Great food excellent service love it
I love Emilio's, both the Sol y Nieve location downtown and the original location in Hillside, a western suburb of Chicago! The food is fabulous and Emilio and his staff are so hospitable and fun! Another great option, in addition to going to the restaurants, is to order the huge paella delivered to your home for a special party.....always a crowd favorite!
We went with a Spanish citizen and it more than met his Barcelona standards. Staff was helpful, prompt, and responsive to our parties various requests. Food and wine were excellent.
After living in Spain for three years the food was very authentic! Everything was delicious! We enjoyed the tapas & sangria last night & it reminded us of the wonderful time we spent in Spain!
Lived a block away for 6 months and after i tried this place i wondered how did i miss on it for so long... Food is really really good... I tried at least 9 tapas off their menu from cold, hot and dessert and all was good. Thumbs up...
I meant to come here for my birthday, but I forgot the name of this place when my friend was making plans. Instead I went to cafe iberico and was really disappointed with them despite all their hype. Now that I remember Emilio's I will be going back very soon to make up for it. I previously went to Emilio's a year ago and hope they haven't changed anything! Great atmosphere, sangria, servers, music, small plates and desserts!
This place rocks!! Paella de bacalao, octopus sol y nieve, jamon serrano and profiteroles de pireneo were simply delicious. Staff was friendly and professional! I gained probably 3 pounds! Really recommended!!!
My wife and I went to Emilios for a date night. It was delicious! Definitely exceeded expectations and was well worth the price. Service was great. We will definitely be back.
This place is located downtown on Ohio street. All of the waiting staff and hosts are so accommodating, polite and professional. They have fantastic dishes and you have the option to order large or small meals. :)
Nice tapas bar away from a lot of the hustle of the city. Great menu, all of ours cane out very flavorful. Finished up with the bacon wrapped dates!
Great tapas and sangria! Friendly staff. They let me eat, charge my phone and read my book in peace. Bacon wrapped dates are delicious!
Tapas were great. The cold chorizo on toast points with onion jam and Dijon is incredible. The scallops special in saffron butter sauce was to die for. Highly recommend.
Emilio's tapas offers the best tapas in the Chicago area. I have been to both the Streeterville and Hillside locations. Service was outstanding at both. The food can't be beat. I recommend the garlic potato salad.
The food was great! Even better was the service! Jose made it a memorable experience. This guy needs a promotion. I'd hire him any day! Thank you Jose!
Not bad at all. Not the best tapas ever, but pretty good. You get a bottle of vine when you order paella, which is very nice.
Excellent place I love the Spanish food especially the paella everything taste awesome. Waiters very friendly and really nice environment
We had two different red wines. We choose 11 different plates to pass. All our food was excellent. Nothing left over.
We had an enjoyable dinner here. Friendly staff and good food. Will definitely return for more.
Never been to Chicago before but I was reading people's review thru Google and saw this, Emilio's Taps Sol y Nieve. I have to say, any resturant with the name Emilio in it must be AWESOME!!!!!!lol I know where I'm going to when I pass through Chicago.lol
This place was amazing! We ordered all of the hot tapas plus a few cold, along with their specials for 6 of us and it was perfect. Tomato bread might sound boring but believe us, it's not. I also got the flan for dessert which was spot on. Highly recommend for a group of people who like trying new things and drinking good wine 🥂
I come from Europe and absolutely love fine dining. Here they have crazy good food, amazing paellas, good portions. We were a table full of friends, so we ordered several plates of tapas and then shared a large seafood paella. It was great and everyone left very happy!
The food is unbelievably good and the service is as well. It isn't cheap, but it is worth every penny. We were happy with every dish that we tried. It is especially nice to go with a group so that you can try more dishes before everyone is too full to consider another bite.
Emilio's has very yummy authentic tapas! We have celebrated Easter there twice. They were not busy. Unfortunate-as they were ready for children: they had dozens of full Easter baskets lined up.. The garlic potato salad is decadent! The mushrooms with lemon were also delicious. They skimped on the shrimp in one dish- actually sliced them in half & put only a few thin slices on the dish. The chicken kabob was small but tender & tasty. Sangria by the pitcher, and creme brulee with chocolate chips in it rounded out the meal. The staff were friendly; The washrooms clean. Street parking at $4./hr was plentiful on Easter Sunday...We all will definitely return!
The staff was friendly and helpful. First time trying Tapas, while visiting a city far from home. They welcomed us warmly and guided us through the steps of ordering our Tapas and were understanding while we asked questions about what was in the dishes and how they were prepared. It was a quiet nite there, so we had a great meal and new experience.
Fun place with an authentic vibe. All of our food was tremendous. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely eat here again. I have been to both locations. They are both excellent.
Best tapas ever. Well worth going . Potato salad amazing and the prunes were fantastic. Our server put the prunes on the table last, as she said more like a dessert, and she was right. Definitely would go back if I ever get back to Chicago.
Eating at Emilios Tapas Sol y Nieve was a wonderful experience. Immediately after I walked in with my wife, we were treated to a cozy booth, water, rustic bread, and free hors d'oeuvres. The ambiance is intimate and elegant, while exuding a classic European vibe. Our waiter was extremely attentive and accommodating, going out of his way to please us. I couldn't have been happier with the service. Suffice to say, the waiter received a nice tip for his efforts. The food and drinks were great too. We ordered the Queso de Cabra al Horno to start and it was amazing. For our main course, we ordered the Paella a la Valenciana. The paella was good quality, but a bit more salty than I anticipated. Portion size is shareable for two people. Overall, We left Emilios full and happy, with a bag of leftover bread as well.
One of the best Tapas places that Chicago has to offer. We all know hoe tapas places provide tiny plates, but let me tell you, as small as these plates are; it was the most savory, most delicious I have ever had. Their Sangria is outstanding! Must try the mango!! The bacon wrapped dates are out of this world! If only it was possible to give infinity stars! Yummy!
Amazing experience! I don't normally leave reviews but they were great and the food was excellent! We met Emilio and he was extremely friendly and a person you can become friends with after one meeting. Highly recommend
Great tapas & sangria! Make sure to end your meal with Datiles con Tocino.
great tapas - excellent hummus! great sangria! fun place for birthday and special events - they staff is very cooperative with cutting cakes from other locations!
This Spanish restaurant is located near the Mag Mile. The food is really good there. However, their sanglia tastes quite strange, so different from what I have had before.
An amazing restaurant with a nice selection of wines. -star is due to prices. If you have a thick wallet, this restaurant is definitely a five stars restaurant.
Very good tapas. Nothing out of this world, but good, authentic Spanish food that isn't too expensive. Very good for after work drinks/snacks.
Great food. Somewhat off the tourist grid, but would definitely recommend if you're visiting Chicago and staying in the magnificent mile area.
The food was decent. Maybe slightly overpriced but that’s the norm given the neighborhood. Corning fee is $25, def a bit steep!
Wow, this place was packed, even on a rainy Thursday. Great vibe, just like Spain. The menu is a bit more limited than some Tapas places, but there is a nice variety. We really liked the beef dishes; very tender and good quality. There’s also a nice selection of Spanish wines. Service was very friendly, and noise levels are reasonable, even when busy, particularly at the window tables.
Delicious dinner. Four people and we had six different tapas items, plus plenty of bread. Service was excellent. Baked goat cheese with tomato, grilled lamb chops, pureed garbanzo beans topped with onions and peppers, marinated grilled portabello mushrooms, cheese platter, garlic potato salad - all yummy!
You know that Italian food in America is not authentic Italian. The same goes to Mexican, Chinese or whatever ethnic restaurant you can think of. However you can find authentic Spanish dishes at Emilio's. They are rich in flavor and prepared at the moment so please ask for a good Spanish wine in the meantime. It's a very civilized way to wait.
It has an amazing atmosphere with with bunch of food and drink selection. If you’re not familiar with restaurant and Spanish cuisine they explain how their menu works and what’s the best selection for you. However while they do this, they seem little angry that makes you nervous a little bit :) It’s pretty easy to get the restaurant either your own car, ride share and public transportation.
Came to this place by chance and was happy to come here. What we ate was wonderful and the sauces and marinades they cook tapas in are wonderful. Staff is very attentive. They also have kids menu and good for kids.
We were very glad we went. Each dish was freshly and we'll prepared. Excellent value. Nicely spaced tables. Timely and friendly service. I'd be a regular if I lived in Chicago.
In the restaurant now with some friends who had been here before. Disappointed with sea food paella, it was very small for the price it asked. Friends who had been here said it was bigger in the past, not sure about that, but today dishes was really small. Quality and service was OK.
This place is mediocre at best. The Merlot was ice cold, patatas bravas were soggy, and the paella de mariscos was over cooked. We received excellent attention from the waitstaff in the beginning of the night when they only had a few tables seated but by the end of our meal our waitress turned into Houdini.
My mom ordered a salad that was supposed to come with avocado. When she noticed none was on there she asked the server to please bring some. The server came back with three slices of avocado for her salad. I get that avocados are expensive but I think that salad warranted more than three slices. The rest of the food we got was below average but edible so I gave 2 stars
Service was good the tapas ordered were good, but the paella was the worst I have ever tried. My husband and I live in Miami and have had very good ones. It's a shame to call it paella
We found it was expensive for the quality and quantity of the food provided. The atmosphere was nothing to complain about but the ultimate goal of any restaurant should be to provide tasty food and they failed in that regard.
This place was absolutely disgusting as well as over priced. Served wine with flies in it (see photos). Blamed that on sitting outside. Moved inside and there were just as many flies. Gambas (shrimp) were a joke, served cold with a heavy cream sauce to cover the fact they weren't very fresh. I hope I don't get sick from this place.
Worst experience in town! Completely tasteless paella and tapas. Paella Valenciana just wrong from ingredients that seem not even fresh. Shrimp had a terrible taste. Bread was served without olive oil and again not fresh. i waisted 50 bucks sadly.
So, you know when you read a review and you think" I hope family and friends did not leave all the positive reviews of this place". Expensive for what it is. Paella was just sad: no salt, no crust, steamed seafood on top, frozen peas. I told the waitress the wine had a Marsala flavor ( I am a chef and sommelier) she gave me the shoulder shrough... The chorizo/ham and cheese sampler was tiny. Live music was absent tonight... The promise of it large be on sign upfront.
