I give this establishment my highest recommendation! Brian was very friendly and patient when he helped me go through all the options on the menu. The food was fresh and flavorful. I appreciated the simplicity of the ambience. You order drinks and food at the counter, which are delivered to you at your table.

I did the “build your own” option with a mix of brown rice and salad base, tofu protein, and fiery red curry sauce (with most of the free toppings). The flavors were strong and balanced (pleasant level of heat, hints of basil, noticeable but not overpowering acidity, etc) and the ingredients tasted crisp and fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It’s a little pricey given the amount of food ($15.18 after tax and no added meat or topping prices), but I think that’s just how things are these days.

"Designated Gluten free " this phrase is as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack. But guess what I found this rare gem due to google maps. Right about when I thought I am going to die of hunger due to a lack of gluten free food options I stumbled across this place. The food was delicious. It's got a fast food feel to it but the food is anything but fast food. It's healthy, hearty and scrumptious. I ordered the chicken Banh mi, tofu rolls and wings i ate at the speed of light hence no pics lol !!

Good fast casual spot for asian fusion type rice bowls. My wife and I ate here right after a quick run around Burlingame and Asian Box bowls were just the right thing!

Food always good, lots of tasty choices, but NOBODY wipes off the tables. Always do it myself, but what the hell. Good idea that works for me.

I'd give 5 stats but the kids really need to keep the washroom clean. My GF was unable to.use as it was a complete pig sty.

Food was pretty tasty. But I feel just a little too expensive. They should try to keep it under $10.00 and put less food in the box, no wonder there are so many fat people! It's always great to see a new place with fairly healthy vegetarian options. Asian Box is yet another build-your-own style order-at-the-counter restaurant. A box consists of a base (jasmine rice, brown rice, chilled rice noodles or Asian salad), protein, toppings and sauce. All boxes also include sauce tossed vegetables. The only vegetarian protein option is tofu, which has a coconut curry flavor. I had this on brown rice and all the toppings (except fresh jalapeno). For the sauce, I selected Miss Jones' Sriracha. All the ingredients seem quite fresh and the sauces are pretty tasty. I washed it all down with a Vietnamese chicory coffee. It's cold brew rather than drip, but it's still pretty good. The company also seems to be committed to protecting the environment. All their packaging is either compostable or recyclable.

Food was very good. I love that everything is gluten free. Only thing is bathroom wasn't clean or stocked. Tables were sticky, shouldn't be the case as I arrived at opening. First customer of the day.

I ordered 'the workout' and was happy with my order. Portions seem reasonable for the price and there are a lot of quick, healthy options. The reason for 4 stars is there was inedible gristle in almost every bite of my chicken.

The food is pretty good, with one small complaint about the rice being a little hard and flavorless. Maybe use Thai rice to get better results? It's slightly on the pricey side for pretty generic Asian (more Vietnamese really) food. Nice space and comfortable seating. The ordering process can be ironed out a bit more. They sometimes run out of paper, and it's required to fill out the form if you want to customize your lunch box. Perhaps mobile web or an app would make this better? Overall a good new option to Burlingame Ave.

Fresh, crunchy, delicious asian themed meal boxes that deliver healthy balanced meals in an appealing format. The rice can keep cooking in the takeout boxes to look like / feel lumpy when you get to eat it.

The service is what you'd expect from a little shop where you order the food before sitting. Decent, not great. Food is mega good. Will return for the food.

I love this place. It’s one of my favorites and although the prices are a little high, the food is always amazing. Their 5-Spice chicken is the best and I absolutely love their Red, Yellow and Green Curries! The restaurant is also clean and the employees are nice and they make the food fresh and fast. Would definitely recommend.

And even though I had sauce on the side, it was still quite soggy at the bottom of my container, and I had to eat it as quickly as possible so it wouldn’t stain all of my stuff. However, the service was fantastic, and I really like the decor of the restaurant.

Feels like a catering restaurant and a bit like “fake” Asian food. Definitely not worth it for the price After ordering staff didn’t give a receipt say thank you or indicate whether he’d give me a number or something until I prompted him.

I've been eating here for years and the portion sizes have been steadily getting worse and worse. I ordered pho and there was barely enough broth to cover the noodles. How do you skimp on BROTH!?

Service is horrible. I don't know what it is with this place but they don't care about my delivery service. I came in and ask for the order by name. She tells me to give them a few minutes, I said ok. A few later she ask me who I am picking up for, I gave her the name. She tells me again to wait a few minutes. Then she ask me a third time. I observed that the ticket was not even printed and set to the kitchen. This got me very upset because the ticket should have been printed when I walked in and not been told wait for a few minutes twice.

A hip, trendy, fusion bento place that's good for a casual and quick bite for lunch. I ordered a caramelized catfish dish and really enjoyed it, the catfish seemed to be very nicely cooked, however the sauce included smelled like a dirty dog and it was quite off-putting. While not the best because of the strange sauce, I still thoroughly enjoyed, however I discovered later that my gut was screaming at me for going with the catfish. I might try again sometime but if I do, definitely not getting the catfish. TLDR: CATFISH NO GOOD.

Had the salmon salad which was prepared well and the portions were about right. I'd give it more stars for the service and the cleanliness but the prices are just a little high for what you get.

Not exactly a good value as you don't get much food. For fake Asian food its just alright. You would be better off going down the block to even faker Asian food ala panda express where you will get a larger quantity for less albeit somewhat lower quality. If you are taking out I would recommend nearby cherimoya take out restaurant instead. Much better value and better flavor with a larger selection.

Food quality and flavors are pretty good. Take-out service is efficient. Unfortunately they package hot food in plastic, which is really not cool.

Unfortunately it’s not the same as when it first started. With each subsequent visit our experience has been declining. It’s just not tasty anymore and it’s too expensive, like it shouldn’t have 1/3 of the box to be pickled carrots, it’s just too sour.

I have enjoyed the food at Burlingame Asian Box for a while, and I was craving it! Ordered a bowl with shrimp and steak. Unfortunately, both were overcooked, and the steak was tough, almost leather-like. I was missing herbs: cilantro and mint, and the pickled veggies that I believe have been included in the past. The tamarind sauce was unpleasantly salty, and the lime was utterly dry. I’m hoping they just had a bad night, but at nearly $30 (double protein), I’m not sure I want to take another chance on this place!

I did not like it, wasn't too expensive but the food was just meh. I got the shrimp with rice and everything. Shrimp was ok but rice wasn't very good. I would only try again if it didn't cost me anything.

Decline in quality. Portions have shrunk significantly - about 2/3 of the box. Steak was flavorless and dry. It is pricey for the quality and the size.

I like this place but people who work here need do a better job cleaning! The cafe is almost empty, almost all tables are dirty, the person at the cashier is sipping her drink doing nothing...she could probably use this time to clean all the tables! We asked her to clean a table, she came by wiped a couple times, left with some food residual still on the table! I had to clean it again!

Check your to-go order before you leave. They have messed up ours twice now, even when a tip is left. Most recently we are short one person’s dinner. Not service focused.

Go to a different one. This one serves half sized portions. Before the person makes your food they ask for a tip. Other locations will serve you a full box, this one must pay a commission to underserve portion sizes.

I have a peanut allergy and specifically marked such on my order. Yet here I am writing from the emergency room because I had an allergic reaction. People with allergies avoid at all costs! They are not allergy friendly at all, even if they pretend to be.

I don’t like the food here. It tastes like Americanized Vietnamese food. If your looking for Vietnamese food I would go somewhere else. Also their customer service sucks.

High prices, can't even get your order right. I ordered and was charged for the green chicken curry only to discover that they forgot the chicken...paid $14 for a veggie curry...

Customer service was bad. They were just standing in the back of the counter chit chatting and didn't even bother acknowledging that we were standing there waiting. After we had our food, we got terrible stomach aches that sent us immediately to the rest room. Horrible experience.

Sad to report that this place has gone way downhill. The workers just have no care, urgency, or real want to be here. We have been waiting 25 mins for a Bahn Mi and the kids working/cooking are just joking around. Tables all dirty, no water available. Sad to see as I loved this place as a GF visitor.
