Easily one of, if not the best, Cheese Steak shops in the bay. The bread is top notch, the environment is great, and the service is always quick and prompt. Never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend the butterscotch krimpets for dessert!

Clean, friendly, perfectly cooked to order food what more can you ask for? This is my favorite Cheesesteak Shop location in the Bay Area - I’ve been to several (Castro Valley, Alameda, Richmond, and Vallejo). The dining room is always super clean. Service is friendly, accurate and quick. The cook here actually cares about making your order correctly and it tasting good. I hope the owner of this particular shop sees this reviews and lets his employees know what a great job they are doing at this particular location because they do a standout job every time, I love the consistency.

Book night means no wife at home tonight, I’m too tired to make something or sit down somewhere so I swing into this place just before 8. One guy walking out one guy waiting. By the time I roll in waiting guy got his bag of gold and rolls out in his minivan…place is empty now. I order a large hoagie with hot. It was $19 and change including 20% tip for a big juicy hoagie loaded with meat, cheese, lettuce tomato and plenty of peppers pickkled proper…This is the real deal, correct bread… I really enjoyed this and I still have half to heat up later. Go here, buy delicious food! This place should have a line out the door!

The food is amazing! But every time I have gone in here there is always a weird smell and it’s not pleasant. Nice customer service though!

This is the best cheese steak shop. They make their sandwiches fat. Love their onion rings

The people there are very patient with me especially since it was the last call. I end up switching from onion rings to french fries. Not good idea but I understand why they didn't put salt from the beginning. Make sure you ask for it just in case. But the food still good.

I'm never disappointed. The philly steak sandwich with onions and hot and sweet peppers is the go-to item. The dining area has TV with sports usually on. Soda machine with good selection and refills.

Wow, 1st time for me and the sandwiches were outstanding. Went there with my wife, asked her if this was a new place and she said it had been there for at least 15+ years! The place was pretty clean, looked liked it had recently been rehab'd. The folks behind the counter were on top of it and very friendly. I'll go there again...

I enjoyed the BBQ Philly cheese steak. delicious steak and the right amount of cheese. It even had bacon and was piping hot. The staff were great in answering questions and got my order out promptly. I also ordered fries which were nothing special but the cheese steak more than made up for it

The food is out of this word . The best . Amazing. Ever get order food but to get it and it looks nothing like the picture. Here it look 100 time better then pic. But for three Philly Kings and large order of zucchini sticks. It was 49 dollor plus change but I will say it's food was the best

If you're from Pennsylvania and want a true Philly steak sandwich, this is the place! All the other sandwiches I have tried in this area are too liquid, filled with the wrong cheese, and have no authentic cheese steak taste. The price is good, too, but there's no air conditioning in the restaurant, so go on a cool day or get take out.

Would have given 5 stars but they changed their menu and got rid of a few things i liked and their large size sandwich. A staple in the area for a long time though, and one of the best philly steak sandwiches ive had outside of Pennsylvania. Everything is made to order and not pre cooked. They make your fries fresh when you order them as well. They use bread from Philly and have tastycake for dessert as well. Good place to grab a bite and call ahead if you dont want to wait for them to cook your sandwich. They have a loyalty card to get free sandwiches as well.

This place had friendly people and excellent food. It's not cheap, but totally worth it. The portion was more than what I needed. Would highly recommend this place.

This place is good just not as good as it used to be. They changed the menu and got rid of some of the things I liked. I did try the cheesesteak fries recently and they were not very good. The fries by themselves were fine but the meat on them had almost no flavor or seasoning. I'll just stick to the cheesesteaks from now on.

Love love their Motown Philly with extra mushrooms and sweet peppers!! If they could just get the orders straight. 2xs in one day got the order wrong🤨😒,, they don't answere their phones which only makes it worse. So I call doordash and they reordered my sandwich with extra mushrooms n sweet peppers & chicken for my grandbaby,, they sent a plain sandwich with just cheese & still no chicken for my granbaby.. Great food, but BAD SERVICE!! I GUESS DOORDASH AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLACE AN ORDER!!??

Nice people, clean place, fast service, but the steak does not taste like a couple of years ago. Like 15 years ago I worked for the cheese steak shop in Walnut Creek, so I know what I talk about. I bought 2 different sandwiches with same sad result.

sub par meat like I'm not sure it's steak at all. the cheese was not real cheese either. Kraft singles is not real cheese. I think it's actually some chemical processed molecule that is closer related to plastic than cheese. I'm just saying if you are going to base your entire business around 2 ingredients maybe they should be of superior quality, not something I wouldn't even feed to my dog. I mean the price was top quality let's get some top quality food for that price point!

I gree up in Concord and have always stood by this shop as the best in CoCo. last few times here were a huge disappointment. Today ordered two Phlly Joe KINGS that were anything but. hardly enough cheese to make a regular, For sure did not get the xtra 50 percent more meat and cheese I paid for in either sandwich. Get it together guys..

Pretty good sandwich. I got the biggest option, which was the size of my forearm, and my friend who was with me got the small option. The sandwich itself was pretty tasty and if I was rating the business on sandwich alone it would get 4 stars. My biggest issue was the economics of the sandwich. The small sandwich option had practically the same amount of meat as my large option. If I had known they pack the small with meat and only go half full of large I would have ordered two small sandwiches.

This is the second time my girlfriend and I went there and they messed up on our order again. She ordered curly fries-we didn't get it. Last time,we ordered spinach on our sandwiches-we didnt get it. They don't repeat the order back to you. Its like you are bothering them and they just want you to leave already. Chicken tasted old,like the grill wasnt cleaned. Anyway,we are not going there again.

This place used to be great, not anymore! Over the years the price has doubled to what I used to pay for the same thing. I just went to get lunch and it took 20 mins for me to get my food. I only get a 30 min lunch for work so I had to shove the food down. They need more people working at lunch. The only good employee there is the guy who has been there for over 10 years. I don't care that they remodeled as it seems the business just wants to put on a pretty face and they are not concerned about customer satisfaction. I have been eating at Cheese Steak Shop for 20 years and today was the last day I will ever go. So sad to have it end like this...

I used to love this place. The last few times have been ok, but nothing special. Today was my last time. I won’t be back. I ordered thru Door Dash, 2 large, 1 with extra cheese and both with sweet peppers. One had 6 slices of pepper and the other 8. Not even enough to taste. The extra cheese had one very small piece of cheese, about the size of a quarter on one end of the bread! The meat was so dry I could barely swallow it. I added 2 slices of provolone, melted on the top, and it was edible. The one with regular cheese had a little cheese but same dried out meat. These things used to be so tasty, lots of peppers and melted gooey cheese throughout. After tax and tip I wasted $37. This place must be under new management because it’s not the place I’ve loved for over 10 years. I’m done.

The people are rude. Whomever is working right now, November 28th at 2:53pm hung up on my face, literally. The food is almost always incorrectly made. Customers do not decide where you work, YOU do. Please ensure your employees are getting the customer service training they need. If I didn’t think my food was going to be mishandled, I would’ve called back to get a name. Overall, I’ll never return to this location.

This place used to be good. I'm from NJ and I love cheesesteaks. The last bunch of times I got a sandwich here they tasted burnt. Saturday night's cheesesteak was the worst. Sadly I get my sandwiches to go so I could not send it back or get them to do it over. The problem is the part time cook doesn't clean the grill. That makes me wonder what else they don't clean. I already wrote them on 9/20/21 and received no response. Their response is an insincere effort to pretend they care.

Ordered and picked up gave me wrong order got home. Called them 6 times to let them know my order was wrong and they hung up on me. After driving all the way back my order was sitting there. Getting cold. No discount ! Rude. Food was cold, steak was over cooked and fries were burnt to a crispy. Completely disappointed and disgusted. Won’t be coming back such a waste of food and money (45$ )

I've been going here since I was a teenager and its always been yummy. Tonight it was beyond discussing, the "meat" on both sandwiches was what they scrape off the grill, my friend and I both almost puked. I wont be going there EVER again. So unsettling. 😭

Both sandwiches were crushed on one end. The bread was dry and stale. The joke is on us because we spent $30 for two sandwiches that we picked up, not delivered. *UPDATE* 3/18/25 I emailed you on 3/16/25 at the address you gave and there’s been no response.

I used to like this place. The quality of the sandwich is gone way down. It tastes like they're freezing the meat and then defrosting it. The meat simply doesn't taste fresh or have a fresh texture. They're using less cheese which doesn't help. Overall the sandwich has a very bland taste I think the ingredients have been changed because the meat doesn't taste like ribeye.

The workers are great, but the AC is non existent in the front of the restaurant. It's a little cooler in the back, but why do the workers have to be sweating over our food!!! Pls fix the AC so everyone is comfortable.

I never received a smiling face not one time going into this location. I’m not sure why but I have came to this Philly shop two times. The first time I ordered two meals with half sandwiches I paid about $40 for the two meals once I opened the package. The sandwich could fit into the palm of my hand and I’m a 5 foot 3 woman, but it was pretty good so I did not complain. The second time I went I decided to get two large sandwiches I paid about $30 for those. The sandwiches were pretty good but for $30 that’s $15 a sandwich they were very very thin. I just feel the prices could be lower or they could put more meat on the sandwiches and have more smiling faces for the price that we pay as customers. I hope this helps someone.

Person that took our order was rude and curt; sandwich makers were not much better when delivering food to counter. Again, don't waste your time or money, go someplace good.

I get my order leave for some reason I stopped almost home which is on the opposite side of town. They gave me someone else's stuff simple as that. They asked what I ordered I told her and gave her my receipt. She begins to argue with me about what it is and called mind you it isn't even my order I can give a dam. Over and over she keeps having me explain my shelf. Never ever looking or making another or any thing just created an episode in the restaurant I was totally humiliated and demanded my money back at which Every employee in the establishment started threatening me screaming at me to leave not even giving me my money. Threatening me like I'm a convict. Any way got my money, still hungry came next store to Barney's Hickory Pit . Spent twice as much and I am righting this while eating my Ribs .
