been meaning to try this place for a while, so we came here on a sunday before seeing a movie, there were only two other groups there so no wait. a concise and focused menu bodes well; we got the taiwanese beef noodle soup and the chicken ramen. normally I wouldn't pay 23 bucks for chicken soup but we saw it also had duck broth, so why not give it a try. The two dishes were on opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, both very rich and flavorful. The chicken had thin noodles and the beef had wavy knife cut noodles. Their soy eggs were perfectly jammy inside. I didn't know which bowl was my favorite, but both were on the expensive side for noodle soup. I think the chicken ramen was the better deal since you get a whole chicken leg, but to be fair a good taiwanese beef noodle soup is hard to find in Brooklyn. Service was quick and attentive and the space was cozy. I also really liked their wooden spoons. I would recommend they add a couple more light beers to the menu. Overall I would go back as a treat, the price makes it hard to justify as a weekly spot for soup but the quality is very good for what you're paying for.
the owner malcolm puts so much care and heart into all of the dishes. the food is all from scratch, but very reliable and consistent. the portions are healthy but not overwhelming. the dining room is comfortable and not overwhelming. such a delightful neighbourhood spot and well worth the trek to dine at. the food stays so good after multiple visits. the day after i dine here i crave it again! highly recommend. so many vegan and vegetarian and gluten free options! food for everyone and multiple options for all eating styles.
Unexpectedly amazing ramen! We had been meaning to stop by for awhile, but now that we have visited, we will be sure to go back soon. We got the mochi fried tofu at the recommendation of the server and it was delicious. And for ramen we both got the chicken ramen which came with a whole chicken leg with meat that literally just fell off the bone just by using chopsticks. The drinks were really good too! Will be back to try the tonkotsu ramen soon!
We had a wonderful experience at Unoriginal Noodles! We ordered the mochi fried tofu, spicy pickles, sweet and spicy duck wings, chicken ramen, seafood ramen, and spicy Taiwanese beef noodle soup. All dishes were excellent (esp the mochi fried tofu and each of the ramen bowls! 🍜🔥). Malcolm, the chef/owner, couldn’t be nicer or more hospitable. The ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant and the restaurant is kid-friendly (which I appreciate with a 6 month-old baby!). Came here with family and friends and we will all be back again soon — make sure you don’t miss out!
Fantastic food that is both authentic and innovative! All the ramen dishes my group tried were terrific, and the appetizers are great too, particularly the duck wings and the mochi fried tofu. Ambiance and service are great as well, just a really nice place to hang out!
There is no feeling like accidentally stumbling into one of the best meals you’ve ever had. This was my experience at Unoriginal Noodles. My only issue with the place is its own modesty reflected in its name. It should be called like “The Best Noodles” or something. But often is the case that greatness is tamed by modesty. Maybe that’s for the best. Are the noodles innovative or cutting edge? No, they are simple and all the better for it. The broth is out of this world I would purchase that alone and drink it. The noodles are perfect springy and chewy without being over cooked. I got the taiwanese spicy beef, the beef would disintegrate in your mouth. The veggies were perfectly crunchy as well. The owner was super nice and talked with us about old Jackie Chan movies he seems like a good dude that just loves to make a high quality product. I don’t know what more you can say this neighborhood is so lucky and I honestly don’t even know if they know what they have here. I will be thinking about this place till the next time I’m able to come back. Well done!
Unoriginal noodles is a humble name for an absolutely brag worthy bowl of noodles. I had the tonkatsu and the pork was some of the best I’ve had in a bowl of soup. The noodles were perfectly chewy and the broth was rich yet delicate. A great bowl! But don’t sleep on the apps. The duck wings were a knockout and the fried tofu was an incredible surprise. It almost chewed like a light mozzarella stick. I can’t wait to go back for the signature beef noodle bowl. Def a top noodle spot for my book.
This is exactly the place I’ve been waiting to open in the park slope/ south slope area. Duck wings are excellent. Sweet spicy and crispy. Ramen is great, more of a clear broth but with good flavor. Would definitely visit again.

If you're a local of South Slope, you might stumble on this hidden gem, kind of a humble but trendy storefront randomly on 6th ave, just a few blocks away from Greenwood Cemetery. It tends to only be discovered by those in the neighborhood because it's in this crux, but it's slowly getting noticed by those in Park Slope proper and by folks visiting after events in Windsor Terrace and in the cemetery. This all goes to say, I'm really lucky I walked in. It immediately became a staple in my restaurant rotation, as it's easily the best Ramen I think I've had ever, at least since living in New York. I can't stop ordering the chicken ramen, which comes with a generous portion of perfectly roasted chicken leg in a rich duck broth. I'm obsessed with it, dream about it, and crave it no matter the weather. The plating and subtle touches in the service elevate everything. You should go and chat with the owner/head chef, whose career (ask him!) is infamous, especially if you're familiar with the favorite restaurants of NYCers. Drink selection, esp. for sake is wonderful too. Hope more people discover it. Try the chicken ramen! And if you're vegetarian, try the tofu app!
New fav spot. Already been three times and can’t wait for the next time.
The duck wings are great! Cute place.
Absolutely delicious noodles. A cut above anything else in the neighborhood.
Fantastic place great service nice ambiance! Come here!
Lovely food! Lovely people! :)
I’ll be dreaming about those duck wings 🤤
Yum!!!
Amazing neighborhood place! They remember our order every time, but also have new menu items, all of which have been incredible. Service is like being at home.
Everyone has their own favorite local hangout. Unoriginal Noodles is that kind of place. A casual family run restaurant serving great Ramen noodles Whether you are looking for a hot bowl of Ramen on a cold night or a lite appetizer and cocktail at the bar you will be greeted with friendly service. And like any good Ramen dish, it’s all in the broth. You can taste the layers of flavor in this one. If you like a little heat in your Remen I suggest getting the spicy Taiwanese.
New gem in South Slope!! What a place I just have good words for this restaurant! The food is amazing, went for the tonkotsu ramen and the Ube dessert, and both are incredible + the owner is full of charisma. Will come back very very soon.
The place is such a treat for our little corner in the neighborhood. The food is flavorful, the dessert is divine and the hospitality is through the roof. Super grateful to have it here and I wish them all the luck!
Not sure what’s so unoriginal here! The noodles are fresh and delightful, brilliant appetizers, fun drinks, serene and elegant decor. A great addition to the neighborhood.
The food, the drinks and the service were amazing. From the fried duck legs to the salmon ramen. Malcolm,Amed and staff were really crushing it. Thanks for having us guys.
The mochi fried tofu and chicken ramen are both outstanding! Great new, neighborhood place that I hope people continue to discover!!
so good, and a very interesting menu. the mochi fried tofu was my fave. thrilled they’re in the neighborhood.
The food here was great! Really good ramen plus the staff and owner weee very kind during our meal.
All so good. ~24 hours have passed and I still can't stop thinking about the mochi fried tofu
Great atmosphere and even better food! Definitely recommend a visit and trying the beef noodle soup!
The food was so delicious and the service was awesome! It's a great neighborhood spot and we'll definitely be visiting often!
amazing ramen, great atmosphere and lovely staff. definitely recommend!
Awesome neighborhood noodle spot! fresh and bright flavors, kind staff and fire music. Be sure to check it out.
Great food and great service! Happy to have them in the neighborhood, and will definitely be coming back
Terrific food, personable service. The ramen is delicious!
Great new neighborhood spot - excellent service and lovely vibe open to the street. Welcome to the neighborhood, Unoriginal Noodles!
Great service and the best edamame I've ever had
Warm staff and service, flavorful broth and a wonderful evening. Will come again 😊
Super delicious and homey spot :) loved the chicken ramen!
Best ramen house outside of Japan, and even beats a lot in Japan!
Had an amazing spicy Taiwanese soup, meat and noodles were perfectly done.
Good food and friendly service! Highly recommend!
Mochi magic!!!😻❤️Great new Ramen place!

Loved the cold soba noodles with Asian pear, cucumber, and beef. Delicious icy broth and so refreshing on a summer night. Great chef/owner and bartender. It’s clear that there’s a lot of love and care in the food here and that makes all the difference in quality and flavor.
We went on a Sunday at 6p with another couple and their 2 kids and it was perfect. They have options for kids to eat and share, and even had a fish based soup that I could have! I’m allergic to crustaceans so it’s tough to get something that doesn’t have it in there. Drinks are delicious and service is always awesome. This place is such a great addition to the neighborhood!
I absolutely love this place! The food is incredibly delicious, and the servers are so friendly and welcoming. The mochi fried tofu is hands down the best tofu dish I've ever had—I literally dream about it! The ramen is fantastic, and their chocolate cake is the perfect cherry on top of an amazing meal. Highly recommend!
More than your classic neighborhood noodle spot! Incredible depth of flavor with the tonkotsu, and the appetizers are fantastic as well! First time trying duck wings, and now it’s hard to go back to chicken ones! I’ve been told the beef ramen is their signature dish, can’t wait to try it next time!
Had a delicious veggie ramen and the vegetables were very fresh, and I liked the crunchy topping and the garlic. I want to return to try more stuff
Everything we tried was absolutely delicious but a special shoutout to the fried oysters. A must when in the neighborhood!
If you are looking for quality ingredients, great dining experience at a fair price, look no further. My partner and I had been wanting to try this place, and we were instantly blown away by the unique combination of authenticity and creativity. We tried the Taiwanese beef noodle soup and the chicken ramen. The broth and noodles complemented each other so well. The meat, combined with other toppings, created a solid feast. Malcom, the owner, and Ahmed, the waiter, made the space warm and welcoming. They treated us with a mochi fried tofu appetizer, which is beyond delicious (the texture of mochi and tofu creates such an pleasant contrast, and the sauce is so good that we keep dipping the noddles in it after we finished the mochi tofu). We greatly appreciate the efforts they put into uploading their high standards (their broth is made from high-quality organic ingredients sourced from upstate). We feel very grateful to have such a quality place in our neighborhood. Highly recommend checking out this spot for a great dinning experience.
This is the best ramen place in the city. I know this is a bold statement, but I have lived here for 19 years and have been to all the fancy ramen places and this place is better. The noodles are fresh and homemade. The broth is complex and delicious and the portions are huge. It’s maybe more expensive than other places, but the portions are big enough that it last 2 days. So really not that bad. You will be doing yourself a favor if you come here.
We had an amazing meal at Unoriginal Noodle tonight! The noodles were cooked to a perfect al dente, and the broth was delicious. The best part was the friendliness of the staff, especially the head chef and owner, Malcom and the bartender/server, Ahmad. Both very welcoming and generous. Good vibes all around - a great addition to the neighborhood. Will definitely be back!
Some of the best ramen I've had in a long while. Great hospitality and atmosphere
Ate here about two weeks ago with friends. Everything I tried was excellent, especially the mochi fried tofu and the tonkotsu ramen. What really made the experience, though, was our server, Malcolm, who couldn't have been more generous and welcoming. A great addition to the neighborhood! I'll certainly be going back.
I came here with my husband and we tried the fried tofu, duck wings as appetizers, and the tonkatsu and chicken ramen. The tofu was fried yet soft; duck wings were very flavorful, so were the both of the ramen. They also made a mean drink. The owner is very friendly. Already planning to come back with a friend this week. Highly recommend.
This is hands down the best ramen spot in Park Slope and any adjacent neighborhoods. Everything we’ve had has been delicious and has a slight twist to traditional ramen recipes where the chef has made it his own.
My husband and I love ramen. We used to live in LA near some of the best ramen there is. This is an amazing spot nestled in our neighborhood. We tried the mochi covered tofu….and it was delightful to say the least! We also had a veggie ramen which was also incredibly flavorful. It’s hard to find good veggie ramen out there!!! Will be back again to try the rest of the ramens! Super friendly staff. Go support your local businesses and eat some yummy food while doing it!
City dwellers love a good ramen spot, we do. This place has all the vibes: lovely seating, good drinks and good people! I am a very self conscious eater so I took my ramen to go - I really loved the bite of the Taiwanese noodles and the strength of the spicy beefy broth that it comes in. But while waiting on my order I sipped a barley highball, tastes like whiskey with apple juice, dangerously delicious, and chewed on some fried oysters with a tangy relish which made the perfect accompaniment: gorgeous pickled veggies. my kind thanks to Malcolm for opening up such a welcome spot! Cheers to Ahmad for the lovely drink!
Nice dishes and a family friendly atmosphere. The duck wings are a must try.
Was sad to see Lot2 go but so happy this has come to replace it! The food is delicious. I'm a big fan of the mochi tofu and my kids love the karaage chicken. The ramen is delicious and I love getting an extra helping of the fried garlic chips to add to the top. My only recommendation would be to add some cold noodle dishes to the menu for the warmer months.
Greatest Ramen ever. Kind staff. Good drinks. A neighborhood staple.
Great quality and flavor. Fried chicken tastes so clean but juicy. Taiwanese beef noodle soup is great. Good cut of beef with flavorful pickled vegetables. Will visit again soon.
Loved the ramen here. I got the tonkatsu and it was the most delicious bowl. I've never finished an entire bowl by myself but this one was an exception. So glad to have found this place! Will definitely come back
The chef, Malcolm was wonderful to begin with. We ordered taiwanese beef noodle soup as well as the spicy duck wings as an appetizer. We also got the Shirley Temple to drink, and all the parts of the meal were absolutely wonderful. We stumbled upon this place by accident and will definitely be coming back whenever in town. The chef along with the waiter were super welcoming and even spent time talking with us.
SO exciting to have a place of this caliber in my neighborhood! Lots of ramen places around but none come close. The ingredients, the quality of the food - feels like fine dining. Malcolm and the rest of the staff are cool cats. See you guys again next week.
The ramen noodle with confit chicken was so ORIGINAL despite the name of the place. Confit chicken is rarely on a menu and this one was particularly delicious. The flavors were so rich and complex. I will return and it is going to be hard to order anything else as I keep thinking how good and restorative is this dish. The tofu appetizer was also outstanding; so delicate. The light crunch of the crust and the silkiness were delightful. Can’t wait to go back!
Very high quality in every category. The food is thoughtfully composed and so is the atmosphere. I’m vegan and had a delicious, satisfying meal. I wish more restaurants were like unoriginal noodles.
Went late night just looking for noodles locally, was surprised how good the food was. Noodles were perfect, flavors spot on. Can be a bit of a snob when it comes to food, and often find myself unsatisfied with the homogenized nature of restaurants in Park Slope area and was impressed! Service was amazing as well(not sure but I’m assuming the owner was one of the individuals). Definitely going to return!
Unoriginal Noodles is really a master class in doing ramen the right way. Many times, I’ve left ramen restaurants feeling like I just had fast food. The food is either too rich or too salty, and they don’t use high-quality ingredients. Unoriginal noodles feel like you’re sitting in someone’s living room, and they've slaved away in the kitchen to make you the freshest and most delicious ramen from scratch. If you have not been here, you should really try it. Not to mention, they have lots of other delicious things on the menu. If your kids are picky eaters, they also have pretty simple ramen for kids, with just broth and noodles. This restaurant is on a quiet street on Sixth Avenue and can easily be overlooked, but you should not miss it. It's a neighborhood gem that really should be supported since the quality of its food is superb! The service is also excellent!

We love beef noodles, of the Singapore and Hong-Kong varieties. So we were sceptical about beef noodles served in Brooklyn; after all, this borough is not known for Chinese food. But, we were pleasantly surprised. The taste, apparently the owner-chef's own concoction, didn't let us down. Its flavour was rather unique, spicy yet tasting like what any good beef noodle soup worth its salt (and pepper?) should. Other orders also did not disappoint. The lady boss, chef's mum, was friendly and chatty, further making our dining experience more enjoyable. Worth a 2nd and 3rd and .... visits.
Love the person who took our orders very informed and very knowledgeable. If only at the time they had just put an internal sign instead of the one standing outside with the specials. Food felt very clean and very good. For me it was good not great, and a little on the pricier side. I would go to try but not come back for a second round.

Good flavors, but the noodles were a bit overdone. Pleasant staff.
Mixed feelings about this place - definitely not keeping things simple but I appreciate the new take. Had the seafood ramen which was good but have no idea what I was tasting exactly. Will try one more shot. I should stop thinking it as ramen.
The food was alright — you can tell they use good, fresh ingredients, but there’s something missing. The noodles were cooked well, though the broth could use more flavor and thickness to really make the dishes shine. The place itself is very clean and well-kept. My drink, however, was pretty bad — flat, almost like gin mixed with sake but without any flavor. Definitely not something I’d order again. And then there was the most unexpected part: someone inside had a macaw. The bird was colorful, sure, but it was also pooping in the restaurant, which was… strange, to say the least. Overall, decent food with potential, but the drinks need work — and the parrots probably belong outside.
Food was disappointing. We got the tonkotsu ramen, chicken ramen, and ube sweet potato with blueberries and ginger creme brulee. For both ramen the broth was actually not bad at all. Same for the noodles; they had a good bounce/chew to them. However, the roast pork in the tonkotsu ramen was a huge miss. They gave 5 slices, which is actually a lot and wouldve been a great plus, but 4 of the 5 slices were way overcooked. Not tender whatsoever. Maybe it's just me but normally when I get the roast pork in a tonkotsu ramen I'm looking for soft, tender, almost melt in your mouth pork belly type of roast pork. This was nothing like that. It was almost like 4 slices of pork jerky and 1 slice of almost soft roast pork. Huge miss in my opinion. Second, the braised chicken leg in the chicken ramen also tasted burnt. Seems like a theme in the main toppings of both these dishes. Lastly, the "creme brulee" is no creme brulee at all. It's more like a bowl of mashed ube sweet potato with blueberries in it topped with a thin hard caramelized shell. They got the top layer right, but the rest of it was not it. It was not smooth or creamy at all. It had mashed potatoes consistency. There were also candied ginger scattered all around it which didn't seem to go with the flavor profile at all. So overall this was a miss for me which is a shame because I really wanted to enjoy and frequent this place.

The ramen was just okay. Not very much flavor, toppings carried it. Staff is friendly and nice atmosphere.
The signature dish beef noodles was overpowered by the sugar, vinegar and cinnamon. The beef itself was very tasteless. The kind of noodles used was interesting because of the shape, however, it would have been better(easier to eat) if the noodles were longer instead only 2-3 inches long. The mochi tofu is unique and enjoyable in it's texture although the flavor of the sauce is rather too intense. The oyster deep fried was unnecessarily salty given that it's supposed to be dipped in the tasty aioli mayonnaise sauce. The ambience and service are great.
Really excited to try this place as we live close by. The atmosphere and the service was great. Ahmad helped me with placing a to-go order and he was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the food itself was pretty bland. We felt like the broth had no flavor which then leads to the egg and the pork lacking flavor too. Maybe we just got it on an off night and can try to go back again
Unfortunately the ramen wasn't that great
Waiter was either drunk or high. As a result, he was knocking glasses over, ignoring tables, taking 5 minutes to do simple tasks, etc. Sat there for 15 minutes waiting for him to take our order before walking out. I feel bad for the owner who has to hire people like this. The food looked good and was bummed I couldn’t try it.
Came here because of all the positive reviews, but we did not have the same experience at all. The noodles were fine but nothing special- you can get better at many other local shops. But the real disappointment was the poor customer service. It was very difficult to get the server to pay attention to us- it took 20+ mins to have our order taken and another 20+ mins to get the bill paid. Additionally, we were served expired sodas to complement our mediocre meals. My recommendation is to go a few blocks north to some of the better shops in the area.
