Not sure why this place is rated 3.5/5 on Yelp, both times I passed by they were super busy. Even arriving at an odd time (around 2pm – weekday) to give them a try, the tables were filled. Ok a first timer here, I was a bit overwhelmed – what do I do? Where do I stand? What do I order? Plan ahead and scan the menu before arriving at the restaurant – I know there is this thing with Koreans they ask are you team jjajangmyeon or team Jjamppong? Which is odd because both noodle dishes vary different in style and flavor. jjajangmyeon –Chines-Style Korean noodle dish topped with a thick sauce made of chunjang, diced pork, and vegetables. Jjamppong – a Chinese-style Korean noodle soup with red, spicy seafood- or pork-based broth flavored with gochugaru. If you can’t pronounce the names, then say the number of the dish – pay and they give you a number. I really do enjoy spice and I know I would love them both unfortunately, I have a slight shellfish allergy so I haven’t even tried Jjamppong. Although I did come with my partner and encouraged her to try the soup, she decided on Bokkeummyeon instead. The jjajangmyeon was very good and flavorful, yes as most say the portion is enough for 2. I also tried a bit of the Bokkeummyeon, although good it was a bit too salty for me. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot if you are in the area and want to try something new!

I was in the area, going to Hmart. Saw this place and realized it was one of Judge Paik's, from Culinary Class Wars, restaurants!! Had to try it. Always love Jajangmyeon so wanted that, they had a spicy version with chile. We kept seeing people with this fried dish, it was sweet and sour pork! They were both amazing 👏 🤩 this is food you will be craving! Always hits 🔥 Besides the parking in this shopping area being crazy it still worth it 😊

First time having jajangmyeon here. It’s a Korean noodle with black sauce. Gotta say this gave me very good impression of Jajang-style Korean food. The service was very quick. You get pickled radish in every dish. It feels like food court style ordering. Totally recommend!

When I crave jjajangmyeon, Paik's Noodle in Buena Park is always my first choice. After visiting many times, I can confidently say they have the BEST jjajangmyeon in town. Highly recommended! This time, I also tried jjampong (spicy noodle soup with pork, squid, mussels, and vegetables). It's perfect for spicy food lovers. For entrees, I loved their sweet & sour pork and chili shrimp. Both were flavorful and crunchy. Overall, they serve generous portions, perfect for sharing, and everything is delicious. Hope you enjoy!

My family's go-to for jjajangmyeon! Out of all the Paik's Noodles/Hong Kong Banjum locations I think this one makes jjajangmyeon the best. Always super quick and really really yummy. Not to mention they aren't stingy with the pickled radish!

I love this place! I usually go for jjangmyun either regular or spicy and it's always consistent but unfortunately service, usually it is great but it's not consistent where one time the cashier is smiling and suggesting other items but sometimes I can sense the cashier wants me to rush and decide when there was no one behind me. So overall I like this place, also just a teeny suggestions if I may add is if they can have some sort of kimchi either with regular cabbage or Napa cabbage. ☺️

I like their food but they raise their prices really fast. They've been doing that a lot of times even way before the pandemic. I would still return because they have good food. However, sadly we can't afford to do so as often as before. We love your jjangmyeon and jjampong.

Great food! My daughters love it! Parking can be a major issue here at the wrong time. Good luck finding a spot

If you came across this restaurant because of your long wait at other restaurants like Sup or Kang Ho Dang, you'd be surprised how good the food is here. We had the spicy seafood stew and egg omelette rice with Chinese style sauce. We also had the pork dumplings. Everything was great and the portions were enormous. There isn't much seating area here so it's expected to leave and eat when it's busy (it's self-order, retrieval and seating). Would recommend increasing the AC since it was warm inside and offering cold water vs room temp water. Other than that, would return again to try their other dishes.

When you want to eat spicy soup or try to relieve a hangover, please try to order JjamBbong. I 've been following hostess of this restaurant, so I know well about the history of this branch. I met her first time in food court in Freshia Market at Garden Grove a few years ago, when she opened it. I really loved to eat JjamBbong at that time. However, Freshia Market was bankrupt, so they could not continously do the business there. After that, she opened new branch at Arirang Market at Fullerton, so I started to visit there to eat JjamBbong. Finally, she opened new branch at Village Circle on Beach at Buena Park which is nearby my house and located in independent building. Anyway, I been following her to eat this delicious JjamBbong. Now I can enjoy it without any concern of closing. Try to eat JjamBbong which is spicy and delicious. You will love it when you are addicted spicy food.

Average taste, sweet and sour pork was less than expected.

I know Paek's place is always guaranteed for the food quality control so food is always good without deviation. Btw it was strange to see the sauce for tangsuyuk is really small in the smaller container for togo and runs out at the half are finished. They have to correct the container size for the sauce.

The portion of the jajangmyeon was great, very filling. However, the tangsuyuk was very disappointing; it had very thick batter to hide that the meat was tiny. I will be back for the noodles, but don’t recommend the tangsuyuk.

Tried their jajang myun and it was nothing special, just decent. It hits the spot if you’re craving it, but there’s nothing that really stands out. I also wish the jajang bap came with fried rice — that would’ve made it feel more worth it. Overall, average experience.

My wife and I tried this place on a whim because the nearby restaurants (Sup and BaekJeong) were packed. We ordered the Tangsuyuk and the Jajangmyeon, both of which were a little disappointing — especially considering the price. Paying $30 for subpar food was tough. But it didn't help that we were the only customers in the small joint and had to wait longer than expected for the food. To make matters worse, they gave us tiny cups (like 4oz each) for water and were being stingy with napkins. Combined, all these factors didn't make for the best dining experience. Was it horrible? No. Were the workers nice? Yes. But will we return? No.

Last evening was the worst meal I've ever had at this place. Chef must be sleeping. We've been here before many times, but yesterday was totally different. Ordered BOKKUM noodle and sweet and sour pork. Sauce for noodle was too sweet and there wasn't much of vegetables. Sweet and sour was too sweet, no sour taste. S&S sauce was so thick, chopsticks were able to stand still, too much starch. I thought in the Army, they used to starch pants hard so it could stand by itself. NO kidding. It was terrible yesterday.

As with many other restaurants during Covid-19, the quality of service and taste of dishes at this place has diminished quite a bit. If you have to eat here I would stick to the basic jajiangmen and jjampong which are quite average in taste. I ordered Jajiangmen rice and they served me quite horrible rice and the soup on the side was not fresh and cooked down to be too salty. I would avoid this outlet and try the place in Hannam Supermarket food court that is across the road.

I really dislike when customers are very entitled but this restaurant, come on man… if a customer requests for something, unless it is absolutely not possible why not just comply with their request? Why argue and say it won’t be good. Got my food and as soon as I get it, I see the soup leaking. Workers are rude as well.

I ordered some 짜장면 and fried chicken. The noodles were great. However, the friend chicken wings were raw. Half of the chicken were raw. It was very pink and was severely undercooked. They weren't even busy at the time either to rush my order. Unless you want Salmonella, do not order their chicken.

It used to be great… but not anymore. I understand they’re busy, but the food tasted terrible this time. The jjamppong was overly salty, and the jjajangmyeon was way too greasy. I’ve always loved the tangsuyuk, but the portion was disappointingly small. I’ve decided not to come back. :/

I ordered food to go for my family the person lady on the phone was really rude i ordered Jjamppong and ot had no taste not enough noodle portions very small watery I also tangsuyuk friedporkmeat was hard no good and no taste flavor I don't recomend this restaurant save your money and order from other restaurant and they charger for the boxes yo go which they look like marketing boxes from HMart.

The cashier just blew her nose in front of me but never washed her hand and then proceeded to handled our spoons and dishes. Very disgusting. I will never back to this place again ever.

My wife and children went their to have lunch. My 10 year old daughter ordered her favorite jia jang myun with extra reddish. She didn’t finish her meal and instead of throwing it away she chose to take it home. When she asked the front counter lady for a lid for the reddish, her response to my daughter was “ why did you order extra if you weren’t going to finish it” My daughter felt so ashamed after hearing this ladies obnoxious comment. Talking to a child in this manner is unacceptable. I will meet with you and the owner of your restaurant very soon!

This branch owner tries to save money on noodles. The portion of noodles in the black bean noodle dish is much smaller than at any other branches. There are many Chinese-Korean restaurants around this area, but it looks like they have given up competing with others. If have 0 star, I will give 0 star. The lady on the counter is very very very rude to the all clients. I heard she said the take out client he request one more chopstick, and she said why don't mention when you order? very rude and loud voice. And the table is very very dirty-looks like never cleaning. I try to clean up 5 times with wet towel and still not clean and when I use rest room I saw lots of Rotches inside bath room. This is totally mass up. I never go this restaurant again. Very disappointed. Usually before Covid 19, this restaurant was my favorate but not any more. Looks like new ownership Food taste changed.

I don't remember the last time I left any restaurant without finishing my meal. I don't think I ever did that until today. This was my meal and that how I left. It was so salty that it was not edible. I added a cup of hot water, but still salty. It had good amount and variety of ingredients, but broth was horrible. This is my favorite dish when I go to Korean Chinese restaurants. It is impossible to mess up this bad. Maybe Mr Paik should visit these restaurants in SolCal.

It had absolutely no flavor. In the past, at least it had a familiar, chain-restaurant taste that made it tolerable, but not anymore. Total waste of money. I took one bite and threw the whole thing away. Your money and your stomach deserve better.

I used to be a regular here, visiting once or twice a week when I first discovered it. Sadly, after a few months away, my visit today (2/9/2026) was a major letdown. The tangsu-yuk was gummy and chewy rather than crispy (without the sauce); since I live less than 5 minutes away, I know it wasn’t a travel time issue. The jajangmyeon has also changed—the portion is smaller, but more importantly, the sauce lacked the signature sweet, salty, and smoky 'fire' taste it used to have. I’ve remained a loyal customer despite the recent franchise controversies because the food was that good, but the quality just isn't there anymore, making the price point much harder to justify. I’m not sure I’ll be back.
