This place deserves five stars because of atmosphere alone. If you're an airplane nerd this is the place to hang out. I mean where else can you watch one of these land while imbibing your favorite adult beverage. Lower your expectations for food and service. Food is ok, avoid the shrimp and grits. Service is a bit slow but that just gives you more time to enjoy the view. Edit November 2025. Alas both service and product have declined. Update your website. Traveling out of the way based on your out of date website's menu was disappointing but having a surly bartender who couldn't get our order correct made it much worse.
Gate 12 is a hidden gem by Easterwood airport with good food, great staff, and killer airport views. Watching the planes was entertaining for the whole family. I had the brunch chicken fried steak it was good the brunch potatoes were a little to onion forward for my liking, but a good meal. My wife had the chicken and pancakes sweet and good. Definitely will come again with it being so close to TAMU campus!
Who knew the airport had so much activity? Lots of planes (and a helicopter) landed or took off while we enjoyed a delicious lunch. The stuffed jalapenos were a great appetizer and my mahi mahi tacos (a special of the day) were fantastic. Our server (Macy) was also friendly, helpful, and attentive.
First time visiting, and everything was awesome! Casey took great care of us. I got the Mahi Mahi tacos, which were delicious. We were seated in a wonderful area where we had a view of the tarmac and runway, and as we left, the hostess was very kind to take a picture of us outside after our fabulous dining experience.
Went here to hang out at the bar for apps and drinks on a Monday evening. Pretty packed for dinner but the bar empty was very open. Highly impressed with the service, food quality, and fun location. Loved the shrimp quesadillas and peach bread pudding. Several beers on draft at a reasonable price. We will be back here often!
My husband and I decided to have lunch at Gate 12 Bar & Grill. We arrived around 11:45 on a Saturday morning. There weren't any big events going on in Aggieland so our timing was perfect. Gate 12 is located in the old Easterwood Terminal. Cody Whitten and his crew did a great job converting the old terminal into a very nice space. The only minor problem is that the noise in the dining room that looks out onto the runways reverberates on the hard surfaces and can be very loud and annoying when filled with diners. If you have someone in your party who has hearing difficulties, I suggest you choose another dining room. We enjoyed watching all the military planes fly in for lunch. Many private plants flew in as well as a group of Navy and Air Force planes. As each plane unloaded they headed right over for lunch. We were served by Anthony who was amazing. My husband had salmon and I had crab stuffed shrimp. We both had mashed potatoes, broccolin, carrots and rice with black beans and corn. The rolls were freshly made. The portions were perfect and everything was delicious. Anthony suggested we have a dessert. Thank you, Anthony! We had the chocolate-peanutbutter offering with their Columbian coffee. We savored each and every bite. They have a well stocked bar. They have historical displays including the actual prop from the Enola Gay. Be sure to check out the inner dinning room to see a neat painting keeping with the aeronautical theme. Reservations are required/recommended for Friday/Saturday night or when there are big events in Bryan/College Station. This may be our new favorite spot for a really nice meal in a fun environment. We throughly enjoyed our food, the service and felt it was priced appropriately. Highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing experience. We came here for a team dinner following a work event, and we were very well taken care of. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly given how full the place was, and everything brought out was made to perfection. I haven’t found food quality like this in quite a while.
We had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent. We started with the chorizo stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapeños which was absolutely delicious. I had the cheeseburger with a fruit bowl. The honey glaze bbq sauce was a great addition to the burger. To top it off, you get to watch planes taxi by and then take off. Pretty cool…
Very unique restaurant spot. Love being able to watch the planes come and go. Service was good and the food was great. Got the chicken fried steak which had amazing flavor. What I loved most was the side of bourbon glazed carrots. It was perfectly al dente and the hint of butter made it extremely addicting.
Great service from a very friendly staff (Helen & Austin, lunch. Jackson, dinnerI ate here on two occasions while working a broke corporate jet. Lunch was the Mahi Tacos, great flavor and huge portions. Dinner the next day was the Stroganoff, another great dish. If I’m ever down that way again, I’ll definitely stop by.
The experience here was spectacular! Our amazing hostess, Taylor, was super energetic and thoughtful. She made our first visit to Gate 12 one to remember. Being from Canada, we had no idea what to expect. The food was awesome. The Chicken Fried Steak was great and I will be having this again. The Carrot Cake should be always recommended to everyone! Taylor's drink suggestions also hit the spot. I can't wait to come back to Texas in the spring and eat here again!
The food was phenomenal it was on the pricer side however I think it was well worth it. I got the chicken basal pesto pasta 10/10 would recommend. We came in during peak lunch hour and the service was still quick and there wasn’t much of wait. Definitely will be back to try other menu items.
Sunday Brunch: October 2023 This place never disappoints; the food is wonderful; and our waiter Chad took excellent care of us. If you ever come for a visit to Aggieland this is a must stop. There is something about sitting next to the airport watching planes and helicopters land on a cool morning enjoying great company.
Had heard about Gate 12 from many friends and the unique experience it provides as a restaurant near the runway. Arrived around 1pm on a Saturday so it was relatively cleared out and we sat without wait or reservation. Servers were very helpful as one brought water, another bread+dip, and our main server took our meal orders. Was one of the most delightful Alfredo pastas I’ve had in some time. Finished it off with a key lime pie and left extremely satisfied.
We came to Gate 12 during a work trip, and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! From now on, this will be our go-to restaurant anytime we’re in College Station. The atmosphere was unique and inviting—we were seated right by the windows and had the best view of planes taxiing, taking off, and landing. Our waiter, Alex, was fantastic! We had such a great conversation with him, and his service made our experience even better. The food was delicious—perfectly cooked fettuccine and crispy chicken fried steak, both flavorful, and we finished with crème brûlée for dessert.
Gate 12 never disappoints! I first learned about Gate 12 through my student organization, and I have been a fan ever since. I will always try to take friends, family, and those who haven’t tried here. They always leave impressed. My favorite meal is the chicken fried chicken, and it’s always amazing. The views from the airport are always an entertaining sight. I totally recommend eating here if you are looking for a local spot to eat. The only suggestion I would make is to add bike parking. The new supper street design allows me to bike to the restaurant, and I had to chain my bike to a nearby pole. I still had a great experience, but would like to see some potential accommodations for bikes.
The atmosphere and food were great. We had the Ruben sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries and the chicken fried steak with green beans and mash potatoes. They were hot and great. It is probably the best Ruben I have had with superiority tender meat. I knocked the service to 4 stars. It was good and the staff were nice and attentive, but it seemed more forced as a upscale place than a laid back nice place. I'll go back, so don't knock for that point. If you like watching planes, they do have seating right of the tarmac, and it is a great place for small and large parties. We could get in without a reservation, but I recommend one if you are unsure on how busy they will be.
Finally got around to taking the family here for dinner and we were not disappointed. First off, for those of us old enough to remember, it’s in the old terminal at Easterwood. It has a very unique old school airport vibe, decorated in tons of aircraft and airport pictures and memorabilia with a touch of Texas A&M. Our server (forgot his name, I am so sorry) was amazing. He was always available when we needed him, our drinks never went empty and he made excellent recommendations. I had the Chicken fried chicken and it was on point, My wife had the beef stroganoff and my son had the shrimp and grits, all were delicious and great portions. We loved watching the airplanes take off and land at night. We Weill definitely return.
Our first experience with this fine dining experience. It doesn't really have a fine dining feel since you're looking out the window at construction vehicles while also watching planes come and go. Although the service, table scape and decor makes it feel more like fine dining. We are not a fine dining couple. We are a meat and potatoes couple so we thought we wouldn't enjoy it. The prices were definitely higher than our typical cuisine. However, the food was amazing and definitely warranted the price. My wife had the chicken fried steak and it was just right. The steak was a proper size without being huge and the green beans were amazing. I got the chicken/shrimp combo scampi. There was so much food so I didn't feel cheated with the price. The flavors for the pasta were amazing. Side note, the mushrooms in the scampi were perfect. I've read the 1 star reviews and I can't imagine their experience from the same place.
Love this place! Good quality food, nice atmosphere and casual yet unique!
5 star food & service here in CS! We have been here a couple times now and have been blown away by the fresh cuisine & impeccable service. Chad is a fantastic server! We have had their steaks, reuben, chicken, appetizers, desserts and drinks - none have dissapointed. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. For a special treat, request to sit by the windows to watch as the planes land. Thank you guys!
Our server tim was very nice and engaged in conversations.
Excellent atmosphere, drinks before dinner were awesome and original. Food was out of bounds. All while watching jets planes and military aircraft landing, Talib off and doing touch and goes right outside the viewing windows! J Cody knows how to run a restaurant!
The kids absolutely loved watching the planes come and go. The food seemed like an attempt to be fancy for fancy sake. We plan to go back for sure, but next time, we will look for simpler items of the menu. The shrimp and grits were good, but the turkey club was a miss. The meat was sliced so thick that the kids had to eat it with a fork and knife rather than eating a sandwich. The food overall was okay, but the presentation and prices give the impression it will be much better/more than it actually is.
Great place for lunch or dinner right on the landing strip of the airport. Great pricing for the quality and service.
We went as a group of friends. Service was spectacular with bread and oil being brought out as soon as we were sat and refilled as we ate. The staff was happy to change the TV to college football and the food was amazing. We got a variety of options from Pasta to Salmon to salad and everyone enjoyed the food. After we ate we went outside to watch the planes take off and land. What an enjoyable experience!!
First time and it's terrific. Highly recommended. Sat at the bar and our server, Cameron, was delightful! Food was delicious. Plus military friendly and gave my Veteran husband a discount on our bill. The outside views of the airport is number 1 reason to go!
Food is amazing, drinks are delicious!! The service is always great. We sat outdoors last time we went so the whole family could see the aircrafts take off and it was a great experience. My kids were able to be free for a little bit while the rest of us were eating and I think we will do the same when we are back. Can't wait to be back!
Unique atmosphere, recommend booking a table for sunset. Food was nice, had shimp and grits and stuffed shrimp. Accommodate a group of 6 but worth booking ahead.
Customer Sevice is top notch! Wish they had a bigger lunch selection, but overall enjoyed my stay and will be back!
OMG! This was the first time visiting Gate 12 so I didn't know what to expect. Boy was i impressed. The view is great since you can sit right next to the airport runway. The food was fantastic and the service was great. A great place for dates or anytime really. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Bryan.
I held back one star on the atmosphere despite the fact that we really enjoyed the view of the aircraft and their activities. As it was our first time to Gate 12, we made conservative choices on the menu. I had the Shrimp Scampi and she had the Stroganoff. Both dishes were excellent and the service reminded me of Commander's Palace in New Orleans. (For those who have not had the pleasure, that is high praise.)
Really good food. Definitely more than just your $100 hamburger spot. Great views of the runways and ramp to watch aircraft come and go as you eat. The design and decor of the whole place is really well done. From the giant propeller and airplanes hanging from the ceiling to the taxiway painting on the floor it’s aviation from top to bottom in there. Service has always been great and I’ve been a few times over the years and that’s been consistent. Haven’t had something I didn’t like yet and they’re accommodating of requests as well. Maybe one day I won’t fly in and can try the bar haha
Recommend "Gate 12 Bar and Grill" located at the far West End of George Bush Drive. The service was truly amazing, and the food was delicious. With lots of wine selections displayed on the wall. Place may seem expensive but it is truly reasonable $15-30 a person depending on what you pick from the menu. Also, you can see the airplanes take off and land from the restaurant while dining. Gate 12 Bar and Grill is truly unique!!! A must go while in College Station, TX! A++ experience
Robert Smith. Stopped by Gate 12 for lunch today before a flight. You just can’t beat the Gate 12 burger no bun!! And if you don’t order a side of Cody Corn you just haven’t lived. Good luck getting that recipe!! Great service, great atmosphere, great food and great prices make Gate 12 a great experience. Great place to watch all sorts of planes come and go. And not too shabby for date night!! So if you get a chance don’t miss out on one of College Station’s hidden gems.
Gate 12 is one of the best dining spots in Bryan–College Station. Great food, attentive service, and a really nice atmosphere — perfect for dinner or a special occasion. The steaks and seafood are always on point, and their cocktails are excellent. The bar can get busy, but the drinks are worth it. Consistently a great experience every time I go.
Amazing staff and the food was delicious! I had the chicken fried steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Others had brunch menu items that were also yummy! We had a large party of 12 had made reservations. We were seated right away and the staff was prepared for our group. Excellent experience. We will be back!
The food is amazing. Sitting right on the edge of the airport makes for an awesome atmosphere. You can sit and watch the planes and trainers from the flight school come and go. The staff are always extremely friendly. They do seem a bit understaffed at times, but the friendly mood of the staff more than makes up for it. always a regular stop for us when we are in town.
The food was excellent! It was an interesting (in a good way) menu and our experience was excellent. We flew in, so it was very convenient. Our waitress Kate C mentioned it was her first brunch, which was surprising. She did a great job- enthusiastic and attentive. We will be back!
My daughter wanted to celebrate her 21st bday at Gate 12. Our server, Bailey was wonderful! And the bartender even made our daughter a custom shot! The food has always been good and this time was no exception. Thank you for a great birthday dinner!
We had a wonderful time. The food was AMAZING! Enjoyed watching the planes fly in and out. Service was top notch! Everyone there was so respectful and friendly! Will definitely be back!
Went here with some friends for dinner night before the A&M/SC game (10/27/23) and saw the Leap Frogs go out and do a practice jump to the stadium. We got here early enough before the crowds waited for their tables. Got a whiskey as we waited and enjoyed the open bar space. The bartender was nice and made some solid drinks for the ladies. Then we got seated at a long table and started with calamari, fried mozzarella sticks, and stuffed mushrooms. All of these were good starters that both kids and adults enjoyed. Enjoyed my Apricot Horseradish Salmon (though a little small) plate with asparagus. The waiter was friendly and gave some great recommendations and I highly enjoyed the cool atmosphere.
If you like something simple yet with an ambiance to enjoy. This is the spot. Charli, our server wax simply magnificent with details, efficiency and great service. The food wax good with a nice price. Tje desserts were great. I suggest the chocolate cake or key lime tart. You have a nice romantic ambiance with sunset and planes taking off and landing. Nice for families, couples, friends or even business meetings. I will definitely put this on my list to return. I suggest you try it ENJOY!
I had the Gate 12 Signature Filet… very good! The corn was a nice surprise, and the steak was a perfect medium rare. My husband’s steak wasn’t done properly, so they brought him a new one. It still wasn’t great, but it was acceptable the second time. He’ll get something else next time.
Jackson was the best! Our waiter was kind, clear, helpful and had great curly hair!! Seriously though he was so professional and knew his stuff and gave us space to enjoy our date night, but new window step in and check on us. The food was excellent. We both got burgers with sweet potato fries, which are extremely tasty! My only pet peeve is it was very loud and echoey. They probably need to do something about the sound. The bread was not very good and neither was the corn. Just as a heads up if you are looking forward to some quality French baguette bread, look elsewhere. Also it was really hard to get here we had to take multiple U-turns due to construction. Perhaps they can have a better sign on how to get here.
Good food, no complaints, perhaps a bit expensive for what it was. I ordered the stuffed shrimp, which was tasty. I was in a group of about 10 people, seemed like service may have been a bit of the slow side, but we were a large group so that may have been it. Ambiance was neat, would have liked a better view of the airport, but again it was a large group so that may have been the issue. All in all I would definitely go back. :)
This was my first time going to Gate 12 and I found my experience to be pleasant! Our server was friendly and our bartender was knowledgeable and helpful!! Funny enough this was also my first time having Salmon and it was delicious! I loved the apricot glaze. I would definitely come here again to experience the drinks from our bartender 🤭😂
For a dining experience that truly takes off, 12th Gate Bar & Grill in College Station, Texas, offers a unique and memorable setting that's a must-see for anyone visiting Aggieland. Located right at the airport on George Bush Dr W, this isn't just a restaurant you stumble upon; it's a destination, giving you incredible runway views of planes taxiing and taking off right before your eyes. I recently tried their Chicken Fried Steak plate. While it was certainly okay and hit the spot, it wasn't the best I've had in Texas, perhaps not quite soaring to the heights of some other local favorites. However, the food takes a backseat to the absolute highlight here: the location. Watching the aircraft against the College Station sky provides a unique and even romantic backdrop, making it perfect for a special date night or a team dinner. The atmosphere is genuinely engaging, offering a fantastic and unique dining experience that goes beyond just the meal itself. The fantastic service and the sheer novelty of the airport setting truly elevate 12th Gate Bar & Grill into a standout spot in the Brazos Valley. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or just looking for a truly different place to enjoy a meal with an unbeatable view, 12th Gate Bar & Grill is definitely worth the visit. From Texas with ❤️ -april
We were in college station for a cheer competition we decided to try it. Our waiter the host all the people there were very friendly and attentive but the food was subpar. I asked for chicken fried chicken with no gravy got it with gravy. They fired up another and it wad so tough too cut into my asparagus was hard I couldn’t bite into some pieces. The drinks were very good. But what made it more unpleasant was a worker had his family there and the kids were screaming and crying the entire time. They were even throwing things that were hitting guests around them.
Nice place adjoining the executive terminal at the airport offering views onto the ramp and runway. Menu offers lots of choices - probably too many for all of them to be great. Recent order of a shrimp dish was just okay while other options like burgers were really good. Prices tend to be a little high; but, remember you’re paying for the view too. Service usually good. Overall a good choice for lunch or dinner.
Surprisingly upscale atmosphere for the location next to the airport. There was a disconnect between the host/ hostess and the servers. We had to complain to get waited on, but then the service was attentive. Food was tasty, but not outstanding. Crab cakes were nicely seasoned, but very little crab in them. The wedge salad was fresh, but nothing special.
We had heard good things and had expectations for a good dinner. The server was a TAMU student who chatted easily in a friendly manner and had a good sense of interaction but not too much. Food was excellent, but not the Mac and cheese. The cheese was weak and liquid. It didn't stick to the spiral noodles and collected in the bottom of the cup. It's a 4 star review for a good place.
Popular local eatery. Pub food mostly with some specials. Full bar. Decent wine. Front row seat to the local airport but not much is happening out on the runways. I’ll be back but it wouldn’t be a destination eatery.
The atmosphere was overall pretty enjoyable, however it did not make up for the overpriced and undercooked chicken I received. While it might have been edible I couldn’t bring myself to eat pink looking chicken. The chicken was more expensive than the salad itself and it was not cooked properly so that’s my main issue.
Fun atmosphere and great service! Food was very disappointing for the price point. Just because you’re in an airport doesn’t mean you have to serve airplane food. So many other places in cstat you could get tastier food for a comparable price. Just bland. Applebees caliber for date night prices. Sad!
Im not sure where the great reviews come from. Yes, you can see airplanes. But thats dependent on where you get seated. I had the steak ribeye special and it was awful. Zero flavor. Poor cut of meat. They were out of Coors Light. Dont know how that happens. Its not a low volume craft beer i ordered. But the worst part was very dated bathrooms! Omg! For a place charging $50 for a poor steak, i would expect something better than dorm room bathrooms! Pic attached i was so disgusted for a “fine dining” restaurant. Zero chance Ill return.
We sat at the bar it took the 5 people behind the bar to even acknowledge us then after our first drinks it took them 10 minutes to get another drink and my wife was never asked if she wanted another drink. Real bad service when you have 5 people behind the bar. Then they bring our meals and they were warm at best. We have been regulars there at least twice a month but after last night not sure we will ever go back which is sad. Hopefully management will keep a closer look at their service.
The food and atmosphere was decent, but the service we received was terrible. There were 2 pieces of plastic cooked onto my garlic bread that I discovered when I bit into it and my chicken Alfredo. when the manager came out, all that was offered was another piece of the bread.
Definitely overpriced and over hyped. Food was mediocre, I had a steak and asparagus. My asparagus were super shriveled up and limp. The drinks were just terrible. How do you mess up something as simple as a margarita?!!! Was 9 of us and the bill was about $500, for that price there’s way better places to go.
Poor service and they don’t really seem to care. We made dinner reservations there because the atmosphere and view of planes seemed intriguing. When we arrived, we asked to be seated in one of the open tables nearer the windows and the hostess abruptly refused. For the entire evening, there were open tables where we asked. The food was fair but the orders came out wrong…forgetting to give us part of the meal. Our wine order was lost and came out very late. No apologies, no manager came by, nothing. Parking is at the airport and quite dark.
We were excited to try Gate 12! However, it was way too overhyped because we were not impressed. All our drinks were made differently each time, the margarita tasted like cucumber, and most of the food was low quality. My side of sweet potato fries tasted like they were frozen, and the Mac n cheese was just pasta in what was like velveeta cheese. The atmosphere was way too loud, and we felt rushed to leave by the waitress. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
It unfortunate that I only gave it 2 stars. The ambiance is wonderful. I loved watching the plans take off. The tea was delicious. Sliders were tasted burt and gamey. The chicken fried chicken was fried to death and super greasy. The service was terrible. Had the server box up our food, payment was waiting on the table. Server walked off and didn't come back. Went to the bar to pay. Bartender apologized and said that the server was doing her back work cause she's trying to get out of here since she's been here since 8am. I guess her time is more important than ours. Might give it another go. Hopefully we just caught them on a off day.
This place has quite the ambiance, especially if you're an aviation-nut! But the food & prices are ridiculous!! What could be a VERY cool burger joint, seems to be priced as if its some sort of restaurant the late A. Bourdain would have done an episode on!? But the uppity clientele seemed more than happy to shell out the money for average fare. With all the pilots hanging around (especially the ones in training) think about free drinks for ALL US Naval Rescue Swimmers! Oorah!!
I will say the food was WONDERFUL! We came here on date night because we have heard nothing but great stuff but I was really disappointed. The staff was super sweet but the bar tender treated us like we were a hassle. The drinks were good but I felt like I wasn’t wanted here. Topped it off when my bill was slide across the bar and knocked into my stuff… If you’re going to the dinning area definitely worth a try!!!
I wish I could leave a great review like everyone else here. We had a group reservation here for a party. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was decent, but oh my, was not expecting the number I saw when we got the check for the most bland food I’ve ever had. I got the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. So dry and no flavor. I was so disappointed. My husband ordered a pasta with shrimp on top. They charged us $12 extra for 3 pieces of shrimp. My husband also ordered a Gin and Tonic from the drink menu, and they charged to put gin in it. I also want to add that none of these prices were specified on the menu when we ordered. Everyone was charged for all the sides (mashed potatoes and green beans) that were not listed on the menu. On the check, it looks like we ordered the sides separately even when we didn’t get to choose. We didn’t even know they were giving us sides. Oh also, they made us believe that everyone’s salad was included with their meal. Nope. $13 for a salad. On top of all that, they would not let anyone make any modifications to their meals. Someone at our table requested no mushrooms on their burger and they told us they would not do modifications because it’s “too complicated.” Huh???
Update: I gave it another chance and it was still a one-star experience. We sat at the bar this time, and despite a lot of staff working behind the bar, the service was still very slow. The mediocre calimari had excessive breading and was not served hot. The draft beer selection was poor. Even though the bar was not crowded, the ambiance was loud and chaotic. The crab cakes were mostly bread crumbs and barely any crab. The side of grilled asparagus had only 4 spears. Service was friendly but very slow and took 4 trips to get the drink order right. Seeing an occasional aircraft taxi by didn't justify the bad food and overpriced wine.
Made a reservation and was told upon arrival there would be a 30-minute wait because it was booked within the hour. When we asked if pushing the reservation back 30 minutes would help, we were told we’d still have to wait the same amount of time. What’s the point of taking reservations if they’re not honored? The hostess staff seemed disorganized and overwhelmed, also completely rude (I believe her name was Melanie) citing being short-staffed and overbooked was the reason. It was clear the restaurant lacks proper management and has no regard for basic reservation etiquette. Extremely disappointing experience. Not to mention after we left and made a reservation elsewhere, we received a call from that same hostess 5 minutes later stating that if we wanted to drive all the way back they would have a table ready. We obviously declined due to the overall unpleasant experience, would not recommend.
Crab cakes were not hot and definitely not crispy. The stuffed shrimp was mushy and the vegetable medley was onions and peppers? What happen to carrots, green beans or squash? The shrimp scampi was not scampi? At least 1/2 cup of mushrooms! Scampi does not have mushrooms! Waitress didn’t even tell us the specials or what the were out of? We heard that from another waiter. Overall very disappointing for what we paid! Nobody said thank you for coming in!
If I could put 0 stars I would… this place was such a disappointment. We have the first reservation of the day and can’t even sit at a table to see the runway because “you need a reservation…”!? I had a reservation. There wasn’t an option to pick tables, just an option for time and the party number. The hostess said you need to put in the comments where you would like to sit and if you ask nicely you may get it. If you’ve never been to a restaurant how do you know if you want to sit in a certain location or not? On top of that, the food wasn’t even worth it. You go to an airport dinner for the airport… but when you can’t even see that and the food is $30/person and not even good then what’s the point? The Patti melt was bland with no flavor, we did not get the correct sides we asked for, and it’s on avg $20 for each plate- not just entrees but sandwiches? So disappointing. If I want a good burger I’ll go to Koppe Bridge. Not a so called airport diner that is focused more on their looks in trying to be an upscale restaurant rather than an actual airport diner that is good
The servers here are great, absolutely amazing hard working kids. The, what i’m assuming were managers, were horrible. The way they treat their employees is unbelievable, I heard it first hand a few times when I was in the restaurant. Maybe they should get up and start doing the hard work their employees are doing for them before treating them like crap. The food was overpriced and wasn’t the best quality especially for the price. Do not waste your money here.
As a local community member, I just had the worst service from the Service Manager, Todd! Not only was he rude, but he flat out did not care about anything I had to say. The service is terrible now and I see why, since he is the "service manager"! This used to be our favorite place to eat but I will never return! For someone who uses J. Cody's a lot for catering at TAMU for special events, this was NOT the experience I thought I was going to have. The Whitten family is wonderful and does a lot for our community and I am so sad to have to write this post! You lost a few Ag's today, Gate 12!
Attending because we heard great things about this place. We sat at our table, nearly an empty restaurant, for 30 minutes, and nobody even asked if we had been served, nobody brought even a water, nothing. It was pathetic and disappointing. People were brought it after us and were served immediately and we sat and watched, never once getting served. Waiters refused to look us in the eye and help. We were in Auburn gear for the game, and many people said that we weren’t served because of our clothing. Discrimination at its finest. If someone refuses to serve because Of the team we enjoy, the restaurant needs to close. This restaurant does not deserve your money if it discriminates on such a surface level thing.
I'd rate it less than 1 if it would let me. My wife and I were celebrating our 41st anniversary. It was my first time at the restaurant. What should have been a great time was an abhorrent disaster. 9pm reservations...waited 10mins at the hostess station only to not get a table on the runway. 2 guys that came in 5mins after us were seated there. Waited another 8-10mins for our server to show up. The 2 guys on the runway, served before us. My wife's steak burger ($25) was charred on the outside and had spots of bright pink meat in it. Fries were passably warm. My dinner consisted of a charred/burned on one side chicken fried steak, cold baked potato that didnt even melt the butter or cheese and cold Codycorn. Manager took my entree off the bill, which is the least that should be done. Offered us dessert, out of half of them. The worst part of all was having to look at my wife who was very sad that I didn't get a meal. Thank you JCody and Gate 12 for robbing us of our once in a lifetime celebration.!!!
