Ive been going here since I was like 6 years old, im now 20, and this place is still going strong, I lowkey even watched the kids grow up too
Nearly every good Chinese food establishment I've been to looks like this place, and this is no exception. Solid food, nice people, a third thing. Easy recommendation
My son says they have the best sesame chicken. The service is always awesome.
Food was very fresh, delicious, plentiful.
This is my favorite Chinese spot in Chapel Hill / Carrboro. Food is always good - especially the shrimp lo mein. Service is quick and always friendly. Limited seating inside but I usually order to go.
Food was great and had great portions for the price.
I have been disappointed with the food at every other Chinese place since I have moved to NC in 2018.. but this place was absolutely delicious! Flavorful, spicy without being too over the top. Chicken was crunchy and not soggy. Crab Rangoon was quality. Absolutely thrilled with our meal. And my fiancé and I are super picky. This is our new Chinese food spot. Hands down!
An inexpensive but surprisingly authentic Chinese take-out option. Their lunch specials in particular are a great, affordable grab-and-go option for working folks who just need something quick and reliably tasty. One of my frequent go-to options for lunch.
Update: I adore Amy and her family! It's so sad that I'm 40 minutes away now. We became regular customers over the years. Whenever I'm in Cboro, I always try and get by to say, "Hello!" and pick up shrimp eggrolls, vegetarian dishes with mung bean sprouts (ask if they can be added if you like them), or most any dish... Delicious! -Camellia On my first visit many years ago: Love the shrimp egg rolls! I gobbled the vegetable angel hair, but it needed a little more seasoning. Warm, friendly service.
i adore this place. it's quite small (there is a dining area) but i love getting take-out here. i am vegetarian and all of the vegetarian meals i have had here are great - i particularly like the sesame tofu. they have my absolutely *favorite* vegetarian spring rolls. the people that work there are wonderful and very kind!
Love getting take out here. The woman who always works the front is so nice. The food is great and quick, good portions but not so much you are regretting finishing your entree. Good traditional Chinese take out spot, would recommend
Always love eating here. The lady that works here always know what we are going to order. She always asks about our family by name. She's such a great person and the food is ALWAYS good. Never had an issue.
Surprisingly good. I honestly expected it to be in the "good enough for late night" category, but nothing more. However, it was great. Excellent egg rolls and the General Tso's Chicken actually had decent heat to it, rather than the glorified sesame chicken of most other Chinese restaurants.
Pretty much everything here is your standard Chinese food, except for two menu items we have found to be exceptional: 1. The fried rice. It has this delicious smoky flavor like no other takeout fried rice I have found. It's wonderful and unique. 2. Hot and Sour Soup. It's kind of weird, but I love it. Has some funky vegetables, is a little spicy, and has a flavorful broth.
This is a go to for my family when it comes to take out Chinese. The General Tso's chicken (called messy chicken by my crew) is always very tasty and we rarely have any left over. The chicken wings are great as is the egg drop soup. Most every dish is a solid rendition of what would be expected from a hole in the wall place. It is consistently good. The dining area is very plain and limited in size. One table is frequently occupied by the kitchen staff kids. There is usually plenty of parking right in front. Speaking of the kids (10 year old ish), they often answer the phone to take orders and while they are OK at taking orders, I always wonder whether or not they truly understand what I'm saying. (Not to slam here, but they have a very heavy accent and can be difficult to understand.) I've experienced minor mistakes that were made by the kids. The pricing on the web doesn't seem to reflect what gets charged at the register. We always get a warm welcome and extra fortune cookies. Overall, it's a mixed bag of positive and so so elements but the food is always good and the service is oh so friendly. Never had a reason not to go back after a rotation of at least three operators over the past 15 years.
It was $30 for a general tso chicken and a fried rice. These are the large portions, but a hungry man could easily finish it all. The bill with a $2 tip was $30. I don't recall them being this expensive in the past. I know the cost of goods has gone up, but it's just not worth it. The food itself was fine although there was not much sauce on the general chicken it was pretty dry when added to rice. The service is always very friendly.
It was fine. I'd recommend it for takeout rather than sit-in, and at least for the sesame tofu I ordered, it should definitely be eaten fresh. It doesn't keep well as leftovers. The fried rice was definitely this place's saving grace - the light smoky flavor definitely ranks it as my number one for the area. The other dishes came out a little too sticky sweet for my personal preference, but some people prefer sweeter Chinese food, so maybe it's what you're looking for.
The menu on the website is the wrong one completely; it was that different I thought I had the wrong restaurant. There was a 10 year old taking orders. The food we got was not what we ordered in any way. I ordered beef in black bean sauce what i got was some kind of chicken in gravy. Either way not very tasty. My wife's tofu dish had the same gravy so it seems they had a lot of gravy left over.
The food was definitely not fresh rock hard sweet and sour chicken asked for shrimp fried rice instead I get stick brown rice with shrimp no vegetables or eggs in the shrimp fried rice I don't even want to start on the dumplings very disappointed
They let their delivery truck drivers park in the strip mall parking lot blocking multiple people from leaving instead of using the loading area in the back like any other business. I just needed to run a quick errand and these jerks had me blocked in for over 15 minutes and didn't seem to care. I'm now late for my upcoming appointment
I really wanted to try this place, but its impossible to place an online order for pickup. No way to even see the full menu so you can call it in. Maybe someday they will do better and I can up my rating.
The lady is nice at the register but that’s all I have to compliment on. I make food better than what I had tonight … broccoli over cooked and sour tasting , general chicken and fried rice was bland … definitely won’t return and they are expensive I think they are hitting people over the head because of the pandemic but it’s not worth the price I don’t mind spending money on food but I don’t like when my money is wasted to tasteless entree’s
