The best 16oz ribeye in Columbus!!! Stephanie is the greatest!!! If you haven't visited Ben's ChopHouse, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!
First time at the new Ben's Chophouse location on Veterans. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere and even better food. Service was great, food arrived promptly and everything was cooked to perfection.
The food was delicious.. The music that night was magnificent.. Never heard of them but they played a little bit of everything... Really had a wonderful time with my husband...
Great food. Great service. I sat at the bar and Stephanie waiting on me. Great bartender. Chicken alfredo was amazing. Chicken was cooked to perfection. Will be back soon.
We had dinner at Ben's Chop house tonight for the first time. We were very impressed. The food was awesome. The service was great. We were so impressed and will be back!!
Amber is an excellent bar tender. The food, although pricey, matches in quality. Great atmosphere even for a Monday. Will revisit if ever in the area.
My husband & I dine here a few times a year. Every time we go my husband always order's the firecracker flounder. He loves it.
The service was quick and efficient. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We had a great experience.
Read the reviews and didn't see the problem, perfectly cooked steaks, attentive staff, just an all around great experience
Excellent service!!! Delicious food!!! Romantic environment and very clean restrooms!!! I would definitely go back!!!
Our waiter Miguel was awesome!!! The food was good too but you can't beat a good waiter!!
Been very pleased every visit. They have a great lunch menu!
Love the place , Food is always perfect, great friendly service, ask for Katie she is a great waitress
My boyfriend and I ate here Sunday evening. We received excellent service (wish I could remember the guy's name). We each had the 8 oz filet and started with lollipop lamb chops. The server was a little more present than necessary, but I would take that over absent when we needed something any day. The seasoning was a little pepper heavy for the meats, but I'll take that over too salty. All in all, the goal was to find a great steak, and Ben's succeeded.
Our waitress Sara was AMAZING!!! Even though we had a large party she accommodated us well! The 16oz ribeye, smashed garlic potatoes and mac&cheese was AMAZING! The bread...OMG, delicious!! Will be back!
We had a great dinner here. Our server, Miguel, was wonderful; he was so thoughtful and right on top of everything we needed. I ordered the chicken marsala and the chicken was so tender .. Delicious. I would absolutely visit again.
I’m upset ruby tuesdays isn’t there any more but Bens chop house is a pretty good replacement. Good food and service, slightly pricey.
Came for the wine tasting. The wines were good, but the Seared Ahi Tuna was overcooked. Stick with the burgers and the steaks, avoid everything else.
05/14/17..........I was a little taken aback by the fact that I made a reservation for 6:30 & still had to wait 20 mins for a seat. The funny thing was the fact that there were empty tables so I did not understand the wait.maybe they were short staffed.idk.i almost left.once seated, our server,Calvin, was great.he was very friendly & had such a great demeanor.he made the wait worth it.food took a min to come out but it was ok because he kept us engaged in the process so we knew that it was coming.my sister had the beef tip salad & pork chops with smashed potatoes.PERFECT.my mom & I had the 16 oz ribeye.she had seasoned string beans & a baked potato & I had the seasoned beans & sweet potato waffle fries.OMG........The food was perfect & so good.the steak & chop were cooked to perfection.probably the best steak i have eaten in a long time.I almost didn't come to this place because the reviews were not good so now I don't understand the bad reviews.other than the wait,my experience was great.the only thing food wise that I did not care for was the beverage & the calamari.i don't like calamari anyway but my mom wanted them.i should have said no thanks.lol.I had a sassy sangria which was too strong or something.idk but it was not good.i really wanted a drink from cheddar's to go with my food.i will be back though as the money was worth it.
Our server back in September was Jesus, and he was wonderful and very pleasant. The manager on duty was a young man and came to our table. I feel that he should wear pants. I would give you five stars, but I hated to be greeted looking at hairy legs. He should wear pants for the type of atmosphere that this restaurant represents. I hope the next time we come this situation will be fixed.
Dirty glass, but hamber steak was good. Wife's fork was dirty as well. Place is quite and seems clean. Wife thought Mahi Mahi sandwich wasn't that great. We had lunch.
Limited menu.. Service could have been faster... I expected a lot more entre choices. We were there at 530 pm.. Not sure that I will go back.
We were excited about the reopening. We were hoping the menu was larger. Also being a reopening we should have waited a few months so they can work out the reopening issues.
This place didn't really impress me overall, nor was it worth the price wanted on the menu. I ordered the chicken and waffles - $12; the two chicken strips were large and tasted well enough and the waffles were a little bland. We ordered the pancakes - $5 - for our daughters, and despite the menu saying they included potatoes and bacon, only the pancakes arrived. When we brought this to the attention of our server, we were told the menu item was just changed to include the sides. They brought the bacon out on a single plate to share, but wasn't told at the time that was the intention. There were no potatoes served still. We let the issue alone as our girls don't really eat those style potatoes anyway and there's no sense wasting food. I was quite concerned that neither the chef/cook nor the server caught that oversight. My wife's burger -$12 - was cooked well and included all ingredients listed on the menu, but there were no condiments like mayo or mustard to go with it and therefore needed to be requested. The service itself was good; the server was friendly and understanding of our needs when the issue arose about our meals, though not completely accurate. The place was clean and had a look that this was a more refined restaurant. I feel if the prices were about three to four dollars less for our entrees, and maybe a dollar less for the girls', this would have been a better value.
Went around 7 pm. Wasn't crowded and the waitress was fairly attentive. The food was okay. Scallops and the tuna appetizer was good but the sides did not seem fresh at all. Don't think it was worth the money but I would try again later down the road.
Had the seared Ahi tuna and it was perfect. For my entree i had the 16 oz ribeye which was cooked perfectly but was very very very tough (could have fooled me) don't think it was a ribeye, if it was it came from a 40 year old cow. My sides were the fried brussel sprouts and were amazing. And also the garlic smashed potatoes were very tasty but was such a small portion it woild have literally fit into a large soup spoon but tasty never the less. I sat at the bar and Lindsey was superb and was very attentive. Overall not a bad visit since the move from the old location. Just do not order the 16 oz ribeye, oh and the new york style cheese cake was delicious.
Hit and Miss - The Appetizer of calamari was good. Took them 35 mins to bring our food, kept saying sorry and that it was coming. Wife got the sea scallops ($28). That came with 4 scallops no bigger than a quarter. I got the beef tips with the cheese grits ($22). Grits had Absolutley no flavor! It was like eating water No flavor. Beef tips was good but only got 4 one inch squares with 5 other bit pieces. Would I come back........Olive Garden here we come.
Lana Del Ray Pandora station was great, server was pretty good, food was so bland and beef in the burger was tough and dry. I've literally enjoyed a $5 trip to McDonald's more and this was definitely more than $5.
Ordered brunch. Eggs Benedict came out without hollandaise sauce and out of syrup for pancakes. Sent back only to have a cold lump of congealed sauce piled on top. Server doesn't know menu....disappointed.
Total sticker shock! We shared a steak and dessert, no appetizers . . . $60!!!!! Waiter was nice, food very so-so and ordinary except the steak was charred.
I'm from out of town, I ate here awhile back it was Great, the music was nice and relaxing. This time the service was ok, the music was horrible. The food not worth the price.
I purchased a $50.00 gift card at Ben's, from the restaurant, and have the receipt that I purchased it from there several months ago, I've been back twice since and still I am unable to use the card. I was told each time the manager wasn't in to see if I could get refunded for my card purchase while they are resolving whatever fraud issue they're having.
This was my first time at Ben's Chophouse. A friend and I went. The lightening was very good. Music was good. I ordered chicken Marsala. I'm thinking it's coming with pasta or mashed potatoes. Vegetable of the day was broccoli. I was very disappointed in the broccoli. It was broccoli cuts. For the cost, they should serve broccoli florets. My friend ordered the sea scallops. He got A hunk of mashed potatoes in the middle with the 4 sea scallops. Once again not worth the price. I don't I know if I will visit again but if I do I will not order the same thing. Other people in the restaurant ordered catfish. It looked good and the steak looked good. On the upside Staff was very nice and attentive.
Service was decent, but the quality of the food and dining experience was less than desired. The evening started with my beer being served in a glass with lipstick still on the rim. We did not have appetizers. Then our dinners were served, but the steaks and sides were all mixed up. The server had to re-plate the meals. My wife said her filet was great. I ordered the ribeye (medium). It was well marbled, but rather tough and chewy. It was not what I expect for a ribeye. My cheese grits side was cold, but the “fried” (they were sautéed) Brussels sprouts were very good. The tab came to $90 after tip. I had 1 beer and my wife had 1 glass of Pinot. I felt like the quality of the food and attention to detail was something to be expected from a Longhorn, Outback, Texas Roadhouse type restaurant. Not a place where 2 people spend $100 for a meal. We won’t be back.
I gave Ben's a second chance after 5 years and a new location and I was as unsatisfied this trip as I was 5 years ago. My server was lacking in the attention department and my Ribeye was very fatty and looked and tasted like it came out of a Ruby Tuesdays kitchen and the presentation looked like it rolled out of my personal kitchen... I give it 2 stars because my wife was pleased with her shrimp dinner.
HORRENDOUS Mother's Day! 5/14/17 the day before Mother's Day, I make a reservation in order to ensure we'd have a table when we arrived the next day. Five people, my daughter, myself, my husband and 2 kids. The reservation is for 1:15, we arrive at 12:45, walk in at 1:00. Knowing we're early, we wait and wait and wait and wait. 1:22 my hubby asks when we'll be seated. Again we wait. 1:30 we are seated with no apology for the long wait. 1:40 we give our drink order and get it another 10 minutes later at that time we order. After 45 minutes they bring the kid's food. They eat and finish, we are getting pissed now and so are a lot of other tables. We turn around and see a few 2 toppers have gotten their food before we have but they were seated after us and after the 4 other tables with 5+ people. At 3:25 my husband has flames shooting from his ears (he's diabetic and had to get eat) so he goes to find the manager. The food arrives at 3:30. Some of it's overcooked, cold, hard and dry. the manager comes to the table and again there is no apology, but she has the nerve to tell us we've only been waiting for an hour after we told her what time we arrived. She cleared it up by saying she meant from the time we gave our order. We all were about to explode on her, but we held back. She comped all the meals with the exception of mine, which was fine. She also sent dessert (not of our choice - had she asked, she'd have known we don't eat refined sugar, nor EVER order dessert) chocolate cake and some kind of orange cake which I tasted, but didn't like. All-in-all this Mother's Day brunch was the worst I've ever had in all my 34 years of celebrations! Never had a problem when they were on Sidney Simons, but this was a CF if ever there was one! The restaurant is poorly managed and the staff was ill-prepared for the crowd they had. They apparently seated walk-ins before their reservations. We learned this by talking to other tables around us. At one point, the group seated behind us got up and walked out. They'd been seated right after we had. If they knew anything about SERVICE, the manager (who we hadn't seen the entire time we'd been there) would've walked around and at the very least, apologized to all the tables around us who'd been sitting there waiting. Instead, she disappeared back to wherever she had come from, never to be seen again. We loved the other location, but will never go back to this one on Veteran's again. Another minus, seating is all tables, no booths which is ridiculous because it lends itself to a lot of open space. Whoever designed this place did a piss-poor job!
I just left this place... We were seated and sat for almost 15 mins no one came to tell us how long it would be until we get a server... We just sat there until we got up and left... She told us... By in a sarcastic manner... Bad business and no customer service ... This place won't be opened long... The menu is made out of paper...
It appears to be racism by looking at the comments made and by who. Ben's need to be careful because all I see is mainly minorities complaining about service. I will try them out to give them the benefit of doubt and will call them out if my theory is correct.
Terrible, waited 1 hour at lunch for canned crab soup (with no crab) and a wilted chicken salad. There was no one in there when we arrived. Won't be back!
Slow service, Poor menu options, poor atmosphere, overpriced for portion size. Not kid friendly. Poor unfriendly staff.
After not receiving the (free) bread that comes before your meal, I finally asked after being seated for probably 20 min. Our waitress had it on our table within 2 min, in a FILTHY napkin! Not just a little spot that didn't come off in the wash and was over looked by staff.. Our napkin was so dirty it still had butter and food on it from SOMEONE ELSE! And not just a little spec here and there, the entire napkin was covered! I have no idea how it could have been overlooked! The hostess was dressed in a very fitting, nice black black dress for the type of restaurant. It was too bad she had it covered by a camouflaged oversized jacket. It took the formal look down to nothing. It was completely unprofessional!! I was also disappointed with the few options of steak on the menu. The plus side, the food was amazing! The bread melted in your mouth (even though I'm pretty sure it came frozen from a bag). We had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. It was my first time trying them and this restaurant made them delicious! Between my husband and I, we had the rib eye and filet, both were cooked prefect and the flavor was on point! The food here was amazing! It's too bad the experience was horrible, especially for the price, I will not be a returning customer.
Absolutely horrible, we were not addressed by a server for over 20 minutes. Then when we ordered appetizers one of them came out but the other did not. Once we received our meal my son's cheeseburger from the kids menu was raw. They proceeded to tell us that we ordered the burger medium rare which is not even an option for a child's burger. My steak was ordered medium but when I received it, it was barely even rare. The only positive was that my other two children's meals came out right.
I've only been here twice, since they've opened up their veterans location. The first time the hostess was so rude. She was a long brown haired short young lady. And the wait was ridiculous, the hostess said that she would get me when my table was ready and sat everyone but me! I ended up staying at the bar with my friend. The second time I went my boyfriend recommended us going. We went and the service was terrible. The same hostess was there and she was again very rude and she seemed very bossy to the other girl she was working with. The seats are very uncomfortable and the whole restaurant is unorganized! I've also noticed that they're a bit racist acting . The people walk around and check on only Caucasian people. They didn't check on the African Americans to see how they were doing. Now I am a Caucasian female and my boyfriend is an African American, and I didn't appreciate that. The food wasn't even worth the price. Ruby Tuesdays should've stayed there!!! I do not reccomend eating there
The service was great but the food left something to be desired. My son ordered soup, salad, steak and fried Brussels sprouts. He ate the soup and the salad, the Brussels Sprouts were burnt the first time, they brought out a new order. You could smell that the grease needed to be changed. He didn't even eat his steak. No sooner than we get out of the door, he begins throwing up. Not many choices for chicken and the pork chop I ordered was really fatty. Very disappointing. We have eaten at many chophouses before, but we will not be returning to this one.
Absolutely horrible. My wife and I came to lunch today. We arrived early and got a table. I ordered chicken marsala with mashed potatoes and my wife ordered grilled chicken salad and she crab soup. We waited at our table for almost an hour before the food arrived. The waiter sat my chicken marsala on the table with roasted potatoes and told me that this is how they serve it for lunch. They were way over cooked and my chicken was extremely salty. My wife's soup had no actual crab meat in it and tasted like it came from a can. The lettuce in the salad was brown and wilted and there were only four small strips of chicken on it. Needless to say she did not eat it and we had to go through a drive through after leaving.
Service was good. Everything else, including the management, was bad. My wife and I both ordered the filet mignon. When it arrived, we both took one bite and spat it out. Spoiled meat. Cooked well, but the steaks had been improperly aged. Sent the steak back and told the server we would take the steak tips instead, figuring they could be cooked quickly. They arrived in a timely manner, but every third piece had a big enough piece of gristle that we were spitting those out too into our napkins. Then, after all this, came the bill. The manager had "taken care of" our bill. That is to say, she discounted four dollars per steak so we were "only" paying for a sirloin. When I pointed out that we were still paying more than the price of what we actually received, the steak tips, the manager deducted another dollar. Whoopee. My wallet almost a hundred dollars lighter, we got the hell out of there. I would avoid this place like the plague.
Food Presentation was horrible. Xmas Party Lunch pre order, so certain sides were left off nor was I asked what side I wanted. Not sure why they thought overcoooked roasted potatoes wedges are to be served with salmon. Also had to ask for a refill. Waiter(s) was nice though.
Staff was very pleasant, but that's where things ended. The food was truly the worst I've ever eaten and we eat out a lot. For chopped steak (hamburger) and pork chops, I paid $50. Will not ever go again...
Husband ordered duck came out raw. I ordered chicken alfrado ... tastes like canned sauce and had big peper chunks that i kept biting into it was nasty. We will not be returning. It looks fancy but but not with this food. Salad n rolls were the best thing i ate here
The food is very overpriced. We also had to pay 18% just because we all say together. Which made our bill even higher. Some members of my party got sick then next day after eating the food. The waitress was rude.
