I came here without high expectations, but I found all the food to be absolutely delicious. The pork in the ABC hash was tasty, the steak was excellent, and the potatoes were also delicious. The salmon toast had a strong dill aroma and was slightly spicy. My family is very satisfied.
One of the best breakfasts we've had in awhile. We had the "eggs in purgatory" and the smoked salmon toast. Sooo yummy! The presentation was beautiful without sacrificing taste. The service was also great. Our 2 year old started crying shortly after we were seated and a staff member, possibly the manager, asked if our son would like some fruit with whipped cream to help settle him. Viola! No more crying toddler :) It was a very kind gesture. I wish I would have gotten his name but that was awesome. It's not always easy eating out with a toddler but we felt welcomed rather than feeling like an nuisance. We'll definitely be back!
We took our Marine daughter here for brunch while visiting. The server was very pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent, we had the lobster Benny, Southern fried chicken Benny, and smoked brisket hash. Monday through Friday they have buy one Mimosa and get the second for $1. At least when we went.
We hit up Toasted Gastrobrunch in Oceanside several times while in Oceanside, and wow—what a spot! The place has a bright, welcoming atmosphere with cozy indoor seating and a sunny patio that's perfect for people-watching in downtown Oceanside. Service was quick and friendly even on a busy holiday morning. Monte Cristo — Crispy, golden, and stuffed perfectly, with the sweet-savory balance and powdered sugar dusting. Chicken and Waffles — The chicken was super crispy and juicy, waffles fluffy, and hot sauce syrup drizzle. Genius move. Steak and Eggs — Steak cooked right, eggs over easy, and those potatoes on the side. Eggs Benedict — Classic but elevated—perfectly poached eggs, rich hollandaise that wasn't too heavy. ABC Hash — Avocado, pork belly, cheddar, potatoes, topped with two up eggs. The pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender, creamy avocado balanced the richness, and everything came together so well. Portions are generous too! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Coffee was strong and hot, and we loved the little touches like house-made jams. Great value for the quality—definitely worth it if you're in the area craving elevated brunch. We'll be back for sure, maybe to try the smoked salmon toast or kanafee next time!
My wife and I had a lot of guests coming from out of town and decided to host a 'welcome party' the night before our wedding at Toasted Gastrobrunch. We were so appreciative of the staff who helped make the night a special night for both of our families. The venue was very easy to work with leading up to the event and were clear about billing and options (food, drinks). On the day of, we brought some small decorations that they helped set up and they were extremely responsive whenever we asked for a favor. Also, my wife gave a small speech during the event and the manager recorded it for us without asking, helping us to preserve the moment which we greatly appreciated. We have also ate at the restaurant for a normal brunch and would highly recommend!
Let me start by that this place is special! The food is unique and full of flavor. This is my 2nd visit. As I finish my meal, I feel as though every aspect was thoughtfully and artfully composed by an incredible and well-trained chef! We had the eggs in purgatory, the salmon toast and the potato balls! All was excellent! Now, for the service... The manager, Cody, made sure our experience was perfect. He went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. Even though he has never seen us before, he made us feel appreciated as a friend would! Justice was our server. She was very friend and attentive. Not a drop off your food and desert you type. Our coffee cups never emptied before she would check on us. For a busy restaurant that is amazing! The restaurant was clean and comfortable, maintaining the high bar this place sets!
This review is long overdue, but we couldn’t go without sharing how amazing our experience was at Toasted Gastrobrunch! A few months before our wedding in June, the original restaurant we planned to host our rehearsal dinner closed, and we spent days searching for a new venue. We reached out to so many places near our reception site, and thankfully, we messaged Toasted Gastrobrunch! Cassandra responded so promptly and was incredibly helpful from the start. They were able to accommodate our group of about 90–100 people, and honestly, it turned out to be the best surprise — a true silver lining! Cassandra, Cody, and the entire staff were amazing. They even created a custom menu for us that offered a mix of Italian and American food outside of their usual brunch menu, which our guests absolutely loved. We were also able to have the restaurant to ourselves, which made the evening feel extra special and intimate. Everything exceeded our expectations — the buffet was plentiful, the drinks were great, and the restaurant itself was spacious and comfortable for all our guests. After dinner, we ended up dancing the night away with even more friends and family who were in town for the wedding, and it was such a perfect way to kick off the weekend! If you’re looking for a reception venue or a restaurant to host your large party, look no further — Toasted Gastrobrunch is it! Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping make our wedding weekend so special! — The Garcias
BELIEVE THE 5-STAR REVIEWS! OMG... Toasted Gastrobrunch is definitely on my regular restaurant rotation now. It's highly recommended by Yelpers far and wide, as a brunch enthusiast I can verify this is a phenomenal place. I heard great things about the A-B-C Hash (Shoutout to our friend Audrey the Yelp CM who recommended this dish) so I had to try it! I ordered it with a side of rosemary sourdough and oof, it was an other-worldly experience. The avocado was perfect, I typically don't eat avo but this place changed my mind. Everything from the potatoes, meat, and eggs was fresh and premium quality. We tried a flight of mimosas (pear, lavender, etc.) and they had a good amount of alcohol. The flight glasses were mini-size, so we got some extra soft drinks just in case. Service was a little wonky, we didn't have too many check-ins from our waitress. Our drinks didn't get refilled regularly, that was a little troubling. We just got a lazy vibe from some of the staff. Thankfully, this didn't ruin the experience, but we'd appreciate better service next time! I WILL give kudos to a gentleman from the staff who sent away a homeless dude who was about to start stuff. He tactfully handled the situation, and called security without causing a disruption for guests. The restaurant was trendy, but it never felt like it was trying too hard. It was a cool place, I enjoyed the outdoor patio ALOT! I definitely like the comfortable brunch atmosphere. Oh, and their kitchen is stunning, I love getting to see the chefs in action! Note: I checked on their Yelp page, they have a Yelp waitlist!! Be sure to secure your slot!
Stopped for brunch on a Monday, and we were able to sit in a patio. They didn’t mind us (just a party of two) occupying a larger table since it was Monday. We ordered our food and flights of mimosas. The food and drinks came out without waiting too long. We shared our food, eggs in purgatory and smoked salmon, and i enjoyed them very much. Both dishes were spicy, just how I like them! The workers were friendly and efficient. We found a street parking spot with ease as it was a weekday.
The atmosphere is amazing. I love that they are extremely dog friendly. Our wait Saul was excellent! He took great care of us. We did patio seating since we brought our dog but dogs are allowed for indoor seating. Hubby ordered the monster bBoody Mary and I had the white peach belini. Both were a 10. The kids ordered the chocolate chip pancakes combo. Both had mix reactions. Both said the pancakes were a 9 but the sausage was different. My oldest sone rated it a 10 and my other son rates it a 7. Hubby got the lobster scrambled. The potato balls is so good and he said the scrambled was a 9. I got the basic pancake combo with bacon. The pancakes were super fluffy and the bacon was soo good. We will be back just to try other things on the menu. If you are in the area, please give it a try.
Great spot for brunch. Never seen so many unusual options for their mimosa flight. Love love love it! I selected the classic and the lavender vanilla, and I asked our server to select the other 2 for us. We got prickly pear and lemon. This place also has a full bar so brunch cocktails in addition to mimosas. I had the stuffed French toast and my partner had the smoked salmon toast with egg. Both were just delicious. There’s something for everyone on their menu. We were seated almost immediately on a busy Sunday morning. Our server was kind and attentive. Plenty of places to sit depending on your mood and needs: outdoor, indoor, community tables, and private tables.
We were there for late 10ish breakfast on Tuesday and had the place to ourself, see the video. Melanie was our server and was top notch and fun!! Had a relaxing time because of her. We have been here before and were pleased as always. We ordered the avocado toast, a meal in itself. A side of bacon which includes many thick strips. I had the be Eggs Benedict with potato balls. All were delicious. As always service and food was the best. I highly recommend, especially if you get Melanie ad a server.
Mimosa flight creamsicle was delicious as was the mango. I could’ve drank those all day long. I wasn’t a fan of the hibiscus or pear or the lavender but others I was with did enjoy those flavors. I also got the cucumber morning drink as well. It was crisp and refreshing! I got the grilled cheese and added bacon. I expected a lot more from it and was disappointed when it was it wasn’t toasty or crispy. The bacon was very tough on the inside. I wouldn’t recommend getting it. The fries were good though. We also got some truffle fries and really enjoyed those. We were there for a party and also got the insane messy sundae as dessert. That was delicious and totally worth getting! It had a lot of chocolate but good ratio of caramel, ice cream and nuts! Honestly, we were a big group and the service they provided to us really brought my rating up to 4 stars after my disappointment on the entree.
This place is highly recommended!! This is a unique brunch experience. Ambiance was very soothing. We sat on the high table near the kitchen and was able to see what goes In the kitchen. The service was excellent as the server was very attentive and constantly came by either to refill our waters or ask if there was anything else we needed. Remember to check in for the free Avocado toast. The presentation of the food was amazing! We ordered the southern fried chicken Benny which had a poached egg on top of the fried chicken on top of the cheddar cornbread. It was tasty although I felt the fried chicken was kind of dry. It also came with truffle potato balls. We also ordered the stuffed French toast which was delicious. If I were to order this again, I will probably tell them to be light on the caramel syrup as I felt that was a bit sweet. That dish also had an amazing presentation. There maybe a line during the weekends, but it is worth the wait.
Came here for a lunch double date and everyone had a good time. Have to get on the wait list because it was for brunch on a Saturday but the table was ready at the exact expected time. Nice cozy atmosphere inside and everything was very aesthetic including the food. Coffee latte was really delicious. Ordered it with nonfat milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup. Really delicious and smooth and creamy and nice overall. Husband and I split the veggie hash and the lobster toast. The Veggie Hash with Egg Whites; It was a good portion of food and quite flavorful with the goat cheese and the Chipotle pesto and all the vegetables in there. Really good balance of flavor and all the ingredients went well together as well. Lobster Toast was decent too. Love the rosemary sourdough on the bottom and a good amount of avocado and lobster and bacon on top. The corn was a nice touch. I needed It to be a little more spicy so ask for some crushed chili flakes on the side. That really took to another level and completed the dish. Friends got the Brisket Hash and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and they both enjoyed the food as well. That sandwich was finished really quick! Got the Rosemary bread along with that brisket hash and she said the plain bread was delicious as well. They also ordered the IPA beer and espresso martini (Martini was the recommendation of the server and they seemed to like it).
The shrimp and grits were okay. The shrimp had good flavor but was not impressed with this dish. Had it better at other restaurants. The good ole Benny was good but the hollandaise sauce made the dish cold. The potato balls were good. The kids had the stuffed french toast and the Elvis French toast and both were delicious.
Great location for brunch! Lots of seating inside and many seats on the patio with fire pits in the middle of the tables. Service: Our party of 5 took a while to be seated since apparently there were a couple of servers that called out sick and staffing was short. Knowing this, we gave our server some grace and were patient in waiting. Unfortunately, whenever we did ask for something, it felt like we were bothering him. Regardless, food came out within 10-15 minutes. Food: -Coffee Cake Cakes ($14.5): perfect enough to share with the table. Comes with 3 large pancakes and it wasn’t too sweet -Spanish Churros ($12): also shared with the table. Churros were crispy and pretty good! -Lobster Toast ($20): some pictures didn’t do it justice but this is one big toast that was very filling! There were far more bacon bits than lobster though. -Short Rib Benny ($22): my husband enjoyed this dish. Comes with round truffle potatoes which were tasty. Overall: Very cute brunch place at a nice location. Next time, I’d wanna try out their mimosa flights!
This is one of the ones that I wanted to be great, and was just mid. They were unfortunately understaffed this day. On good note: Our waitress was awesome and they did everything they could to rectify our displeasure. The atmosphere is great and they have tons of fun options. I would definitely try it again. My husband loved the shrimp and grits, (cleaned his plate) but he said he wished it was a little bit more southern style with some spice. My son also cleaned his chicken and pancakes plate. He really liked the hot sauce syrup😜 Challenges: Our coffee was cold and even colder on the second round. the Cali Benny with also cold and the Elvis French toast was missing the bacon.
Food was subpar. I ordered a denverish scramble and everything was undercooked but the eggs. Meat and peppers could have used a nice caramelization. Velvet pancakes were like an 8 inch round cake just sprinkled with powdered sugar. Nothing special. Bacon was was way too chewy. The shrimp and grits was the only thing worth it. Orange juice was great but $8 for a glass. Coffee was decent. Service was decent. Seating was uncomfortable. I will not be back. Not worth the hype at all.
The decision to visit Toast Gastrobrunch was made based on menu pictures. Do not be deceived by appearances. Everything was okay until the food made it to our tastebuds. The pancakes from “Crispy Chicken and Cakes” were dry and flavorless. The hot syrup was nothing less than a mixture of Tabasco hot sauce and traditional syrup. The scallions, what for? The service was average, the place was loud and the low table did not seem to complement sitting by a window.
We stopped here while traveling and ordered takeout at the bar but were not greeted or helped right away. Another customer who came in behind us was served quickly while we were still left waiting until I asked the host for help. My latte came with foam even though I asked for none, it was not hot enough, and overly sweet. The food was mediocre for the price and I would not recommend coming back.
