I have been coming here for a bit. This is my second time with my co worker friend for girls hang out. I had the grilled chicken dinner and rum punch drinks. Pics attached of my meal. My friend had the fish dinner meal. It was great service then. Today, Great afterwork spot for food & drinks for happy hour! Service was great. Gabriella was so sweet, kind and pleasant. She sat us in the dining room. She checked on u and also allow us to have space to enjoy our girls night. We had a great convo over some fried Flounder fish & Rum punch. 🍹🍽️ we will definitely back again. Please try them if u haven’t do so yet!!!
Had dinner with hubby. Our starters: plantains with guacamole and beef empanadas. I had the Yayo steak with mashed potatoes and he had fried pork chops with yellow rice and red beans. I had flan for dessert. Everything was super delicious and freshly made. Our server Gabriella was attentive, friendly and provided quick service. The space is large but also cozy. It has a relaxed vibe. Menu is electronic. Great for date night whether you dress up or down. I've been here before and I'm always very pleased.
I recently visited Yayo’s Latin Cuisine for a company dinner celebrating our director’s retirement, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and efficient, making it easy for our group to enjoy the evening together. A special shoutout to Pablo for his excellent service. He was attentive, professional, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Great food and outstanding service; I would definitely recommend Yayo’s Latin Cuisine!
We had a retirement party at Yayos & the staff was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. Pablo was patient with us and made sure everyone had the correct order. Pablo made the experience even more special. Love it!
This was the perfect venue for our friend's retirement celebration. The staff handled our group with ease, and the food exceeded everyone's expectations. Pablo, our server, was the highlight of the night—his dedication and attention to detail made the occasion feel even more special. I will certainly be recommending this spot to others looking for great food and friendly service. The owner was also very kind and personable I believe his name was Robert.
Thank you Gabriela! We will be back. The place was clean. The food was fresh, hot & delicious. Kids enjoyed their burger and fries. The drinks were delicious and strong. It was the perfect restaurant before a show at the Barclays!
While visiting Brooklyn right after an unexpected snow storm which I wasn't prepared for. I didn't have my hopes up but boy was I blown away! I have absolutely no complaints about anything except for one. They're in Brooklyn and I'm in Florida 😢😭 The good news, the owner told me they have a sister location in Kissimmee FL! Still too far but closer much closer than NY! Special shout out to the female bartender who gave my son and I excellent attention. Sorry I can't recall names this moment. I KNOW my son will be back. The ONLY downside was the parking but that's everywhere.
Came before a basketball game one evening and was great. Food and service was amazing. Delicious and fresh. Our server Laura was exceptional as well!
Laura out sever was on point with everything providing recommendations and letting us know of the happy hour specials.
Jesica was absolutely amazing. Extremely attentive and sensitive toward my son’s allergies! Thank you so much for going above and beyond! Can’t wait to come back! The food was DELICIOUS!!!!
Yayo’s offers a warm, inviting slice of Latin comfort in a relaxed Brooklyn setting. The exterior is unpretentious, but inside you’ll find a surprisingly spacious dining room with stylish murals, soft lighting, and neatly set tables that create a cozy, welcoming vibe. The bar is fully stocked, featuring an impressive range of spirits and multiple screens playing sports—perfect for casual drinks or catching a game. The kitchen delivers hearty, homestyle dishes; the roast pork and rice look tender, juicy, and generously portioned, prepared right in front of you with no shortcuts. There’s also a solid coffee setup for those who want something warm after a meal. Overall, this spot blends great food, friendly atmosphere, and neighborhood charm into a satisfying dining experience.
I always get the grilled chicken with onions, beans, sweet plantains, and veggies everything is always seasoned perfectly and fresh. Their mashed potatoes are super good too creamy. The rum punch is my favvvvvorite hands down. I love yayos.
I’ve been here a couple of times definitely my favorite place to go to before a concert or game at Barclay’s. The staff is friendly and great on suggesting food and drinks. Saturday nights they have live music which is my favorite and the vibe is like no other. A friendly classy restaurant with great cocktails, food and prices. Here are some of my favorite pics I’ve taken. Definitely a place to check out.
Decent food the recent remodel went fabulously and the place looks almost swanky now with the addition of a bar. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the food 8.5, the staff is nice and generally speaking it’s easy to find a seat because the restaurant is divided into 3 quadrants, Bar area with tables, formal dining and buffet eating with pull up chairs. It’s definitely worth a go.
Cute Latin Cuisine spot on 5th Ave in BK. Restaurant has a dine in area and a take out line. Ate here before a concert at Barclays. Service was great and food was good. I had the chicken empanadas for appetizers. Main entrees were Arroz Con dules with pernil and Arroz con pollo. Great portions. Also tried the red sangria. Over great spot to try if near Barclays Center
We went for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent and definitely budget friendly and we orderedway too much!! The Seafood Paella was out of this world. However, the staff is lacking. Took too long for our dinner and our waitress pretty much disappeared. She wanted me to sign the receipt again even though I already had paid the bill with the manager. I had to confirm with them that my bill was only processed once. Will I go back? Maybe.....
Food was really good but the waitress need to get trained she never showed up for final bill never came back to the table to make sure we was ok I end it up paying at the to go counter so not going there no more
I came to thsi restaurant because I heard the food is authentic and they have mofongo. The restaurant has a take out section, casual and formal dining, and a bar. The mofongo wasn't the best like i had in Puerto Rico. The Plantains were a bit dry with little seasoning. I've noticed that the garlic heightens the flavour of the Plantains. I had to ask the waiter for extra garlic source, which made a big difference. The tomato sauce was good.
We visited recently and left disappointed overall. That said, the staff was very pleasant throughout our meal — a definite bright spot. We started with a few appetizers — fried calamares and the empanadas were actually the highlight of the entire meal, but unfortunately everything else fell short. The yuca fries tasted of freezer burn, and the maduros were chunky and tough, nothing like they should be. For entrees, we ordered the grilled pork chops and a churrasco (medium rare), but the steak came out closer to medium. To their credit, they did bring a replacement, which looked better — it was okay, but not what we expected. The rice and beans were a letdown too. I genuinely don’t understand how a Latin restaurant can miss on rice and beans — it’s the foundation. For dessert, the tres leches continued the theme of disappointment. The top half of the cake was dry, and it seemed like the milk had only soaked into the bottom layer. One more thing worth mentioning — 18% gratuity was automatically added to our check, and there were only two of us. Just something to be aware of when you get your bill. The empanadas, fried calamares, and the staff showed some promise, but the food overall just didn’t deliver. I’d have a hard time recommending this place.
I usually will get the lunch special fish with yellow rice and Pinto. Beans, but this time, the beans had a vinegary taste like it was sour and a family member had got the black beans, which they said were okay. Overall the food is decent , but I i think I will take a break from the restaurant
I order pepper steak and pork chop. I been going to this place 10 years already. I know the portion of the lunch special by heart. It been consistent for 10 Years. Until today i make a delivery order And I received the most miserable amount of meat possible in existence. The pork chop was ohkay. Cant go wrong with that. But in all my years buying lunch special for steak I never seen this little bit of steak so i got curious and called. So this guy told me there was only a little Bit of steak left. And he gave me that. Me on the other tone ask him why he dint tell me that when i was ordering i could have order some else if i knew. Then he proceeded to say then u should have order something else. Then we went back and forth about how im supposed to know there lik bit steak left if you the server dont say anything Then he starts saying thats the regular portion for steak. And im telling him is not i been coming here for 10 years and thats not 13$ worth of steak LITERALLY there was so much pepper that the meat purpose was just to serve as juice for the pepper Like completely violated. Im telling him just the sight of it made me lost my appetite He say u should have order something else so instead taking accountability he say is my fault. So imagine going for 10 years buying food consistently in a place. Just to find someone who not even properly a year old yet in this place. Telling you that you wrong for expecting the same amount of food you been getting for 10 years. Today out of days. Is my fault? Some people really want you to crash out for real. Forgot to mention. He say he was not going give me a refund or change my lunch at all. This is the behavior that wants you to either have a conversation with their supervisor which he is mad rude himself and only care what happens in the dining restaurant this is why you got so many people serving food in yayos with nasty attitude and attitude like they ain’t wrong in nothing So since this not happening at the dining tables. He dont pay much attention and he let them get away with murder. Like i say that attitude to make you want speak with supervisor. Or catch that specific employee outside and ask him what is his problem. Either or im done with this restaurant. You admitted that there was just a lil bit steak left. Then proceeded to lie saying thats the actual regular portion of steak? Honestly goes a long way. From now on. Im taking my business to besitos. Anywhere else but yayos. I buy 3 lunch of food daily from this place every single day religiously. Just for someone come with this shenanigan.
