The food was amazing, homemade gravy was perfect, and everything seasoned to perfection. The staff was on their game. Friendly and fast. Will definitely be added to our visit again list 🤤😋
Busy place and lots of people. Took a number. However, did not have to wait long for seating or food. Very nice people. Everybody would speak to you. We had breakfast. It was great! I just wanted to take the Mrs. out for breakfast; her choice of area diners. She picked Halfmoon Diner. She remembered their breakfast sausage. I tried some. She was NOT wrong! Everything was great. I was stuffed. Very reasonable pricing too! Definitely going back!
One of the most consistent diners I've ever been too. Food is always plentiful, and delicious, staff is attentive & quick, and the owners are very congenial. My wife & I love that we can get a full meal, with soup & salad, for under $40.
Classic Greek diner. They'll prepare nearly any dish you might want from a diner, but I HIGHLY recommend the Gyros. I have never been disappointed.
Great diner and love going here . Food is affordable and great service
Not far at all off of 87. Great food, great service and would eat there again! Nearby, you can find plenty of stores, shopping, etc.
Great options, and service was perfect for dinner- quick and attentive. The food was good, could improve a little. Seafood platter is a generous portion, it has a slightly heavy oily taste, but good. I got a chicken gyro. Which was very good as well, a little salt helped it. Overall, great place, great service, and decent food. Their breakfast is excellent, so when I weigh the two experiences, I prefer breakfast, which is great, so they get a 5 because of that. For breakfast, I got breakfast sausage, 2 eggs scrambled, wheat toast, home fries and a side of corned beef hash, a great shareable.
Enjoyed a delicious meal with family. Wait staff are always pleasant and courteous. The atmosphere is friendly.
Always a great place to eat. Staff is amazing. Food is great
Great diner owned and run by an even better family. For breakfast.....the eggs Benedict is amazing as the hollandaise sauce is delicious! And for supper....try the hot turkey sandwich. The turkey is delicious and the homemade gravy is the best I've ever had.
We had burgers, and they were awesome. The fries are fantastic. A side note, the bathrooms were very clean and pleasant.
Great mother's Day lunch. The waitress had a great sense of humor, our food came out hot and fast even though they were swamped with all the people there to eat for mother's Day. They handed out carnations to all the mom's. Prices were good and portions were good!
The only thing better than the service was the food. Huge portions so plan on sharing and served hot and quick. The server knew exactly what was on the menu knew exactly how to get us what we wanted and was extremely personable. If you're on a diet beware the desserts are incredible. The Greek items on the menu the day we were there were incredibly authentic and tasty. Once again the portions are huge. Our server was just wonderful.
Joe D was our server on Saturday and he was great! Very personable and attentive. Nice to laugh with your server and not have a stuffy experience. We had been here before and knew the food was very good..which is why we went back.
It's a nice diner. Lots of options. Good size portions are fairly priced. (I think going out has gotten more expensive, but that's the new normal). The soft dri ks were $4 a piece with refills, which I think is ridiculous, but that is the new normal for sure. If it were not for that, we woukd have paid just under $20 a person. The food was prepared well. It's not gourmet, but that's not to be expected at a diner. Of your looking for good diner food, I recommend here.
I frequent the Halfmoon Diner weekly. I enjoy the food and the service is always great. Ask to be seated with Joe or Vicki if they are available, they are excellent servers. Breakfast sandwiches and their Ruben are my go-to. And if you get a burger, ask for the Chef patty, it's delicious.
Awesome food, fast and friendly service. We got a table within 5 minutes on a packed New Years Sunday. Good management and our waitress Jessica was nothing less than perfect. We will be back Update: food is still delicious. Staff is friendly and efficient. Their French onion soups is one of my favorites and you can never go wrong with their rueben. Also very fairly priced with today's current restaurant climate.
As far as diners go, this one is a classic. I honestly don't recall ever eating here for anything except breakfast, so that's where this review is coming from. Typical coffee, waffles, eggs, etc. My typical go to is a black cup of coffee, Belgian waffle and a side of hash. What I enjoy about this place is its simplicity. They don't reinvent the wheel. Nothing special, to be honest. Just good tried and true staples of the diner industry. I enjoy sitting at the bar, eating my breakfast and drinking my coffee. Simple, the way breakfast should be. Staff is always 10/10
Beautiful quintessential diner vibe! We had the Steak and seafood combos and they were great. You cant beat the price! Soup and salad included. First time visit and will be back.
Everything you would expect in a diner. Classic good food, friendly, efficient service and reasonable prices.
Excellent breakfast. Slow service due to it being very busy, but super fast food delivery after the order was taken. The staff were very friendly. I had an egg white omelette with spinach and onions which was prepared correct. The home fries are boiled potato and very good. We will be back again.
Great local place to enjoy a decent breakfast with an old friend while visiting the region.
Been coming here 14 years. Probably one of the best experiences tonight ever. The stuffed sole was amazing. The open faced turkey was mouth watering. Even the kids chicken parm with spaghetti was so good she ate the pasta in a flash and after some chicken she still had some to bring home. Service was so on point they predicted what we needed before we did. Love it.
Waitress was loud, tossed a straw on the table for orang juice
We had 7 people was a short wait for a table waitress was great food was delicious 😋
Just discovered this diner while driving around and wow what a great discovery. Lots of different types of seating including tables with mini jukeboxes!!!! Excellent attentive and quick service. Delicious sandwich customized to my preference
The breakfast was great tasting and the service was awesome.
Amazing experience! Vicky was our server, and she was absolutely lovely. Very attentive, very kind and welcoming, and just a sweet angel in general. The food was also fantastic, and very well priced. Overall a great after hangover meal. Will be coming back!
My first time at the Half Moon diner was honestly a great experience. No wait for a table, but we beat the dinner rush. The waiter, we will call him Joe, was, different. He had a serious demeanor. Maybe even a little intimidating! But he was one of the best waiters I personally have ever had. Drinks, BAM! Appetizer?! BAM! DINNER?! BAM! Refills?! This guy was on point! The food was excellent for a diner, and I don’t mean that as an insult. Most diner food is the same old stuff. Half Moon Diner’s food is a cut above the rest. Serving sizes were optimal, Salad was fresh, atmosphere was friendly (Joe was a hoot), and the service was nascar quick! I will rank this as one of my top diners in the area! A must! Love, peace, and chicken grease!
We went Thanksgiving eve. Food and service were wonderful. My 10yr old son loves the burgers, fries and ribs.
My turkey BLT and fries were excellent. Great service and the oatmeal raisin cookies are incredible. Thank you guys
Love this place for a good diner breakfast. Perfect over easy eggs, filling home fries, and the best breakfast sausage I think I've ever had, all accompanied by great coffee.
We were recommended the diner after a medical procedure by two of the nurses at the surgery center. Even though there were closer eateries they sounded like this place was the bomb. I have to say it was worth the drive! When I got there the parking lot was all.ost full but we found parking right away. I had to wait 10 minutes to get a booth but again well worth it. The place was kicking! Filled with diners! Families and friends and couples and everyone! It was definitely busy! It didn't take long before our waitress got to us . The menu was filled with delicious dishes...4 pages filled! From appetizers to salads galore. Burgers, sandwiches, soups ! There was do many things to choose from I felt like a kid in a candy store! They also have a well stocked liquor assortment and get this...$6 bloody Marys all day everyday! Six dollars folks! And they were delicious! Garnished with celery and olives and a coiled straw wrapper around the straw and two slices of limes! Yeah I'm gonna say it again...six dollars!!! Made me feel special reminiscent of awesome brunches you'd expect in a movie like breakfast at Tiffany's! I ordered a cheese burger deluxe platter which came with delectable fries and a well dressed burger made to order. My only complaint was my fries were supposed to come with two onion rings which they forgot but given all the other awesome stuff happening it was easily forgiven. So with two deluxe platters two bloody Marys and a nice sized Pepsi everything came out to $39. Wow! I couldn't believe it given that usually for two people in any given eatery you expect to spend over 50 bucks especially with anything alcohol! I was tickled pink! 5 stars from me...no 10...wait 20! It sucks that I'm 45 minutes from this place cause I'd be here everyday! Go...check it out. You won't be disappointed I promise! Enjoy! I know you will!
Excellent first impression! Well run and delicious food.
Great food and service. Classic diner feel and would definitely come again.
Was a quick stop in for dinner. I got the triple chicken salad with bacon on rye. It comes with fries, coleslaw and a pickle spear. . Top marks on the sandwich. Chicken salad with bacon was killer. Coleslaw was great (though dang tiny) and tons of perfectly cooked fries. Pickle was a weak kosher garlic dill. Crunchy skin, good flavor but kind of bland. . Waitress was a total peach. friendly and sassy in all the right ways! Lol We go there every couple weeks. It's a cozy friendly diner so we enjoy it tons.
Our server was great, friendly and attentive. We got eggs Benedict and French toast with peaches/whipped cream, it was fantastic!
Brought my mother after a doctor's appointment. They sat her comfortably with her walker at a nice table. Everyone was kind and they have a very efficient system so entrees are brought out quickly.we even bought baked goods to bring home.
Best diner I've been to in years. They had a line out the door and the service was still fast and friendly. Shout out to Maggie!
I come here every time I'm in town visiting family. Food is great and service is wonderful! Highly recommend!!!
Had a great brunch with my family of 8 today. Everything was terrific. Special shout out to our waitress, from Salem NY. Very professional, yet personable to our table, especially to my grandchildren. One day I would like to buy her dinner. She deserves the same attention she gives to her customers . Thank you and Merry Christmas.
The food was great and came out in reasonable time. Our waitress was extremely happy and friendly. Just what you'd want for a family outing with out of town family visiting. Very accommodating and they even sang happy birthday too!
Took my wife and mother in law here after a trip to a nursing home so the mother in law could visit a friend. Great menu and specials. My mother in law law got a prime rib she ate for days. Deb ordered lasagna but got moussaka. I had to point out I was supposed to get soup and salad. The server brought the moussaka back and reminded us it wasn't her error that the wrong item came out. Deb got her lasagna. All of us were very satisfied with the food. We will definitely come back. We left a good tip for the server because the moussaka wasn't her error......
Perfect diner experience! We had super fast and friendly service on a Saturday morning. Huge glass of fresh OJ and pineapple juice for $3.99. They offer $6 mimosas! Food was well portioned, and came out quickly. Love the local, hometown feel of this place. Super clean, and plenty of parking. They actually have a full service bar as well.
I love a good dinner. This is a Classic Greek dinner! They do lots of things well. The service was warm and prompt. I was surprised how good the pizza was for a dinner ( we did as an appetizer and everyone enjoyed) My gyro was very good. The meet was done right and the sauce was delicious. The side salad was solid. My brother enjoyed his burger and it was a fair size.

Great Easter breakfast! Very fast service and great meal for the price! Everyone was pleasant especially for working a holiday
Ruben sandwich and fries hit the spot. The waitress was pretty slow getting to the table and bringing food out. For some reason the AC was on max making it really cold on the side of the diner we ate at, with a noticeable change to a more reasonable trip on the other half of the establishment.
Brandy was a wonderful waitress. We waited way to long for our order to arrive. I was with a guest. One dish was a simple omelette and another dish was scrambled eggs. Probably took a half hour from the time we ordered. The diner gave no discount on the meal for the poor service from the kitchen. The home fries were very good, well cooked, just the way I like it.
Hashbrowns were amazing! Bacon was very good (I always ask for well done). The real issue was the French toast..... bread was good, but just didn't have much flavor (there was barely any cinnamon on it). All in all, I was happy, but could have been very happy!
I went for brunch on a weekday and it was very busy. I enjoyed the options for breakfast foods. My mom ordered French toast with peaches and cream and I ordered the cinnamon apple pancakes. We ended up taking home more than half of our meal because it was a large portion. Our waiter was excellent as were the cooks! We got our orders in quickly and despite the place being packed we got our food faster than any other place I've been to. The waiter was very attentive and kind. While the portion size is large and tasty I can get a similar size meal from other resturants at a lower price. I would eat there again but if I had to choose between going to Halfmoon Diner and another more inexpensive diner I would choose the later.
The service was excellent- fast and friendly, even though it was quite busy. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. The main reason for the 4/5 stars is because the food was "meh." My burger was okay, but didn't stand out in any way. My wife's Reuben was the same. As for my daughter's grilled chicken salad, the chicken was tough and rubbery. All said and done, I'd go back, but would probably order something different.
Excellent food, and service was great also. Although Lake George area food scene isn't great they do have great Diners.
I had breakfast with my one year old grandson. The waitress, I wish I knew her name, was absolutely wonderful with him. When he ran off on me when I was paying the bill, one of the gentleman there sat on the bench in the entryway with him so I could do what I needed to without worrying about him. The food was also very good and such a large portion that we took some home. I would definitely go back there every time I’m in the area.
We always go here after I get my infusion in clifton park, I always love everything I get from there except the last time I went. I made a mistake and ordered a Tuna Melt, which has always come on white toasted bread and it came on an English muffin that was super chewy. Unfortunately, I didn't finish it. And I guess it's my fault because I was told that's how tuna melts are made. Although I've never had one like that. So I guess it's my fault for misunderstanding. Otherwise it is a great place to grab a meal where everyone can find something on the menu that they love. The restaurant is clean orderly and the service is fast and friendly
The food was delicious, but the blonde waitress in the left back room was not great, she never checked on us, we had to flag her down for refills on coffee and ice tea every time.
The food was good, as well as the service. It was extremely busy. Diners serve a large variety of food so anyone can find something they would like on the menu.
Regular diner fare. I had a turkey triple decker sandwich with fries. It was good . The service was good. The Diner was clean and bright. We sat in a booth. A little noisy but was a busy lunch time. The waitress was attentive and upbeat.
Very nice place never been before and was very satisfied the prices were very reasonable
I had a western egg on a hard roll. The egg was pretty skimpy and I had home fries, which were very bad just barely warm and no taste at all. My husband had waffle and bacon and his was very good. I have to say their coffee was delicious. All in all it was pretty good except for the home fries.
Solid diner! Place was bustling at lunch time on a Monday indicating its popularity. Food was delicious and fast and diner is clean and spacious. I did wish service/wait staff was a tiny bit more attentive. The appetizer platter was SO good. Those wings are some of the best 👌
Fryed Fish w Onion Rings horrible, Fish did not taste fishy, Onion Rings had creepy weird texture. Eggplant was a mushy substance similar to bumpy applesauce, did not taste like Eggplant at all. Omlette & Pumpkin Soup were Perfect.
They put the 'sour' in the sauerkraut. Being a big fan of Turkey Reubens I was excited to try a new location's version, especially since they do not call them 'Rachels', which is a version that uses coleslaw instead of sauerkraut. A terrible idea. Put my order in over the phone, going with a turkey reuben (comes with fries), a grilled cheese sandwich, and a basket of onion rings. Coming to a total of a little under $28, a pretty good deal. While I was not inside very long, I will say I loved the classic diner atmosphere. Mini jukeboxes at the tables, a smattering of arcade machines at the entrance, colored neon lighting and mirrors inside, it was a nice little nostalgia trip. Back home opening everything up I was very excited as it smelled great and looked pretty amazing, I couldn't help but snack on a few onion rings and take a bit of my grilled cheese almost immediately. The rings were the panko breaded type, my favorite, as they hold up the best during travel and have the best flavor profile of any onion ring. Their accompanying Russian dressing dip was a nice touch too. The grilled cheese was a bit on the soft side, likely due to being wrapped up so tightly, but the flavor was still there and I polished off both halves in record time. So far so good. Sadly, the turkey reuben, my most anticipated part of the meal, was... well, let me explain. On top of also being soft like the grilled cheese was, due to the packaging being to well insulated, their flavor was nothing short of sour. The kraut to meat to cheese ration was skewed far in favor of the sauerkraut, which itself was the most sour sauerkraut I have ever tasted. It was over powering, and I could hardly stand the taste. I couldn't even detect the turkey or Swiss cheese it was so strong, and because there was so much it had the added effect of making the texture of the sandwich very fibrous. Not a pleasant experience. All said, the majority of the meal was good, the price was good, the diner was cool looking, and heck, even the fries that came with the reuben were yummy. Just, tone down the amount of sauerkraut, and we might actually have something there. So technically I'd give this location a 3.5 out of 5, but google doesn't do half stars, so I'll round up to a 4 for the nostalgia.
Great Greek/American diner. Good portions at a fair price. Even the liver and onions was good.

Food was not good at all. Had a turkey club sandwich and spouse had a chicken sandwich. Just not very good quality of food overall and not very clean inside.

Typical diner menu. We (5) all enjoyed our lunch (French onion soup, fish, BLT sandwiches). service was very good. We'll stop here again if we're ever in the area.
I've been here before and it was better with better service. This visit slow service and they were not overly busy. Got my meal wrong and it was not very good.
Food: the French Toast were great. The home fries were way to crispy when chewing, shaped as slices, possibly over cooked, they were not the usual softer chunky style. I won't order them again if still offered as slices. Service: our waitress was great, and dressed professionally. Atmosphere: the air conditioning worked really well, yet made it chilly, which in turned quickly cooled off the hot meal. ***Of note: just ordering 2 eggs will cost you over $6.50.
It has always been a very nice place. Server was okay My food was less than stellar I wouldn't even put a picture of it on there. The quality has gone down tremendously and so has some friendliness haven't been there in a long time won't go back again for a long time if ever sorry. Was always very good My food looked so unappetizing and it was French toast that I didn't even take a picture That's how bad it was and it tasted just awful not terrible but I couldn't eat it
Service was slow but kind, food was just ok. I guess I remembered more sparkle.
Probably the worst French toast I’ve ever had. Eggs and sausage were perfect though. Everyone complaining about going home. Another depressing upstate New York experience.
My boyfriend and I went to Halfmoon diner for dinner last night. He got French toast and I got pancakes. They were the driest thinnest pancakes that I have ever had. I got whipped cream and Strawberries on it as well and it was still extremely dry. There was really not much of a flavor and it was still $12. I’ve gone there before a few years ago and thought it was decent but I was less than impressed this time. Can’t say I’ll be going back anytime soon
Average for a local diner. I found the interior, particularly sitting at the counter to be somewhat depressing! The server was attentive and prompt. My veggie wrap with coleslaw was well prepared but again unremarkable. Their desserts are just printed on a small placard at the counter. No attempt to upsell the dessert or to portray them as appealing. Just nothing special and not even a cookie on the way out like the Latham ‘76. This is a stop if it’s convenient, not a destination.
Ordered a burger medium rare and got well done. Plate had been sitting under heat lamp because the lettuce was severely burned and shriveled. Asked for a side of brown gravy and it arrived at least 5 min after the burger and fries had been served. The gyro bun was hard and took a while to find the meat.
Not what it used to be. Food quality has gone down. I had the Broiled Seafood Platter. Scallops were over cooked and rubbery. \nOthers in my party also disappointed.

Yes used to be a really nice diner. But it's way too busy and the older man sitting us was very rude. Hey reprimanded me for sitting out in the car instead of waiting in a giant crowd of people. Said I should have stayed with my party. On a good note this waitress was nice and the food was good.
It was a rainy day today and when I went into the restaurant I almost slipped on the wet floor at the entrance. I told the owner and he asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I told him - a mop, a wet floor sign or rug would be helpful. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. He was rude and apparently didn't care about the safety of his customers. Left a very bad impression on me. Food was average.
Food was not good, my daughter didn't like the taste of her food. On the bottom of the menu we ordered from, it says complementary glass of rosé wine with order and we didn't get that. Prices are high for what you get. Definitely won't be going back.
Ordered for pick up. Got there at estimated time. Food was 50 minutes late getting out. The food was cold. The choch chip waffle was made sloppily. Normally this place is great. Hope it will be better if we order from there again.
I’ve been going to Halfmoon Diner for the past year, and the food has always been great—I've never had a problem. However, I was extremely disappointed by my experience during my visit today. As my girlfriend and I were paying for our lovely meal at around 1:58 pm, I overheard two servers making racist remarks about the **federal holiday Juneteenth**, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. A tall, young, blonde white woman was following an older white woman, and they were exchanging inappropriate and offensive comments—saying that Juneteenth shouldn’t exist or that it should be “their” holiday instead. Their behavior was highly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. I’m very disappointed, especially considering the otherwise positive experiences I’ve had at this diner.
My list of diners I’ll never visit again has grown! My friend and I both ordered Rueben’s. First it took forever, second they were appetizer sized! And to top it off the waitress was rude as heck. Asked for utensils and extra napkins, her reply… “that’s not my job, I’ll tell the busboy!”
This diner years ago was great haven’t been there in years till yesterday had hot turkey sandwich witch was not hot gravy cold frozen vegetables gross brown trim still on turkey .when you go to a Greek diner the desserts are with many choices with a big display you can see you get a little plastic standup menu are you kidding me very minimal choices never again
They dont listen to directions, doesn't handle pressure well they get overwhelmed easily and need to get another job if they dont like what they do that much.. food was cold and needed alot of ketchup to get down.. not recommended
Stopped there today for lunch with a couple of friends. We ordered two small greek salads two cups of soup and a toasted muffin. The small greek salad was a pitiful excuse and a greek salad!! It was lettuce and tomatoes and cucumbers on a flat plate. The soup was barely warm and the service was terrible!! The waiter spilled coffee on the table and just walked away. He didn’t clean it, or apologize!! This place has gone down hill. Too bad!! Use to be a great place to eat.

absolutely gross my hot turkey was cold and there fried shrimp parmigiana was absolutely gross sauce was watery and noodles where cold and as for there chicken wings over cooked and the chicken is so rubbery taste . definitely would never go back here again .
We had this waitress, older with dark hair. Not only was she rude with her responses, but we were able to hear her talk about us to a coworker. As a place that has very good food that I’ve gone to a few times, I wouldn’t prefer this waitress.
Ordered a burger, asked how we wanted it. Said medium. Got well and seemed like pre-made patty. Also ordered buffalo chicken salad, all that was in it was chicken tenders soaked in hot sauce, Romaine lettuce, and cheddar cheese with Bleu cheese dressing. Quality of food could have been much better, service by waitress was attentive and amazing.
My wife and I enjoy eating here when we visit our grand baby. The food is good and the waitress is very nice . The lady folding towels at the register was very rude ! I took some pics to show my friends down south what a dinner is because there is none . And the lady says are you taking a picture of me , I said no and said was showing some friends pictures, then she mumbled to other girl it’s getting weirder and weirder around here . She wouldn’t work for me if she talked that way !!!
Bad experience. The only part of the meal that was good and hot was the french onion soup. Then when I finished my soup we had to wait another 30 minutes for our food. When it arrived it was nearly cold. The cheeseburger didn't have cheese on it and the roll seemed stale. The only thing warm was the gravy for the fries. My liver and onions was lack luster. Barely warm mostly onions that weren't cooked well. The liver tasted ok. Very disappointed.
This place is terrible with service. Waited 15 minutes before we even got to order our drinks. When we finally got our drinks, when there was half of it left our server (server number 6321) just walked up and grabbed the cups off the table before we can finish them. Then we had to wait another 10-15 minutes before seeing our refills. I ordered a Rodeo Burger with bacon, BBQ sauce, and onion rings on it. Asked for it medium-rare. When I got the burger there were no onion rings and then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes for them. The burger was also well done and extremely dry. To add to everything there was a guy waiter that was helping a large party on the other side of the room and when he got closer to us I heard him say “2 tables for a party is insane!”. Horrible service. WILL NEVER BE COMING AGAIN!!!!
