Exceptional service by the staff, ultra attentive to any questions or needs. I asked maybe like 10 questions about the food and menu and our servers were always able to explain things in detail. Food is consistently delicious too, their steak was grilled to perfection, and was so tender, flavorful, and delicious! Love their white cheddar mac and cheese, a5 Tartare, and grilled mushroom sides too. HH menu is also incredible value - crispy rock shrimp portion was huge, fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, pierogis were also delicious. Tuna crudo was a very small portion but the tuna was so succulent I couldn't even tell it was fish! Have been here twice in 2 weeks now can't wait to go back again!

Food was excellent! I had salmon and it was well seasoned and juicy. Appetizers and Mac and cheese were so good! Wait staff was attentive and helpful.

Top notch steakhouse. Service was on point and attentive. Upscale atmosphere, great menu, I guess reasonably priced for Chicago. Dinner for 2 without tip and no alcohol or dessert $256. Had beef wellington for 2, three sides...which were just OK, but a generous serving, the rock shrimp appetizer, delicious! And Ceasar salads. A lot of food! The little biscuits bread service were addicting. I would go back to try their Waygu selections. They had a cool dessert cart they were rolling around, but I couldn't fit it in. I don't like this 4% additional fee they sneak in, on top of taxes and tip, the meal goes up 25%! But...that's vacation in the city.

Great date spot or for occasions. Has an old money aesthetic, and popular for their beef Wellington. It’s on the pricey side, and says is shareable for two but if I didn’t get any other dishes or appetizers, I could’ve eaten it by myself. It was really good though, and a rare menu item. The lobster bisque and oysters were really tasty, and the corn side dish was surprisingly one of the best corn dishes I’ve had. Overall really professional and attentive service. Would recommend.

We celebrated my fiancé’s birthday here and had an amazing experience. The service was top-notch, the food was incredible, and the attention to detail really stood out. This place is seriously underrated and deserves more love. Highly recommend!

The lobster bisque was full of lobster flavor along with delicious pieces of lobster. Excellent flavor on the Brussel sprouts which had a little kick of spice. The steak was okay.

Positives: the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and the food was absolutely gorgeous. The Wagyu fillet, filet mignon and stuffed chicken schnitzel were phenomenal. We ordered and shared a bunch of the sides and loved them; the creamed corn, mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese were real stand outs! Negatives: Service was a little slow because the restaurant was totally packed and the waiters were spread a little thin but everyone was very nice. Also the restaurant was quite loud

I had a business dinner here tonight and all I can say is AMAZING! From the time we walked through the door the service was top notch. From the hostess, the waiter, busser, drink service and food runner, everyone was pleasant and on top of things. The food was absolutely delicious. Top meal of the year for me. We started with the cold platter and French onion soup. I had the Surf and Turf (highly recommend) and others had the bone in filet. Sides were mac and cheese and asparagus. I honestly can't understand any bad review. This place is top notch on ever level. Thank you to everyone who worked tonight and made the evening amazing! I will return.

Went there with a group of 5. Had reservations at 7pm, but we got early. They were happy to accommodate us anyways! Food was great, we ordered 2 giant steaks to share, plus some appetizers and sides. Everyone loved the tomahawk steak, but my favorite was the porterhouse. Desserts were also fantastic! Never had a coffee creme brulee before, but it was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions for drinks. Hope to visit again some time!

Very high-end restaurant centered in Chicago in the Fulton market district. We selected a sampling of three different meats for four people. All were wonderful. Wagyu beef is phenomenal. Service was spectacular. Atmosphere was equally matched by the quality of the meal. Cannot go wrong but expect to pay quite a bit. Was it worth it? If you can afford it yes it is. And if you are so inclined chances are great you could be entertained by a magician side table close up for an additional $70.

Absolutely phenomenal through and through. This is hospitality. If you want excellent service, food, drinks, and atmosphere - go to swift and sons. Shout out to Jorden, for making our night so special, and the rest of the staff and kitchen for an incredible overall experience. 100/10.

Swift & Sons did not disappoint! From the moment we sat down, the vibe was warm and classy, with candlelight setting the perfect mood for a great night out. We kicked things off with some super fresh oysters—briny, ice-cold, and paired with the perfect sauces. Such a solid start! Then came the star of the show: the Bone-In Ribeye. Perfectly seared, juicy, and packed with flavor. Honestly, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. On the side, we had the Brussels sprouts, which were next-level good—crispy, caramelized, and packed with flavor. And let’s not forget the bread basket, because who doesn’t love warm, fresh bread? Between the amazing food, great service, and overall atmosphere, this spot is a winner. Definitely coming back!

Love this place. Been a few times over the years when I visit and always come back. Oysters are delicious! Happy hour is a nice way to enjoy these. Ambiance is intimate and chic, music is nice and not too loud, can still have conversations with to your party.

Went here for celebration and the staff went above and beyond. First, I got a signed card and personalized menu. Second, our party of 5 was seated a bit out of the way, there were a few other parties near us), but felt like a private room. Thee, food was incredible. We split the porterhouse, wagu ribeye, truffle risotto, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, and green beans. Their round and round cocktail was my favorite drink. Everything was incredible and can’t wait to return!

We visited on a Saturday evening and had reservations. The service was amazing. The server and bus staff were attentive and polite. The server was well versed on the menu and made some excellent recommendations. The cocktail cart was a nice unexpected addition too. Food was delicious. The steak was cooked exactly how we requested. So happy we saved room for desert too! Overall very pleased and will return.

Swift & Sons: Where Magic Meets Meat In a house once packed with butter and beef, Now lives a fine dining tale beyond belief. Steel bones still show in the ceiling above, But warmth fills the room, from food and from love. For a milestone marked with a festive cheer, We stepped into Swift’s with hearts sincere. And what did we find? Oh, come take a look. A steakhouse that reads like a storybook. Our night began with a smoky delight, A bourbon cart rolled in, gleaming and bright. A5 Old Fashioned, with wagyu-washed grace— A tableside pour with theatrical pace. We toasted with cocktails, all crafted with art, Each one precise, strong-willed, and smart. From citrusy whispers to drinks that could smolder, Each sip made our celebration feel bolder. We started with biscuits, all cheddar and fluff, And focaccia that whispered, “You’ve not had enough.” Then tartare of salmon with citrus to sing, And pierogi with truffle, our taste buds took wing. The pea salad danced with mint and with peas, While French onion soup brought us down to our knees. Then came the steaks, oh, what a parade! Aged ribeye, New York, Beef Wellington displayed. The lobster tail nestled, a luxe pairing treat, A surf-and-turf harmony, buttery and sweet. And yes, there was marrow, roasted and rich, A side so indulgent it gave us a twitch. With onions and cherries, a savory jam, A decadent flourish, as luxe as they come. Mac and asparagus, crisp and bold, A chorus of sides, none shy or cold. French fries in béarnaise, joyfully fried, Nothing on that plate was pushed to the side. But oh, the surprise! A magician appeared, Henok the mystic, both charming and weird. He read us like pages, no spoilers, we vow! Just know that your jaw will drop—somehow. Then desserts to dazzle: brûlée with a shell, Carrot cake crowned with a cardamom spell. The birthday boy beamed, a candle, a cheer, With a signed card from staff, what a beautiful year. Brittney, our server, with grace and with care, Matched our tone perfectly, light as the air. Each course felt considered, the service tight, Every detail touched just right. We left not just full, but fully impressed— With stomachs content and spirits blessed. Swift & Sons, you’ve set the bar, A Chicago steakhouse—and a rising star. Come for the steak, the service, the spell— And let your next dinner be magical as well.

Steak is the star at this restaurant but the sides were amazing and I honestly loved every cocktail our group got! We even brought a 7 week old and they were very accommodating, bringing a cup of hot water to warm our bottle and having a changing table in one of the restroom stalls near the bar. The burger is HUGE. Good luck eating it unless you can unhinge your jaw. Definitely not for first dates. My friend's birthday was celebrated here appropriately! 10/10 recommend

The best fine dining service I've ever received. I went for my 2 year anniversary and every staff member welcomed us and said happy anniversary including a handsigned card at our table. The beef wellington was one of the best things I ever ate. And we mentioned to a manager, who stopped by to check in, that we may habe to come every year and she made us a custom save the date card for 2026. It was fantastic. And I will definitely be back. Worth every penny.

Went here with the family. The host and hostess were really great. They made the kids super comfortable. The ambience was awesome. The food was hit or miss. Loved the dragon shrimp. Scotch eggs were meh. French onion soup was Ok. Steak was phenomenal. Salmon was Ok. Lamb is a must have. Highly recommend for a cozy night with friends and family

Came here during Chicago restaurant week and was thoroughly impressed by great food, fantastic service and attention to detail and overall vibe/experience. We received custom menus, and a handwritten note to celebrate our anniversary. Highly recommend S&S.

Attentive service and delicious food in an exciting atmosphere. We had a Wednesday night reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant was alive with activity! The mobile bar and magician were out and about! We requested wine parings with each course and were not disappointed. The bread and Heirloom Tomato Salad were incredible! The Halibut and Risotto dishes were fabulous as well! Thank you for a wonderful anniversary experience!

We came here for a personal celebration and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, particularly our waiter, who established a nice vibe from the very start and was light and congenial throughout our meal. The decor has a very elegant appearance, and I particularly liked the rows of books scattered around. But it’s the food that will really bring us back. Everything we had was great, with the Scotch Egg appetizer being a particular standout while the Steak Frites were my favorite. There were some things that didn’t match my tastes, like the Mac & Cheese (it tasted too much like ham) but even so I could see how it would be good. All things considered it was a wonderful experience that is well worth the two bills we dropped.

We had a wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary here! Went on a Monday afternoon (5pm); it wasn't crowded when we arrived but more guests came in over time. Noise level was still fine though as we could hear each other talk without an issue. We were seated in a booth which was lovely. Loved the food; no complaints! Loved the service too. They gave us a couple complimentary chocolates for our anniversary, which was so sweet. Lastly, I must rave about the salmon! I'm not even big on fish/seafood but I really loved their salmon dish that came with roasted blueberries (something I'd never think to pair). I would definitely come back!

We hosted our firm holiday party at Swift & Sons and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Francesca made the planning process incredibly easy and even helped me coordinate a surprise magician (which was fascinating and a huge hit). Justin was exceptional—he learned our names, our drinks, and even noticed who alternated water or pop between cocktails. His attentiveness did not go unnoticed by anyone in the room. And the food was absolutely outstanding. Bringing out that many steaks at once, all cooked perfectly, feels nothing short of a miracle. Truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. We’ll absolutely be back.

We came here for our anniversary and they were top notch. They printed out menus with Happy Anniversary and made a card and signed it. I could give more star I would. Drinks were fabulous. We got the pierogi and the rock shrimp. The pierogi we as good as my Grandma's the rock shrimp were a sweet ansspicy explosion on the tongue. The steaks we perfectly chard on the outside and a perfect medium on the inside. When I say I have a slight obsession with creamed spinach that would be an understatement and theirs did not disappoint. Will be back and recommend this place.

Swift & Sons delivers a refined dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a warm welcome from the moment you walk in. The hostess greeted us with a friendly smile, setting the tone for a great evening. We started with a fresh Caesar salad and a vibrant tuna crudo—both beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly to the temperature requested, showcasing the kitchen’s precision and consistency. Cocktails were another highlight, well-crafted and balanced, complementing the meal without overpowering it. Service throughout the night was attentive and professional, matching the atmosphere you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The only area that fell short was the booth seating. Even though we were among the first guests as the restaurant opened, there were crumbs left on the seats. For a place as elevated as Swift & Sons, attention to these small details is important and should be addressed after each seating.

It was my first time going to Swift and Sons, the entrees and app were so delicious. The wagyu flight was seasoned to perfection and so was the salmon. To top it off our server Kasha was so kind provided such an amazing experience. I never leave reviews but I had an amazing time so I had to leave one.

Absolutely amazing! I reserved a table for my boyfriends birthday, and they did not disappoint. Our server was incredible, very attentive and gave us great recommendations. The bone in filet mignon was sooo delicious along with the crab cake. The desserts blew my mind. I would definitely recommend eating here. 10 out of 10 experience, no complaints.

Had an amazing experience on Friday. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant until we left we received above and beyond service. Margaret was our waitress and she was very attentive and on top of her game. We let her know we had alcohol and pork restrictions and she made sure everything we ordered did not have either. On top of that, we received EXCELLENT service from Rodrigo, who ensured we never had an empty glass of water and would clean our plates almost instantly. He even took the time to learn our names which we thought was so thoughtful. On top of all that the food was delicious, but even if it wasn’t, the service received would have brought me back. Margaret and Rodrigo really made this an enjoyable experience.

A truly exceptional dining experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere is elegant and vibrant with a classic Chicago steakhouse feel. The service was outstanding attentive without being intrusive and every detail was handled perfectly. We ordered steak and seafood both cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The cocktails and desserts were just as impressive. It was my wife’s birthday and the staff made the night unforgettable with their kindness and attention. A perfect place for a special evening in Chicago.

A really great place for a birthday dinner. Mention the special occasion, and they provided personalized menus and a really sweet birthday card signed by the staff. Outstanding service. The steaks are amazing, treat yourself to the Japanese wagyu strip, was absolutely delicious. Magician is also really entertaining!

Swift & Sons is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent drinks. We came here to celebrate our friend’s birthday and had a wonderful experience. Our server, Jordan, was incredibly kind, respectful, and attentive, which made the night even better. We tried both the Chicago Restaurant Week menu and items from the regular menu, and there were plenty of great options to choose from. The only dish we didn’t enjoy was the Chicken Schnitzel, which was a bit dry, but everything else was fantastic. Overall, we loved the ambiance, service, and food, and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommended!

DON’T SLEEP ON THE BREAD. When I tell you the bread was amazing, I’m not overselling. It was so yummy, the heirloom tomato salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. The steaks were really good, but they weren’t the high point of the evening for sure. There are better steaks in Chicago, but I’d go back for the bread alone.

The service here is 10/10. Everyone was kind, accommodating and everyone wished me a happy birthday that stopped by our table. Our drinks were consistently refilled. Never went below half a glass. Beautiful ambiance. Very upscale and comfortable private seating. The food was good but in our opinion, not worth $300. Wagyu Steak was a good cut of meat just not much flavor. The green beans were very odd to us. The cilantro paste with nuts just wasn’t for our palette. Mashed potatoes had great flavor but not the best creamed potatoes we’ve had however we still enjoyed them. The the filet topped with crab meat was realllly good. Tons of flavor!!!!

T

I do appreciate that they were accommodating when we arrived about 10 minutes late. My main reason for deducting stars, however, was the server’s attitude. Rather than making suggestions, he was quite assertive in telling us what to order, and when we declined, his facial expressions suggested annoyance. This happened multiple times, including during the appetizer and dessert portions of the meal.

B
Brian Zima

The ambiance was really nice. The waiter was very knowledgeable on the dishes provided. The appetizers for happy hour were amazing. I definitely recommend the shrimp, pierogis, and oysters. I do have to say that I was not impressed with the main dishes. The bone in filet with a side of bone marrow wasn't very good at all. I actually was a little queezy after the main dish. The Amish chicken was also very dry. Cocktails were also decent. The bartender made a really good Manhattan. I definitely would recommend going there for happy hour to take advantage of the specials during that time.

B
Brian Atinaja

For the price and prestige of this place, I was expecting really high quality food, and was let down. Halibut was over salted and over seared, leaving a dry, chewy crust on the sear. The cold and hot appetizers were satisfactory, but not impressive. The sides and desserts were probably the best bites I had, and were the high quality I was expecting. Plating was pretty lackluster. Service was excellent, and the table side magician blew my mind.

We were excited to try this Chicago mainstay for the first time last night (Monday). The valet was courteous and the staff promptly greeted and seated our party of 7. The dining area is nicely appointed with ample room between the tables. Drinks appeared quickly, waters a little more slowly. And the tiny overly salted bread rolls with overly salted butter were last up and not worth eating. High marks for the creamed corn side dish. Average marks for my 22 ounce slightly overcooked ribeye (not medium rare) and the twice baked potato. Failing grade for the watery anchovy and garlic steak sauce: $7 additional charge. And an A plus for the cheesecake desert with red raspberry sorbet. Other members of our party had the hanger steak/steak frites and said it was flavorful but tough/too chewy. All of this might have resulted in 31/2 stars…but what pushed the rating down was the endless noise of a magician/card trick performer at the next table entertaining - while shouting at - that large group of diners who paid for the privilege. We had to suffer it. Caution: these performers can appear without prior notice Tuesday- Saturday anywhere in the room and might ruin your conversation. Sunday and Monday are supposed to be entertainer- free but alas by special request they might show up.

Food that we liked, we loved. Did not care for Wellington. Server was rather rude and gave too many details about some things while not enough on others! Server and manager were very rude about not liking Wellington, despite still spending over $100 a person!! That really turned us off but we'll be back for food

W
William McMichael

Table of 5 spent 1300$, 500$ of which were drinks. Seafood cold platter was not substantial, scallops were great though. Appetizers were ok, bolognese was good, the rest was not memorable. Porterhouse was high quality and cooked slightly more raw then medium rare per our request. Service was inconsistent and not particularly attentive to detail. Was disappointed and shocked after having to ask for tongs for our steaks the tongs came out unclean and with food chunks in them. Good thing we caught it before serving ourselves!

Imagine a giant cafeteria filled with cliques from high school, each sitting at a banquette, chowing down on pricey industrial food. That’s Swift and Sons: it a huge catering hall trying to defy physics to pretend it’s a fine dining establishment. The bartenders are fantastic, and a reason to visit, but the food? How can it possibly be good if the kitchen is serving an army? It’s “KP chic” with dishes obviously pre-prepared, then warmed through for service. The dry aged steak had a nice crust, but had been sitting in a sous vide for so long its texture was like warm firm tofu, with zero beef flavor nor juice. The baked potato was tasty, but when is a baked potato not. The salad had a zesty dressing, but was limp from hanging out too long. The service was well intentioned but redlined, with our waiter having to be reminded three times to get a by the glass red —- it was eventually served by one of the many floor managers because the waiter was over capacity. The dessert was okay. I appreciate that in the dead of winter these massive Chicago restaurants are a respite, and so have to move massive amounts of product to hungry hordes of humans. But really, a bowling alley is just as big and is probably more fun and rewarding, with food less expensive and as tasty. If a bowling alley could get the bartenders from Swift and Sons, they’d have a hit on their hands.

I had high expectations for Swift & Sons given all the hype, but my experience fell short. The steak — which should be the star of the show — came out burnt and overcooked, which really took away from what could have been a great meal. Service was also disappointingly slow; it felt like we were waiting far too long between courses and drink refills. We sat on the patio, and the tables felt cheap and out of place for a restaurant that markets itself as upscale. For the price point, I expected a much better overall experience. There are definitely a lot better steakhouses in Chicago that deliver both in food quality and service

J
Jeffrey Page

This steakhouse was utterly lackluster, unmemorable, and mundane. The appetizers and salad were decent but nothing unique compared to other restaurants. I ordered the 50-day dry-aged ribeye with anchovy garlic butter, and it was tough, dry, chewy—honestly, one of the worst steaks I’ve had at a place of this caliber. The butter lacked flavor, too. Everyone’s steaks were overcooked. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and not worth the visit. The service didn’t impress either. Our waiter wasn’t as attentive or sharp as you’d expect from a restaurant like this. We saw our drinks prepared quickly, but they sat at the bar for over 12 minutes while the waiter passed by them multiple times—probably five or six. Not great. We were seated in the Wellington room, which had a dull, uninspiring atmosphere with zero energy or charm. I wouldn’t recommend this place and have no interest in returning.

R
Rami Sneineh

This place was terrible. Me and my wife came her last night for our first time, and definitely our last. The appetizers were good, but the steak was disgusting. I’m shocked that this is considered a steak house. The steak itself was medium, but there was absolutely no flavor. It was like eating a piece of rubber. They had 3 different sauces for the steak, which I understand now is because they know the steak has no flavor so they need sauce. Our total bill included tip was $360 for 2 people, no alcohol. Way too expensive for what we got. Also, the service was extremely slow. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours, mostly waiting. Never again

M
Marie Eliza Cordero-Brown

We did the $200-ticket NYE celebration and we could’ve just easily spent it in a pub. No DJ, not much people, and the bartenders were just frantic and seemed crazy busy for a bar area of 10 people. They had the countdown on the tv played from a news channel. They served tuna tartare and beef tartare in mini cones which looked like they’ve been sitting on the bar for hours as well as their lobster eclairs which tasted like a lobster roll in stale bread. They didn’t have the fancy macaron bites they had advertised and the cocktails were ok. The espresso martini was just vodka with espresso flavoring(or at least that’s how it tasted). They had a Photo Booth and that was it. My husband enjoyed his Negroni. I mean good for him. Overall it was a rip off. Oh yeah there was a balloon drop too which was probably the saddest thing. Did I mention the mini beef Wellington was room temp to cold and more like a beef pie.

Such a dissatisfying visit to Swift and Sons. The service was absolutely terrible. We were left without a waiter for over 20 min. He never came back to see how our food was or if we needed anything else. We had the pierogi, Bolognese, wedge salad, and rock shrimp. All of food tasted subpar and I couldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. The filet was good not great. Nothing had any flavor. The apple tarte was cold. I expect more from a steakhouse in Chicago.

B
Bashar Abuseini

Unfortunately, Swift & Sons did not live up to expectations. From start to finish, the experience was disappointing. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 8:45 p.m. reservation and were told our table would be ready on time. Instead, we were not seated until 9:05 p.m., while four parties with later reservations were seated before us. Service was another major letdown. Our server showed little enthusiasm or attentiveness—there was no welcome, no recommendations, no check-ins for refills, and the overall attitude felt rushed and indifferent. When we asked to see the dessert menu, the response felt reluctant and unprofessional. The food also fell short. I ordered the 16 oz New York Strip, which was surprisingly underseasoned and lacked flavor. Another guest at the table had a similar experience, which is disappointing for a steakhouse of this reputation. The high part of the night was the lobster bisque and dessert we ordered. I came in with high expectations, but none were met. This was a poor experience from the front of the house to the kitchen, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
