Tried the rolled tacos... they are not serve with guacamole but ordered a side of guacamole for $6 the amount of they served is plenty🤗🇲🇽🌊
The service is amazing! If you're looking for authentic lamb barbacoa this is the place. I recommend getting half order (for one person) with only maciza if it's your first time, and it comes with lots of tortillas and consomé. The lamb is just amazing, and as someone who grew up in Mexico I approve this place!
We have a visitor from out of town and wanted her to taste Aquí es Texcoco but could not find it on the order apps and we found the app which was easy to use and convenient. My only “complaint” is the consume is really expensive 💸 and used to be complementary. Our guest loved the food though
Best mexican food I ever had. Like poetry on my taste buds. Put mexican food on the east coast to shame. Inexpensive and delicious. Very nice server too. Blown away. Refried beans at alot of places is forgettable filler slop. This was rich in flavor. The lamb made me feel guilty eating it it tasted so good.
We came in 30 min before closing. We were welcomed with a big smile and warmth. The service in this place is impeccable. Fast, warm and friendly. We were told that the lamb barbacoa is the best and they were not wrong. It was phenomenal. I loved that there was so many homemade salsas. SPICY HOT; authentic Mexican for sure!!!! We also ordered the tamarind agua Fresca- homemade with love. You can tell. It is not too sweet. I totally recommend!! We also ordered the flan and let me tell you. My husband and I were blown away. All of the items ordered came all together and within 10 min of ordering!!! Impressive!!
The consome and half pound of meat for great tacos salsaa verde and chipotle tatemado sauce all the sides What a great breakfast Dad and I had. We were the first ones there at 9 am . It's was just missing papalo leaves to add to my tacos. Pero me meti una buena enchiladota riquisima pa q te cuento. Se lo recomiendo
This is a Traditional Mexican Lamb Barbeque restaurant, I saw it had a bunch of reviews on Google so I wanted to try it. I came here at 3 pm on a Friday afternoon and it was easy to find parking and seating. I ended up ordering the Lamb Barbecue Plate. For meat I chose a mixture of meat and rib. It included small lamb broth, tortillas, salsa, lime, cilantro and onion. I got a full order as well. Amazing flavor on the meat and the tortillas were nice and fresh. Overall solid place and price point!
Really nice lamb BBQ. We had the lean and the rib meat. Both were excellent but I would go for just lean next time. It had a good amount of flavor without the rubbery bits. The selection of salsas was nice as well. We got the guacamole and cactus the large size but it was quite a lot! We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.
Wow! Some of the best halal Mexican I’ve had in a while. The green sauce with chicken and lamb was to die for. Tried both green and red sauce enchiladas; green had more flavour and was more satisfying but both were delicious. So many menu items, you’ll find something you like. The salsas and pickled onions on the sides are very spicy so be careful. The service is friendly and great and prices are fair. Can’t wait to return!
I was recently here for dinner when looking for some halal Mexican food. This came up on a search and was highly recommended and it absolutely did not disappoint. We tried multiple items including the lamb barbacoa, tacos, and quesadillas and were happy with all of them. The meat was very tender and the food in general was very flavourful. Highly recommended!
Best Barbacoa in town! I have been coming to Texcoco for many years, and they never disappoint. Their ingredients are always fresh, and the food is Amazing. My goal is to try everything on the menu, which I am close to already (Including the Chapulines) aka Grasshopper tacos. My favorite choices of meat are the cabeza and costilla.
Wow. This place is amazing, got the lamb barbacoa plate and the quail. The barbacoa is to die for, and all the toppings just make it better. Great salsa as well. The tamarind agua fresca was refreshing. The quail is worth a try as it tastes really good, but isn’t a whole lotta food. Overall 10/10 would recommend.
Visited since my friends in town eat a halal food. They were very satisfied with the meat, they said it was tender and juicy. The salsa had a great spice level too, not for the faint of heart. I ordered the zucchini blossom and mushroom quesataco which were surprising so filling! Thanks Monica for great service.
Been wanting to come here for a while. I live in AZ so haven't had the chance when in SD. But let me tell you it was worth the wait. Traditional Mexican food with a newer twist. This is what Mexican food should be. The chapulín tacos we're incredible and the chicharrón prensado sopes are absolute fire. Will definitely go back often once I move back to SD.
Unbelievably delicious lamb barbacoa tacos. Tender, juicy, and flavorful. If you want to knock a couple years off your life, try the quesataco - imagine replacing a tortilla with a hardened cheese shell. I get at least one every time to feed the soul. The salsas are really delicious as well! The staff are friendly and helpful. I’ve tried a few other things on the menu and in my humble opinion, the lamb tacos are the only thing worth going for.

The place was not busy and we were immediately sat. They had the baseball game on which was nice. We had a full order of barbacoa which was really good, it came with a good sized side of consume and enough tortillas. I tried moronga for my first time, it's definitely something different 😅. My boyfriend tried other tacos but it didn't seem as good as the barbacoa.
Traditional Mexican Lamb Barbecue. The flavor is strong. I took the less risky path and chose rib meat (head and tripe were the other two options). The green sauce is incredibly spicy, I made the mistake of putting too much on at first. I could barely swallow my first bite, I’m an amateur! Overall, it was an interesting experience and the lamb was good.

As of 6/28/25\n\nThe prices on the website do not reflect the actual prices, at least in the San Diego location. They were about 35% more, and when asked why it doesn't match they don't care.

We order 2 small consomes 2 tacos de barbacoa 2 de chicharron y uno de panzita. Consome was super salty I have to squeeze 3 pieces of lime to balance the saltiness the barbacoa was dry not juice and the panzita was so greese we didn't eat it the only good thing was the chicharron the waitress only took at order and didn't ask once if we need something else very bad food and service
Got myself a tortilla soup, what a mistake!! The soup was just water and cheese not good at all. I also got me a chicken sope, it was ok. I will not come here again.

I came to this place hoping for good Experience and some good food. Upon my arrival the staff were just leaning on counter tops and didn’t even look like they wanted to tend to me. The restaurant was completely empty not one costumer in there. I saw a mother come in with her daughter must have been at least 6 years old begging to use the bathroom and they literally told this 6 year old baby girl she had to buy something. I felt so bad about that little girl crying saying needs to use the bathroom and couldn’t understand why these adults would not allow her to use the bathroom. Made me loose my appetite
Dear Francisco, I wanted to share my recent experience at your restaurant, as I’ve been a loyal customer for many years—ever since your first location opened in Chula Vista on Broadway Street, when you were still working in the kitchen. I visited on Wednesday with my mom, and unfortunately, neither the broth nor the meat had any flavor. I let the waitress know, and she kindly replaced the broth. Today, Sunday, I returned alone hoping for a better experience, but sadly, it was the same—the broth and the meat were both flavorless. I informed the waitress again and asked to return the food and pay for it. At that point, the chef, Hector, came out and was very rude. He told me not to come back. I explained that I’ve been a long-time customer, but he responded by saying he wasn’t afraid if I complained to you, Francisco. I was shocked by his attitude and chose to leave rather than argue further. I left feeling disappointed and disrespected. It’s unfortunate, but I’ve now decided not to return to the restaurant anymore.
The food was good, but the service was disappointing. I couldn't help but notice that Mexican families seemed to be served more promptly, while others, including myself, were left waiting. I asked for a to-go box and was completely overlooked, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. It took about 15 minutes to get the check and another 15 minutes for someone to take my payment, despite my card being clearly visible on the table. Staff walked by multiple times without acknowledging it. Although the food was good I would not recommend coming here.
Wow! I was very disappointed! I came here with high hopes. So we ordered a half pound of their barbacoa. It was lacking flavor. It just wasn't there. The meat was soft and tender but the flavor is a big part for me. We also got the brain tacos. The meat was just mush the consistency was gross! I did not find it appealing at all it was supposed to be fried sesos but the only thing that had some crisp to it was the tortilla it was handmade and delicious with a slight crisp to it but inside was gross! No texture for me there it was plain mush and made me think of eating canned cat food. We also ordered the flautas we got one of each potato, pollo (chicken), and barbacoa. They were big and crispy but again no flavor I even put salsa and some onions and pickled onions. But my favorite part was the shredded lettuce and thats it! To drink we had a Jamaica and a Tamarindo. Would I go back again? No! I paid $49 and would not return i really did want to like it but it was just not there.
