Nice ambience!!! Karaoke 🎤 night on Wednesday was great !! Chips/salsa so delicious too.
Our waitress was really busy but always made her way back to our table. Great food and service
Great food...great wait and bar staff. Food comes hot and very tasty.
What can I say, authentic Mexcian food, our server was very good, very very clean, they seemed to always be cleaning (other places should take something from their playbook). Prices were fair... Only downside was some of the guests were a little rude (called us wettos) basically means white people. I just laughed and shook my head, pretty sad really. Probably the reason I won't go back, but I will order to go.
We went on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was very festive, with a Mariachi band playing at the bar. We ordered Molcajete Frio (large glass goblet filled with raw seafood)- it was huge, enough for both my partner and myself. We also each had a house margarita. There are complimentary chips and salsa--that that were replenished after eating eating the first round. The restaurant space is large. There is parking in the front and back of building.
Great place to have a small bite, a big fish or a giant dish to share among a family or a complete group! They have accommodated some tables in the front patio. Unfortunately there are only a couple. Since they serve also alcohol, some customers stay in drinking and chatting when other people is waiting to get seated to eat. I personally believe that the owner has to set a dinning time up. This way people that wants to just drink and talk can do it somewhere else!!! No offense but be courteous and understanding about the situation. Let everyone the opportunity to enjoy at least a little bit of this great place!
Given the fact that that Spanish the primary language of all the employees, that should tell you something. The food is outrageously good and the service is exemplary. You can pay a lot more for way less quality or you can come here be served what you want and people watch on the weekend. Mariachi's play on the weekend and they sound and look good as well as have quite a arsenal to choose from... Overall, this is a fun place that taste's good to boot...
Excellent place to enjoy the best of a seafood with some delicious drinks. They have a really good parking lot. Also the most important on those uncertain times of Covid-19, they have outdoor space where the customers can enjoying with safety and peaceful.
Fantastic food! The fajitas were amazing, here's a picture of an empty skillet, the lime find is a that is left. Great salsa, fresh guac, fresh produce, great fish tacos. The fried shrimp! The picture on the menu showed the mass produced breaded shrimp, but what was delivered was the tastiest hand breaded shrimp I've ever had. The owner came up and asked us how everything was, staff was all very friendly.
Looking for takeout fish tacos google directed me here. Service was good, food was great! Also it was packaged nicely with chips, salsa included. Price was reasonable. Very happy!
Food was top tier, service excellent and the drinks were so good. Thank you for your great service and food. Great experience 👍🏾
Sea Food and anything related is my desired favorite. I was informed about this place by my brother, and it definitely exceeded all expectations. The green "Agua Chile" was killer, and we ordered two portions of the oysters.
This place is hands down amazing! Food is delicious 😋 service was great! Very clean and family friendly atmosphere.
Had the Enchiladas Rojas de queso plate and it hit the spot. Thanks to Ivon service was on point as well. Kudos to management for hiring employees like her. Atmosphere was nice.
I thought the food was amazing! Ordered the stuffed piña today and the molcajete with a lil bit of everything. Been here twice and have not been disappointed with the food. The staff has also been king :) and on Wednesdays they have Mariachis. FYI I'm Mexican
Excellent mariscos! We got a cóctel de camarón y pulpo and camarones mixto. Coctel was delicious with hearty shrimp and well cooked pulpo. El mixto had three types of camarones aguachiles and man those flavors and chiles had my mouth watering. The ambiance of the place fits where they’re from well and feels really authentic and close to home. The staff are really friendly, their smiles make you feel comfortable there ngl they were chill and welcoming. Overall, high approval!
What can I say. Amazing hostess and amazing food. All the way from Berkeley to be here. Great location, great , music, great customer service topped off with good food!!
A great well rounded venue:) Friendly staff and yummy tacos!
First time eating here food was good loved the salsa. There was a live band playing also. Great waiter as well.

Bomb.com! There food is delicious and worth it! They do not disappoint. I Love the shrimp and fish Ceviche💋
Joaquin is the best!! He always gets our order correct and is the best bartender! We continue to come back because he is awesome!!
The seafood options were amazing. The spicy shrimp and sauce placed perfectly in the fresh pineapple was full of flavors! Definitely add the cilantro and lime to the soup! The spicy Corona beers were a great touch! The beer tower was from another table but I just had to take a picture.
Came to la playita in concord and ate the best food.. our server Joaquin is amazing. I can’t believe he remembers all our orders without writing anything down. Best Mexican restaurant in concord.

This is a Mexican seafood joint for a party crowd loud music live marachi bands if you wanna drink this is your place you walk in the Bar is at the front door you wanna kinda eat and have conversation you try to sit in the back no guarantees you'll hear each other
This was my initial visit. The service was exceptional, and the seafood dishes were remarkably fresh and flavorful, entirely devoid of any undesirable odor, indicating the use of high-quality ingredients. However, upon entering the establishment, I noticed a distinct aroma reminiscent of a restroom, which I surmise may be attributed to the use of strong cleaning agents, possibly to counteract any potential fish odors.. I would try this place again and highly recommend to people who love Mexican seafood dishes.
The food was amazing! Great service too. We chose La Playita specifically because it was Cinco de Mayo. It's a family restaurant but the were small children claiming up the booths and jumping on them and neither the staff (management) nor the parents were doing anything about it.

Food was good, restaurant was clean, service was inconsistent and very slow. We were greeted promptly and provided with chips and drinks quickly, but service went down from that point. My friend ordered fajitas and they brought her meal, but forgot the tortillas she needed and it took at least 10 minutes to even flag a waitress down to get them. I had ordered one of the seafood cocktails for an appetizer and it arrived with my friends entrées, but no entrée for me. Again, we had to flag a waitress down to find out where my main meal was.
The service is slow. The chilequiles RED SUACE does not taste good and salty, as well as few plates I've had are also a bit salty for me. However, the drinks from the bar are great. Except, they don't have all the red wine they advertise.
Huge space, great for drinks and very solid Chile Verde. Bring your outside voice, you'll need it if you want to have any conversations.
I was craving carnitas so I stopped here to order a carnitas plate to go. Unfortunately the carnitas was really dry and unpleasant to eat.
Wow, it tasted like the refried beans were watered down. Just beans and water.. I eat Mexican food everywhere. I’ve never had refried beans taste like water.. the chili relleno is only 3.99,then the plate is 11.00. Boiled rice with coloring and refried beans that taste like water for another 7.00. The super burrito with pastor was good but they put way too much pico de Gallo. I won’t be going here again. Sat at the end of the bar in front of the server and she walked past me 6 times until I asked her if I can order. Poor customer service. But waaaaay worse beans and rice, the worst. 2 stars for the flavor of the pastor that’s all.
We visited Mariscos La Playita in Concord on a Sunday. The service was good, very attentive and friendly staff. There was live mariachi music, which gave the place a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. That said, if you’re not used to loud environments, you might prefer sitting toward the back of the restaurant, where it’s much quieter. As for the food, it was just okay. We ordered the shrimp a la Karky (I believe that was the name), and they were pretty watery. They might work better with a drier preparation, maybe something closer to shrimp a la piedra. We also had a shrimp and octopus cocktail, and it literally had just four shrimp in it—not what you’d expect. The tostada with shrimp and octopus was also a letdown. The octopus was overcooked, rubbery, and not properly cleaned. Honestly, it felt like whoever is in charge of the kitchen might not have much experience with seafood dishes. The quality of the food was quite poor overall. On the bright side, the atmosphere was lively, there’s plenty of parking. So while the ambiance and service were solid, the food definitely needs improvement, especially if they’re aiming to serve authentic, well-prepared seafood.

Watch your receipts when you go to pay. They don't give itemized receipts for the food you order. I ordered two wet burritos for dine-in for myself and my wife. When I went to pay, the waitress only printed a merchant receipt. I built the same order from their website as I did when I dined in on my phone right after we left the restaurant. It was 10.00 dollars higher. When I went back into the restaurant to request an itemized receipt, the waitress claimed she threw the receipt away.
This is a great restaurant and we come regularly. However it is cursed by its mariachi band. They are extremely loud and stand in one place next to the tables instead of moving around. It is impossible to have a conversation when they are around. The music is great but they need to turn down the volume.
The price was fine for the food but the tax was insane. The service rate was 18% for a table of 6 people and over and we were a table of 7 so our service rate was $20-$40. Plus tax so our tax in total was $50. The only food I would recommend in the fried fish and rice because everything else made my family's stomach hurt. The overall price for 7 drinks, 6 tacos, shrimp cocktail, 2 fajitas, and 2 tostada's was $270+.
This place is not good at all. It's almost insulting to us Latinos. They messed up my drinks. Which is okay, I really don't care about that. I think I ordered a Campechana, the flavors were not blended together. Seems like they just got a cup and threw in some seafood and added some clamato. It was very bland. I then ordered a taco, it was the weirdest taco I have ever seen in my life. I know this restaurant can do better. Just need a little bit of standards.

This restaurant recently changes their name . I sat at the booth by the podium in the front and a cockroach crawled on the wall then onto the table . Service was good for having an overworked waitress . The owners are cheap on employees, sanitation, and from what i saw in the dining area, id hate to see the kitchen .
I've been here twice now! Both times so unimpressed! The food is subpar.. (note: I'm 100% Mexican). When I say subpar, I mean the food is seriously BLAND. Like GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! BBQ at home and you will be much happier. The drinks suck. The service sucks The mariachi music... not worth the hype. There are better places with better food, better drinks and better service. Seriously! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! More importantly... the bartenders will look for ways to take advantage of you. We asked for the check after the servers severely lagged on service... they offered us shots, which we presumed were for the delay... they added those to our tab too.. and we didn't even ask for them. Look at the reviews below. Spend your money elsewhere! Should you decide otherwise... mark my word: "SUBPAR."
I would have given them 0 stars if able to do so. The restaurant was half empty and that should have given us a clue. The beans taste burned and the shrimp fajitas tastes as if they were freezer burned. Horrible quality and taste of food.
On top of being pricey their food is no good! Horrible experience with their shrimp cocktail! The shrimp was bad ! Wouldn’t recommend this place !!
Bad service, bad food, way too expensive for that food without flavor, too spicy, margaritas too sour and not tequila at all, save your trip and money going to that place! To be honest the only good thing are the chairs and tables!
I ordered molcajete frio the menu shows combination of sea food but went they brought the molcajete no legs crabs no mussels terrible but price some $33.00 I returned
We had them cater for New Years Eve..... got home with our food and 2 items were missing. When you are feeding people for a holiday this is the last thing you need to happen! Tried to call and there number is disconnected.
DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE ITS TERRIBLE WE ORDERED OYSTERS AND WHEN THEY BROUGHT THEM TO THE TABLE I NOTICED THAT THE SHELLS WERE BROKEN AND MY FRIEND WAS EATING ONE AND FOUND A PIECE OF THE SHELL INSIDE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE I CANT BELIEVE THEY SERVED US THAT. HORRIBLE FOOD AND I GAVE ONE STARS JUST CAUSE OUR WAITER GUILLERMO WAS SUPER SWEET BUT OTHER THAN THAT THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CHECK BY THE COUNTY SO THEY CAN SHUT IT DOWN

Absolutely the worst ever we ordered to go and I ask the waitress for queso and she said yes but when we got the order no queso so I asked again no big deal she yes yes cheese sauce and then charges me six dollars for a bag of chips and two cups of shredded cheese and a cup of what I swear was pace picante sauce I get the language barrier I have it myself but come on I know other people ask for queso and it’s even on the menu and the other food was mediocre and tasted like a frozen meal if not worse
Loud and expensive for what you get. Also server we had couldnt understand our request for straws with our drinks. Rediculous!! Wont be back!
