Have been here for both breakfast and dinner first time customer visiting in the area hoping to move locally. John owner is very kind and welcoming. Bob is extremely kind and constantly caring for his patrons. Tom and Jason were excellent bartenders. Very balanced drinks and nice establishment. Read some reviews saying the Caesar salad is too “fishy?” For whoever posted that please understand that a Caesar salad is traditionally anchovy forward in flavor profile. The salad is excellent and correct and has high quality cheese 10/10. If you don’t like a traditional Italian Caesar salad you can go to Applebees in Hammond IN.
This is definitely a great venue to have any type of function at the second floor is ideal as a bar has an event space add music and people you got a great time! Staff is super accommodating and very friendly.
Perfect! What a great atmosphere, service was to the T's and the filet was cooked to perfection. Top quality cut with no added flavoring needed, just a great steak! Every entree we watched come out had us planning our next meal we were going to order on our return visit. Highly recommend this establishment! Thanks Joe! Returned a few days later for supper and it just got better. The Pork chop was perfect!
Our service was exceptional tonight. I've had this place on my list of places to try for a long time and it did not disappoint. I'm so glad we finally had the chance to try it. I ordered the point chicken which was delicious. My husband ordered the short rib over gnocchi and I liked that just a smidge more so I think I would have enjoyed anything on the menu. It wasn't just our waitstaff that was great, it was every employee working that seemed to go above and beyond. I will definitely recommend and we will 100% be back.
Love the vibes! Great atmosphere, friendly service, very accommodating. Brought in family to celebrate Mother’s Day and everyone was satisfied with everything. I found this restaurant randomly searching Google maps for a place that worked for everyone to commute to and I am so happy with how great everything turned out. Our waiter was also the bartender and created drinks for everyone depending on their likes and dislikes and I’m positive he accommodated everyone’s palate. The food came out quickly and efficiently. I recommend this place for any celebration, events, dates, or even to come hang out on the rooftop for some drinks. It is street parking but Sundays are free!
Great atmosphere and even better service! Made reservations for a party of 17 and the server, Jasemia, did not disappoint! She really made sure our party had the drinks flowing and our orders were perfect! With a family like mine I’m beyond impressed not a single person has one complaint or dissatisfaction with this place. We were here to celebrate the 20 year angelversary of our Mother. It was a huge relief to have left her graveside to go to Tavern on the Point and receive the service we did. Most opted for the brunch special with mimosas or bloody Mary’s. You truly can’t beat the price. The food was delicious. I personally had the avocado toast wit which was perfect! And the Cobb salad was great as well. Everyone else really enjoyed their dishes as well. I would definitely recommend this place for large parties!
I left a review almost a year ago with 4 stars. There were some small things I didn’t like. Wanted to update and change it, but couldn’t find it. So- here we are again! This time 5 stars going to Tavern on the Point! Food is perfect as the last time! Service is even more than great! Jordy was our server and I want to prise that girl! She is really nice, friendly, dedicated to work and pleasant person! We didn’t make a reservation, but since it wasn’t busy we asked to be sited outside, and we were. Atmosphere was good too. And, not to forget to mention that we got 2 appetisers FREE! Don’t remember what was a deal today, but we got 2 free appetisers:-D. All in all- no mistake this time! Place is definitely great and everyone should give it a try! Rooftop is for sure the best addition to this place!
We had a blast! Wonderful restaurant! And our server, Christina, was phenomenal! CHRISTINA REALLY MADE OUR EVENING SPECIAL! Thank you Christina! Moved from Chicago to Arkansas 5 years ago and back in town dog sitting. Took our two best friends out for their birthdays and found TAVERN ON THE POINT. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the food but trust me the BRICK CHICKEN is very delicious. That's the entree Christina encouraged me to get and she was spot on. My buddy Chuck had the SURF AND TURF HAMBURGER and said he loved it. Wifey had the WALLEYE, she enjoyed it but caught a few bones here and there. Our other friend Mary had COBB SALAD WITH SALMON and thoroughly enjoyed it and had some to take home. Highly recommend this restaurant. Will be coming here again when back in town next time.
Typical American cuisine but above average quality and excellent price. Not cheap but good quality of ingredients and big portions. Average wine lists and Cocktails as well. We got excellent service that definitely bring us back. We also want to try rooftop next time as well. Valet parking at front but not hard to find street parking at all. Wait!!! We love gelato ice cream here too.
Fantastic food, fantastic environment. Indoor and outdoor seating both ground level and on the Rooftop. Definitely will be back. We started with bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers and fried calamari (my wife loves it!) For dinner I had the Hangover burger. My wife had the skirt steak. After that we had cannoli cake. I am so full!!
This place is great. The staff here is amazing. You have several options to spend your time. The place is spacious on the main level but there is an upstairs patio that's great for those nice days. Oh and the food is incredible as well. Highly suggest this place as there us always something going on from live music to games. Check their FB page for the latest.
Atmosphere is great (upper level) and service was quick, friendly and overall great. Food was very good (could be better) but overall very good date experience! Pay via the app (get 25$ off 75).
We had so much fun Saturday during the day at the Tavern. The food is super delicious, great cocktails, AMAZING service. The food came out super fast and Lola drink was bomb! There was House Music party and we had so much fun, great tunes and great vibes.
Tavern on the Point was a new restaurant we tried tonight. I thought it had a great atmosphere and good food but best of all the services was 5 star.
I have been coming here since it opened. The experience is outstanding each and every time. There are multiple levels with indoor and outdoor spaces. On my most recent visit both myself and my companion had the short rib & jam grilled cheese and it was outstanding! The filet sliders are also a favorite of mine. I have never had anything I didn’t like. The people who run this place are standup neighborhood people who put their heart and soul into everything they do. I can’t recommend this place enough. I am always looking for an excuse to go to Edison Park to go here. The last time was for a lunch meeting as a good halfway point between downtown and Northbrook. The best part is I know this place is going to be around. This is not a fly by night that will be under a new name/concept/management in a year or two. This place has long term staying potential. I think my next visit will be on a weekend night with the wife.
Last night we ate dinner here for the first time and we had a wonderful experience! The food is delicious, drinks are great, and the atmosphere is incredibly inviting. We really enjoyed our entrees, we got Lamb chops, Chicken Pesto and Grilled Mahi-Mahi, the food was very tasty, complimented by beyond amazing waitstaf!!! It was a wonderful night, huge thanks to everyone at the Tavern on the Point.
Bob , the manager spent 20 minutes to set up a game for me. He even went home to find out what the password to Paramount+ was. Omg , I wish all managers could be like this. Best place, best beer , coming back for sure. Must visit
Set aside some time to look for parking - in this area of Edison Park, it's difficult to find a spot, especially during dinner time. Because we know the area, we parked in the neighborhood behind the playground (and it's FREE), and walked across it to get to the restaurant. I'm glad I was able to make a reservation at Tavern on the Point - upon our arrival, we saw cute glammed-up girls with their dads having dinner prior to their Father/Daughter Dance. Despite the busy-ness of the restaurant, the service was on point. Our server (Brandy..?) was very friendly, polite, and professional, and made sure to check up on me and my husband during our dinner. The ambience had a warm vibe with dim mood lighting, yet energetic with flat-screened TVs around the restaurant and a moderate noise level from the parties present. For drinks, I ordered a Moscow Mule and for him, an Old Fashioned. For eats, we ordered the brussel sprouts salad, the half-rack baby back ribs, and the short rib over penne (customized in place of the gnocchi); and for dessert, we had the raspberry cheesecake. I eliminated one star for the food due to the short-rib dryness and the cheesecake having a bit of a freezer-burn taste. Otherwise, our experience at this restaurant was very pleasant.
Top pick! Worthy of the price! Apps (Brussels sprouts & meatballs) were great; lamb & ribeye were out of this world delicious!! Raspberry cheesecake was good, but not as fantastic as dinner!
Hugo, the bartender was Amazing! We sat at the bar and served us great drinks and the food was absolutely delicious! I will definitely go back next time I'm in town.
Awesome! The menu has a wide variety of choices that all sound delicious. The four our group selected did not disappoint. Every one was fantastic. The service was perfect and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Will definetly go back.
I have a very good experience at Tavern on the Point. The staff from mgmt to bartenders were all very good and experienced. They went out of their way to make our party amazing and even helped with an inKind issue. They responded promptly and the food was amazing especially vodka pasta and the bread roll. I would definitely go back there again and again.
We had a really awesome bartender Diego. He made great drinks and was very personable. Food was great. Looking at the menu there is so much more we'd like to try. We will definitely be back.
Tom was our server and he is amazing! Our drinks were never empty and service was quick. The food and atmosphere were both great.
Just hosted a group of friends and our kids in the upstairs bar/party room for the football game and it couldn’t have been a better time! This space is such a hidden gem in the neighborhood. The staff was wonderful and the food + drinks were great. We’ll definitely be having more parties here soon!
Stopped by after visiting a local park in the area with my boyfriend! This place is seriously a gem. Hugo, the bartender, was incredibly personable, attentive and kind. The Halloween / fall decor / lighting was also something that we enjoyed!! The bar, bathrooms, etc were extremely clean, great atmosphere, and incredibly kind staff! Hugo and John were beyond awesome. The food and drinks were outstanding. We loved the spinach and artichoke dip! Hugo makes the best old fashions! Will be visiting when we are back in the area again without a doubt!
We love this neighborhood gem! The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly. We’ve dined in for lunch, dinner, Happy Hour specials and also attended an event hosted on the rooftop patio, and we loved every visit. The event was fantastic, in large part because of the wonderful environment and the generous hospitality of the owners and the staff. Will return again and again! Thank you, Tavern on the Point!
Tom was amazing! The service is 10/10. We had a great time for brunch. Do the mimosa and meal deal. We were here for bookclub for 4 hours and they were so hospitable. Will def come back. Food was good too haha
This is my 4th time here and every time we've had consistent great service and food. The portions are generous and food quality and taste are excellent. Definitely recommend here, especially for brunch.
We had a fundraiser last night at Tavern. From the owner, to the event coordinator, bartenders, waiters, and manager: everyone was extremely hospitable and lovely. The food and service were great. We were cordoned off on the second floor, with access to both the inside and the patio; which made the ambiance for our event just right. Thank you Tavern for a seamless night of fun, great food and drinks!
I had my office holiday party last week. It was an amazing time. The owner, bartenders, and staff served us all so well. Shoutout to Hugo! I will definitely be back with my family to try out more of their menu.
Stopped in with a group during a business trip and I was impressed by the service along with friendly and welcoming atmosphere the staff created. Even though we were all from out of town, we immediately felt at home like we were going to our local hangouts. To top it all off the food was fantastic!
Hosted a fundraiser there and it went off without a hitch! Food was absolutely amazing and the staff phenomenal. It all started with the booking through Gina, it was seamless. She helped decide on food and packaging. The bar tenders were amazing and attentive. Management was accommodating and helpful. I would definitely host upstairs again, maybe next time in the spring so we can take advantage of the outdoor deck.
This place has a great menu. Chocolate martinis are outstanding. The atmosphere is clean friendly trendy and comfortable. We go there at least twice a week. Only negative is that parking is a block away. That really is not a true complaint. It's like that in any Urban restaurant community. I've also been to a few parties upstairs as they have a nice section for parties and gatherings.
A great overall dining experience. All the dishes were hot, as described on menu, and tasty. Our server, Christina, deserves a shout out as she was knowledgeable, attentive, and fun!
Tavern on the Point is a great neighborhood spot for a date night, celebration, brunch, or to simply share a meal with family! We decided to celebrate our anniversary there, it being close to home and knowing they have delicious food. It did not disappoint! My wife is a sucker for a good vodka sauce pasta and this one was so delightfully creamy and flavorful! She added the chicken, but if she were to order again, she’d probably try it with the blackened chicken to give it extra flavor as the regular chicken did seem a bit bland. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan which was a great portion size and the chicken was very well seasoned. The star of the night however, was the fried calamari! We were a bit weary at first of the sweet chili glaze it was tossed in since we are calamari purists, but it was such a delicious surprise! The flavors from the glaze along with the paired house made sriracha-aioli was such a treat for our tastebuds. We ended the night with a cookie skillet that was on the house in honor of our anniversary. Such a sweet and unexpected surprise! If you are looking for food and service that is ON POINT, then look no further than Tavern on the Point! 😉
Had a nice time visiting Chicago and sitting roof top and dining! Service was good once we got it! Calamari was undercooked and greasy! Returned and it was remade for us! Manage can to talk to us and was very apologetic!
Atmosphere and service were great. Food was good enough to come back in the future. Not a big fan of street parking in the suburb.
This place is so nice inside, it’s cozy but elegant. The dim lighting in here is also a nice touch along with the light fixtures. Truly a nice environment to enjoy some drinks in. They have a wide variety of beverages, liquors & wine. Tried a few different cocktails all were made wonderfully. Split a few appetizers with the group and they were all delicious. Everything was a hit here, from the service to the food and drinks.
Tavern on the Point in Chicago’s Edison Park neighborhood impresses with its vibrant rooftop vibe and elevated American comfort food, where standout dishes like the surf and turf burger deliver bold flavors and generous portions, perfectly complemented by a solid selection of craft cocktails and beers during happy hour. The modern industrial interior and outdoor seating create a lively atmosphere ideal for gatherings or casual nights out, with friendly staff ensuring smooth service even on busier evenings. While the noise level can get a bit overwhelming indoors and wait times for rooftop spots might require some patience during peak seasons, the overall quality and neighborhood charm make it a reliable four-star choice that stands out among local pubs.
Nice rooftop patio and large bar downstairs. Overall good food selection. They have specials on different nights which are decent. Fun place for drinks or dinner
Staff was very friendly and we were seated right away. It got a little loud during the Bears game though. The Smoked Salmon sandwich was really good except the lettuce was wilted and starting to brown, not something I want ti see on a $17 sandwich…. If you don’t like garlic the caper aioli is more of a garlic aioli with capers (I was a fan, personally). The vodka pasta was fantastic, definitely get the shrimp, they’re fresh, seasoned really well and cooked to perfection. My other minor gripe was they ran out of pint glasses. Yes it was a game day but it also wasn’t very busy, plenty of open tables.
An average meal with slow service. Started with The Mexican Mule which was quite good. Had the grilled steak panini which tasted fine. The meat was a little chewy. Sampled the lobster roll which was also fine but not worth the price. The kids had grilled cheese and Mac and cheese, the latter was clearly boxed Mac and cheese. Our server rarely came to check on us and we had to wait quite awhile just to pay.
Found this place based on Google reviews. I wasn't too pleased with the food. It really lacked taste for me. We had the spinach dip for an appetizer - that probably had the most flavour of the entire meal. My braised short rib pasta - I had high hopes for. The service was friendly and very accommodating. We stopped in on a Saturday night and it was fairly empty and easy to get seating.
Nice atmosphere. The seasoning of the food was nice, but the steak and beef on sandwiches were chewy. The service was OK, the server didn’t greet us for a while until another server noticed.
The service was excellent. Our waiter, Jason, couldn't have been any nicer. The atmosphere was great too. Unfortunately, I found the food to be mediocre. The turkey club was made with deli turkey instead of off the bone turkey which is infinitely better, and the bread was grilled & greasy. The Caesar salad was salty & swimming in dressing. The mac & cheese was very good & so was the hummus & brussel sprouts. I will probably go there again & try something else.
We had a party of 18. Made reservations weeks ahead of time. We have now been here for over 3 hours. They pieced our party together with small round tables. Took forever for our food. Took forever to pay. And on top of all that the food was under whelming. Forgot the meatballs on the spaghetti and meatball order. Soup tasted like dish water. The Asiago chicken had zero flavor. Only thing that was enjoyable were the poppers.
I love ordering from here because they make a great burger. However, they don’t read what I order. This isn’t the first time, but when I order, I always select “No Pickles” and make an addition comment saying “no pickles”, but they STILL put the pickle. I don’t know how to be more clear. Edit: Just checked and also no bacon. Thanks for that too.
Great Atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop patio. Food was above average. The bar added a bottle of whiskey to a large drink tab, which was never ordered. It was deducted after concerns were expressed. The employee appeared casual about the mistake, which makes it difficult not to question many of the other drinks on the tab. Will I go back? Only if there is an event, however I will be reviewing all charges and will advise anyone else I am with to do the same.
WORST PLACE EVER!!! Do not go here… right from the beginning we were told they were having a party so they told us to sit by the window so we won’t be rushed out ok we did .. but then they forgot my drink which my husband had to get up to remind them after 15 min passed by and yes they also forgot the kids food and never told us our server was gone for the day .. finally got food just to be asked shortly if we needed boxes well we just got our food .. they got our next drink wrong again but moved on like nothing and the kids table was asked if they needed boxes and if they were ready for check … and why do we keep coming up to the kids table to ask questions about the check? They acted like they didn’t know the table was with us… then they asked again if we were set and practically forced us to pay we still had full drinks and food on table .. so we payed.. we thought ok maybe we will have time then the owner comes goes to the kids table again and asks if they are done my husband got upset said you already told us 3 times and he said well we have a party and he said yes we know which is why we are sitting on this side . They basically rushed us out keep in mind we arrived at 4:00pm and left around 5:30 pm. This was very unfortunate because we had special visitors from Italy and we picked this place as an experience for drinks and appetizers and food for the kids which we still tipped despite the horrible experience.. I will never come back and would not recommend this place to anyone for a good time the food was not good at all and my drink also terrible.. go next door they will treat you better
