Cozy restaurant, a little on the pricier side, but the food and service are well worth it. We had the french onion soup, baguette, and cheese board and all three were delicious. The soup came with lots of cheese melted on top. The bread tasted very fresh and was crunchy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. The cheeses were all very good and came with more bread and some fruit that complimented them. Our server was very friendly and personable, he had a "warm" energy about him that added to the coziness of the atmosphere!
Highly recommend this place! Make sure to make reservations as they can get packed quickly. We went on a Saturday night and they had a sign outside that they are unable to take walk-ins. Sean was our server and just wanted to give him a shoutout. He was friendly and attentive to us throughout our dinner. We ordered their 3 cheese charcuterie which was amazing, especially the jam. We also ordered the onion soup, again, amazing and not too overpowering like what I've had from other places. I got their burger, sub with truffle fries, and it comes with the raclette service where they come to your table to put the cheese on your dish. It's an additional $10 if you want that on any dish you order. My fiance got the french beef dip and was happy with his entree as well. For drinks, we ordered their non-alcoholic sparkling wine, Tost and that was good as well. For dessert, they gave a complimentary piece of cake for my partner's birthday and that was also delicious. Plus we ordered their Parisian Hot Chocolate & creme brulee because why not? Hands down one of the best creme brulee we've had. The hot chocolate was also rich and I didn't need the whipped cream, which they also give you if you want it. We will definitely come back and try their brunch menu next time. Overall, had an amazing experience/night at this place. Parking may be difficult, but we got lucky and didn't spend too much time looking for parking.
Incredible experience as always. This review encompasses both brunch and the dinner we had the night before last. Thank you Jesse, Daniel, Jackie and Janice for delicious food and wine choices and for your impeccable service. The short rib beef bourguignon is superbly cooked, just melts. Have it as a hash the next morning! Do not skip the escargot. It is the real deal with just the right amount of herby/garlicky taste. Thanks so much! We will be back! (Save room for the grand marnier soufflé too)
We ordered one of the Picnic Baskets for our 16th Anniversary. The ordered food ran out but we were amazed at the Managers solution which included us being treated to a glass of champagne while waiting. The food was excellent and the basket was perfectly thought out. What a great experience for our special night! We will be going back for another dining adventure.
Cozy, accommodating, friendly and so delicious! Came for dinner, and the lights dimmed at 6p and made for a really beautiful atmosphere. I came with a group of friends and the hostess brought a stand to our table with hooks for our purses so we didn’t have to put them on the ground or table. Our server was so bubbly and sweet and had great recommendations. I had the beef bourguignon and it was PERFECTLY cooked and very generously portioned for a family style dinner. I also had their viral hot chocolate a few weeks ago and it was a unique experience and soo delicious.
It is a lovely place with great service, pleasant atmosphere and delicious food. While it felt elevated it wasn't overpriced. I ordered from a prix fix menu and thought it was a well portioned and great value meal. My main course was the trout dish which was both healthy and flavorful and the carrot chips on it were outstanding. Our server was Kimber who was very welcoming and attentive. Jacky, the manager also stopped by our table and made sure we were having a wonderful time, she was a delight. Highly recommend!
We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Every dish was well presented and tasted even better than expected. The service was attentive, friendly, and professional without being intrusive. The staff made us feel welcome from start to finish, and everything arrived on time. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.
Little Frenchie truly lives up to its name. From the moment we arrived, they made my Frenchie-mix Leo feel like the guest of honor. He was immediately greeted with a treat and a bowl of water without us even asking, which completely won us over. The food was absolutely delicious, but the hot chocolate deserves special praise—rich, cozy, and perfect for a relaxed morning. The patio atmosphere was charming and welcoming, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. It’s rare to find a place that makes both humans and pups feel so genuinely cared for. Leo gives it two paws up, and we’ll definitely be back.
Amazing Amazing Amazing. The Best Hot Chocolate I have ever had. Service was friendly and helpful. We saw this croissant on Instagram amd have been waiting to try this for at least a year. The hot chocolate was rich velvety and delicious. They poured it into our croissant and it soaks into the middle for an Incredible experience. They serve it with real whipped cream on the side and it was definitely worth the wait. Would go back tomorrow for another. Nice wine and champagne lists cheese plates and an amazing looking burger I saw being delivered and then they scraped fresh melted chees onto it from a giant wheel. Definitely going back to try that.
Absolutely worth the hype. If you haven’t been yet, summer is the perfect excuse. Little Frenchie continues to impress, from the atmosphere to the food to the service. Shout-out to Alex, our server, who was attentive without being intrusive and did a great job pacing the meal. Everything came out at just the right time, and we never felt rushed. We started with the Niçoise salad, which was bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced—crisp greens, tender tuna, and just the right amount of acidity to keep it light for a warm day. The Duck Confit Hash was rich but not heavy, with crispy potatoes and deeply flavorful duck that pulled everything together. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were a standout—light, fluffy, and refreshing, with a subtle citrus note that felt made for summer. For something savory, the Salmon Tartine was beautifully done: fresh fish, well-seasoned, and layered on excellent bread with thoughtful textures throughout. Portions were satisfying, flavors were balanced, and nothing felt overly heavy or sweet. Little Frenchie consistently delivers quality and care in every detail. Already looking forward to the next visit.
Brunch at Little Frenchie feels less like a meal and more like a tiny Parisian vacation you didn’t know you needed. We started with the short rib skillet, and it immediately set the bar impossibly high: fall-apart tender beef smothered in melted raclette, roasted peppers, crispy potatoes underneath, and a flawlessly poached egg crowning the whole thing. Rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced — every bite felt like it was made by someone who actually cares. Then came dessert, and honestly… the stuffed hot chocolate croissant should come with a warning label. Flaky, buttery layers hiding warm Valrhona-style chocolate, paired with fresh strawberries and vanilla whipped cream — it wasn’t dessert, it was therapy. The dining room has that effortless European bistro vibe that makes you slow down and enjoy being exactly where you are. Service was warm, genuine, and unpretentious. Little Frenchie isn’t just great brunch — it’s the kind of place that reminds you how good life can taste when you let yourself enjoy it. Highly recommend.
Just had to check this restaurant out when we visited here in San Diego simply because the wife and I (and now the kids) simply love hot chocolate. Smooth, velvety and decadent hot chocolate inside a croissant. I can't remember where I saw this place from on social media but it is simply worth it if you visit the area, especially if you enjoy a cuppa of chocolate and french pastries.
Well worth the hype!! If you haven't gone yet, what are you waiting for....it's hot chocolate weather!! Highly recommend Little Frenchie, great service. (thank you Kimber) She really anticipated our needs, coursed out our food. All the food was amazing, nice portions and nothing was overly sweet. If you can believe that, after looking at these pictures of the hot chocolate croissant and bruleed French toast. The Bruleed French Toast, aka toasted bread pudding was amazing! The Grand Marnier really helped balance the sweetness of the maple syrup. The Caviar Eclair was nice and petite perfect amount of indulgence. The sprinkle of lemon zest on the top really made the caviar sing. The Croquet Monsieur was very decent and traditional, definitely recommend up grading to the fries! Will definitely be back!
We came here for the hot chocolate and a butter croissant. Overall, highly recommend! This was some of the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had, with the chantilly cream, it was great. The croissant was pretty good too, nothing special but a butter croissant. Good luck finding parking, and highly recommend making a reservation! There’s plenty of room outside and inside, we had heaters outside and it was pretty cozy.
RECOMMENDATION - We will be back. Loved it and will bring back friends. - Would recommend coming for lunch. - 1:30pm on a Friday 4 adults and a baby. We sat outside. VALUE - $199 + 20% tip - 5/5 - worth it. We ordered- - French dip x2 - 5/5 - prob the best French dip I’ve had in 20 yrs. The two others who also had it also rated it 5/5. - le Burger - 4.7/5 - with the egg over easy. “Amazing” when he took his first bit he said, “This may be the best burger I’ve ever had.” - Short rib hash - 3/5 “too many mushrooms, not a lot of flavor. Short rib was very good though.” - Cronut - 3/5. I’m a HUGE cronut fan. I’d say this was my least fav. It was a decent choice, the raspberry filling was very tasty. I just like my cronut to be more airy and flaky. - Spiral croissant - 5/5. This is the one they pour hot chocolate hot. We just pulled it apart and dipped it ourselves. Delish. - Chocolate dipped peppermint Spiral croissant. We haven’t eaten yet. But it was the spiral croissant from above, but dipped. - Hot chocolate - 5/5. Very thick, like melted chocolate with cream. - Whip cream. 4/5. I like mine a bit sweeter. But it was very good. PORTION SIZE- 5/5 As expected. Large. Three of us wanted to split a French dip, so we ordered 2. We didn’t need to do that. They’re big. SERVICE- 5/5 Veronica was a delight. She did a great job. Bus staff was also helpful and prompt. ATMOSPHERE - 4/5 As expected. Smallish inside area. 8 tables outside.
Been here a few times already and everytime has been consistent in quality and service. The service is extremely nice and gives frequent checks and the food has been really good every single time. I recently got the hot chocolate and its extremely indulgent, definitely meant to be shared. I personally do not like it in the croissant (a little gimmicky for me) to drink from but that does not take away from the quality of both products. Its on the pricey side but worth the money. The baked goods are always exceptional so definitely get at least one to try.
This is one of my parentsfavorit in Coronado. The plates are big and the fix menú was great! I order Burgundy Escargots (ok) the jardine salad was below my expectations that my wife orderd, the stake frite with an upgrade to filet mignon (which i prefera bit more raw), and my favorit the profiteroles! Sorry, i did not take picturesof my food!
Food: fairly priced and delicious. We ordered the escargot, French onion soup, and the half French dip sandwich. The escargo was served in the shell and piping hot. Maybe it was a time of day, but we got served with the hot food within a very short amount of time. Our server, Veronica,, was wonderful. Would definitely come back!
My Chef grandmother’s new favorite restaurant! We stayed in coronado for 3 days, and visited 3 times - twice for breakfast, and once for dinner. Great food, great ambience, great service with lovely employees. Our favorites for breakfast were the French toast & herb omelette, as well as the jardin salad and duck salad for dinner. Their desserts were also delicious - we had the crème brûlée that came with shortbread cookies (so yum that we bought some to take home with us), as well as the profiterole that rivaled ones we’ve had in Paris! Our final time visiting, our waitress Veronica was especially helpful and kind! Thank you Little Frenchie for completing our Coronado experience!
Little Frenchie is a MUST when in Coronado! Their dishes are far from ordinary and true culinary sensations! If you are a carnivore and lover of cheese, their burger is also a MUST! Ee eat there again and again, and have never been disappointed! Ne sure to add your comments on their passport when the bill comes! Reservations highly recommended, as the restaurant does fill up!
Food was okay, my french frys were cold but cheese smothered it before I could say anything. Out of cronuts and cruffins :( But had the valrhona chocolate with whipped chantilly cream service, fun and tasty (worth the cost) parking is like everywhere now, nonexistent!!!
Not bad but not great. Disappointed that neither the steak frites, either the hangar steak version or the ny strip regular menu version were not available but we were offered an off menu premium cut for "$80 or $90" Everything ordered was good but not memorable. I should have ordered the burger or French dip.
I tried to head over to Little frenchie today with my husband (who is from France!) after seeing this place on TikTok. We were very excited for the pasties and European hot chocolate. Unfortunately, we didn’t even get the opportunity to try. Despite having many empty tables (inside and outside), they kept telling us they were completely booked and unable to accommodate us. We went to Parakeet down the block (and had a very mid breakfast lol) for like 45-1hr, walked back towards Little Frenchie, and still saw many empty tables (see photo). I’m very disappointed in the way the staff handles the seating at this restaurant and will likely not give it another chance. I give up on TikTok restaurant recommendations. They also have a B Health rating.
