The Red Jug in Cortland is a staple for the college bar scene. During the night hours it's always packed. Live music, good drink specials (including their mug group). As well as decent service. Even draws a decent crowd in the summer months.

If you're not into dancing and just like going to bars where you just hang out and drink, this is probably the best bar for that especially for the college students. When I went to school up there I always went there either first or second because there are other bars that have dancing which I liked doing. It can get pretty packed on the weekends but still a good bar

One of the best college bars in town, it's got a taxi service, darts, A pool table, and good daily deals for the locals. Plus a house challenge to drink complete a drink $32 (which has approx. 7-10 shots of one or more liquors and ice) for a T-shirt. They also have a different T-shirt for every day of the week so good luck! P.s. The lack of perfect rating is do to the tight quarters of the bar which restricts use of pool table, darts, and causes a longer wait for the bathroom.

Not the best service if you're a guy. Also, it's sometimes over packed. Miss the pool table. But on low volume nights, it's a chill place to hang with friends and play some darts. They have live music sometimes too. Don't mind jug at all. Also. They have the jug van Which is nice for the safty of others.

I did a t-shirt challenge here, I drank 4 vodka lemonades and got my choice of a t-shirt on the wall. It was roughly 30 bucks to do the challenge, so I doubt it was much of a deal. The drinks were delicious and the service was good. I went on a Saturday around St. Paddys Day so there was a live Celtic band there. It got pretty crowded for a weekend with no college students in town and the music was too loud to really have a conversation. I believe there was a pool table near the entrance and they had a bouncer to make sure everyone was of age.

Would not recommend if you are over 21. They have no problem serving underage people. I don't want to go to a bar and have 16 to 20 year olds drinking around me. Extremely annoying and illegal. I left after one drink and so many girls telling me they are under 20.

Place smells like an indoor swimming pool with too much chlorine in it. Same muggy feel too. There are better looking, cleaner, places literally within walking distance. I really don't understand its popularity.

The BEST place for underaged drinking and fights in town. The bartenders AND the owners just don't care. The Police care, but that's it. I'd go somewhere else.

Congratulations....my 1st review ever! 2 bartenders....6 customers, and my wife and I stand there waiting for a drink. You both keep chit chatting with your buddies and disregard everyone else. I do believe you're getting paid to do a job. I'd get fired from my job for performance like that. You need a little old school customer service training. $500 in my pocket, with plans of spending it all there as we had friends coming. I'm glad you only got $4 from me.

The Bar fails to follow proper protocols. They should fire their current bouncer. Does not properly scan IDs upon entry into the bar, denying service to those who are older than 21. This establishment does not treat customers fairly. I would stay far away and recommend the owner hires a new bouncer that is competent at the job.
