Alzer's BBQ is a halal BBQ spot in Cedar Park known for its tender and flavorful brisket, lamb sausage, and friendly service, especially from Anthony. Some find the brisket inconsistent or the portions small for the price, but many rave about the overall experience.

Wow. I am Texan born and raised, love bbq from the nostalgic days of tailgating. This is an insanely talented crew. This barbeque takes me back to tailgating as a young kid. It’s BYOB and they have quail! We couldn’t decide which side we liked most and we got them all! Anthony, Omar, Sterling, Sammer. Wow. Thank you for representing the best bbq !
My family and I have ordered food multiple times from here, and it's consistently been a great experience. The brisket is well-seasoned and tender. The Mac and Cheese and creamy and delicious, and the ribs are great. Will continue to order from here.
The food is phenomenal, briscuit passes fold test. Juicy and flavorful. We had the chicken as well and it didn't disappoint. We got mac and cheese, potatoe salad, and Cole slaw and they were all 5 stars. The service was very good too. The guys working were attentive and sweet, service was fast. We came on mothers day and they even had free cake for everyone that said "Happy Mothers Day".
Chopped brisket sandwich and potato salad was excellent. Staff was extremely friendly. This is a restaurant that should be supported. I will be back.
I’m a very picky BBQ consumer. I really like this place and it is among my all time favorites. Sauce is great, lamb sausage is outstanding, and I love the smoked turkey. Give it a try and you won’t regret it.
We visited Austin for a couple of days. We wanted to try a new BBQ place. We found Alzer’s, and we loved it. The food is amazing, the briskets, the ribs, the lamb racks , their sides and especially the sauce everything was so good. Even their coffee and desserts were good. It is family owned, the owners and their kids are so friendly and received us with big smiles. Definitely recommend this place.
Great bbq! The ribs literally fall off of the bone, because the meat is so tender. There's no words for the seasoning, except delicious! 😋
Came all the way from Southern Ontario to try their BBQ. I tried rack of lamb, brisket, and beef back ribs. Everything was amazing! Loved the mac and cheese too, I would suggest trying a crispier top to the mac and cheese made with melted cheese and bread crumps but overall still delicious. The only Halal Texas style BBQ place in Austin
The food was great, the service was fast, and the place was neat and not loud. We had a little bit of everything because it was our first time here, and everything was really tasty. We will come back.
Tried Alzer’s Barbeque in Austin and was really impressed! The food was absolutely excellent — flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The service was decent, nothing over the top but friendly enough. The ambience was nice and clean with a good vibe for a casual meal. Overall, a great spot if you’re craving some solid BBQ. Will definitely be back
We did our catering for 90 people at Frito Lay - PepsiCo today from Alzers and Naser went above and beyond. He brought a food truck and everything was fresh - from the brisket to the sides. Would highly recommend the restaurant and the catering service. Naser was also kind enough to pack around 20 boxes for us with the sides for some of our folks who couldn’t make it in time. Thank you Alzers. Our team loved the food today and we’ll be reaching out again!
Amazing food and super friendly owners and staff. There is a variety of meat to choose from including brisket, quail, ribs, turkey and lamb, then there are the sides. We got the brisket plate with potato salad and bbq beans. Let me start by saying the brisket is crazy good and does not need sauce at all, it is smoked at the site in a separate trailer... the owner is making magic in there! The beans were okay and the potato salad could have used some mustard and/or pickles to bring the flavor up, but the brisket made me forget about the sides anyhow. Will definitely go back when in the area.
Nice place with amazing food. We liked their brisket, cream corn and chopped brisket sandwiches. Awesome and quick service.
I have been to many BBQ places, but this one is by far the best for brisket. They also serve delicious beef ribs every day, which are not too fatty or dry and are a good portion size. What impressed me even more was their beef sausage, which is not easy to find since most BBQ places primarily offer pork sausage “cheap meat”. As a customer looking for kosher or halal options, this place exceeded my expectations and did not disappoint when it came to taste. I would like to express my gratitude to Omar for taking the time to explain their business model and for his warm hospitality. I hope to see another branch of this amazing BBQ restaurant open up in the north. Highly recommended!
Excellent food and service. Traditional brisket, sausage, chicken and they have lamb dishes. Sides are also good. First rate.
This restaurant is very nice, the food is delicious, and everything is clean. Especially, the staff are very kind and friendly. I celebrated my husband’s birthday here, and they helped me organize it perfectly.
WOW!! One of my favorite bbq spots now! It’s so amazing to also know for those that eat halal meat, that some of their menu offerings has halal available. The chopped brisket sandwich is amazing and perfect in size. The wood smoke aroma hits you nicely and the meat is very tender and juicy. The term when meat melts in your mouth is exactly what their brisket is. Add the sauce and a jalapeño and it all just melts in your mouth. The fat ratio in the meat is also great. Can’t wait to visit them again in the future!!
This place is a true hidden gem. I can confidently say after a couple of visits that this is our new favorite BBQ place! MUST TRY: Short ribs, lamb jalapeño cheddar sausage, and turkey. These are all 10/10. The sausage is the best I’ve ever had and tastes absolutely delicious. Service is quick, food is hot and fresh, and the BBQ sauce options are delicious. They also have a bunch of delicious looking desserts but we haven’t tried those yet. We’ll be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This place is great. Went here with my wife fir a couple of brisket sandwiches, and let me tell you this place is GREAT! Their brisket is moist, tender, and SO flavorful. My wife and I went to Stiles Switch and let me tell you that Stiles Switch can Styles Suck-a-lemon because thay have nothing on Alzers. Not to mention price! Paid $90 for a plate of disappointment at styles Switch, paid $8 for each sandwhich and im still thinking about it na day later. Alzers is my new favorite BBQ place, and I can't wait to go again!
Juicy and very tender ribs and brisket, along with the best turkey I’ve ever had in my entire life.I personally loved the cream corn and their signature barbecue sauce. The vibe is nice and doesn’t have obnoxiously loud and annoying music. The service was great would definitely recommend and would come again
Absolutely delicious food. You can tell they take pride in every piece of food that comes out of the kitchen. They are so welcoming and friendly here! 10/10 recommend. The brisket and chicken is to die for, and so are all the sides - I tried Mac & cheese, creamed corn, beans, and potato salad. I have no critiques on anything!!!
Amazing bbq food. 1/2lb brisket and a half chicken fed the family. Added the lamb sausage, kids devoured it. Thank you again!
Ordered dinner to be delivered, the food was amazing and delicious. Each meal was packaged with care and wrapped in Saran Wrap. It may not sound like much but the presentation on a delivery order told me how much they take pride in their product. Chopped BBQ sandwich was so good 🔥
Tried the Brisket Frito pie and oh my it was so so good!! The Brisket was so delicious and I will definitely be getting a sandwich next time. Yummy!
This place was firing on all cylinders. All the meats were great, and I love seeing a BBQ spot offer lamb. All the sides we tried were tasty as well. The service was great and the place was clean and had a great atmosphere. One of the better BBQ spots I've tried, and I say that as someone who's been to Black's, Terry Blacks, etc. The menu is halal. So if you are a Muslim or simply want to support humanely slaughtered animals, this is the best option in the Austin area.
Just had the best bbq I’ve had in a long time. Tried the Brisket, Lamb Jalapeno Cheese Sausage, Smoked Turkey Macaroni and Cheese and MY FAVORITE Creamed Corn. Everything was amazingly delicious. Will definitely come back for more.
Visiting Austin, I went to Smokey Mo's a few times and then I came here. The difference was striking! Everything at Alzer's felt perfectly hand-crafted. The brisket was moist with a perfect cut that has just a little strip of fat which just melted in my mouth. The turkey was moist and flavorful and the jalapeño cheese sausage was savory and delicious. The place has a bit of a vibe of being a community hang-out. I'm just sad I didn't discover it until my 2nd to last day in town and only got to come here twice.
Get the quail. It looks weird, but it tasted amazing. The meat had a sweet, earthy flavor. I have never tasted meat like it. The cream corn was also very good. Better than Rudy's
By far the best brisket we had in Texas. So good that we added a second stop here to our road trip. Incredibly tender meat, well flavoured, and not overly fatty like many other places can be. Service is nearly instant. Highly recommended.
It would be a shame to visit Texas and not try one of its specialties: BBQ. Well, that was almost the case for us since we eat halal, but luckily we found Alzer’s BBQ, which serves authentic Texan BBQ with halal meat. We tried some of the staple dishes and it was a great culinary experience. A must-visit for an authentic taste of Texas!
Fantastic Barbeque, great potato salad and wonderful service! Had always heard about this place but never had the chance to stop and try it out! I am soooooooo happy today was the day we finally made it! Now I am sad we haven't been sooner so we could have enjoyed it longer. It's a cute little food trailer next to a shell gas station with outdoor seating. Why stand in a 3 hour long line in Austin when better barbecue is just around the corner in Cedar Park! Can't wait to come back now that we've found this little secret! P.S. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Amazing halal(kosher) bbq. I’ve tried their brisket they smoked chicken everything on the menu is finger lickin good. They smoke their meat over night. The meat melts in your mouth. A family owned business run by a dedicated family alway welcoming you with a big smile. It’s hard to find halal brisket but Alzer’s have hit it out of the park
Wonderful selection with great flavor. Super friendly staff as well. Highly recommend to anyone looking for halal smokehouse options!
This is my favorite brisket place in town, one of the very few halal options we have and exceptional food. We bulk ordered chicken and brisket from them for our Friendsgiving last year and it was a hit! The portions are generous and service is very kind and helpful. Today we’ve stopped by for lunch from 40 minutes away and it was worth it! We got a pound of brisket and polished so quick we had to get 1/2 lb more, it was moist, tender and full of flavor. We also got the smokey sand which was delicious as well.
Everything was so good. Ordered the brisket, turkey, and smoked burger. Would highly recommend coming here!
Very pleased with my experience here. I don't normally eat meat but I had to cheat here and it was very delicious and halal. I appreciate the positive customer service and the extra sauces! The flavor of everything was amazing I definitely recommend coming here. I will definitely be coming here in the future 😁 Thank you!
Stop here during a trip to Austin and loved the food, service and atmosphere. The service was fast and friendly. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Would definitely recommend to others.
This place is an Austin Texas hidden gem. We are from Florida and were looking for some authentic BBQ ribs. The beef ribs are spectacular, tender, full of flavor and not greasy. The price was very reasonable for the high quality premium beef. Definitely coming back each time we visit Austin.
I was visiting Austin and knew that as a halal foodie, this place was a must-visit. I ordered the half-pound brisket plate with mac and cheese, potato salad, and the complementary pickles and bread. The brisket was very tender, no knife needed, and smoky without being overwhelming. I would have preferred it to be a bit moister/fattier, but it was still delicious. Bottles of thick, sweet barbecue sauce were at each table, but I thought the brisket was much better without it. The mac and cheese had a good noodle to cheese sauce ratio, and likewise the potato salad was bulky (in a good way) and not drowning in mayo. Adding the side pickles to it gave it some extra crunch and tang. Flavorwise, both sides were great while still letting the brisket be the star of the meal. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The dining area was casual (with booths and tables/chairs), with decor that can be described as "wholesome suburban mom". I am definitely glad I came here, and I regret not ordering more to bring home with me. If I come back here someday, I would love to try their turkey and lamb.
The best barbecue I’ve tasted. We walked in and saw how exceptionally clean it was. We ordered and recommend the 1/3 lb brisket per person, which came in less than two minutes. With that there is a large variety of sides and sauces. The brisket was so delicious and tender and the sides were warm and creamy. It’s halal and very cheap for a barbecue place. There was a giant lot of free parking and was very kid friendly, clean, and had very warm staff. If you want to try the best of iconic Austin and Texas BBQ, I recommend Alzers.
Solid classic Texas BBQ with much faster service than a lot of the other places in the area. Brisket was well-seasoned and cook to perfection. We also got the turkey, beef sausage and tried some of the sides. The mac n cheese was the best of the sides. Everything was delicious.
Excellent BBQ, and great catering! I’ve had Alzer’s over for several large events and they come through very well, time after time. Guests always ask where the BBQ is from, and the brisket “sells out”…every time.
Top notch food and caring service! The food was halal and oh so delicious. We ordered the briskets and jalapeno beef sausage. The briskets, sausage, mac and cheese and creamy corn wear some of the best that I had! They even gave us dates as we were fasting. So considerate! Will be visiting regularly 😃
I loooved their barbecue! Its amazing! It's so juicy and tender. I tried their brisket, lamb rack, smokey chicken & potato salad. All these are awesome and highly recommended. But honestly saying I didn't like their coleslaw. Next time I'll try their sandwiches, beef rib, corn, and bbq beans. I hope I am not gonna be disappointed. 😊 They're claiming most of the items are Halal. But I will ask you to verify that your own. I think their sausage and turkey are not Halal.
Perfect place to taste authentic Texan brisket, if there was an option to order in bulk I would have my pantry filled by tomorrow. People often ask if you could eat one food for the rest of your life; now I can confidently respond with Alzer's brisket topped with their special sauce that will leave you different
Food was excellent. Nice atmosphere. I got the beef rib which was moist and tasty. The brisket was trimmed close but enough fat cap to leave it tender and juicy. The sausage I picked was the lamb with cheese and jalapeno. OMG is was delicious. The sides that I picked were Mac and cheese along with slaw. Both were good but not great. I will visit on my next trip back to Round Rock.
Excellent BBQ, juicy, rub had perfect seasoning! Had brisket, ribs, coleslaw, and mac & cheese. Reasonable prices and LOVE that it’s halal!
One of my favorite BBQ places finally opened. It’s their soft opening today and they are back with their delicious halal brisket and ribs. Beef sausage and turkey is not halal. The newly opened place is really nice and well decorated. They have outside seating as well. The friendly people makes this place more good and you would love to come back again.
Admittedly was only there for a pickup but the staff was friendly and accommodating. Tried the brisket, smoked quail, and smoked lamb chops. It was all delicious. Quail probably was transported a little far but that’s on me not the staff. The lamb was amazing with the bbq sauce they provided and I am not typically a sauced bbq kind of guy.
Alzer is a family-owned business that I’d rank as the best Halal BBQ in Texas. The owners are warm and friendly, and it’s become our weekly go-to spot. Their brisket is our absolute favorite, I’d put it on par with Franklin BBQ. I’d even rank BBQ of my friend Amin🌹 as the next best after Alzer and Franklin.😅
The smoked turkey was the best we've had - it was fantastic! Brisket was great and the co-star was the hatch chili mac-and-cheese! Also, really nice people working there. FYI they do not serve alcohol, but there is a liquor store a couple doors down and they let you BYOB.
I had heard of Alzer's some time ago, but until today, I did not have a reason to be in that area. When I heard about their lamb, I had never heard of smoked/barbequed lamb, so I had to try it. If you like lamb, run to Alzer's, do not walk! Their pitmaster is an absolute genius!!. The rack of lamb is one of the juiciest, most tender, flavorful foods I have ever put in my mouth! If you are not a fan of lamb, I am sure the same genius goes into the preparation of all of their meats. I now have a good reason to be in this area on a regular basis. I highly recommend Alzer's Barbeque!
First time being there, was met with friendly service and ended up grabbing the brisket sandwich double meat. Sliced. This beast was massive and soo tasty. Also added jalapeños and god damn. That was some damn good Texas bbq. I’m definitely a returning customer and bringing more family and friends next time
ALZERS Barbecue in Cedar Park, Texas is hands-down one of the best barbecue spots around. Every visit is consistently great, not just because of the food but because of the people who work there. Anthony, who’s usually running the cashier, is phenomenal—always friendly, helpful, and on top of things. Omar is always cutting up and bringing good energy to the place, and the brisket he helps serve is incredible every time. Sterling, who works the night shift, also delivers excellent customer service and keeps the experience just as great no matter how late you show up. Between the amazing barbecue and the awesome staff, ALZERS Barbecue has definitely earned a loyal customer.
I've had a lot of Texas BBQ, but Alzer's in Cedar Park is a whole different level. Not only is the food amazing, but it's a huge relief to know everything on the menu is halal. We got the brisket sandwiches, ribs, and regular sausage, and it was all so delicious. Honestly, the mac and cheese and cream corn were just as good as the meat—they're definitely not an afterthought. The service was super fast, and the guys working there were incredibly friendly. But the thing that really stood out was their genuine kindness. The owners saw us and actually offered us prayer rugs to use on their patio. That’s the kind of hospitality you just don't forget. Great food, great people, and a great experience all around. We'll be back for sure.
On August 1st, 2025, just before closing time in North Austin, I discovered a halal barbecue spot that quietly honors the soul of Texas tradition. My family and I ordered beef ribs, sausages, and brisket, with sides of creamy corn, pickles, green bean (buncis), and bread. Each dish had its charm, but the brisket stood out—tender, smoky, and wrapped in a salt-and-pepper crust that melted effortlessly with every bite. I couldn’t tell how long it had been smoked or marinated, but the flavor spoke of patience, fire, and quiet mastery. That brisket tasted like Texas itself—earthy, bold, and unpretentious. The aroma of post oak lingered in the air, blending with the warmth of the evening and the quiet pride of the pit. It wasn’t just a meal; it was a moment of connection to something deeper. If you’ve never tasted true Texas barbecue, this is your invitation. Try it yourself. You be the judge 😊
Great halal true Texas style BBQ. Tried Smoked Chicken and Beef Brisket. Both were awesome. Banana cheesecake and carrot cake were also excellent. Anthony, Omar and all other staff are very welcoming. I requested them to start a Frequent Customer program for folks like me who will be there at least couple of times every week 😀
Huge BBQ snob here and I can honestly say this is some of the best brisket and beef rib I have ever had. Brisket was super tender and seasoned perfectly. I used just a little BBQ sauce to not drown out the smokey flavor of the brisket. The beef rib was just as tender and perfectly seasoned. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back.
Halal bbq place in north Austin close to roundrock. The meats were excellent. They were all tender n properly seasoned. All of them tasted great. We also took sides of mac n cheese, corn n coleslaw, which paired really well with the main courses. As can be seen in the pictures, we got the chicken, the brisket burger, beef ribs, beef brisket, n beef sausage. The beef sausage could've been a bit more juicy, but it still tasted great. Will be returning in the future hopefully.
This is finger licking, lip smacking GOOD!!! 😍 If you want home cooked, comfort southern bbq, look no further! I got the sliced brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. Paid extra for an additional side of green beans. The brisket meat was tender and moist. Very little to no fat on my serving which I appreciate. The bbq sauce is savory and delectable. The mac and cheese was ooey gooey and thick noodles were used- no skinny Kraft noodles over here! The cheese sauce was gourmet, smooth and great. The green beans made me a little nervous when I didn’t see bacon bits, but it turns out, it didn’t need them! The flavor was packed with a punch of well seasoned beans and chunky chopped onions. Of course, as a lover of pickles, they were crunchy and juicy with perfect flavor. All in all- I’m definitely returning again! I thought for the full meal plus drink, $20 was a good value! I highly recommend- the ambiance and staff were excellent! In the future, I’d love to see a spicy bbq sauce (or maybe I just missed it- I was too busy relishing in that brisket! 🤤). Also, maybe some experimentation in spices in the Mac and cheese? I think y’all could definitely make it happen! I’m looking forward to returning!!!
So, I had never had brisket before due to Halal restrictions, and I was super excited to try it at Alzer’s during my Texas trip. Oh boy, it didn’t disappoint! Melt in your mouth, cooked to perfection and so flavorful! We also tried the lamb rack which was just as impressive! So much so, that we had to go for seconds! And let me tell you about the sides… usually they are the boring after-thought compliments to the hero meats, but gosh, the Mac and cheese and the cream corn we had were out of this world! I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed sides this much! My wife and I are so glad we found this place with Halal brisket so we could get in on the Texas BBQ culture and it definitely lived up to the hype! I would highly recommend Alzer’s!
The meats were not hot enough. And the amount for 20 dollars was small. However, the taste and the environment were good.
First time visit for lunch. Solid value! Has the Beef Rib plate with one side, cream corn. Ribs were great and the cream corn was perfect. They were out of Mac and Cheese but will return again. BBQ Sauce is on the sweet side, like Sweet Baby Ray's. The beef jalapeno sausage had a great flavor.
Brisket was good although a little dry for my liking. Having said that I like the really fatty "moist" brisket. My wife and the kids won't touch the brisket I like because it's too fatty. So being a little on the dry side is probably good for most people. The cream corn is good. Like a 7 out of 10. The Mac and cheese was excellent. Probably 8 or 9 out of 10. The fun different item on their menu is lamb sausage. If you like lamb (think gyros meat) you'll like these. I had the jalapeno and cheese lamb sausage and was very happy with my choice. I'll be back for certain.
I really enjoyed eating at Alzer’s BBQ. Service: Impeccable. Honestly, the servers were very hospitable and welcoming. Ambiance: It gives you this family-run business feel and the venue is clean. Plenty of seats and tables. Food: OK so the brisket was AMAZING! Not quite a fan of sweet bbq which seems to be the common theme in Texas; however, the best part is the bbq sauce is bottled and not served to you on the meat. So you get to decide how much bbq to add.
I had an amazing experience at Alzer's Barbeque! The BBQ was excellent—you can tell they really know what they're doing with the smoker. The brisket had a great smoke ring and was very tender. The side items were just as delicious; the corn was a particular highlight. Top-tier service as well. Definitely a 4-star experience that I'd recommend to anyone looking for authentic BBQ!
One of the few halal Texan BBQ spots in the area. We did takeout, so not sure about the service. Did the medium family order: 4 pounds of meat, 3 large sides. We tried brisket, beef ribs, and beef sausage. Sides were potato salad, creamed corn, and mac and cheese. Came with complimentary bread, pickles, and onions. The price was a hefty $140, but between 6 people, it came to about $23 per person, so I think that's pretty fair for Texan BBQ. Of the 3 meats, beef sausage was my fav, it had jalapenos in it and had quite the kick! The beef ribs, while not winning any awards, were good as well. My only criticism is that it amounted to 3 beef ribs, so we had to split each rib between 2 people. The brisket was supposed to be a mix of moist and lean with some burnt ends, but it leaned mostly lean. I would’ve liked more of the juicy cuts, and I didn’t see any real burnt ends. It was decent, but I’ve had better. For my fam who only eats halal meat and hasn’t had other Texan BBQ, they loved each and every piece of meat, so overall it was a great success. Everything was seasoned really well, and nothing was dried out. The sides were all really impressive. Everyone loved the creamed corn and potato salad. The mac and cheese here was better than at some other, more well known BBQ joints in the Austin area. I wish I’d read some of these reviews prior to ordering, I would have tried some of the lamb items that seem to have some fans. That’ll be for next time. Even if you’re not looking specifically for halal options, I think it holds its own among other BBQ joints in the greater Austin area in this tier.
Homey family owned barbecue joint located in a strip mall off the main road. Overall, the barbecue here wasn’t as smoky compared to similar Texas barbecue places. However, the cook on each meat rendered them tender, juicy, and fall off the bone. I ordered the brisket, lamb chops, lamb sausage, beef ribs, half chicken, creamed corn, green beans, carrot cake, and banana cheesecake. Beef ribs, half chicken, brisket- Nothing to write home about. All perfectly cooked but lacking smokiness and overall flavor, could have used more salt and pepper general. I tried the sauce provided but it was overly sweet for my taste. The lamb chops and sausage were the stars of the show. The lamb chops were rich and succulent. The sausage was snappy and savory, not the typical peppery bite. Not too gamey also more tender than its beef counterpart. If you love lamb, order these items. The creamed corn and green beans side dishes also surprised me. Both perfectly executed for what they were. The green beans were not a mushy mess, stewed with onions and black pepper for extra umami. Lastly, the carrot cake gets an honorable mention. Not what you usually expect from a barbecue place but it rounded out the meal. Moist yet fluffy with the right carrot to cake to pecan to cream cheese frosting ratio for every bite. Cake itself was not that sweet and the cream cheese frosting provided a balance of sweet and tang to the cake. Banana cheesecake was average, a light cheesecake not overly sweet as well. Is this the best barbecue I’ve ever had? No. The typical barbecue items get a three star solely because of the cook, not taste. But the lamb and the sides and the dessert, the most unassuming dishes changed my mind. I would come back for just those items alone.
The Brisket needs more work by the grill master - limited use of dry rub, deficiency in smokiness, wood selection, butcher needs to be changed and so on. Clearly marks for effort but customers expect a higher standard or two. The Ribs slid off the bone effortlessly. The fact that these were in short supply is clear proof of customer acceptance. Beef and Lamb Sausages had limited smoky flavor. Checked my nostrils; they weren't clogged. The Half Chicken plate was satisfactory for those who prefer skin-on. It would have been better if some of the spices had been rubbed under the skin. The Cream Corn and Potato Salad were fine too but the Coleslaw was just a little on the dry side even if the basic ingredients had not been compromised. Good effort to cater to diverse customers with an eye on budget. But then it is always better to strive for a higher culinary standard and let "word-of-mouth" do the marketing for sales to grow. If prices turn customers away then hire a better cost accountant but avoid catering to the lowest common denominator when there are key differentiating characteristics in the much sought after menu - stand above the crowd (i.e. hire a better grill master)
Brisket and sausages I tried were not juicy and they were served cold. Lamb rack tasted fine.
I hesitate to post a review that isn’t “oh my gif best bbq ever”, but here goes. Please note this review comes from opening week. I surely expect things will be better in the future. I had brisket, rub, and sausage with a side of coleslaw. My spouse had chopped brisket sandwich and macaroni&cheese. The chopped was good but could use a little more sauce, which was easy enough to fix with the available sauce containers. The sausage was really good, but slightly odd (not bad, just different). The rib was EXCELLENT. Surprisingly a beef rib, but delicious. I only wish it had about twice the meat for the price. Unfortunately the train went off the tracks from here. The mac&cheese was ok, standard mass-produced food. The coleslaw was very heavily sauced and just not at all tasty for me. I ate about three bites and pushed it away. The brisket was incredibly overcooked and had no bark to speak of. There were difficulties getting my order served. I suspect this is 100% to do with new restaurant growing pains, but it’s worth mentioning in case it continues later. Overall, I may give them another try in a couple months. New restaurants are hard to manage, even if you’ve been in a food truck for a while.
We drove all the way from San Antonio for a good halal BBQ, no wonder the taste is good but it would have been much better and worth of driving if they served hot or at least warm enough to enjoy. Hope it will improve and we would love to visit again.
Food was good don’t get me wrong but it was so small personally, as a big back demon I need double for the same price. The sweet corn was nice and the brisket was great but the green peas was meh and the barbecue was too sweet. The atmosphere was decent and the service was pretty great though. Increase sizes and this places will be out of this world. Ps: the size thing is personal. If you have a small appetite then it will be great for you
Start off with saying the staff was very friendly and helpful on our 1st time. 5 stars for them. But you go to eat so now the food. Brisket was great. A 4/4.5 for sure. Sausage was beef which is good not great. Ribs were small and lacked taste. 2 very small ribs that were mostly bone. Weighed in at 1/2 pound somehow, so for price ide skip. Sauce they have on tables was sweet. Personal preference but I like mine bold not sweet like some KC sauce. Sides literally tasted like they were out of a HEB can or box. Beans were sweet bush style. Again, personal preference for me is bold or chili beans. Potato salad seemed out a tub. For the price especially without offering combo plates it's a bit lacking for me personally. Try small portions yourself before spending 150+ on family of 4.
The food portions compared to other BBQ places are smaller for the price. They don’t do combo plates as other places do, specific selection. Even if you look at my profile, I have been to other BBQ places with better prices, no restrictions on plates, and bigger portions. The regular sausage is probably the worst. It was cold when served. I will say though that their brisket and cream corn are top notch. They serve quail, which you usually don’t see at other BBQ places, not bad. Overall, it is okay. Though, I personally prefer other places. In addition, they didn’t have a diaper station in either bathroom.
Extremely disappointed in this establishment. Me and my family decided to come here since me and my husband eat halal only and wanted to try authentic Texas bbq, we’re from New York and there are no authentic bbq places there so coming to Texas we were looking forward to trying some. This is the only halal Texas bbq in the Austin area so we decided to come despite it taking almost 2 hours to do so. When we arrived my sister went up and ordered and noticed prices were higher than what she’s used to (she’s a Texas native) since other places are less but since it was halal she was okay with it. The food came out really quickly and we were very pleased (at first). We all started eating and soon after we all ended up sick, all after eating the brisket. My aunt started throwing up in the restaurant. Myself and everyone else threw up soon after we left. All of our stomachs were in extreme pain and we were all miserable. Before leaving my sister spoke to the woman at the front stating we all got sick and she acted very nonchalant and not all caring about the fact we’re all S I C K. Saying “we shouldn’t have ordered a fatty cut and gotten a leaner one” despite the fact we have never been there so how could we have known? Offered a free soda as if that will fix our stomach pain. Despite that horror show of brisket the ribs and sides all tasted great, but that brisket making us sick really ruined this entire experience for my entire family. Never have I been more disappointed in an establishment, we were so excited for me and my husband to try real Texas bbq while visiting and this was the worst part of our trip. Owner please do better. How you acted when we stated we were sick and tried to put the blame on us was so extremely unprofessional and disappointing . Saying we should have done blank is taking absolutely no accountability in the fact that we got sick from your food. No one comes into a restaurant wanting to be sick and throwing up and even then insinuating it’s their fault they got a sick. Such a disappointment coming here and wasting $200 on food that gave us food poisoning.
Atmosphere was fine, nothing to scoff at. Sadly the food was nothing special, didn't have a great deal of flavor and was overpriced. Service was great at the front counter but when getting our food it felt like we were an inconvenience. Won't be back, at those prices for the lack of flavor I could go to Rudy's for a better experience (And that's not even my goto place).
