This was way worth it only thing is I would get is potatoes instead of pasta if you get the chefs special. It was great and worth it went with my girl for the first time. I would go here again. The steak was amazing!!! I'm picky when it comes to meat I got mines well done and it was so good I felt fat. I didn't have to eat the rest of the day

Sorry for the half eaten pic but this food was good good I couldn't help myself. I got the captain's Platter for $48 and it was 100% worth every penny. If you are looking for a night out with your partner this is a phenomenal choice in a very picturesque area.

Nolan's on Canandaigua Lake is always the most amazing experience! This place is clean and friendly, with great service and absolutely fantastic food! If you're looking for a fancy date this is the place to go! Over summer you can enjoy the outdoor patio overlooking the lake, or sit inside by the fireplace for a cozy experience.

Nolan's catered our wedding. The food was AMAZING. 10/10 would recommend. Everyone raved about the food. For apps we had: 1. Bacon wrapped scallops 2. Grilled cheese and tomato soup 3. Short Rib Tostado 4. Crab Cakes For the dinner, we had three options: 1. Filet 2. Chicken French 3. Salmon All three were delicious. Chicken had great flavor, Filet cut like butter, and salmon was cooked great. For our sides, we had: 1. Potatoes au Gratin, which was SOOO GOOD 2. Sautéed Carrots (these were meh - I would probably get a different side or make sure that they plated full carrots and cooked them more). All in all, they did a great job and Kristen our day of coordinator was AMAZING.

We came here on a whim, because our two top options when coming into town were closed. We couldn't have been happier by the time we left. The reuben was great, my wife got the bacon wrapped scallops and we split some garlic bread which was phenomenal.

I was here once the food was good, but the lady had the idea to put the highchair upside down or baby carrier and that wasn’t stable enough. I was not happy about it and never suggest that again. The baby was fine.

The food was amazing !!!! Our waiter " Marshall" was a absolute professional !! My wife ordered the Maryland crab cake meal " fabulous" and french onion crock " fantastic" . I ordered the Sheridan and loaded potato puffs " awesome" !!! Did you ever spend 100$ on a meal and felt like you didn't get your monies worth ? NOT here, the meal was worth every penny !! Oh and I hope that you have a big appetite because the plates are loaded. Everything tasted like it was made fresh that day !! I forgot to take pictures of our main meal "sorry"

Service from top to bottom was fantastic. The food...even better. Started with the coconut shrimp, which was superb with honey and mango haberno dipping sauce; not hot at all, just intense flavor. French soup was very cheesy and tasty (says the better half). Main courses of a lobster roll with melted butter for me and the mixed broiled with North Atlantic Cod, jumbo shrimp and jumbo sea scallops. Also, a crab cake...all were divine! Will be back. P.s. we got desert to go...haven't had it yet.

A friend and I wanted to enjoy a day in Canandaigua away from work. We made reservations for Nolan's. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was very good. We tried a special appetizer which was delicious. Atmosphere was such that I would like to bring my family from out of town to go there for special occasions.

We had a variety of meals Chicken French, Mixed Broil with Lobster Tail, Lobster Roll and Captain’s Platter. Ended the night with a SPARKLING Cherry Cheesecake for the birthday boy! Thank you Nolan’s, we will be back!

They were quite busy for a Wednesday afternoon but were able to accommodate us and we had lunch pretty quickly. Food was tasty, slightly dry chicken salad but otherwise good, nice sized portions and great drinks. Server was pleasant and efficient. Over all a good experience.

My family has enjoyed dining at Nolan’s for so many years that I am concerned I have already written a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review for them! 😂 Regardless, in August of 2025, Nolan’s still delivers a fine dining experience for our favotite meals, lunch and dinner. We appreciate the restaurant’s atmosphere created by their seasonal decor, and their friendly, “we’re happy you chose to dine here” attitude when we arrive. Everyone who visits a restaurant on a regular basis appreciates prompt, friendly service and menu selections that are prepared in a consistent fashion (the crab cakes taste just like they did the last time I enjoyed them). Give Nolan’s an opportunity to provide you with a fine dining experience.

Wow, this is one of the thickest pieces of steak I have ever eaten! Had the NY Striploin, and it did not disappoint! I would like to apologize for the smearing of the sour cream on the loaded potato, I was too eager to dive right into my meal. The potato was also cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a nice steakhouse with seafood options in Canandaigua, this place is a must.

Beautiful place- very clean and welcoming. We love to sit in the booth near the fire place- you feel warm and comfortable, like at home. Food is excellent: looks like cook knows his own secret of preparing meat and sauces. Excellent and fast service. Rayan makes your visit highly important to the restaurant- he is exceptionally attentive to your wishes and choices. His service is so highly professional that you do not need to call him - he is here even if you move your eyes. He knows everything of each meal on menu and his suggestions are very helpful. It is your lucky day if Rayan assists you in food suggestions

We came here after my son propose to his now fiancée at Sonnenberg Gardens. The atmosphere at Nolan’s is exceptional. The service from beginning to end was wonderful! I didn’t take one pic of my food but everyone enjoyed their meals and the appetizers also. I will return again. Perfect restaurant love it so much!

Great food, service, and environment. The newly rebuilt nolans is very nice. We had the Texas pickles, delmonico over smashed potatoes, my strip with sweet potato wedges, and finished with a slice of peanut butter pie. Everything was cooked to perfection and was delicious.

First time coming here. We went for our 5 year anniversary and we were very satisfied. Amazing food and great wait staff! Highly recommend the cowboy steak (best steak I've ever ordered from a restaurant) and the filet mignon!

T
TOG YMK

The food was phenomenal, even the Tuna steak over rice appetizer that was out of our usual palette (I forgot the actual name of it). Some of the best food we've had in the area! However, the steaks were bordering being too salty. The saltiness even overpowered the cheese sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly to a medium rare, though. Not enough to knock a star, but enough that I'd mention it for anyone trying to keep their sodium levels down.

Nice seafood and pasta and meat dishes on the menu. Sizable selection of daily specials. Real chef cooking. Appetizers were a great combination of ingredients. Great service. Very big and various rooms and settings. Reasonable prices. When you say you want to go out to a "nice restaurant" this is the kind of place you mean. The owner even stopped to check on our table.

Took my son's girlfriend here for her 17th birthday. We had dinner reservations and only had to wait a few moments. The hostess and the busser were extremely wonderful and took great care of us. Our waitress was not rude directly but very inattentive and rushed when she dealt with us; we were very confused as to why. It was so bad that she would literally just reach her hand around the wall to plop something on our table, only quickly came by once to check on us, and the most hilarious part -even though I had announced that we had a birthday girl at our table when we were ordering drinks/appetizers- the waitress literally just called over her shoulder as she was leaving the dining area to ask if we "wanted coffee or dessert". God forbid she come to our table and ask if we'd like to see a dessert menu or tell us our choices!!! Her name is Lydia, according to the receipt, and her service was so bad it was amusing! 5 stars for this place in spite of Lydia. I actually consider the prices quite fair and the quality and portions excellent. My only gripe would be the sticker shock of the $16 coconut shrimp appetizer. It was a special so the price was a surprise. Otherwise no issues with pricing. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp with its dipping sauce and the bread that was brought to our table looked mouthwatering! But I believe they gave us an old batch because it was cold and CHEWY like microwaved pizza crust! Can't wait to go back and try it fresh. Even with the little quirks we truly did have a nice dinner and then enjoyed the lake afterwards. I suggest trying their lobster roll which is large and tasty and the fries are really good, too. The pasta dishes were huge, and the chicken French was a giant portion. I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly. We'll be back but hopefully we don't get Lydia!

I love the fact that Nolans offers a dietary menu. We visited Nolans for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Although the dietary menu was unavailable for lunch the server suggested we could order the salmon and the cook would prepare it. I highly reccomend the salmon entree. It was a nice sized portion cooked to perfection. Lunch entree came with two sides to choose from. When we entered Nolans hostess greeted us promptly and there wasn't a wait for the table. Tables are spacious seating is comfortable. The inside dining is inviting and dressed to taste. We started with the shrimp cocktail for the entree. Shrimp was large and set in a shaved iced bowl with cocktail sauce. Food appearance was scaled at a 5 star rating. The shrimp cocktail was pricey for the amount received. Server was friendly Profesional and helpful. I would dine again at Nolans but next time around I'd like to try out the dinner menu.

First time and definitely not the last time! It's much more casual than I expected but not in a bad way. The food was amazing and timed perfectly. Started with the stuffed mushrooms, French onion, and seafood chowder. I could eat a couple dozen of the mushrooms and a gallon each of the soups. Wife had the lobster ravioli while I had the prime rib. Ravioli were creamy and melted in your mouth with a whole tail. The prime rib was cooked exactly how it should be. So very tender and the mashed potatoes were just like how I would cook them. Wife finished off with the creme Brulee in a chocolate shell. The only disappointing part is that it has Hershey's syrup. I did also have the Cesar, and while the dressing was delicious, there was just too much and felt like I was eating bites of flavored mayo at times.

Nolan's, what a phenomenal dining experience. Pictures do not do the size of the shrimp cocktail justice. We ordered 3 entrees to try. The Mixed Broil, Filet Dinner and the Chicken French. All we cooked to perfection. The chicken was incredibly tender in a lemon sherry sauce. This, paired with linguine pasta with a garlic butter sauce, was enjoyable. The filet was cuttable with a butter knife and was not under seasoned. By far, and all the dishes were great, the Mixed Broil was the showstopper. The cod was like butter. The scallops and shrimp so soft and effortless to enjoy. This dish was the best seasoned with flavors that made you close your eyes and say "Mmmmmmm". A broil is not on the top of my list to order anywhere so when we picked this as the best of the night we were surprised. I could never come back without ordering this dish. Desserts were lemon cheesecake, carrot cake and creme brulee. I'd have to say the desserts were just typical desserts you'd get anywhere and quite sweet for our palettes. It honestly didn't make a difference as far as the rating of Nolan's. Five stars and well deserved for the quality and service we experienced this evening.

We are Newbies in town, and thought we'd come check out Nolan's for a midweek date night. I'm so happy we did! The hostess was fantastic and very charming - the food was remarkable (particularly the Seafood Chowder!! 😍😍😍) and they have a large selection of cocktails, beer, and wine (without being overwhelming) We will be visiting again soon!

We went to Nolan's for the first time recently to celebrate a special occasion and we will definitely be back! All of the food was amazing right down to the desserts. We were visiting family and when I googled restaurants with seafood & steaks, Nolan’s popped up. My niece and I ordered the salmon special & it was delicious! My sister ordered the captains platter & she said that was delicious too. Her meal was $62 and our salmon was $35 each if I recall. Our server was delightful. We had reserved our table online and our seating was elevated and more private than the tables below. I would definitely return to this restaurant. We don’t have a single complaint.

We celebrated my daughter's bridal shower at Nolan's, I couldn't have been more wowed! The room was beautiful, well lit with natural light, a view to boats on the water and beautiful foliage. The service was attentive, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, served plated and hot! Perfect lunch portions. The room accommodated 25 comfortably and the cost was very reasonable! I highly recommend Nolan's most especially for their warm welcome and hospitality.

So thankful for Andrea and the team that took care of my parents on their 58th wedding anniversary! I called to arrange desserts to be delivered to their table at the end of the meal as a surprise to them, and they executed the plan perfectly. The desserts were delivered with “Happy Anniversary” written on the plate and sparkly candles. It was truly a surprise to them, and I can’t thank the Nolan’s Team enough for taking care of all the details.

Nolan's is a local treasure and it's always a treat to visit here. It's a beautiful new building with amazing staff. My husband had the Mixed Broil which he loved. I had lobster ravioli (be sure to see my picture) which was over-the-top delicious. Every drop off the sauce was a flavor treat and there was more tender/sweet lobster on top of the raviolis than I would have hoped for. It was a very generous portion. It was a special treat to sit at the bar and enjoy service from the lovely Shiloh. We've already made reservations to go back next Friday with another couple. I will probably order this again.

My husband's work had their end of the year work dinner and this place was so good. They had our room and tables all ready. They put name cards at chairs because in the middle of the week we let them know what we wanted. Which was great for them to do. The servers were so great and attentive to drinks if they were low or gone and plates were taken when we were done. I chose the Steak and Shrimp Chimichurri with a garden salad with avocado ranch. For dessert I chose a Peanut Butter Pie which was so delicious. They also brought out rolls with a honey butter. I highly recommend. This is a little pricey but you are getting amazing portions which makes it so worth it.

We finally made it here after all of the family talking it up for years - got treated to a birthday dinner on a Saturday night. Were able to make reservations for 4:45 the day before. Service was good, atmosphere was nice and comfy, but for some reason I expected fancier when looking at the menu ahead of time. But we value comfort over fancieness every day, so it was all good to us. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Dad raved about his shrimp cocktail, and they said their bacon wrapped scallops were perfectly done. My favorite item of everything was the Potato Puffs appetizer, which I may just get for my main next time. DELICIOUS! Description doesn't do them justice. Hubby's burger came as ordered and the french onion soup was very good. We'll be back if they offer to pay and take us back next year! Would be nice over the summer, too, I'm sure, on the water. Pics included of everyone's food. :)

Went for dinner on a Saturday early evening for our anniversary. Made reservations with Open Table which I highly recommend. Our wait was less than 5 minutes from arriving. We were waited on very quickly. Katia was our waitress. She was truly the greatest. Every recommendation she gave us was spot on AMAZING. From the drinks to food everything was cooked/made to perfection. We were so impressed with the service and how delicious the food was. We will definitely be back. We thought it was sweet of them to add the happy anniversary sign and then decorating our desert plate. It really was a sweet touch to an already perfect dining experience.

This place is well worth the trip . Great customer service and ambience and food.is delicious . This was my first time visiting Nolan's , but I'll be back to try some more dishes. I had mixed broil. Cod, shrimp, and scallops....perfectly prepared. Update review 10/24. We enjoyed a delicious dinner. Salmon special, scallops and mixed broil. All the items were cooked perfectly. Lived the smashed potatoes. They provide complimentary bread . The ambiance is warm, cozy and inviting . We loved the fireplace and the cozy booth. Good drinks and friendly staff.

We had not been to Nolan's for a while so stopped in for a drink and bite to eat at the bar. Had a wonderful time. Our bartender was great, food and drinks were delicious, the other patrons were delightful and the abundance of TVs was a bonus. We look forward to going back.

The food here was Amazing! Everything was skillfully executed. The stuffed mushrooms with bernaise are a must. Probably some of the best bernaise I've ever had. It was creamy , rich well balanced...hard to do without splitting. The seafood chowder was loaded with scallops, shrimp, & lobster...the best chowder I've ever had. ( I've probably had hundreds over the years)It wasn't too thick, and was well seasoned. I didn't like the Mule that I had. The ginger beer they used was too aggressive and overly floral. However the Dirty Martini was well done and we appreciated the options to have different style olives. The Berry Smash was also good. My husband had the Pork Chop dinner and was day dreaming about eating another one the next day! It was juicy, well seasoned with well rendered crispy fat edges. Would absolutely eat there again!

We’ve been to Nolan’s several times and it seems to be getting better. Went there Saturday night for a birthday dinner and it was really great. Bacon-wrapped scallops, steaks, filet and lobster tails and an awesome pork chop special were all top notch. The desserts took things to even another level! Fast, friendly (quirky!) service and decent prices. And of course a great location in Canandaigua. Great!

We wanted to share what an incredible experience we had with two of your employees yesterday. Casandra at the front and Jake at the bar. My husband and I were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and have a 14 week old baby, I called and spoke with Casandra asking if I could place a pick up order. She had explained to me that unfortunately it isn’t something that your restaurant offers, I was disappointed and explained how it was our anniversary and being new parents it’s hard to find time to celebrate us go out and have a nice dinner. Casandra congratulated us on the big life events and said sometimes if we go to the bar, we can place a to go order as long as it isn’t too busy. She then offered to go check with the bar for me, came back on the phone and said Jake was willing to put the order in for us, once we came into the restaurant. My husband went in and Jake took care of him immediately, we had our food in no time. Jake made sure to see our order through from the beginning to end. I cannot describe how grateful I am for these two employees. They went above and beyond with their service, made us new parents feel so special. The food was delicious and our experience couldn’t have been better. Jake and Casandra, thank you for taking the time to go the extra mile and make this new mom and dad feel like a million bucks.

I don’t write many reviews but when I do I feel it is worth my time and helpful for those looking for a quality restaurant experience. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful time at Nolan’s for one of many annniv meals. Our server was Kristen and she was fantastic. She was kind and knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful in checking for my food allergies. The food was phenomenal. Appetizer, salad, main entree and dessert. It is rare that we enjoy every course but not this time. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service and the food was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend Nolan’s.

Nolan's was so frickin good, my girls and I went back the next night for dinner after our initial visit for lunch 🤣. For lunch, I had this Mediterranean quinoa salad with gorgonzola dressing that was so flavorfully creative and light. Then I enjoyed their chicken salad (would suggest adding bacon and provolone) on this golden, garlicky foccacia bread. We then overheard the waitress going through their desserts and that was our trigger to come back for dinner. For dinner I had these succulent crab cakes with their Sriracha ranch over a luscious bed of asparagus, asiago risotto. And, to top it all off, their delicious and creamy peanut butter pie. Ya'll a sista could have died, and I would have been deeply pleased that it was my last meal.🙌🏾 Last, but definitely not least, we were provided the most outstanding standard of service by the oh so lovely Jasmine. She was holding down both sides of the house with impeccable style, a sweet smile, swiftness, and charisma that left us with the best dinning experience. Give that woman a raise! 💓

We are visiting the Finger Lakes area for a few days and this restaurant was recommended by a Finger Lakes Facebook group. I also based my choice on the reviews in here. We walked in at 7 PM and were immediately greeted and seated right away. Kelley came by the table and introduced herself as our server. We both started out with wine, I had a red blend and my partner had Chardonnay. I didn’t order an appetizer, but my partner ordered a Caesar salad and it was very good. I tried it, and I liked that it was more of a chopped Caesar salad. The rolls with the honey butter were excellent. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare with mashed red skin potatoes and asparagus. My partner had the seafood mixed broil with coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. It was a big portion and he ended up bringing about half of back to our Airbnb. Both meals were excellent. We decided to pass on dessert and enjoyed some of the cookies we bought at a farmers market nearby. The space was very nice and looked fairly new to us and it was well taken care of. We asked Kelley when the restaurant opened and she said in 2011. This restaurant is a nice choice if you’re in the area.

My husband and I went for dinner on Sunday. He really enjoyed the seafood chowder. All the food was lovely and tasty. I ordered twin lobster tails and he had a strip steak. The restaurant and restroom was clean. Nice atmosphere. The dinner rolls we sooo delicious crusty and crunchy on the outside and soft and warm in the middle. The calamari was good. Visited again over the weekend and really enjoyed the turkey stuffing balls. The pork with pumpkin ravioli was delicious!

This place is a real find. Normally, we wouldn't drive more than an hour for a great meal, but this restaurant is certainly worth a drive of 1 hour and 20 minutes from Syracuse. For an appetizer, I chose the French onion soup. When available, I often order this at restaurants and I make a very good version of it at home following an Alton Brown recipe. This restaurant serves a French onion soup as good as the best I've had anywhere. The broth was very dark and flavorful, appropriately salty, and the cheese was stringy and tasty. My meal was off to an excellent start. From the pub menu I ordered a lobster roll with french fries and coleslaw. The lobster roll was served with warm melted butter as is the custom in Connecticut, as opposed to the cold mayonnaise-based lobster salad served in Maine. Very tender and delicious claw meat was used and the roll was toasted and pillowy. Definitely a step up from the normal New England-style hot dog roll. Keeping with their attention to detail, the French fries were crispy and hot, and the coleslaw, made with purple cabbage, was not served just to add color to the plate, but to be eaten and enjoyed. An absolutely delicious meal, and the service was excellent. We'll be back. I would note that the name of the restaurant "Nolan's on Canandaigua Lake" is a bit misleading. The original location of the restaurant may have been on the lake, but at its current location you can only see the lake in the distance through gaps between other buildings from several windows on their porch. So, come here for the excellent food rather than the view. UPDATE-1: On our second visit, we both ordered, and very much enjoyed, the lobster roll. As appetizers my wife tried the meatballs in marinara sauce with ricotta cheese and I ordered a cup of sausage gumbo soup. Both were delicious. Here's hoping the owners will decide to open a second location in Syracuse, New York.

The place is pretty good size with lots of tables. I would recommend reservations. The steak was slightly overdone, but tasted good. The potatoes are very lumpy. Flavor was ok. The surf n turf was good. The steak was very tender and scallops cooked just right. The lobster roll was tasty and the fries were very crispy. The salmon rolls were interesting and tasted very good. The French onion soup was really good and flavorful. The peanut butter pie and carrots cake were just ok. The flavor was weak. The cheese cake has decent flavor, the consistency is fairly dense. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The place is clean. The big negative for this place is limited parking. The place is quite pricey but overall worth the price.

5+ stars for service. Amazing staff! Went on a busy Friday evening for dinner with kids. Lobster pasta was delicious!! Steak was medium well inside as requested but was overcooked on outside. Calamari undercooked inside was a bit tough to chew so didn't have much. Dining experience with the fantastic staff is just perfect for family so would absolutely recommend!

09/2021: Food was good, service was great. Our server Amanda was very nice, helpful, and joyful to talk to. It was nice that they squeezed us in late in the evening. Great atmosphere. 06/2022 Update: Service and food are consistently great. During lunch the buffalo chicken wrap is delicious. For dinner the calamari is good as always, the lobster roll is even better, and who doesn’t love a good burger. Finishing dinner off with carrot cake that is to die for is the perfect way to do it. 10/10.

Nice place with good ambience. The salmon special was delicious. It was some of the best salmon I've ever had. The porterhouse was also delicious (although it was overdone when it first came out, but that was quickly and easily corrected by our server and the kitchen). The service was great. I'll go back for any main course, but skip the desserts. They aren't made in house and I was very disappointed in the chocolate raspberry cake.

We had delicious mixed drinks, for apps we had the bacon wrapped scallops, bacon was nice and crispy. We had the lobster ravioli and ny strip with a hefty amount of sweet potato fries.

Went for lunch. All 4 of us were slightly disappointed in the lack of selection on the lunch menu, we thought there would be a slightly larger variety to choose from. 3 got burgers which were decent (just lacked in selection) and I got a wedge salad (way too much dressing) and the seafood chowder (which was delicious). Maybe I would be more satisfied with their dinner menu? I would be willing to try it but I’m afraid I won’t be going back for lunch again unless they add to or change their lunch menu. The ambiance and decor were decent but no lake view. The entry doors are quite heavy making it harder for the elderly to open. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nolan's took our reservation the day of just a few hours before dinner. When we got there, we were seated a few minutes past our reservation time. The waitress took a lengthy time to come back and get our order (after checking to see if we were ready and we were not yet). There aren't too many wines served there that are actually made in the finger lakes so being a visitor, that was a bummer. The captains platter was actually a great deal. The steak was cooked perfectly, the lobster was portioned well, the veggies were cooked tenderly & the tomato basil dressing on the salad was delicious. The scallops were melt-in-your-mouth perfect. The penne was slightly over cooked. They serve a great bread. The jumbo shrimp and cocktail sauce had a nice spice. We ended the night with a peanut butter pie which was more like I thick buckeye filling but it was decadent. The staff was rushed but kind. Overall, our time at Nolan's was good and we left very satisfied.

The atmosphere is nice. My pork chop special was absolutely delicious. The bar staff seemed irritated, rushed, hurried and annoyed. Our waiter forced a smile and was kind, but there was a tension in the air with the employees. The food was tasty.

The food is delicious and they have great choices. Drinks are also very good. The wait is a little longer than we thought it would be but it was worth it. They also have month special that you should try.

Angus, our server, was very nice and did a great job. The calimari was different than anything I've ever had and quite delicious with its roasted red peppers and cream sauce. There was one male employee that wanted to clear our plates twice before we were finished. Otherwise our time was enjoyable and the food was good

We hosted a celebration this past weekend, and the food and atmosphere were both great. However, the flatbread was soggy and inedible, which was a disappointment. We informed our server and the recovery to provide another option was poor. We asked for a salad instead. The drinks were good though.

We had dinner a couple of nights ago and it was mildly disappointing. I thought it was going to be a high end restaurant to match the high end pricing but it wasn’t. People wearing shorts and t-shirts; staff and patrons were dressed very casually. The entrance was beyond congested when we arrived with lots of people waiting to be seated. The restaurant was very busy. We had to make reservations and the only availability was outside. It was hot and humid but we didn’t have an option except to eat outdoors. The service was exceptional!! The food was okay. My husband loved his meal and appetizer. My son and I both ordered NY strip medium rare and both came to us medium. The portions are huge!!! The cocktail shrimp was very good! And we loved the lemonade. I didn’t feel that quality of meal matched the pricing. I wouldn’t go back 😕

A very nice, just not great . Food wasn't that tasty. Average restaurant interior. I only went there once and had the salmon. But it is one of the good restaurants in town.

We just returned from our first, and last, dinner at Nolan's. We've come from Texas to revisit the Finger Lakes, especially Canandaigua, for the third time. The trip has a lot of features and one of them that we most anticipated was dinner at this highly rated institution just off the north end of the lake. What a disappointment! We dressed up for the first time on our trip, got there early, had drinks while reviewing the menu - all the trappings of a nice night out. In the end, it was pretty much a wasted effort. Cutting to the chase: service was hurried at first, then absent at the end. My wife's $44 filet was burned on the outside while still being medium rare on the inside. She had seen the pink interior so accepted the plate, but halfway through admitted it just wasn't good. I tried it and the outside was charred beyond flavor, with a sharp, acidic flavor. We cut it off and she finished it. During this time our wine glasses sat empty and Danielle, our server, never came by. Maybe some more wine would've helped. When we finished we waited awhile longer, then asked a passing busser if she could send Danielle over. We could see her tending to other tables in the room, but no visits to our table after delivering the entrees. 10 minutes later Daniel finally came to the table, delivered a quick "Desert?", even though we were prepared to discuss the meal. I think she could tell that we hadn't enjoyed the meal - no "How was everything?" or any other inquiries into our satisfaction. When she returned with the check she dropped it and ran with a quick "Thank you", barely a fly-by. We dine out more than anyone we know - lunch and/or dinner every single day (yes we do). We can't remember having been completely ignored for so long, at any restaurant in any price range, let alone "fine dining". If the food had been great we might've let the service go. If the service had been great we might've let the one bad entree go. But both? For over $200? Nope.

Love this place but last time we went, left a bad taste. The hostess was rude and advised us that it would take anywhere from 5 minutes to two hours to sit down. Not a typical protocol in food industry. The bar tender was horrific. She acted as if requesting a drink menu was unheard of and very rude. Waitress and food were good but as always, first impressions are everything. Spoke to the owner who seemed uninterested in my complaint. Made excuses and never followed back up. Not actions of a professional owner!

Very disappointed in the lobster roll. The lobster was not fresh, very soggy and fishy. I could only eat half. It was nicely presented but I would not chance it again. Service was good. Drinks are always good here

My Wife and I tried Nolan's for the first time while we stayed at the Lake House. We chose to sit inside and were seated right away, although there seemed to be a wait for outdoor seating. With that being said I'd be sure to make a reservation if you plan to go at a peak time. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. It came with 2 decent sized meatballs topped with lots of cheese and great red sauce. Overall, I'd give them a 5/5 for the meatballs. For our main course, I ordered the pub burger, and my wife order the Bruschetta flatbread. She LOVED hers. It was a great balance between crispy and soft. My Pub burger was "iight". They forgot my bacon (which every burger needs in my humble opinion), but the server ran back and grabbed some. The burger wasn't anything special to be honest. 3/5. The fries however, were very good and cooked to perfection. 5/5. Our server was very nice, but didn't come around that often. They seemed very busy, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt this time. If you're in the area, its for sure a decent place to grab a quick bite to eat.

Im not sure what I expect at Nolans.... but I never get my money's worth, or at least it doesnt feel like it. The cocktail was good, but the food is always underwhelming for the cost. Honestly, the best thing we had the $20 calamari, and that price is kind of crazy. Been there twice but I think we will try other places in the future for our anniversary dinner.

We had a phenomenal experience the first night we went out for dinner at Nolan’s while we were visiting the Finger Lakes area. The server was very kind to accommodate the fact one of us was celiac and double-check that dishes were gluten-free with the kitchen if she was unsure. The atmosphere was peaceful, easy for conversation and not rushed. We enjoyed the meal and time at Nolan’s so much that we went back the following night. However our experience was unfortunately very different as we had an older lady as our waitress who made us feel the celiac disease was a complete inconvenience for her to serve our table. After asking for the pasta dish without the pasta (which was simply grilled chicken with the sauce and broccoli) she begrudgingly went to the kitchen to ask the chef if the sauce was gluten-free. I apologized to the waitress for any inconvenience I was to her and tried to gently explain that celiac is not a choice but an autoimmune disease to which she interrupted and said she knew and it was fine. This is the exact experience every celiac person dreads when going out for dinner to feel they are a complete nuisance and hassle. If this had been our first night experience we would not have returned to this restaurant and would have given it a 2-star review as the horrible customer service experience put a real damper on the whole evening.

Spent $150 for takeout on two meals, an appetizer, and a shared dessert. Overall the food was good tasting, but had a lot of issues. The garlic breads cheese was not melted in any way, so most fell off. The lobster ravioli tasted amazing, but it was absolutely full of shells. I got 6 pieces of shell in the one dish. The sea food plate was good, but they forgot the side. The dessert, peanut butter pie, was completely smashed. It was so strong we couldn’t eat it. I expected better from Nolan’s. Pretty disappointing to spend that much and have the food be subpar. Though we have never had an issue dining in. Rated a 3 because they’re usually good, though I’ve only been in for lunch the other times. Only drove 5 minutes home before eating, added a photo of the pie.

My daughter and I went here for lunch. The hostess seated us promptly and was very courteous and friendly. The waitress dropped off some water right away. She then came back within 2 minutes and told us the specials which was great. Then said are you ready to order? I consider Nolans a high end restaurant. The next question should be can I take your drink order and give you some time with the menu. I ordered the Nolans meatballs as an appetizer. They came out with the meal. Ok fine. No problem. Waitress asked can I get you anything else after the food was dropped off. Yes, can I get a side of barbecue sauce ? Never returned. Returned 20 minutes later after we were done eating by then. Meal was excellent. Only negative is why are you placing the fish fry on top of the fries? The grease makes the fries soggy. Other than that the food was amazing. She started cleaning up the table while we were still seated. Really? Where is the bus boy? Felt very rushed. Again everything was great except the lackluster service. Especially due to this being a very expensive, higher end establishment. I have received better service at an Applebees and they don't start cleaning up while I'm still sitting.

So had a planned night out with the wife. Stopping at several places in one night. Nolans was suggested for their food even one of the earlier spots employee mentioned their great bacon wrap scallops, and chicken @ shrimp Alfredo. It took us over two hours from sit to check out. 20 mins before the waitress stopped to get our drink order. Another 20 to get drinks that were loaded with alcohol undrinkable had to send them back. Took a while to get our apps and even the bread for the table. We had to ask if there were any special after hearing from another sever tell a table that sat after us what they were. The food eventually came up and was great. Because it took so long we had to alter our other stops as a lot of places closed at 9 and 10. Also, it was on a Wednesday night so it was not a typical night for an expected long dinner time or wait times.

The chowder & wedge salad were delicious. The Chicken Marsala however, was less than stellar. It was very sweet and I only ate about three bites. When the server finally came back to the table, I told her I didn't care for the dish at all. She took the mostly full plate back & said she'd check with her manager. Nothing was said by her or the management about it-she simply brought the check after dessert. When I looked, they didn't remove it completely from my check-they only took half off. I've had better treatment over a failed dish from chain restaurants. I dined here for the first time as part of a yearly gathering of friends. I will not be back.

We've been to Nolan's several times. This was our anniversary dinner. My steak wasn't good and the sweet potato fries were dark and burned. They tasted charred and my steak had the taste and texture of old hamburger. Our waitress mentioned she was out of breath because she wasn't expected a large party that night. We felt rushed all night and the bus boy kept interrupting asking to take plates out of reach so we had to put our silverware down and stop eating to hand him our dishes. We won't go back. For $42 dollars a plate, we can go somewhere else and get a wonderful meal and dining experience for half the price. I'm very upset. Ruined our anniversary dinner.

We sat in the outside area and it was so hot the waitress came to ask about drinks so I mentioned it and she opened one of the Windows some which helped! But then she just walked away without getting our drink order and she went to other tables! She didn't tell us the specials and I also think she has something against people that come in with kids. I was a waitress and tip well as I know how it is! Just because it was my 4 kids and I doesn't mean we should be treated differently! She barely came over and anything I asked for acted like it was a big deal! I still gave her a decent tip but she would have gotten more had she not acted inconvenienced by us! Also the fish was super wet and soggy! She did do one nice thing and gave us an extra cookie and the baby shared food off our plates!

They got rid of their slice cakes & went to cupcakes instead. They charge $14 for a carrot cupcake & it's not as good. Won't be coming as often $130 with tip for lunch w/o drinks, for 3 people.

We had the scallops as a starter. They were absolutely delectable. I ordered the pork chops with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were delicious. I could have had more! First of all, the pork chop was burnt and way too salty. But even worse, almost halfway, we realized the pork was rotten. It was so pungent that I couldn't eat and in fact returned it. Although they omitted it from the bill, be warned! My friend had the captain Pete's fish and chips which he absolutely loved. The wine and service were great. The place was a bit too crowded (we got there at about 8pm on a Saturday). If you like spicy food, you'll appreciate that they brought two kinds - Cajun and red pepper flakes.

Unfortunately the food was a disappointment, even though the service and local community was great. We asked for our steaks to be medium rare and it arrived medium well. Not sure if it was the steak cut or the overcooking, but it was very chewy. Sweat potato fries didn't come with any seasoning. The atmosphere was akin to a glorified sports bar. In our table of 6, the results were unanimous regarding the food quality.

We had a large party, we called a month prior for reservations. Which they wanted a deposit for, took our credit card number over the phone, I find that odd! When we arrived our party had dropped to 6, not 8. The prices of steak, the cowboy is $64, the meat was not a good cut! Not worth the price! My daughter got the seafood broil, she couldn’t even eat the fish, no seasoning on it whatsoever. We did not complain due to the fact it was busy, and we had already had special salads missing from our order. At that point, we just wanted to leave. And will not be returning. Overpriced, felt rushed, annoyed that we were asked at least six times how’s everything going and then a gentleman came to remove our plates and wanted to take my plate that was still full.

B
Braydon Trank

I had the fish and chips it was overcooked dry no flavor. The tar tar sauce wasn’t even tar tar sauce it was so bad. I also tried their prime rib the cut of meat was bad and instead of red it was grey it’s a ripoff. And on top of it all it’s 214$ for bad food basic service and a dull atmosphere. The only good thing about the restaurant was the dessert.

Truly disappointing experience. First time visiting as tourists from another part of NY. Food came back with hair in it, making for an uncomfortable request to have a new plate made. Normally I can look past a hair in my food, but these aren't Applebee's prices, so I expect a little better service. So as I sat there awkwardly waiting for another plate, my family rcvd their food and ate. I didn't want them to have to wait also, so they went ahead and ate dinner. Part of the reason ppl go to nice restaurants on vacation is to eat together as a family. By the time my plate arrived again, they were done- so they now had to sit and watch me eat. The thing that really pissed us off though, wasn't the hair. My wife and I worked in restaurants a long time ago, so we know that happens. It was the response from Nolan's. They apologized about the incident but instead of comping the plate I ordered, they instead offered a dessert or a cocktail. I don't drink and we were planning on going out for ice cream after dinner, so I declined both. They instead comped my wife's $12 glass of wine. What cheap nonsense. Our bill was not cheap (picture added here), and we were just really shocked that they wouldn't comp the plate, instead offering us two cheaper options to save them money. Unbelievable. Needless to say, we will not be eating here ever again. Beware of what they truly think of when it comes to leaving an impression.

We had our business Christmas dinner here, party of 6. We felt rushed’ service was ok. Dinner was Not. Over $60 for a very bad piece of steak, very tuff and hard to chew. A awful loaded baked potato that looked like it was sitting for some time. Money is never a issue with good food. But this was far from good food, What a shame.

We took our Grandson to Breakfast with Santa, and it was a big disappointment from start to finish. It was like any buffet breakfast. Most of the staff did dress with a holidaytheme. However, there were no decorations on the tables. One skinny Christmas tree next to the bar. Santa sat out in the lobby. He never came into the room where the kids were eating. When we went out into the lobby to see Santa, men were sitting on Santa's lap joking around. It just wasn't the time or place. Our Grandson was intimidated by their fooling around, and didn't go see Santa. This experience could have been so much better!! Last year we went to the Spring side Inn in Auburn. Santa was in the room handing out candy canes to the kids. They had a buffet, plus a pastry table and a make your own sundae bar. Festive decorations abounded. Kids had FUN!
