They have..or had so many hot sauces to buy there..the viper is good .. 😊 great place ..I moved back to ventura but that's the place to get some heat !!!
Great place. Food always consistently good and always go at least once while visiting. Coyote special burrito is a go to and is very large.
I had the lime steak burritos, they were the best steak burritos I have ever had. The rice is also great.
Amazing tacos! Had the Southwest style with carnitas. Seriously good. Now my go to sit when I'm in the neighborhood. Sweet people who work there too. Good vibe.
Such a great place! I've been going since I was 8 with my dad and the food and atmosphere is always great. A little pricey, but so is everything in the area. I recommend the nachos, the cheese and bean burrito, and the enchiladas. I don't recommend the horchata, as it's way too sweet
Been coming here over 20 years and it’s been consistent every time, perhaps cause many employees have been cooking there that long! Great, yummy tacos, and my favorite lime steak burrito! Will always come back for great Mexican food!! FYI, I hot sauce is very hot! No picture, I ate it immediately 😋
UPDATE: You don't really know how good the food is until you try the same dish at different restaurants. I've had the shrimp burrito at different places, but Coyote's shrimp burrito has a LOT more flavor and makes me come back again and again. Son still enjoys their super nachos with steak and my husband still loves their chicken fajitas. Whenever we want Mexican food, this is where we go. #################### My family loves the food here. I don't know why it took so long to try their food! My son loves their nachos with steak, I love the shrimp burrito, and my husband loves their chicken fajitas. We need to change things up but it's hard to pick something other than what you start craving for. Free chips and yummy salsa.
An amazing and very reasonably priced Mexican restaurant. Their lime steak burrito and nachos are incredible. There are also many other options from quesadillas to fajitas and several vegetarian options as well. Not to mention they have some very good tortilla chips. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere with its colorful walls and nice outdoor seating area. On top of this, all the employees are very friendly.
Must have Food ... I love burritos and tacos ... we all do right? This place offers new and fresh taste to it I’ve had so much Mexican food in my life still this place gives me something new when i go there (I’ve visited the place 4-5 times) i am new local and this is no a brainer first choice for quick hungry decisions
Gristle-free meat, delicious chips (my favorite ever), and really spicy hot sauce makes me happy! FYI, no refried beans here but I love black beans. Their shrimp is tasty and they have a few unique burrito flavors.
This is our go-to Mexican restaurant; we eat there or get takeout about once a week. It’s more of a taqueria than a sit-down restaurant (order at the counter, kitchen is right behind the counter, no wait staff). The food is great and the burritos are big enough that you’re full, but not too stuffed after finishing one. The tortilla soup is good and the variety of burritos is larger than usual.
Needed to feed my plumbing repair crew nearby, so stopped at Coyote and got several burritos and large sweet orchatas. The carne asada was really good, and so too was the pollo asado - the super size burritos were substantial and the crew was stuffed - no seconds needed. The chips were fresh. The Coyote crew put the to-go order together very quickly, and we're friendly and courteous. Good place for good food.
This is our go to restaurant for a quick Mexican lunch/dinner. The nachos with steak are a family favorite. We order their white fish plate often. It is very light. They make a great Cobb salad in a wrap, which is fabulous. Their burritos are yummy too. Prices are decent and the kitchen team is helpful. We don’t always get what we order. Better check what you got before you leave the place with your takeouts...
i LOVE this place! i live in the east bay and whenever i’m in the area i visit sometimes multiple times during my stay. my issue: today i spent $33+ on three burritos and was given a half of a bag of tortilla chips. i understand this is an added bonus to the meal; however, when i asked for additional chips to accompany THREE burritos, i was told no, that i needed to actually purchase more chips as the manager would have an issue with giving more chips. i find this to be a little absurd, as chips would come with each burrito had i purchased them separately. i was advised to call the manager to speak to him/her about the policy. the employee acted if i was incompetent and incapable of purchasing chips. the actions of the employee was a turn off to wanting to go back to the restaurant. *** would’ve emailed the manager directly vs seeming to complain about something as silly as chips; however no email address was available online***
To start out with the positives or neutral comments. The location is in a convenient place. The burrito I ordered was not what I was expecting from a place like that. It was more like chipotle. Into the negatives. The chips were oily and tasted a bit off and salsa was watery. The burrito I ordered, the first bites I had contained large pieces of cartilage and other chewy bits that were not meat. The last few bites had a distinct taste of char. I am not impressed and will probably not go back.
Opposite of customer friendly practices. Insist on getting an itemized receipt, they will have charged you one dollar for that tiny half an oz container of salsa, and when you say you weren’t aware they would charge because you have been a customer for years, they will try to explain to you why you are wrong. Sure some restaurants have had a tough time, but when you have jacked up your prices 40% in a couple of years, then you don’t get to behave this way.
Unfortunately we will not return. Charging $10 to add cilantro and onion to 9 tacos is crazy.
Beware!!! I’m a VERY POSITIVE reviewer and very rarely do I go out of my way to leave a bad review but the way I felt this place scammed and tried to justify it needs to be addressed. We ordered 3 burritos. It was about 30 min from close so we felt it would be more respectful to get our food to go and eat at our hotel with our children rather than keeping them late. Simple requests for the 3 burritos like no rice and sour cream on the side and finalized our order with a large order of chips and salsa which comes with 3 salsas. Then asked if they had plates to go. So simple right!!! Now this is where it all went south. When ringing things up my husband watched him add a random $1.50 charge. When asking for a receipt his machine now can’t produce one. He says we can walk around to see the charges. I asked what the $1.50 charge was and he said it’s for chips and salsa. I then showed him the $3.50 for the chips and salsa so he said TAXES! I showed him where the taxes are standard and showed it was a miscellaneous $1.50. NO ANSWER!!! So we just ignore it and try to move past it like it’s $1.50 but this felt weird. Why can’t you explain charges you charged??? My husband then asked for some salsa for the burritos and he started to argue that he already gave us salsa. The salsa he gave us was the salsa we paid for with the chips which comes with 3 containers. We then asked when you order burritos if you get salsas and the man said NO. Now we are just baffled. You don’t get salsa with a burritos!!!!!!! He said we had to pay for it if we wanted more. Ummmmm noooooo At this point the man behind the counter was trying to take advantage of us and stated that this is a very expensive place to live so things cost more. If that’s the case then charge more don’t add charges you can’t explained and argue when customers ask for simple requests like salsa for a burrito. I don’t like to argue so I told him to put my food in the bag so we could leave. We took the $5 tip we left back. Just to make it very clear I live in Las Vegas and I understand when people take advantage of tourists. Your business should understand that if you don’t have saturated customers you won’t have a successful business. DONT EAT HERE!!!!
Just ordered 3 steak tacos Mexican style and they were honestly the worst tacos I've ever had. The tortillas were greasy and soggy and the meat tasted like it came from a can. I couldn't even finish the tacos. I will never come back here. If I could I would have gave less than 1 star. Stay away from this place.
I ordered 3 tacos Al pastor and a small horchata. The Indian guy says we don’t have that, just steak chicken and carnitas. Ok … no al pastor? I heard him say $40 so I asked how much? $14. Ok. (But wait, that’s some expensive basic Mexican style tacos that only come with meat and some green salsa) I thought that was bbq carnitas. My bad. Hmm ok steak please. All 3 were over cooked meat and the corn tortillas were not even heated up properly. When I bent them, they cracked down the middle. Then to top it off they tasted like they were cooked right after some fish. Ugh! Bad bad experience. I won’t be back!
