Best bar in crown heights!!!!
I went on a tinder date here in 2016 and she eventually broke my heart but I still like it. Chill spot in crown heights with a bartender that looks like a tattooed Richard Nixon.
Professional yummy cocktails, the best bartenders No drama or kiddy games, chill out doors and relax, this spot is 100% better than Crown inn and St. End on franklin ave
Great service, great space with loads of natural light. Affordable drinks and above all zero pretentiousness. A true neighborhood join.
My bar! This is the best place of the neighborhood, happy hour from 5-8pm, $2 Pepitas, Awesome Cocktails, and friendly staff.
It is the best bar. Great cocktails, knowledgable people in control of the music and a decent tap list.
LOVE the bahn mi sandwiches and the drinks are delicious! A great go-to spot for a date or drinks with friends
Pretty busy for a Saturday at 6 PM. Sat outside and had the tangerine beer and Nortena both of which were DELICIOUS
Fantastic cocktails, very inventive, and a real cool space. Love the rum selection!
great cocktails, nice outdoor seating, like $11 so not crazy expensive
some of the best drinks I’ve ever had, one of the most beautiful bars in the city
Best bar in the area. Great, super knowledgeable bartenders that make one hell of a cocktail.
Peter at the bar (on Tuesdays) offers such a nice service. He knows his stuff and knows very well how to prepare a good cocktail. Nice chilled vibe, perfect for after work drinks!
beautiful and professional bartender, great drinks, and clean/well set up inside. good for mocktails! went no alcohol and had a pina no lada that was yummy
Plopped like a tiny oasis off of the relative bustle of Nostrand Ave, King Tai is a cool/unique spot for a date or just to grab a drink and disconnect for a bit. It combines the sensibilities of a chill pub with those of a Miami Cocktail spot...that also sells empanadas and Jerk Nachos. It's a strange combo, for sure, but it works. Definitely worth a visit.
This is a special place. It has a unique vibe unlike any other around here, kind of a mix-up between a classy diner vibe with a slight tiki flair. I'm a big fan of the Mainlander because I love Pimms, but there seriously is something here for everybody. No complaints.
I had been to King Tai a few times pre-pandemic (I've lived in Crown Heights for over decade) but started going more often after my favorite bad closed for good in the spring/summer. It became particularly easy to swing by in the evenings after spending a few hours in the community garden up the street. I started to wonder, sweaty and smeared with dirt, if I could make King Tai my neighborhood spot. I realized I had this morning when I thought, rather naturally, that of course I would pick up a rum punch to go to celebrate Biden's win. I'm so honored King Tai has taken me in--the bartenders are so welcoming--and I am so grateful that in 2020, the year of tragedy and uncertainy, King Tai is providing the neighborhood a gathering spot. The cocktails are outstanding. There's no nice way to say this: I'm picky and stuck up. These are amazing.
King thai is just the best. I love their vibes and how they have a both for a small group of friends or small little tables for a fun date night. Their drinks are the best and they constantly have different varieties of cocktail drinks.
Great beer selection and cool interior design. Good service too. Love that they always have hill farmstead beer on tap all the time!
This my favorite watering hole to take friends / the missus too!! T is an incredible bartender and has Saint like hospitality skills. We absolutely love her!!
Love King Tai! Chill vibes, mixed bar, community booth, and stool seating. Solid beer selection and nice cocktails for pretty standard prices.
My fav place to go at this neighborhood. Nice lighting and interior design! Their cocktails are the best I’ve ever had in Brooklyn.
Fave bar in BK. has a great overall vibe: unpretentious cocktail bar which is rare. come early for an amazing magic hour glow or late for a moody purple neon aura. 🖤
Hello folks welcome all new people new eye balls and new beeeeeeeeeeeeez thanks for reading my post nice fun cozy restaurant here cool and laid back great atmosphere to be in family friendly great food various food selection to choose from nice inside very clean to good staff here drinks on point nice to eat here laugh and have fun no wait time prices are fair so they also have drinks here to if you are in the area come on down don't be scared of the plate come folks grab a spoon folk you no what time it is untill the next time peace
Great neighborhood bar with a very friendly staff! Fun retro digs and sidewalk seating. Interesting cocktail list and small bar bites.
bartenders are the best. they work with flare, such a show to watch. drinks came out consistent and balanced. nice lil' vybe . a great neighborhood place to chillout
Bright, summery and welcoming vs every other dark stained wood, black trimmed BK bar. Order a whiskey w/olive juice, we're trying to make it a regular fixture :)
So…. Hands down Jacob is the best bartender ever and…. Sweet Talk is my favorite cocktail in the city ✨❤️🔥✨
Great special house cocktails, and delicious beers on tap. Really friendly and helpful staff plus wonderful locals to spend some time with!
Great on any weekday. Has a unassuming look but really special on the inside. Must try their seasonal cocktails. Will be visiting for years to come.
I don't usually do reviews, we would come weekly for the oysters and the last few weeks they are not available. Please bring back the Oysters and Jerked oysters are phenomenal!!!!
All the bar tenders are great! The music is always on point and sitting at the bar you’re always going to have a good time! Alcohol selection was surprisingly great as well.
Wonderful, wonderful bar. Great vibes, excellent service, delicious drinks, totally fair prices, local haunt with a great ethos. If you go Wednesday-Friday, you HAVE to try CMarty’s Jerk food. I take everyone I know to King Tai, and without fail, everyone is blown away by Christopher’s jerk nachos. Ya gotta. Ya gotta!
Love this bar, love the vibes inside, love the cocktails, love the price point. I’ve gone to this during both loud/hype nights and low key/intimate nights and it’s enjoyable both ways.
I have never had a better night out in my life. Incredible service & great drinks. Times are strange. Everyone: please keep being safe out there. This place is a great stop on your way back out into the world.
I love this place when it’s not crowded. I can sit and chat with a good friend over some terrific cocktails. The bartenders are great. The interior alone can transport you to another era (1920’s Art Deco) to take the edge off the days load.
A hidden gem great service knowledgeable bartenders the music brings it all together you know why you're there drink responsibly
This place is right next to some friends apartment and we visited while in town for a few days. Amazing cocktails, great vibes on the patio and very affordable! T is a perfect bartender!
King Tai is the best cocktail bar I've been to in Crown Heights. It's located in an extremely cool art deco building. The drinks are mostly tiki or tiki-inspired and the prices are very reasonable for NYC. When I visited, they had a pop-up selling amazing banh mi sandwiches. Overall, this is an excellent place to grab a drink.
Beautiful re-invented little cocktail lounge. The bartender was friendly and chatted with us when we asked him about his favorite whiskey. Cocktails were delicious, priced at $10 each, which is standard for a NY craft cocktail.
Best bar in the world. Only competition is the thirsty crow in silver lake
It’s not your classic tiki bar in any way but definitely the best tiki cocktails in New York. Great staff, great drinks, cute space.
Fantastic bar with light fare. The drinks are fantastic and bartender is super fast at making complicated cocktails. Lovely ambience and a very cool, friendly, clientele.
One of relatively few places in the area where you can bring a baby/toddler and get a beer without feeling like you're unwelcome. Staff is really nice and tolerant of toddler shenanigans (though I recommend sitting outside).
It’s a really nice place to come with friends. We visited on a Friday night for a few cocktails. I enjoyed the atmosphere; the place wasn’t too busy, and the waiter was friendly.
Lived a 10 minute walk from here for 3 years. The interior has such a nice vibe and the music selection was tops. Great date spot with interesting cocktails. Prices are what you'd expect. Bar service was good. Come here if you want a nice date, also come here if you don't want them to cause a scene when you tell them it's not working. The music and lighting will contain their rage.
My friends and I came here randomly. And definitely fell in love with the positive vibes. The bartenders were friendly and outgoing and the music brought old school feels. Would come again. I loved the cocktail I got as well. But don't ask me the name. I definitely forgot.
Shoutout to Brandon who was bartending the top floor tonight. Brandon was one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met in Brooklyn, and his attentiveness and professionalism made the night unforgettable.
Great neighborhood bar with a fun food and music scene. Tasty cocktails, good prices and friendly bar tenders. King Tai is my spot!
Cute cozy bar. Quiet with tasty drinks
This place is solid, always has. Love their rum selection.
Felix was a wonderful bartender who made wonderful cocktails! There was one cocktail that tasted like pina colada and rum punch had a baby, and it was sooooooo good. Very friendly. Very chill and cute bar w chill music. Good for a date 💚💙 There wasn’t any food, so hopefully we can try it next time~
An amazing vibe, CMarty has taken up the food program and it’s worth a visit for that alone. Great cocktails and best bartenders.
It is nice to still have a tiki bar in the neighborhood despite Super Power's closing. We brought food over from La Napa across the street, as the menu notes that they welcome outside food except when they have pop ups.
I hosted a birthday party in the private upstairs space here and it was an excellent experience — I love visiting it as a casual bar to stop in as well! The music is always great and the drinks are delicious and well priced. I love to recommend it to people!
My favorite cocktail bar in Crown Heights. The service is always friendly and the vibe is just great. Very welcoming place. It’s especially great when the weather is good and you can sit outside.
A fantastic neighborhood bar! I live down the block and have consistently been impressed by the drinks, atmosphere, pop-up food program and everything else they've done. The price point has also stayed relatively low as they have skyrocketed elsewhere, and they always have a range of options.
Found this place by accident and so glad I did! It's small but spacious, amazing drinks, plenty of light, and the bartender is a magician 🎩 with the drinks! He was very friendly and attentive. 6 🌟, it's a real gem of a spot. Can't wait for the next time I stop in.
love this joint! has been our neighborhood go to for a while. on top of the cocktails always hitting (and for a reasonable price), the sense of community here is unmatched. the vibe is always welcoming, and i often see familiar customer faces, so i guess they feel the same way too - feel like this doesn’t happen often with bars, but i’m glad it does here. def check it out if you’re in the area (and try the sweet talk!)
As a bar owner myself, these reviews are ridiculously important! So go out, support local, and leave honest reviews. I had the pleasure of supporting my friend, Shannon, at an event in the upstairs lounge area, and we had a blast. The space, while intimate, boasts the vibe of a neighborhood bar with callbacks to the real, tropical vibe without overdoing it. The venue hasn't been modified heavily in order to retain the character of the space. I can genuinely appreciate the love and attention to detail that went into ever aspect of this space & look forward to getting down there for another cocktail. It's amongst the few bars I'd willingly drive down to from upstate NY in the search for a proper cocktail.
Nothing better than a painted bowl and dim lighting to allow you to feel relaxed as you release. Stare at the candle and give in to the wave of intoxication come on from the delightfully fruity cocktail or craft beer. A knock on the single bathroom door will make you return to reality and realize there is a long line of hip 20-somethings waiting for their turn. Open the door and enter back into the brilliant bar space with colored lighting and perfect vibing tunes.
Nice space, decent bartenders, and fun theme. However, its a bit of a one trick pony, so only worth stopping by once a month for a tiki fix.
they staff was very nice and chill, they were fast and quick. the food is really good. I was surprised... only thing is they served some of the food in to go plates which was very unattractive.
While the bar itself is quite loud, the bartenders are super friendly and the drinks are delicious.
This is an interesting place. I never had a problem with the service, but the aesthetic and the set up of the space is a bit weird, especially during the winter/cold months. The inside is a bit dreary and cold. But, during the summer the outdoor area is nice.
Craft cocktails but most are rum based. Kool vibe on a side street so you've got some privacy. Decent happy hour. Friendly bartender.
Great drinks! Had a good pop up wish was great. I would love for them to have food more often but they do allow Togo food brought in!
Gives me a Miami Cuban restaurant from back in the day. Looks nice. Drinks are reasonable and not watered down although my Whiskey Sour was a little on the sour side but my whiskey ginger was fine. Also they don't have an actual food menu but have different foods on the chalk board depending on the day
I love the ambiance, 1950 sort of vibe, interesting cocktails. The biggest negative is the acoustics. Perhaps I'm turning into that old crotchety guy but it can get very echo based when you get more than 6 people in there. That being said, if you can snag an outdoor table then you're golden. Enjoy!
My first visit was on Blizzard Saturday. A fresh few feet of very Brooklyn-2016 snow only seemed to make the mid-century-modern Miami atmosphere more fun. Their pepitas are addictive, and the Guinness is poured. I like this place.
Tasty cocktails - decent prices. SUPER loud. Been going there for a couple years now and they've never addressed the sound issue despite multiple bad reviews (an acoustics). Will be back though.
Drinks were great, but pretty standard for a high end cocktail bar. Service was fast and friendly. The place had a really nice welcoming neighborhood bar feel. What stands out here is the look and layout of the bar. It is really beautiful, fantasticly light and airy. I can think of few places better for an afternoon drink atmosphere-wise.
this place is super cute and makes a nice neighborhood bar. they have a round table for a group of 6 and then some smaller tables, the rest of the seating is at the bar. for happy hour, they have 10$ drinks and i think there are just 5 drinks to choose from, but they are all really solid options. I liked the two I had but honestly you should choose as your tastes dictate here. The bartender is great, helpful with making recommendations. They also have empanadas here- beef and cheese- works great as smaller snacks. Definitely recommend this place!
King Tai was alright. Not a large cocktail list, but large liquor selection and the cocktails offered were nice. Bartenders were knowledgeable but standoffish which wasn't awesome.
I went into this establishment on St Patrick's day and i asked for a vodka martini straight up. He then made it with lime juice and other misc things that shouldn't have been in it. I told him the drink was incorrect and he tossed it telling me he learned from the best. Then he refused to serve me a drink. I immediately wrote the owner who I've met and they went through steps to correct the issue.
Stopped in for a few drinks for happy hour, although there weren't any good deals. There was plenty of space - not crowded at all (pretty empty). The bartender was engaging and friendly, the space was clean. You can bring your dog with you and hang out outside.
Decent place with nice, affordable drinks. However, when I gave a small wVe hello to the bartender, she proceeded to demand “don’t raise your hand at me” and I was so perplexed, since of course I didn’t know what she was talking about since nobody thinks about waving to someone, that I honestly didn’t know what to say while she got progressively aggravated. Whenever I meet people, I give a small wave. It’s never been interpreted as raising a hand “at someone”— something which nobody does and doesn’t make sense. If someone wants attention in class “they raise their hand” they don’t “raise their hand at the teacher”. I didn’t give her a tip.
Having a good night and had a bartender. "clean" my table toosed my drink which contained a good amount out in front of me proceed to lie and talk to her friends about the experience till I confronted her about it. She asked me what beverage I had which was a tequila based drink called the octavio All in all I had a good night the stockier Male bartender was amazing but the the female server who did that was out of line . she attempted to make me seem like I was the bad person. Long story short it was a stockier gentleman. A tanish woman and african American woman and the last one was the one to do it
The decor is great and the staff is nice though a bit blasé. Drinks were nothing special though they souned amazing on paper. Also if that was a pina colada (and thats what they claimed it was) that was the lamest ever. No pina and no colada just rum and flavorlessness and ice. I was super disappointed on that one
I’ve tried to like King Tai, I really have. The staff are great, and the food is decent, but at the end of the day you go there for drinks and.... I just haven’t had one I’ve liked and I’ve been there at least 5 times. They just always seem unbalanced in some way.
I've definitely had good experiences before at this place, but the service yesterday is worth noting. Because I don't want this place going downhill. It was pouring rain out but my fiance and I were meeting up a friend for drinks. We got there first and stood in the rain (as the six tables were occupied) and the server passed a couple times without even so much as a "be right with you". Eventually when someone got up, she gestured to us, pointed at the table and said "sit here, order there" pointing at the window. Warm welcome indeed. When our third came to meet us, we needed a chair and asked a man sitting nearby who had an extra sitting open. He said someone was coming so he needed it, but that we should ask the staff, they'll probably bring out chairs. You would think so right? I asked the woman if we could have an extra chair so that a friend could sit with us, under the tent out of the rain (mind you), and all she could say was "You have to ask around, that's how everyone else is doing it" or something to that effect. Hard to hear, it was raining, and she wasn't going out of her way to be helpful in any capacity. So we left. Why would it be so difficult to get one chair to help us all sit and ORDER DRINKS. Losing patronage for what?? I'll never understand why staff like this get hired. King Tai, don't lose your touch.
Bartender is just plain rude, has happened on multiple occasions. A shame cause it’s a nice spot.
Charged for a round we never got
Drinks we're sub par, bartender (guy in a hat) didn't seem to care, had a "would rather be somewhere else" attitude. Only wanted to flirt with girls at the bar. Wouldn't even look me in the eye when I ordered, don't come here. Much better bars in the area
Ordered one drink and closed after ordering. Did not see a receipt until it was emailed to me. Was charged for two drinks. Ridiculous. Check your bill before you close out here!!
Bar owner was incredibly unprofessional and rude. Do not host your events here or support this business. I was inquiring about the logistics of the space when the owner escalated out of nowhere and lost patience
