One of the best barbecue joints I’ve been to in a long time, the ribs and brisket were smoked and very tender, and just the right amount of sauce to enjoy every bite. Comfortable chairs for your bum while having your meal. The bathrooms are kept clean too.
Huge portion sizes and friendly service. Got the simpler platter to share with my wife and it was more than enough for both of us to eat our fill. would definitely recommend the potato salad over the coleslaw and the beans are delicious. Ribs aren't quite fall off the bone, but very good. Pulled pork was the best part and the chicken was delicious as well. Very nice outdoor patio where you get privacy and a nice surrounding to eat your food.
A warm welcome atmosphere providing succulent and well prepared dishes. Matched with an interesting beer selection, this is a spot which i cannot stress is a must see if you are in the mood for good
Placed an order over the phone for a party of 8 people. I wasn’t too familiar with their menu, the girl on the phone was really helpful and patient with me. I could hear the phones in the background ringing so I knew they were busy. She told me it would be ready in 20 minutes, when I arrived she went through the whole order and double checked to make sure everything was correct. She threw in some extra dipping sauces and was friendly and pleasant the whole time even though they were still busy. I brought the food to the office and my employees and I loved the ribs. I Highley recommend this place.
We spent July 4th in Chico and decided to have lunch at Smokin' Mo's which ended up being a good choice. I have lived and travelled to most of the BBQ hotspots in the US including: St. Louis; South Texas; Memphis; Kansas City; South Carolina; etc. so my bar is set pretty high. This reminded me more of a Tennessee style than anything else. I had the shredded beef sammy and my son and his wife had a rack of ribs. Both were tender and smoky with a dense, dark sauce. The Cole slaw could have been better but the baked beans were pretty good. We paid about $12 per person and were very full.
Tried and true, awesome BBQ! Micheal is awesome too! Root beer float, got my vote. Prices are great, show some love don't hate.
Ribs were great, pulled pork was juicy and the dinner deal plate was enough for my daughter and I. Staff was real nice, I will be back when I'm visiting during the year.
Excellent food!! My family and I were in town for a few hours and literally stumbled across this BBQ joint in downtown Chico. We asked for suggestions on what to try and ended up ordering a Rib plate, rib and brisket plate, and calamari appetizer. It was all delicious and well-made. Will definitely be returning again on our next trip to Chico.

Good service, pretty good food. Always hard to evaluate from just one visit. I had a brisket sandwich. The brisket itself was very good, and cut into chunks which worked well for a sandwich. They piled on the sauce, rather than giving you a choice. Not my favorite sauce. And the roll was pretty much a plain hot dog bun. They could have done better. The potato salad side dish was average. I will try a brisket plate next time, I think
The lady at the front counter was really friendly and helpful. She worked around our orders to help out with what my three children wanted. The brisket was great and was very tender. All the children basically downed their food.

We tried Smokin' Mo's on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line or wait. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered a BBQ Sampler Plate, Ultimate Pig Burger, and a Brisket Sandwich and we got a side of Shredded Pork Loaded Fries and the Killer Garlic Fries. My wife and daughter decided to cut their burger and sandwich and half and share with each other. They enjoyed their lunch but the Ultimate Pig Burger was the clear winner. There was a sizeable portion of the Brisket Sando left uneaten. My BBQ Sampler was mid at best. I forgot to ask for dark meat only and was tempted to go back up but decided I'd just eat what they gave me. I ended up with a breast/wing 😭. The chicken was flavorful but boy was it dry. The ribs were nice and smoky, pretty tender too. Unfortunately, they were dry. I ordered the ribs unsauced so I could dip the pieces in the the different sauces. The pulled pork was excellent though. As for the sides, the garlic fries were spot on but the loaded fries fell flat. The potato salad was great. The coleslaw was real good if you're into that stuff, fortunately I am. The beans were pretty decent but were left mostly untouched. The corn muffin was good enough I would bought a 12 pack to go. I tried all 3 of the mild sauces and I thought the best was Mo's Memphis. I might try it again, but the best thing we had was the burger and there are several great burgers in this neighborhood. But if I do come back I'm ordering all dark meat if I get chicken.
Smokin’ Moe’s BBQ in Chico is an absolute gem! Many awards and older photos of past restaurants litter the walls, very inviting atmosphere. The BBQ is simply outstanding—each bite of their tender, smoky meals were bursting with flavor. I was pleasantly surprised with the ribs! The BBQ Sampler was a good choice and their homemade, house sauces were the perfect complement. The staff was friendly, making the dining experience even better. Whether you're a BBQ enthusiast or just looking for a delicious meal, Smokin’ Moe’s is a must-visit. I’ll be back.
Boring but cheap. I’ve had this place 3 times, 2 times at Thursday market and once at their brick and mortar location. The brick and mortar location is nice and it’s a cool place to go while you are already out if you’re hungry and want cheap bbq. I think at the market all the sandwiches are $12 and a normal person can’t typically finish one sandwich. It’s just not very good, the seasoning, sauce and picks of meats are just boring and lack any kind of nuance, the tri tip is super tough and with so much fat
Very friendly and fast service. A patio in the back with lots of shade. The ribs were very good, the pulled pork was mushy in some bites, and too tough to chew in others, and the smoke flavor that was so delicious on the ribs did not come through at all on the pulled pork. The brisket had good texture, but very little smoke ring or flavor. The sides were standard fair. Price was OK, $9.95 for the lunch special.
I LOVE the ambiance. Great vintage decor and open feel. Easy order yourself with great help from friendly staff. I had the brisket plate with a bit of tri-tip(little extra cost). I really liked that the charred fat of the brisket was included and had that good smoky flavor, but it was bit too chopped than what I prefer. I liked sliced, but everyone has their own style of BBQ. Tri-tip was okay. Cole slaw and meats could use a bit more seasoning. I had to add salt. Also, I liked the sweet cornbread muffin thingy with that good tasting butter. Overall, good BBQ.

This place has long past it's prime. You walk in and could tell the shelves haven't been dusted since they last won an award... Early 2000's. The decor is all over the place and the bathrooms need to be updated, at least pretend like you still have pride in your place. Haven't even gotten to the food You can immediately tell not much is fresh, except for the fries. Ribs were discolored and smothered in sauce to hide it's oldness. The pulled pork was probably pulled two weeks ago, also smothered in sauce again. BTW, the sauce isn't even good. The corn bread was like eating sand, my child even gagged on it from dryness and had to gulp down a cup of water. At least the butter was good, but you could get better rolls from the roadhouse in town. The tri tip sandwich was the only thing that was slightly edible, but for some reason it came with a side of pico de gallo, please explain this? Almost forgot, the baked beans weren't good and looked like one of my patients stool samples. Didn't finish 3/4 of our food and will never come back, I don't think anybody should be going here. I've had BBQ all over this country and I've never been this disappointed in a BBQ establishment.
The front and the inside of Smokin' Mo's BBQ are very decorative and inviting. The eatery is perfectly located in downtown area, and there is free 36 minutes parking everywhere. But the food isn't what it's hyped up to be. My friend were not impressed with what we ordered. My tri-tip was dry and leathery to chew on, and my friend's bbq ribs special were sweet but lacked hickory flavor and texture. And they only offer pork, there are no beef ribs which I wanted to have.
We ordered a BBQ sampler plate. It was dad that my favorite part was the muffin with honey cinnamon butter. The service was ok the though was just alright and a bit overpriced for the quality and quantity. The garlic fries were oddly wet and had almost a citrus flavor. They stuck together like a clump of wet fries. This was the second time I had been there, I wasn't a fan 3 years ago and my most recent visit confirmed the same.

This is crazy! I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich online. When you order online, it has a spot to say what you don't want on your sandwich. Well, I said no tomato, no onion, and no pickle. The other options I did not click on, which were to click on no o rings, no avocado, no bacon, no cheese, and a couple of other things. Well, I wanted those, so I didn't click them. When I got back home from picking it up. It was just a plain bun with a plain chicken breat. Nothing else. I called and asked why. They said that the sandwich doesn't come with any of that. I said that's not what your online shows. All they would offer is for me to come back and get those ingredients, not a new sandwich, just the ingredients. I said sure. We'll I pick those up. I opened it up, and there was 1 onion ring on top of a bed , lettuce, and a slice of cheese. No supervisor or manager came out to talk to me. It was left up to a young lady. I didn't get too upset with her b3cause she didn't do it. I was upset, to say the least. Honestly, it's the worst I have experience in chico. This was on Valentines Day at 4:30pm.

This place disappointed me immensely today. I got 2 brisket sandwiches both with a side of baked beans. The meat had HUGE chunks of fat and it was smothered only on the top of the sandwich with a tangy tomato sauce. The beans were sour tasting and with 2 medium drinks it cost me $40. Absolutely not my kind of food or service. I feel bad giving a 1star review because I don't give reviews unless it is amazing or terrible and in this case the food was straight over priced trash. Is of rather had Taco Bell for half the price or cheaper and enjoyed my lunch more. Honestly, this place could do so much better.
