You could drive by this pub/restaurant thinking just another pub but that's a mistake - this is one of the best pub restaurants I've been to in the area. The food is excellent, the staff (Lisa) was super helpful/friendly, setting indoors or outdoors is excellent. Highly recommend it 🥂

Had the perfect Friday afternoon / evening at No15. Really great food, service and atmosphere. We would highly recommend if you’re looking for a child free restaurant.

The refit of the pub looks terrific - although I had never been there before it was done. Customer service is fantastic, with the staff all nice and friendly. The starter and main course were of a terrific quality. However the sticky toffee pudding we had was not good at all, which was discussed with the staff and the charge for the desserts was waived - which is why overall, the pub still gets 5 stars - because sometimes the customer service is more important. I'd go again, just choose a different dessert! 😁👍

The food and service in this pub deserve five stars. Sunday lunch is the best we have had. Fresh vegetables are served on the side so the plate isn't overflowing and all roasts come with a huge yorkshire pudding. If you opt for roast beef you get a choice of how you would like it done. In the summer the garden area is very pretty and very well cared for. Pretty flowers, a fish pond, a vegetable patch and coloured lights make it feel very welcoming. The inside of the pub is tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff are well trained and are able to explain any unusual dishes that are on the menu. We are looking forward to our next meal there very soon.

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and incredible food. Had a very pleasant evening and our waiter was very funny and engaging. 100% would recommend this charming place.

Nice feel to the place, excellent staff service. Met up with friends for Sunday roast... delicious, very filling. Treacle tart for desert, light pastry & very sweet ice cream will be needed. Caters for pescatarians. They have spotlessly kept garden area with fish pond so would be lovely In the summer months.

Food is so good with very nice presences. Lovely,warm atmosphere with nice decor. Service is superb ,very friendly and helpful.We loving coming back to this Restaurant

We went to the August tasting menu this week with friends and it was fantastic! The selection of dishes was well thought out and the wine pairings spot on. We love sitting in the garden room and our friends were super impressed. Well done Sandy and the team, see you all soon.

Didn't eat at restaurant tonight but will definitely eat next time. Lovely staff, made us feel very welcome, customers also were also friendly and welcoming.

A special birthday to celebrate. 8 in our party. Lovely cuisine, the sticky toffee apple bread and butter pudding was to die for. Such a beautiful setting I would imagine in the summer sitting outside in the garden would be lovely. The team were so accommodating nothing too much trouble. An excellent experience. Not cheap but well worth it for a special occasion.

We did the 8 course New Year's Eve tasting menu and it was excellent. So lovely to have a guy going around the restaurant singing at the perfect volume so it wasn't intrusive and then some great music to dance to at the end of the evening. The staff were amazing and we had a lovely table in the glass part and got to see some great fireworks. If I had to make a small criticism it would be that some of the small first few courses could have been a bit hotter but apart from that we had a fabulous night. Can't wait for next year

We went to this restaurant and I was so impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, the Amuse Bouche was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The staff were excellent and it was really good value for money

We had such a fantastic night. Everything we ordered was delicious. What a transformation from a run of the mill pub to a fine dining restaurant. We would highly recommend the experience 🤩🥂👏🏼

We went as a large group in the Xmas chaos and our whole experience was beyond the 5 stars we could give. Truly the best service ever, the food was very special, we'd been given a lovely room to dine in. Sandy was efficient and responsive through the booking process. Perfect!

The Red Lion is now No. 15 to move away from its "pub" roots but, fortunately, the only change is the name! The food, the service and the atmosphere remain the same! Delicious food, superbly served from an ever changing menu! Can't get enough of this place and it remains highly recommended.

Fantastic service and staff were very attentive. To start with we had the soft shell crab, asparagus with poached egg and oysters, for the main we had the Chateaubriand. Cooked to perfection. Highly recommended, we will be back.

Read about this as a good dining experience so went along for lunch. Lovely garden setting for our table and great staff who gave us a nice welcome. Food and drink is a little upmarket but worth the extra for the quality. Nice and relaxing with an adults only policy though dogs are allowed on leads which will suit our daughter when she visits. Will go back with some friends now I know it is good.

Excellent pub that always provides great food and service. The atmosphere is relaxed and yet the food is very high quality and a good variety on the menu to cater to the young and old. Thank you for being the best local!

The garden is a lovely surprise and so are the magnificent fish ponds.Great wine, great deserts and coffee. Overall the kitchen produces good food. The landlord is very nice. Great place to go with dogs after a walk on the common.

We went to number 15 last night to celebrate New Year’s eve and we cannot praise the service, food and atmosphere highly enough. We had the tasting menu. We started with the selection of delicious canapés . Each course that followed was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were well looked after. The entertainment was spot-on and well done to the young DJ who kept the dancing going till half past one in the morning! All in all, a great night!

We have eaten here on many occasions and have always had the best experience. We held a birthday celebration on Saturday for 22 guests and the food, service and help from Sandy was exceptional.

Went with friends last night for celebration, food lovely, menu not pages long and, as a change from other restaurants had more than 1 fish dish. all commented on their dish favourably, good selection of drinks, service good and felt very welcome. I have also been for lunch twice in past and same comments as above plus beautiful garden and Koi Carp. Is my go to place. Thank you.

Good food and service, quite a quiet atmosphere. Lovely Sunday roast and trout sashimi. Helpful with allergies.

Nice pub, good selection to drink. I didn’t try the food. The staff were lovely and attentive. The locals who were present were welcoming. It doesn’t accept cash and the furnishings could do with some investment. The leather sofa where I sat needs refilling. If they took cash and sorted the furnishings it would hit the 5 for a pub.

A newly refurbished pub with plenty of outdoor undercover rattan style seating complete with heaters for the chillier days. It also sported a big boxed-in fish tank which I thought added a "different" feel to the place. The restaurant looked clean although my friend and I didn't eat in but had a little snack outside. Dogs are welcome in the bar area and outside and we found the staff very welcoming. I rather liked the idea that the toilets were just inside the entrance as opposed to being situated somewhere in the heart of the pub itself. Will definitely return.

Lovely restaurant, great service. The food was lovely however the portions were very small. Very nouvelle cuisine. Like the little touches of canapés and petit fours. Good eminence and attentive staff.

Very nice place. Has really changed since last visit some years ago. Very welcoming comfortable seating in the lovely garden. Dogs on leads welcome children under 12 are not. This is great if you don't want kids running about in the garden. Will definitely be going back.

Stop here for lunch, had a set two course meal, good price, but could be a better selection, only 3 starters and 3 mains to choose from, and there was no lunch menu?? It was either set menu or a la carte, not great when you just want a snack or sandwich, food was ok , the steak in the salad took a bit of chewing, the one I had with the salmon was fine, but the salad was a bit on the boring side. Pub itself is very nice and the outside too , done a great job updating the place. Staff were very good too

Visited the Red Lion , now called No15 Bar and Restaurant last night, we had a table of 8 as we were catching up with some friends, it was busy but not full, the bar staff where very welcoming and the atmosphere in the bar was good although the decor was a little on the darkside, our table was book for 8 o'clock, the service was a little slow and it had gone 9 o'clock before we got a starter, the menu was heavy on the fish side I had tge smoked haddock croquette, which were not croquettes but three very small breaded balls of potatoes and fish ( not smoked haddock), with very little taste. It them took almost 50 minutes before the mains arrived the table was split in two with half going for steaks which looked and tasted good, the other half had baked cod which was over cooked and served cold. The management did give us a generous discount which we did appreciate however it was a very disappointing experience, I really hope the team get there act together as I am sure they can turn this around.

Had to ask (after very long wait) to get food order taken and got a slightly put out reaction. Were there an hour and a half before any food arrived. Unfortunately it was not worth the ridiculously long wait.

So disappointing. Really wanted to love it as a local restaurant but was so disappointing. Restaurant not busy for Friday lunch and yet we had to ask several times to order both drinks and our courses. What were you doing? Food was simple rubbish. No flavour, to the dishes. Not seasoned. King prawns starter overcooked and no flavour. Paella was worst I've ever had. Disconstructed paella which is bizarre. So seperated ingredients, no stock, completely flavourless. Politely commented to waiter in the hope they learn. Manager never mentioned anything about our comments. Just handed us the bill at end. Wouldn't have expected any money off just a bit of acknowledgment. We are all cooks in our family so recognise good cooking and to be clear we were v polite and tried to be tactful in comments We came to celebrate an occasion but sadly left bitter about the whole experience particularly given the price tag. Perhaps head chef had day off or was ill but whoever was cooking is not up to standard for a restaurant pitching itself in the price bracket. Nice garden Sadly won't be coming again despite it being local.

Slow grumpy service. Unseasoned food. Outdoors is a pretty setting in the sunshine. Please improve as we would love to come back to a local restaurant!

Arrived for our table that was pre booked. As we arrived with my 6 month old daughter I was told that we couldn’t eat or drink as I had my 6 month with us! Left after speaking to the not so “Lovely” owner and went to another pub close by who had no issues with us having a baby at all! DO NOT go here if you have a family

Food very underwhelming, poor quality ingredients, fish overcooked, tasteless risotto. Scallops overcooked, fillet steak was like scrag end. We let the young server know, Owner took our money and never questioned why food was half eaten. Sadly tried this place 3 times in 3 years and the quality is just as bad.Sad as weare local and would be regulars.

Very disappointed and we shall not be bringing our custom to No.15! We just popped into to check it out since we are local residents and thought it would be nice to sit in the outside area and have a quick few drinks. The garden was empty and we were refused service and asked to leave the premises…why you ask? No children allowed. Our well behaved 4 year old wasn’t even given a chance. If this is the kind of establishment they want to have in this village, then good luck to them.
