Splendid service today at Sunday lunch. Courteous and attentive staff, super efficient service and absolutely top notch food. The roast beef today was simply decisions and the sponge pudding with marmalade and cointreau infused sauce was, I have to say, perfect. Monsieur Blanc himself would have been very pleased with the qualitative standard and cuisine at today's service. Compliments to all, from front of house and table staff right through to chef's line and kitchen staff. Formidable!
We were very impressed by the table service, the quality of the food and the ambience. It was a very good menu with plenty of variety. Every dish was well cooked and carefully presented. There was a mix up with our starters order but the waitress was most apologetic and it was sorted quickly. Our complimentary bottle of rosé was very good too. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Be mindful that the drinks are pricey but that's not unusual for a top class restaurant. The mains cost quite a bit more than average at approx £24 but this isn't an average night out! Our meal for 4 was over £200 which included 5 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts, soft drinks, beer and port. Service is included in the bill.
Such a beautiful place with wonderful friendly staff. I’m not surprised my friends had come here for dinner 3 days in a row to try all their veggie dishes! We very much enjoyed the cheese soufflé and dessert soufflé! Definitely worth eating again when I next visit. The lamb roulade was delicious though I did have food envy with the tasty trout. Keep up the amazing work!
I recently dined at this restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations. The staff's hospitality was outstanding, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff catering to every need. Now, let's talk about the food – it was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was a masterpiece, a perfect blend of flavors and presentation. Perfection on a plate indeed. A must-visit for anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience. Five stars without a doubt!
This was my first visit. We had a delicious lunch and chose from the pre fixe menu. Very good choices available for starters, mains & desserts. There was also an offer of a glass of wine included plus a non alcoholic mocktail option. The mocktail was delicious. The waiters gave us excellent service. We enjoyed it so much I’ve booked to visit again.
One of the best experience of eating I’ve ever had. I had a main and a desert. My main, the artichoke and chestnut mushroom pithivier was stunning. The pastry was rich and buttery with a deep, flavoursome and almost meat-like filling in the rich savouriness of it all. The red wine and port sauce was deep and unctuous, bringing depth and umami to every mouthful. Pickled girolles, braised baby onions, and grilled leeks added char, acidity and texture that perfectly balanced the dish. It was hearty, homely food, refined perfectly and something I know, with regret, I could never cook at home. It was food that made me incredibly happy, and I found myself savouring every bite. My partner had the wild mushroom and bulgar wheat salad. The bulgar was tender, salty and had a wonderful almost bouncy texture to it, and had the wonderful flavours of roasted butternut squash, beetroot, tarragon oil and pomegranate molasses that added richness and sweetness. I could have demolished that too. Our deserts were dark chocolate delice - smooth as satin, rich and fruity, with sweet salted caramel crémeux, lime caramel, and salted caramel ice cream that helped offset the richness. My partner had the pistachio soufflé which was the perfect consistency and with a bit of almond kick. I wasn’t as keen but it was her desert and she loved it. The non alcoholic drinks were excellent and the service was flawless. A beautiful setting to eat and an incredibly efficient team who were funny, attentive and checked in to make sure we were happy, despite a very busy service. This is one of those rare food experiences where I can’t fault a thing. I only regret not ordering a starter too as they all look excellent. Like a hungry terminator, I’ll be back.
Excellent as a surprise for my other half on his birthday. He is still raving about his superb, perfectly cooked steak! Pistachio souffle was a light delicious end to the meal. This restaurant is consistently good and in 19years has never let me down as my go to local place for great food and wine. Staff are friendly, efficient and happy.
Worth coming back . Took my mum out for lunch on her birthday, totally worth it . Very attentive & welcoming staff , peaceful atmosphere, very tidy . Easily served our foods based on our dietary requirements, a nice plate of ravioli and white fish. Dessert was the best bit , the pistachio soufflé was excellent.
After watching Marie Antoinette on BBC, we decided to go to a fancy French restaurant, and you can't get French or fancy than Brasserie Blanc. The setting is beautiful on the Promenade in Cheltenham's Montpellier area. It has been converted from a spacious regency ballroom into fine dining room. Despite specialising in French cuisine, they champion British based suppliers. It is part of famous French chef, Raymond Blanc, restaurant chain. The food tasted amazing and so rich, it's a good job the portions aren't huge. You will than likely need a side order to top it off. We both had beef bourguigon with a creamy spinach side dish and a celeriac dish. It's definitely worth it for a romantic date.
Excellent around. We had a Christmas meal there as well & noted how good the staff were. Well worth a visit.
Brasserie Blanc in Cheltenham is back to firing on all cylinders. It was a long time since we were last there as we felt food quality was poor for the price. Our visit this week was however really enjoyable. A nice atmosphere even though it was Tuesday evening. The service was great - attentive but not rushed. The menu has improved since we were last there and the food was very good with reasonable portion size. All in all a lovely evening.
Food is always consistently good with a great selection that changes seasonally. The staff are among the friendliest and most welcoming people in Cheltenham. We have been dining here for a long time now and it’s definitely worth the visit.
Recently came here with my partner for my 60th birthday and the food was lovely, as is everything about this place. The service was excellent and the price very reasonable. The bar staff are always so friendly and it has a great atmosphere every time. Wouldn't go anywhere else, especially for a special occasion.
Christmas Day lunch was superb. 9 people, managed very well with attention and humour. Excellent meal and although expensive (as Xmas Day), no more than other venues. Superb.
Our 1st visit.. cracking Sunday Roast, will definitely be visiting again, mentioned to our handler Alex that we were there for mother's birthday and he brought her dessert out with a candle.. great food, great service. Might bring the dogs next time 😊
We got a last minute reservation this evening as our hotel restaurant was closed for a private function, we are very glad it was. The welcome was very warm, our server Piotr was SO lovely, cheerful and friendly and efficient. We had our favourite, cheese soufflé, which was heavenly and lapin à la moutarde which was also very tasty. A very, very good evening, thank you x
A truly ace restaurant. We were taken there by friends while visiting them and it was a real treat. It was a Friday evening and the place was packed but the service was still excellent - prompt but not rushed. The staff were friendly and genuinely knowledgeable about the excellent food and the wine. An excellent piano trio played the American songbook. All in all a great evening.
Absolutely excellent from start to finish. It’s always rubbish when your birthday falls on a gloomy Monday but Kamillla, Francesca, Piotr and Kate made the evening so special and warm. The food was exceptionally good, a rare thing these days where you get the holy trinity of wonderfully cooked food, attentive friendly service and attention to detail. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with gorgeous lighting and smart clean menus. No wonder people don’t go out that much anymore because nothing has met these standards for a very long time. It was refreshing to be so impressed. Thank you.
Excellent food and fantastic atmosphere. The cheese soufflé is amazing as was the Sea Bream and the pistachio soufflé. Highly recommended.
My first visit and the quality exceeded my expectations, which were high! Superb confit duck leg for main course and an unforgettable pistachio soufflé for dessert. A little more expensive than most restaurants but undoubtedly worth it; I'd much rather dine here once than any mid-priced restaurant twice. Highly recommended.
Working away, I spotted the Prix Fixe menu and decided to give it a try, was really impressed, went for the two courses, which also included a drink, which was a really nice surprise. The food came out quickly and was really good, staff were attentive and friendly. What really hit the spot was it was under my expenses budget for a change. Definitely one to look out for if you want good food at a great price
Good quality, well sourced produce and ingredients are at the heart of their seasonal menus. The kitchen pass runs along the back wall so the chef’s preparation is on show. The service is good and the food comes to the table perfectly cooked and hot. This was particularly for the roast dinners and my pistachio soufflé which steamed as my spoon sank into its mint green moussy depths. No picture of my pork rib eye with pork crackling, apple sauce abd pear chutney as I dived straight in. Pommes Dauphinois - the potatoes were whisper thin and melted into the touch of cream - divine. Spring cabbage simply steamed and unadorned - shows understanding and confidence in the kitchen. Such good value and a convivial atmosphere too.
We had a family dinner at Brasserie Blanc and it has been simply amazing. The staff is friendly and attentive, the ambiance is elegant and the food is superb. I would definitely recommend the cheese soufflé and the sirloin steak because it was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. Fernanda and the other manager that served us have both been amazing and made our night memorable, will definitely be back!
It’s a testament to the quality of food and value for money that this restaurant is at least 80% full on a Monday evening. So well run you are never far away from your next course or drink. A pleasure to dine here - the main was delicious - Toulouse Sausages, sage & onion mash, Lyonnaise sauce and crispy shallot.
Can’t thank the staff enough who stepped in to save a Christmas lunch surprise for my partner. We’d been badly let down by a so called top restaurant and needed to find another at short notice (within 15 minutes). Food was excellent will be going back again soon.
Best service ever, food was a bit late but the manager is really nice and rushed the food for us. Big thumbs up
Really lovely lunch today in Cheltenham! We had the Virgin Experience set menu and it was fabulous. Super friendly staff, everyone we met was lovely but hostess Jo stood out as especially helpful. I can’t have dairy and she kindly help me make the right choices! Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Quick and attentive service, we will happily return!
Went for Sunday lunch, had the roast beef, which was fantastic, cooked perfectly, still pink in the middle and bottomless roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy, again cooked perfectly, it's been a long time since I've left a restaurant full, highly recommended. Offered good value for money £275 for 6 with 2 good bottles of wine and 3 dessert. Lady serving was very knowledgeable on the wine list with good recommendations.
Super friendly, very young but efficient & attentive staff. Delicious French bistro-style food, well cooked. Light and roomy feel to an elegant setting. At the upper end of the budget, but well worth it
We had a great visit on very busy Friday before Christmas. 12 of us enjoyed great service, decent food with a good atmosphere. Special thanks to Joanna at front of house.
Recently had a large gathering to celebrate getting married and we couldn’t be happier. Fantastic service, they really looked after us and we never felt rushed or fussed. Lovely food. Highly recommend.
My wife and I love Sunday lunch and have tried most pubs and restaurants in and around Cheltenham. There are a lot of great ones including The Old Spot and The Ox but the beef at Brasserie Blanc knocks others out of the water. Roasted onion and roasted beetroot on a Sunday lunch is absolutely brilliant and individual cauliflower cheese (without having to add as an extra) is great. Fantastic staff for who nothing is too much trouble and a really nice atmosphere conducive to eating and chatting have elevated this place to our new go-to.
The service and food it first class. A lovely atmosphere and dining experience. Probably the best service I've ever experienced.
Had a girly meal out with six friends. Qualified for the half price main course deal which was great. Wine reasonable priced. Staff helpful and sweet. Atmosphere was good for us as a quieter night and not noisy on a Thursday. We all had a lovely evening, portion sizes enough for us. Thank you.
Good service, nice atmosphere and 'buzz'. Food OK, just not very inspiring. We were left feeling the cheese souffle was reheated from frozen (very dry, crispy, thank goodness for the jug of cheese sauce), and the burger was dry. Pricey for what it was - £45+ per head for 2 courses and a couple of beers... We used to come here regularly when you did the set lunch menu and were consistently very happy, but not been for a while, and this didn't tempt me to come back sadly.
Lovely restaurant with very friendly service. The appetizers and desserts were wonderful. The soufflé is a must have! To be honest, the mains were a bit bland, but that can be our American palates.
A wonderful setting for an early mother's day treat, food & service to a good standard in an unpretentious surroundings. Food & drinks are reasonably priced for the quality & level of service you receive. It's worth registering on the mailing list as we receive a £20 discount voucher, to put towards the meal.
Wholeheartedly recommended. The greeting at the front desk was not warm but the table service was great. The atmosphere was lively with a real welcoming vibe. The food was fabulous. We were on an experience voucher, so we thought the menu might disappoint but it certainly didn’t. The pistachio soufflé was amazing! Will be back for more! (Sorry BB - I posted this when it was incomplete, so now it’s edited).
Beautiful decoration from entrance, reception to dining areas. We came for the Sunday roast and the food is OK. The staff are helpful.
Great food, good atmosphere Staff ready to please. Food took a while between courses, but preferable as food presentation and digestion all part of a slow leisurely lunch.
Lovely lunch, well cooked and served. However, when we asked for cheese, we were told there was none available! I have never been to a french restaurant that has no cheese board, sacre bleu!
Christmas lunch so very busy, staff were friendly and attentive to dietary restrictions. Service was slow, taking around 2hrs for our lunch courses however some of that is just how busy it was. The bean soup starter and crumble dessert were both good however the main turkey Christmas lunch was not good and could be improved in all areas. Unfortunately no 0% cider on offer. I chose the berry burst mocktail instead which was nice but every sip was accompanied with berry seeds. I would expect more for the prices that I saw.
It was ok. Food was tasty, nothing special. Not sure what I expected. I didn't expect to turn up wait for my guests and discover they were already there on another table. Couple of other small mistakes...burnt menus from the candles was a turn off as well...it's not a cheap place to eat
A throughly disappointing experience. Christmas works meal for 10 people - super disappointing - fillet steaks and Chateaubriand over cooked, (one fillet steak was served completely cut in half horizontally) with fries and limp salad leaves, eaten off seriously wobbly tables and served by a miserable young male waiter who made us feel like a total inconvenience! £600+ later and I imagine we could have had better at the Harvester Pub! Uber poor steaks and service!! On a side note, the starters and desserts were much better than the mains.
We came here to get some dessert and drinks. I ordered the chocolate cake, but to my surprise this was the size of a spoon, ridiculously small for the price you pay. I know french restaurants and food sizes, but this was a rip off at 8£, plus they added service charge at the bar for our drinks as well, so this tiny cake ended up costing us way too much. We decided not to get dinner, we will not return.
