My original comment was meant for another location, that said, this locations service was amazing. We drove by and the car hop was fast. 10 out of 10 I'd return to this location.

So far it has always been a wonderful experience. Have not had any issues with our ordes. Servers have always been wonderful. I can recommend them very highly.

We live in Devine and will go out of our way to avoid our sonic and head to the Sonic in Castroville! The service is SO MUCH BETTER and our drinks are always made correctly.

Best Sonic I've ever had! I have no idea how they do it but they have the best burgers and if you need another reason... They serve Big Red.

Quick service in and out also they labeled each one of our Shakes that was awesome we knew who's shakes were without asking or trying them

Sonic doesnt miss a beat. Has been great for years and their kids meals to keep kids fed during covid are the perfect meal for the kids. Has a snack, drink and toy with their meal & a TOY. 1.99 for limited times. Their Sonic is My Sonic.

This is where I popped my Sonic cherry and years later, I still think I picked a good location. Service was fast and friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a 50% off Tuesday burger discount. Worth the $3.79 regular price, but qualifies as a damn fine burger at $1.89 (before tax.) The burger and everything with it was fresh. Warm bun and burger, cold and crisp veggies. Outdoor seating as well; everything looked very clean. In SoCal, we have very few Sonic. To compare, I'd say Sonic is not as good as In-n-Out, but (at least this location) is better than just about any other fast-food burger joint we have. It's much closer to a restaurant burger than most fast food burgers. Actually, when it's done right, I'd say the Sonic burger is better than In-n-Out. But In-n-Out wins on the bun, the super crisp veg, cheese, etc. Basically everything except the burger.

This visit occurred at 6:45 pm on a Tuesday. The speaker attendant "picked up" almost right away after the red button was pressed. The order was delivered in under four minutes by a friendly, smiling car hop. The food received was correct as ordered. The burger featured juicy meat, crisp toppings, and cheese that was just the right amount of meltedness. It was hot, and tasted good. A clean location and music that was not too loud rounded out a satisfying experience. The only drawback was no mint or ketchup was included in the bag, and none was offered.

Usually don't get food from here. But I got the popcorn chicken meal and it was so good! I was also pleasantly surprised that the happy hour discount still works with your meal! A very cheap and delicious lunch!

Really friendly place with great food! Other sonics have rude employees or the food quality isn't great but this one is not at all like those in a very positive way! I love this sonic and with the area growing I hope that their standards when it comes to hiring and food doesn't go down. Kudos to the manager and employees!

Overall, food was hot and tasted great. Only issue was the toasted bread for chicken toaster was over toasted and tater tots were a lil bit too crunchy. Attendee was awesome. Perfect smile and checked back to see if we were good.

Very friendly staff. Everytime we go there, the employees have a good attitudes and smiles on their face. Did comes out fresh, and has great taste for a fast food establishment. I'd recommend this location to anyone looking for a great place to enjoy parking, and eating.

Sonic is sonic; there isn't really anything to compare them to outside of your own expectations. That being said, I love Sonic! This one rarely messes up an order and is very reasonable on speed. They look under staffed, but they perform like experts! Must have great trainers and motivated workers.

This Sonic is in Castroville, kudos for the fastest service ever of any of the Sonics I have been to in San Antonio. That day I was feeling so sick (I am diabetic) and I needed to eat something ASAP. They came out with my order so quick. Plus the "car hop" was so nice n courteous. I am sure to return next time I am in Casteoville. Thank you 🙂

Went the other day to order a strawberry sprite and chili cheese tots and Joe Angel took my order and was quick to bring out my order, super nice and polite. Excellent restaurant and amazing staff.

Service was excellent! The food was hot and fresh!

My main stop for not just the drinks and Route 44! But for their pretzel dogs and chili cheese fries and Coney dog! The Carhops at this particular Sonic are super friendly even near closing time! Food is delivered promptly and with the new updated screens, you can even keep an eye on when your food will be delivered (kind of like the Domino's Tracker) so whether it is 100 degrees outside, freezing cold or just plan muggy or rainy you can keep your car windows up and music or conversation with your car's occupants going and just glance at the screen from time to time. You also can choose to pay by card or cash via the screen by tapping the appropriate choice for you and with a "red button activated" note on the screen you'll never have to worry about if you had already pressed the button or not.

They are really on the ball at this location. My food was out to me in less than six minutes and well put together and the best thing of it all....the fries were hot. For those of you like me that don't like cold soggy fries, you know exactly what i mean 😉

We visited on 1/11/25 while visiting family. The coffee machine was down so Jackie asked if there was anything else she could get us. Substituted a soft pretzel. Had ordered a medium unsweetened tea. Let them know it was wrong. Brought us back a large unsweetened tea. We were not upset that the order was wrong just brought it to their attention. Both times they corrected the issue graciously without us asking for anything. This is our opinion of great customer service. We appreciate your Castorville Sonic. In 2 words, customer service! I've had some poor experiences at sonics in the past and have gotten the run around before but the manager of this sonic goes above and beyond to make their customers happy. I had an order that had been messed up and Siri went out of her way to replace the whole meal even including items that hadn't been wrong. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious! I will definitely be heading to this sonic more often☺️

I found out they have cream you can add to your drinks. I put that stuff in everything now. Rootbeer and cream, blue coconut and cream slush, peach and cream slush. Its great

I like the Castroville Sonic, and they were busy, but it takes so long to get your food at any sonic. Most of the time, it's worth the wait, but my food wasn't of the greatest quality.

Grabbed breakfast while out of town on assignment. One of the tater tots was overcooked and didn't retain any heat. My car hop looked like she was the only one who showed up for work as her tray was piled high and she was a little flustered. Pro tip; install a drive-thru.

You go for the icecream...but you stay for the simple burgers and fries...one of the best chicken tender baskets in the fast food game...and no one beats their tots! They also have se of the best mozzarella sticks! Don't get me started on the drink choices...

Enjoy the ice cream, they do better than other sonics in the area. Does not have a drive-thru. Food is a little pricy but they do offer specials like half price shakes after 8 in the summer.

The food was served hot and fresh made, which is worth the wait. I was disappointed they didn't have biscuits on the menu. The croissant sandwich was good thought. Tater tots were fresh but had no salt. I didn't know I needed to ask for salt. The service was excellent. He forgot my drink but returned quickly with it

The food is amazing here and I love eating here but every time I go to this location to get ice cream it’s a total waste. It’s a spoonful of toppings and the rest is soft serve. I’ve gotten ice cream 5+ times and it’s always the same. This is the only issue I’ve had with this location.

The carhops are always friendly. I'd give them 5 stars alone. But you ALWAYS need to check your order. I've driven off countless times without the extra bacon I ordered on my burger.

No plan for failing red press order button not working. Activated 3 times but kept clearing without any response from cashier/order taker. Had to move to a different stall after 25 minutes & order taker couldn't care less. How about something posted to move or flash if not served in 15-20 minutes...

Ordered on the app. Arrived, and the app wouldn't let me check in. The display at the stall wasn't working, so I had to go to another spot. Moved to a second spot, red light was activated and wouldn't let me use it. The third spot was the charm. the food wasn't. Soda with easy ice had a fill cup of ice and half flat soda. Three partially melted blushes to add to the mix. There are too many other choices in town for me to deal with this.

My husband loves Sonic, and this is the only location close by. But every time we go, it takes a very long time to receive our food. I would like to think because they are busy but the other morning it was myself and one other car. Frequently our order isn't 100% but I hate to complain so we just roll with it. But to wait 20 minutes for 2 burgers, fries and a drink makes it hard to want to frequent here. This is with placing an order ahead of time.

Loved the drink specials but they don't have them any more so I don't go.

The staff is rude the place is not look like it's been cleaned in years. The tater tots taste gross, doesn't ever seem like they change the oil. The corndogs are just as bad!! Hate going there!!

Ordered a burrito and fries via DoorDash. Burrito showed up filled halfway with nothing but beef. Should have included eggs, cheese, a fresh tortilla, hash browns, and bacon. Was literally just cold fries and beef. Darn atrocious. Get your “stuff” together. Absolute garbage.

The service and food is good, but when I pay with cash the servers stay with my change and leave a tip for themselves without asking. for instance a while back I ordered 16 dollars worth of food, I paid with a 20 dollar bill and got no change in return she just said “thank you” and just gave the food. And then I went again today and got some food and drinks for $18.08, and I paid with $20.08, and she just gave me 1 dollar back, I was going to give her a .dollar but she kept it on her own. And I think it’s very annoying that you don’t get your change back and they just stay with it without asking. I believe that they should teach their servers to not stay with your money and learn how ask before stealing your money.

If i could rate this place zero stars, I would. I go off the three strikes rule and my experience here is that Sonic has struck out. First, I had a full on argument with an employee because he insisted a malt and milkshake were the same thing...in the end I still received a milkshake, not what I wanted. You would think Sonic employees of all places would know the difference. Second, I recently ordered a iced coffees and twice they had spoiled creamer (once to the point that you could see it curddled in the cup!) Third, they have a tendency to forget past of your order.

Ladies bathroom down, wife had to go in men’s, commode was full of feces!! Called up & staff said they had a line & someone would have to attend to it later on. Suggestion: Remove toilets & put a commercial ones in!

They take to long 15 minutes to get a large sweet tea seriously that is way too long to wait when people have to be at work in the morning I will never come there in the morning ever again they are too slow and that's not the first time since they have taken that long I have gone there ither times and they take 15 to 20 minutes just to bring it out you need to speed up your service

Terrible service!!! My drink was just carbonated water and I asked to have it fixed. I was helped by a girl that had her entire face pierced. I told her my drink was just all carbonation she asked if I wanted to exchange it. I was like WTH I asked for a cherry limeade which I had already told her twice. In the time I ask to exchange it they ran out 7 orders. I asked where my drink was she said it would be right out but it wasn't. I asked for a refund and that only took 2 mins!! Terrible!!!

I went here to get food during break time and it took them an hour to bring me my food after i called them twice and they keep saying they short on staff, when everyone else got their orders and left when those people got there after me too. Ordered there multiple times now and they have yet to get even one of the orders right, we consistently get the wrong food, last night (3/1/23) it was the right food done massively wrong, on top of that even the hotdogs and chicken sandwiches were so massively spicy my mother couldn't eat them. The onion rings we ordered lightly cooked since my mother is almost 80 and missing teeth were so badly burned big sections of them were black. The food you could eat tasted like they haven't changed the grease in the fryers in at least a month. TLDR: A massively disappointing experience and poorly done crappily cooked food.

Husband order hamburger and staff can't even get the order correct. French fries were load with salt and stale. Hamburger was incorrect and cold. Husband did call immediately after he got home. Manager apologized and will replace our order. Pleased for manager to correct the situation. That being said, I most likely will no longer be a customer at this particular restaurant. Never again will I order chicken nuggets. All fat no meat.

This sonic is one of the worst. Everytime I get food there it is bad. Last night my foot long Coney was cold they gave my husband the wrong burger by accident. The staff was very helpful in fixing that but when it came out the super Sonic double stack was not gooey with cheese barely had grilled onions on it and the patties were extremely dry. With how slow it was there all the food should have been fresh and delicious.

I would have liked to order meals for the 7 people that wanted Sonic however the red button stayed activated for 5 min. Or more with 3 cars there. No hello, be right with you, just silence nothing. Please remember you are not doing the public any favors by this type of service from your employees. Just a reminder the #1 type of advertisement is word of mouth. You are trying to draw in customers not push them away and from theses reviews it doesnt look good at all. Everthing has gone up but pay and level of service.

I showed up on a Thursday, October 9th just before 8:30 PM after the family was at a local football game for dinner. However, when I asked for milkshakes I was told that it wasn't available because "they already cleaned the machine". They are open until 11 PM and milkshakes aren't available, that's substandard, so I guess I'm going to Dairy Queen instead.

I give this sonic a one star today because I went for some chicken bites with the 4.99 coupon I had, they served me some hard and dried out chicken bites(couldn't even finish them)...its like those last few pieces that are sitting there under the heating lamp they have there in the kitchen...they were disgusting. I love gookg.to Sonic, been going for years so yeah I am highly disappointed because I was very hungry and as a Castroville resident that's the only Sonic in town. So I dont know if it was the employees that's running this shift that needs improvement,but definitely the quality of the food does. 👎 There was alot of young looking people working there like college or high school kids, so they're JUST trying to get a paycheck, but dang they can do better. 🙄

Came here on June 14th and ordered a drink and a small snack. I didn’t have time to address it at the moment because I was in a rush and they had already taken a while with my order initially. The pepperoni bites were completely burnt and inedible. Total waste of money. Really disappointing experience.

I typically don't complain, but my 14 year old daughter ordered a foot long coney with chili no cheese. Well it came with cheese. Fine, please replace it. Instead this chick brings back a foot long coney with chili, and once my daughter took a bite, she realized the cheese was just scooped off and she got a mouth full of it and grossed out. Seriously???? You couldn't just give her a new one? Or were you trying to prove a point?... not acceptable for any business.

Tried paying with a 50 our total was 31 and some change instead you wait till after they have already ordered, and you brought the food. You lost a customer we have given yall chance after chance messing up orders getting food wrong waiting 20 plus minutes for drinks when there's only 3 customers there but at the point you won't accept my form of payment.

Just got breakfast here and got a sausage, egg and cheese toaster sandwich and bite down on what appears to be the end of a blue bread tie maybe. How does a chunk of bread tie end up all the way in a sandwich. Disgusting and disappointed.
