5 stars! Express Sushi & Teriyaki in Carmichael absolutely blew me away. I started with the Thai Chicken Noodle, and it was incredible—perfectly cooked noodles, tender chicken, and just the right kick of spice. Then I had the Thai Chicken Salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and packed with great texture. The dressing tied everything together perfectly. I also tried a couple of sushi rolls, including the Gor Roll, and each bite was fresh and beautifully made. The fish was high quality, and the presentation was spot on. You can tell they care about what they serve. What made the experience even better was the amazing customer service—everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The whole vibe was relaxed but professional, and I felt genuinely cared for. If you’re craving sushi, noodles, or a solid Thai-inspired dish, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend and definitely coming back!

Excellent service, all the staff are very friendly. We were served by a nice girl, very attentive, and not intrusive. Later we were served by a young guy. It was his first day at work, he was also very nice. During dinner, the chef came out to us, just to greet us, to exchange a few words. His dishes are delicious! The sashimi was so fresh and soft that it melted in your mouth. Thank you very much, we will come again.

I’ve been a regular here for too many years. I’ve introduced this place to so many friends and family along the way and it’s definitely a staple. The food is always yummy and their prices for quality of food is unbeatable. The sushi is always so fresh too. Another thing that keeps me coming back are the lovely employees that work there. The chefs behind the counter always have a smile on their face and the servers as well are so attentive and friendly. Lexi is my fav☺️

We were there 4 times and it was always a big pleasure! The staff is polite, smiling and helpful. The food is nice and delicious. Very positive prices - I think this is the cheaper sushi place I’ve ever been to. Highly recommended!

Great value here! Food is good too! Loved the teriyaki bento box and the extra ginger served with the sushi. I was surprised just how much I liked it considering the affordability aspect. Lines up with much pricier sushi joints.

Went here for a quick lunch, we ordered the Baked California with Scallops and House Wife Special. So good! They charge a little extra for sauce and topping, nothing crazy. Service was awesome, our waitress was very sweet! We definitely will be back to try the other rolls!

This place is a pretty laid back place to have food, the service is always good and the atmosphere is great. It’s nice and quiet most of the time except for busy days like weekends ofc. I love all their rolls and especially their Fiji apple sake

Ordered Miso Soup, L Hot Sake, Rolls: Godzilla, Folsom, California, DF Spicy Tuna. Sushi and prices are amazing. Wished we got takeout though, this place needs a basic remodel, at the very least, a good cleaning. The bathroom was filthy. Fruit flies were swarming all over our dining area. Service was too slow. My miso soup was lukewarm almost cold, def not fresh. Could have at least microwaved it. Would I order from here again? I probably would give them another shot since the sushi was really good. But dine in, a big NO. Update 7-2-23 Ordered Alex Special, I Love Salmon, Monster Spider Rolls and a Calamari to go order. Monster spider was delicious, the other 2 wouldn't order again. Deep fried salmon on top of a CA Roll, not that great. Would rather prefer raw. Calamari was the worst I've had EVER. Tasted like it was deep fried several times. Un-bitable, unchewable, disgusting! Never again!

I really love Lion King sushi. I ordered two Lion King rolls for takeout and some other sushi — the total was $62. I was honestly shocked when I opened the box. I couldn’t even understand what it was. I’ve eaten them many times before, so I know how they’re supposed to look and taste. I was really disappointed because I wanted to treat a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time… and this is what I got. I will never order from here again and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. 😕

Wanted to try new spot they gave me veg tempura mix instead of my clearly picked $8 veg temp roll on the menu under their "veggie rolls". When calling just to give the heads up that we were coming back to the restaurant to switch out lady over the phone argued claiming I ordered the wrong thing when their website clearly has two same labeled items in two different sections with different prices. Clearly unprofessional response with absolutely no customer service learn and study your own menu before coming at customers over your own mistakes. When my man came in to switch out our wrong item big short girl with curly hair continued on her rude attitude to his respectful entrance arguing how we were still wrong RATHER that just offering to fix THEIR mistake. Coming from the customer service industry myself they exhibit no disregard or apologies to their paying customer WHO HAD TO COME BACK ON THEIR MISTAKE. They should hire better front of house staff who actually know their system and menu it could go a long way.

After trying this place, I don’t really understand the high ratings. Food-wise, it just wasn’t good. The miso soup was so salty that it was basically inedible. The teriyaki chicken tasted bland and didn’t seem freshly made, and the sushi I ordered didn’t impress me either. Nothing I tried made me want to order it again or come back. For me, the overall experience just didn’t match the reputation this restaurant seems to have online.
