El Padrino has good food and good drinks and we usually go there as a change of pace from our other go-to Mexican restaurants. Service is always good without being overbearing, and the place has a nice atmosphere. The bar area is separate from the dining area, so if you want to watch some sports on TV, ask to be seated in the bar area. On this visit my wife had the Padrino Tacos and I had the Enchilada Dinner. Both were very good. We also had the House Margaritas and they were good, too. We like El Padrino and give it our thumbs up!

My mom and I got the ribeye, it was so good!! The veggies were so flavorful, I really enjoyed my dish. My son got tacos and he loved them. Food was fresh and tasty!

Great Tex-Mex restaurant. The happy hour is a $1 off drinks. I sat in the bar area and the bartenders were very attentive. My food came out quickly and was very good. The margarita was strong and had good flavor. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the the Springs.

Really great food, service, and portions. Their black beans are vegetarian but they're refried are not. I got the nachos which were superb. Not a huge place but extremely nice interior with ample waiting space. The bar looked really fun too. The prices on here are different than their actual prices so I took pictures of the menu. I will be going again.

El Padrino is an outstanding Mexican restaurant that I would highly recommend. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with friendly and attentive service that sets the tone for the rest of your dining experience. The menu is full of authentic and delicious Mexican dishes that are prepared with fresh ingredients and served with care. The tacos are a standout, with a variety of meats and toppings to choose from, and the guacamole is made to order. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that adds to the overall experience. The bar area is also impressive, with a wide selection of tequilas and margaritas that are expertly mixed. El Padrino is a gem of a restaurant that truly delivers on all fronts. The food is delicious, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Mexican dining experience.

Delicious authentic Mexican food. Had the green chili (hot) and it was amazing. The hot salsa isn't too hot. Could have eaten it with a spoon it was so good.

Had a delicious lunch here. The avocado pork burritos are so good - green chili is just the right spicy. We sat outside on the patio, perfect on a summer day.

I ordered the Ribeye and it was one of the best steaks I have EVER had!! Delicious 😋

I loved this place under the previous owner (Darren Vasquez) and my wife and I continue to go here now. Good food. Love the chili rellenos! Excellent green chili. Keep up the great job!

The food was fantastic. 3 out of 4 of our orders were messed up. The waitress fixed quickly. The green chilie was very good. And they offer it in vegetarian if you don't eat pork.

My friends and I grabbed some drinks tonight, and what more could you ask for, with delicious drinks, a great atmosphere, and awesome service — big shoutout to Colin our waiter, top notch customer service! Oh, and free chips and salsa 👌🏼

We've been to this restaurant several times. And each time it gets better. If you order a rather basic lunch I'll meal it will come out with very special seasoning and colorful presentation and it comes out rapidly, hot and with anything else you want. The flavors are extra special good and I see no reason to go anywhere else for Mexican food in Northern Colorado springs.

This has been one of my favorites restaurants for over a decade. I love the food and the staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I make sure to visit this restaurant as often as I can since I no longer live in that neighborhood.

This is one of our favorite Mexican places. The food is always good, but the reason we like it is because it's a great atmosphere and easy to talk. Some restaurants get very noisy and this one is just right with the cozy atmosphere. The staff have always been friendly...which we appreciate.

Great local restaurant, amazing staff and atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will be back.

More like a 3.5. Everything tasted quite good. To nitpick, most vegetables were julienned so finely that they just scorched on the fajita plate. Everything could use more seasoning. Wait staff were very energetic and friendly, but missed out on asking to refill bar drinks. We had time for a 2nd and the restaurant was not busy. Will return, nice weekend dinner.

Friendly and good food. I don't feel as weighed down like at many other Colorado Mexican food places. Only negative... The flatware bundled tight seemed cheap. Over all, good place to go out to.

This was a Date Night with my husband and I can honestly say it was pretty good. The service was great, our waiter was very friendly and attentive, it was pretty good. My only issue (idk what else to call it) was our food was bland. Except for the beans and rice the Enchiladas themselves were flavorless. That's the only reason for the 4⭐ review. But we'll definitely be back to check dessert 😋

Food was good. I enjoyed the burrito. Service was okay but it's all strange these days with Covid bologna.

Pretty good spot for tex mex. Very friendly staff and food did not take long at all! The deep fried tacos were very good too.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food. It was snowing and this was our third choice. Being from San Antonio I generally avoid Mexican food out of state based on a lot of past experience. This was a solid 4 stars for SA, compared to other Mexican food in Colorado It's a 5 star.

We stopped in for Happy Hour and an early dinner… 4pm on a Sat. Sparse crowd. Service and food was good and fast. One of the strange thing was that the menu had no prices. The waiter explained it was $6k a pop to change the menu when prices changed. He offered a handout later with the prices. A little strange… hahahaha. The $5 HH margarita was good but was from a machine. Chips and salsa were good. We probably will go back some time and try it again. Prices were slight high…?

N
Nicki Klor

The food is alright, the chips were good and so was the salsa. The queso was gritty and it had good flavor but it is a yellow cheese sauce. The chimichanga was huge but lacked the queso sauce smothering it. The nachos were alright but there was almost no fresh veggies or anything topping them. Overall service was super nice and the restaurant is quaint but I doubt I’ll be back as this isn’t what I am looking for in a Mexican restaurant

j

Was truly just an average experience. Small amount of meat for the price. No prices on the menu is odd.

C
Carl Holmes

Menus now have no price on them? I expect that in a Michelin star restaurant, not a Mexican restaurant. Food was good per the usual expectation, but in what world is a Chicken plate with 1/3 less food than my friends shrimp platter 3 dollars more? Also, over 20 for each plate now? I understand it is getting more expensive and I appreciate the small guys pushing through - but WOW!

R
Rena S

The food is good. No prices on the menu!! I got the flatiron dish, which was tasty! I thought it was probably going to cost 20. It was 27. It wasn't THAT good! Go across the street to Vaqueros! The food, atmosphere, menu, and prices are all superior! The only think padrino does better is provide superior service!

The food was okay. Its better to order beer, i tried the margarita and it was very sweet I could not finish it. This restaurant is perfect for a quick bite.

I've been eating here now for a couple of years and it used to be pretty good. Food quality has gone down the hill big time. Prices are high for what you get. I sure would like to see this place get its act together cuz I like going there but I won't be back until the food changes. Get somebody in the kitchen that knows what they're doing and how to make the food flavorful. If you don't you're not going to be in business for long

Service isn't bad because of the wait staff he was nice and friendly. They do not include prices on anything on food or drinks. The only way you can see the prices is by visiting their website via this QR code they hide behind the drink menus. That's the first red flag. I would have never known unless i asked where the prices were. Expect to pay 7 or 8 bucks minimum for a bottle of beer. Every food menu item was about 6 to 7 dollars higher than Vaqueros, which is down the street. All the food is just the basic tex Max restaurant style makeup. Not anything special. Some stuff was marked 10 dollars higher than vaqueros. I couldn't justify this because it felt like i was being scammed, so i left 6 dollars on the table for the waiter even though all i did was sit down and look at the prices. Then i got up and left to go to Vaqueros. If you're curious about trying this place, just skip this one. I am trying to do you a favor. Next time, try honesty Padrino's. I see why you hide your prices when you mark them up that high.

My husband and I came here for a late lunch, around 1:30 recently. It's a very nice Mexican restaurant, nice decor, clean, and a pleasant ambiance. Chips seemed fresh, the salsa was okay. The waitress was also very pleasant and attentive to our needs, but then it wasn't busy at all. A couple things I was disappointed about: 1- There were no prices of any sort on the menu. No idea what each item cost. There's a lunch menu and a regular menu. What's the difference in cost? Probably nothing. Maybe to just lead us to believe there was. Also, there are no pictures of any of the menu items. Most times that is what sells me, not particularly the words on the menu. I like to see what it is I'm ordering. 2- I ordered a taco salad with chicken. For an extra fee they offered grilled chicken, but I opted for shredded. When it arrived, it looked ok; Not great, just okay. When I tasted it, I wasn't impressed. For some reason the chicken did not taste fresh to me. It tasted like perhaps it may have been processed chicken or something you would purchase a big bag of from Costco, and shred it yourself. No seasonings or sauces/salsas came with it. My husband ordered from the lunch menu, also included chicken. He completely agreed with me regarding the lack of freshness or taste. For these reasons we have no desire in returning.

They have rock playing at a “mexican” restaurant, the menus have no prices which is a bit frustrating only to be met with a considerable bill at the end, our server frank was awesome but the restaurant i feel like can do so much better

Really disappointing experience in terms of service and food. The food was so bad I couldn’t even finish a few bites.

Food is okay, not much flavor. Service is horrible. Our waitress gave us the wrong order 2 times, and was rarely there to check in on us and instead saw her talking and on her phone instead. Asked for a steak quesadilla and got chicken. Was going to tell her, but she didn’t come back to our table for 15+ minutes by the time she came back everyone was finished eating and the food was cold. Probably won’t go back. Also the prices are a bit high.

Went here for lunch last week. Was extremely irritated to find that there were no prices on their menu, which is shady (I figured out after the fact how other reviewers found prices). I ordered the pork and avocado burrito off the lunch menu. When it came, it was the teeny tiniest little thing I'd ever seen. It tasted fine, but there were no pieces of avocado, just a very thin spread of guac, and about 4 small pieces of pork in the entire burrito. Figured it was small due to it being on the lunch menu, but when the bill came, I couldn't believe they charged $14 for this, what a joke! The skinny margarita tasted fine, but was 90% ice, so pretty much also a waste of money. Will not ever be returning here.

We ordered there every month. The last time we ordered to go we were charged for the to go cartons. It wasn't that big of deal - we understand and paid but the owner was rude and blocked my call when I questioned why we were not notified when we ordered - they also give you 1 -teaspoon of rice and beans- Never question them or you will be banned! The owner does not appear to be honest about their prices!

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our daughter’s 17th birthday, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. The food was extremely disappointing. The ground beef and steak tasted as though they had been cooked in blood with no seasoning and then reheated. The green chili sauce had a strong metallic, canned flavor. The pico de gallo tasted old, like it had been pre-packaged and left too long. There were no authentic Mexican cheeses used, and the beans clearly came straight from a can. Only one person at our table was asked how the food was within a few minutes of it being served, before we even had a chance to properly try it. After just a few bites, everyone at the table stopped eating because the food was so bad. We brought our concerns to management, and they initially offered only 15% off a couple of meals. When my husband expressed that this wasn’t a fair resolution—especially since most plates were barely touched, the manager became defensive and said, “What do you want, it all for free?” He then abruptly took the receipt and comped the plates, but added an 18% gratuity based on the original total, which felt extremely inappropriate given the situation. To add to the frustration, they do not allow outside birthday cakes and do not list prices on their menu, which feels very deceptive. The photos online do not depict how it really looks either. We should have trusted our instincts when we walked in and saw a nearly empty restaurant during a Broncos/Bills game being streamed. Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere. Only those who dont like flavor or seasoning will enjoy this place.

Food was terrible. Spanish rice was completely undercooked, beans were cold, and Carne Asada was somehow grainy. My wife had beef tacos and the corn tortillas were mushy. Very disappointing first time experience. And they weren’t even that busy when we went for the food to be that bad.

H
Hank Gray

Waited 30 mins to order drinks after being sat. Then almost 20 more to get drinks and they were not busy. Food sucked. Out of 5 on use only 1 person actually ate. Lucky the salsa was good.

N
Natalie Santiago

Honestly a ptiful amount of food for $17. I ordered a veggie burrito, and it came with no rice, despite what the menu said. It was probably comperable in size to what is at taco bell, maybe smaller. It was not much better in taste. The chips and salsa were mediocre. Also there were no prices on the menu, which was annoying to figure out via google.

J
Jenna Quillen

Extremely small portions, very high prices, and such low quality food with no taste it completely ruined my appetite. Do not recommend and will not be back.
