Pedimos menú del día por 17€, que incluía bebida, postre y café. Comimos cocido montañés y repollo. Muy rico y generoso el cocido. De 2º pollo y pescaditos, aceptables. Para finalizar flan y leche frita, esta última no nos gustó mucho.
¡ Valgame Dios, que de aventuras se hallan en los fogones de este Tropezón en la inclita Herrería! Bien parece que no son gigantes lo que allí habitan, sino ángeles de buen gusto y mejor trato. Escuchad, vuestras mercedes, lo que este hidalgo ha descubierto. El rissoto de carne , un brebaje de arroz y vianda tan espectacular que ni el mismísimo Caballero de la Blanca Luna podría resistirse. ¡ Sustancia pura para enderezar entuertos. Pimientos Rellenos de Pescado. Delicadeza de mares en huerto castellano, elaborados con un esmero que solo el amor de una madre (o un gran chef) conoce. Arroz con Leche. ¡Oh, manjar divino! Como Dios manda y el paladar agradece. Dulce colofon que haría olvidar a Sancho sus penas y a Quijote sus libros de caballerias. Todo ello servido por gente de tal simpatía y brío, que mas parecen amigos que posaderos. Y para rematar la faena , un café solo negro como la noche y fuerte como el abrazo de un escudero.
Meson de toda la vida, un buen trato aunque no habíamos reservado mesa, la comida muy casera y excelente en todos los platos elegidos. Empezamos con un pate de morcilla que ponen de entrante, seguimos un rissoto de carne , uno pidió pimientos rellenos de pescado y otro secreto con salsa barbacoa y para terminar arroz con leche y mousse de fresas

Nos apetecía comida tradicional de la zona, y acertamos de lleno con este restaurante. Comida espectacular, casera, recién hecha y de productos locales. El cocido montañés y las alubias rojas superaron nuestras altas expectativas. El camarero muy simpático y los precios muy buenos también, había tanto menú (15€ por persona) como fuera de carta. Recomiendo este sitio, es un 10/10. Muchas gracias!!!
Un sitio para volver sin duda. Comida casera buenisima, todo todo, desde el pan hasta el postre, comeria allí a diario. Buen ambiente, gente agradable que nos atendieron y recomendaron estupendamente. Me quede con ganas de probar mas cosas, no fue posible sus raciones son abundantes un diez. Volveremos
Nos recomendaron este sitio y reservé para comer con mi marido e hijos y fue todo un acierto. La comida casera, muy rica y abundante. El trato familiar y cercano, muy agradables. En cuanto a relación calidad precio también recomiendo al 100%, el menú diario a 15€
Absolutely fantastic! The food is spectacular, truly homemade, just like Moms and Grandmas would make it 🥰, and at a great price. The service was wonderful, they're incredibly friendly. And the setting is beautiful. For us, it's now a must-visit on every trip to Cantabria.

Everything was perfect, the food was delicious and the staff was quick and attentive. The only downside was a dog constantly wandering around the terrace, looking for something to eat, practically weaving between the chairs, which was quite annoying. It seems to be a common problem. Excellent value for money.
We ate here and we absolutely loved it! The food was really, really good, and plentiful too. We ordered the set menu for €20, and some other dishes as well, and we left very satisfied. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially one of the waiters, who was incredibly nice. Plus, you can bring your furry friends, which is another big plus.
Three of us went for lunch and ordered from the menu; everything was excellent and the portions were very generous. We ordered venison stew, wild boar stew, and venison stew. The service was perfect, very friendly. We're from Valencia and we'll definitely be back on a future trip—a great choice, very happy.
A very good weekend menu for €20! Delicious mountain stew, delicious chickpeas with tripe, roasted pork knuckle, and super-delicious meatballs. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We'll be back!
Very nice and homemade food, family had the set nenu, but I went a la carte.because I wanted cocido montañes and steak, both amazing, plus the cheesecake which also really good.
They have a fairly extensive 20-euro weekend menu, as well as an à la carte menu. The food is delicious and homemade. The portions are generously sized, and the service is attentive. The only drawback is that parking is quite difficult.
We went to Mesón El Tropezón because we saw a reel on Instagram that really caught our attention. We were in the area and decided to stop by… and it was a great choice! The place is a typical village restaurant, very spacious, with the option to eat inside or on the outdoor terrace, surrounded by nature and with that rustic charm that makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere is family-friendly and very lively. We ordered cocido montañés—it was divine—and a 1.5-kilo ribeye steak that surprised us with its flavor and perfect cooking. The portions are huge, ideal for sharing, and the home-cooked food is truly homemade, made with care and tradition. We saw many people on social media saying the same thing: hearty dishes, reasonable prices, and that authentic feel that is sorely lacking in many places. Some even call it “the village restaurant with giant plates and ridiculously low prices,” and they're not wrong. It's very popular with travelers and locals alike, so it's best to go hungry…
We had a menu for €15, very good value. We went with the dog and were given a table on the terrace right next to the village church. I recommend booking before going, as it was quite crowded and parking is difficult in the village. Regarding the service, we were very pleased, quite fast, and the staff was very friendly.

We went for dinner on the recommendation of the inn where we were staying, and it was absolutely right. Exceptional service and a generous portion of delicious food. Everything was homemade.
We went with a reservation... and thank goodness... we had a 15 euro set menu, the food was very good and homemade, the service was a bit slow, but it's understandable as there were many people waiting to be seated, however the wait was worth it.

Located in a tiny village yet very close to cabezón de la sal offers homemade food at a very affordable price (13€ for sunday's menu)
Very noisy place. It will be probably a good place for those who prefer quantity over quality ... difficult to park because it' s located in a very small village with very narrow streets
