Chobop All You Can Eat Sushi in Costa Mesa receives high praise for its excellent service and delicious food. While most customers enjoyed the experience, one reviewer reported food poisoning. Another reviewer mentioned a discrepancy with the AYCE premium offering.
Tip: Consider trying the AYCE premium option for dinner, but be aware of potential inconsistencies.

Best sushi place. Very friendly staff and high quality sushi and rolls. Love their sweat shrimp. Unless you get there early when they open you have to wait for a while. Update: they moved to bigger place on Harbor and it is easier to get seat but still have to wait depending on the time of the day. Still recommend this place.
This is one of the best AYCE sushi in OC. The carpaccio portion and quality is impressive.
I’m always skeptical about sushi “deals” however this one ABSOLUTELY beat all my prior experiences. This sushi was actually premium!!! Everything tasted fresh, soft & flavorsome. My kids and I will find an excuse to return. Enjoy!
Five stars across the board! Awesome AYCE option. The sushi was great, very fresh! The fish to rice ratio is perfect (as some AYCEs tend to give too much rice). All of the hot plates are also very tasty. Rolls were stuffed with fish! Definitely my go to for all you can eat in the area!
We passed by here all the time and have always wanted to try it here and I’m so glad we did! The service was probably the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant, everyone was extremely polite and helpful. The menu is pretty big, but not overwhelming! There was music playing in the background that wasn’t too loud, but wasn’t too quiet, it was very clean inside the restaurant overall! We came here on a Friday around dinner time, and it was not busy at all. I will definitely come back, especially because the cost is not crazy expensive and it was pretty quick to get food out so you don’t feel too full too fast. Overall, if you want really good sushi at all, you can eat you need to stop here!
I heard you were looking for a good AYCE sushi spot? Look no further @thechobop follow @no0delle for more food recs 𝜗𝜚⋆₊˚ The Chobop 📍2340 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 If you’re looking for a new AYCE sushi spot in oc, definitely check Chobop out. Only 10 mins away from South Coast Plaza and BoothbyBryant🙈 From the moment we stopped in, everyone was so helpful and efficient. It only took a couple minutes for the food to arrive and everything was served fresh. The fish was super fresh and good quality, especially for an all you can eat place. I feel like a lot of places usually skimp out a little on popular prices like salmon, but their salmon was actually to die for. They also had a bunch of hot food that i had trouble deciding on. Literally so many choices, but I’m glad we got to try their karage, spicy tuna on crispy rice, and one our serve recommended, shrimp pops. It was so good and the serving size was perfect since you don’t wanna get full from the sides. Will definitely be visiting again, and you should too 💛⋆˙⟡♡ Order info ‧₊˚ 𓐐𓎩 ₊˚⊹♡ 🌟 Matcha lemonade 🌟 Strawberry lemonade 🌟 Alaskan roll 🌟 Submarine roll 🌟 Salmon sushi 🌟 Salmon belly sushi 🌟 Yellowtail sushi 🌟 Albacore sushi 🌟 Karage 🌟 Spicy tuna on crispy 🌟 Shrimp pop 🌟 12 piece chefs set (sashimi) (Premium AYCE) more info - ⭐️5/5 💰2/5 ($) 🅿️ free lot ⏰11:30-2:30PM & 5-10PM Weekdays, 11:30-10PM Fri&Sat, 12-9PM Sun 👥 staff are friendly and fast
Really good sushi here. The names for their rolls are pretty clever and funny. The sushi does not take a long time after you order, given it was a weekday. The service was good and if you pay with cash you get a 5% discount. I will be coming here again.
Fantastic - Friendly and Fresh. I had 3 hours to kill before my flight out of John Wayne airport. Stopped in at 5pm. Lance was super friendly. Food was fresh. They gave out 2-3 samples of tempura. I will be back on my next trip to SNA. Give them a try.
Sushi Imari the Japanese restaurant is one of the best I love it! I love all their rolls, sushi, and sashimi and their service is very good as well. Since this is a small restaurant you might have to wait in line for dinner on weekends, but it's a worth a waiting because of the food and their servers are happy to serve their customers. Always I'm please to be their. I would definitely recommend to my friends.
Excellent lunch! Fish was so fresh. Enjoyed the bento box as well. Visiting from out of state. First visit was so good, we had to come back again before leaving.
Tasty, and very quick, friendly service. I got a chef's choice mix for lunch. I can't recommend the ice cream particularly though. It was an ok strawberry ice cream, but nothing special. Maybe their specialties are better.
There are many sushi places, but it's hard to find a place that brings a fresh sushi daily. This place won me over for life. The staff are amazing and the food is excellent.
My absolute 💯 favorite sushi place. I have been coming to this spot for years Even before it was Imari. As Imara, it has proved to get better over time. The best service as well.
Kudo's to Sushi Imari! Our hostess/waitress/ manager was a one-woman multi-tasking wonder. She was so friendly and helpful. My son and I had the three-roll special with miso soups. After the soup, she brought us complimentary onion rings in a tempura batter. Fabulous! When the rolls arrived, they looked spectacular (Wango Mango Roll, Rainbow Roll and Red Hot Chili Roll). We had forgotten to tell her that my son was allergic to eggs. They redid two of the rolls substituting spicy tuna for the crabmeat and not putting Imari sauce (which she brought on the side for me and was delicious) on the Wango Mango. All three rolls were amazing - but we both agreed that the Wango Mango was exceptional. If I could give them more stars, I really woula because even as were leaving, our waitress asked if we wanted a to-go drink to take with us. Awesome experience - all the way around! Thank you Sushi Imari!
Surprised how good this spot is. It’s a larger restaurant and they can turn over tables quick. Have a huge staff and wait times are short. You don’t really get the same experience as a smaller spot like getting to talk to the chef if sitting at the bar. But the fish is all very fresh. Have tried many items from the toro to the Uni and it’s always fresh. Good price to for sushi. If your looking for a more intimate experience then I would not recommend. But as far as the food and fish is concerned it’s a great spot.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere. The fish tasted pretty fresh and the spicy tuna had a good kick to it. The rolls had interesting names too. The only bad experience I had was that it was freezing outside and since the front door is a bit messed up and doesn't close properly I almost froze to death while waiting for a table. Also, the salmon skin roll is kind of a bad idea. They're very generous with the things they bring out on the house, though, so that definitely bettered my mood. The ice cream at the end was amazing.
My go-to sushi place. Frequented over a dozen times now and quality is consistent. Has a cozy feel and friendly wait staff. Wait time of up to 50 minutes for large groups (7-8 people) due to how small the restaurant is; this is the only drawback to me. Considerably shorter wait if you're okay sitting at the sushi bar. Price is reasonable. You get a 5% discount if paying in cash. The food is delicious. I've never left Imari unsatisfied.
The go-to sushi spot for my girlfriend and I. No frills, just good service and good food! And I love how they bring out a complimentary appetizer, so come hungry or take that into account when deciding to order!! Love this place!
The presentation was less impressive this time but the fish tastes just as good and fresh as before. This is my new go to place for sushi. I came at 6 and still plenty at room at the sushi bar. Food was served quickly n the staff were super attentive and friendly. Awesome place to hang out with friends/family
What a gem! Had to go to Costa Mesa for a work conference and discovered this place (thanks to other reviews), and it did not disappoint from service to the food!!! We started with some nigiri pieces. The rice and the fish were prepared with care. The aburi salmon belly just melted in our mouths. A table next to us, who seemed to be loyal & frequent customers ordered 50 pieces! Then we proceeded to bento lunches (such great value) and ate until our hearts content. Great combos from teriyaki, udon, karage (perfectly fried juicy pieces of chicken) and donkatsu to sushi rolls, nigiri and sashimi combos as well. Everyone from the chefs, service members and other customers were happy and laughing during our meals. This was a tough meal to beat since every other business lunch and dinner afterwards seemed to pale in comparison. Our friends went back before their flights instead of free lunches provided by the convention.
Great food and perfect service from Joyce. Our waitress kept bringing us free appetizers! Rolls are creative and delicious. We got so caught up talking about work, we lost track of time and stayed past closing time. We never got shooed or ushered out. Definitely a place I'd go back to.
Was craving sushi Friday night and I’d never been here even though it’s around the corner from my house—oh my! Was I happy to experience this meal! The fish was so flavorful fresh and delicious—and really reasonable prices—I can’t wait to introduce my friends to this gem!
Love this place. Fresh, delicious seafood, great rolls. Staff is super nice. Small and fills up fast at both lunch and dinner. Parking can be a challenge now that Audi has taken over most of the complex.
Good food long wait.... unless you come before the doors open and write your name on the list. They go in order and there are about 6-10 seats inside as well as the sushi bar. Food was delicious and lots of specials on the board. Service was attentive and subtly try to get you out for the long line of people waiting. =) So don't dilly dally too much so other can enjoy the experience.
Discovered this place (while they were at their old location) years ago back in college. Since they recently moved to a standalone restaurant, the size has more than doubled and the food and service is still as great as ever. Their complimentary dishes are a huge +1 whenever you have a group.
My favorite sushi place in OC. Excellent food and service. They are great about hosting large groups too. Super hard to do but they make it look easy. We made their IG page twice now!
Moving to SoCal from Vancouver in Canada the one thing I’d been searching for was some amazing sushi as were truly spoiled up there. After over a year of trying new places last night I finally got a taste of similar quality, freshness and overall satisfaction. This place is AMAZING. Their sushi is fresh, tasty and they have some pretty funny roll names. When I pulled up it was very busy with 6 parties in front of us but the line moved pretty quickly and we were eating in no time. Definitely try this place out!
Boyfriend and I went to Sushi Imari on a Monday for dinner at 6pm and there was no wait. When we went in, we were greeted with the host who was also busy with take out orders but they were very efficient in getting us seated. We ordered the Fire cut roll, a Tempura Udon with two pieces of shrimp tempura, garlic edamame, and chicken teriyaki rice bowl. Miso soup was part of the meals we ordered and they gave us complimentary gyoza (uhh .. score! Thank you to Sushi Imari for giving it to us 😊!!) Service is quick and great, food is delicious and we enjoyed our time there. They take your temperature when they seat you and wear masks. The tables are separated by dividers so you won't see the neighboring table. All of that around $40 with an Asahi! We are new fans of this restaurant and will definitely come back! 😊
Very nice people and great service. Owner came by and gave my son a house special salmon for free. Super cool people
I went here for the first time on my birthday on June 4, and it was really delicious. Then we returned on Sunday, Father’s Day, and the food was even better and the service was outstanding. I think the owner of her name is Judy, she is very nice and took care of us. Even though we got there late, she still took our orders and did everything she could to help us get them Before they closed. I just wanna say if you are in this area and are looking for all you can eat sushi, stop in here. It is delicious and we had excellent service both times we went. I do live far away from this place, but every time we go to the beach, we will probably stop in here for sushi. You won’t go wrong.!
If you’re a sushi lover, this is a must-visit spot. Their all-you-can-eat menu even includes uni ( 1 pcs ) and scallops, which is rare and absolutely worth it.
Great place for sushi lovers: their scallops are awesome!
This is Sushi Imari's lunch special!! Perfect for the hungry vegetarian! My choice of options was Tofu salad, avocado roll, and grilled asparagus. Came with rice, miso, and another small side salad! Yay! Staff here is always so in kind and generous. So lucky to have them close by. They also have a pretty amazing vegetarian roll called the Shrek Roll. It does have cheese in it. Wished they had another house specialty roll that was vegan - besides the avocado and cucumber roll.
If you haven't been... Why? So delicious, service is amazing! I left stuffed and happy!!!
Awesome food great price, wonderful people working there
Great AYCE sushi spot! Quality sushi, nice presentation, big menu and great service! And cheap! Only $38 for premium
Sushi Amari never disappoints! Each visit is better than the last, with fresh, flavorful sushi and exceptional service. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a date night or a casual dinner with friends. Highly recommend their signature rolls and sake selection. A must-visit for sushi lovers
Excellent sushi restaurant, such a great menu and the service was excellent. Sar at the bar and was chatting with one of the chefs who was very friendly. Got the salmon belly appetizer and it was delicious, all of our rolls were great and drinks were perfect.
It is completely reasonable for what you get. Be prepared to pay 15 to $25 for most meals per person. They have a good selection of imported Oriental beers, sake, and some other drinks that I've never seen before. Before. Are greeted courteously when you come through the front door, and multiple people tend to you through your dining experience.
First of all I would like to say that the service was quite exceptional. A few hiccups once the place got a little crowded, however I will not fault them for that. Second of all, there's a very nice variety of food options, that will make you want to come back and try everything else on the menu. So choose wisely on your first visit. Lastly, the food was delicious. I had the Tamago Sushi, Octopus sushi, unagi sushi, salmon skin hand roll (wait there's more), Finding Nemo Roll (definitely found Nemo), and baked scallop roll. Everything from A to Z was delicious, with the unagi sushi being my favorite. Like I said, you'll want to come back to try everything on the menu!
I left my sunglasses at the table and the waiter ran out the the parking lot to find me. The portions and food here are delicious. Fries were good!
I came here just in time for the last call. The service was very kind and asked us if we needed anything at regular intervals. We ordered 3 rolls and they all tasted great. We never felt rushed even though it was closing. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and the parking and location are both very convenient. I will definitely be coming back again to try more of their menu.
For korean owned, AYCE sushi this place is really good. A good value if you wanna crush a bunch of great sushi but not break the bank
Honestly some of the best quality fish I've had in awhile. I'm a salmon fanatic but this place made toro my number one pick for the night. If you've never had live sweet shrimp before I recommend ordering that at least one time (it's $20 for 2 pieces). Back to the Salmon...we ordered Scottish Salmon (my favorite), King Salmon, and Seared Salmon sushi and all were delish! The Toro sushi my boyfriend ordered was the extra fatty one and boy was it yum! They served it with fresh wasabi on top and it was delicious. I also loved the tamago sushi here! Not many places I go to have tamago so whenever I see it I have to order it and it was yummy. If you're a roll person this place has got you covered. We totally enjoyed eating our rolls but the quality of sushi was just way too good to ever want to eat rolls there again. Service was excellent. The restaurant was a little packed so the waiter gave us some comped appetizer while we waiting for our sushi. We will definitely be coming back for more sushi.
Wow, what an amazing spot for ACYE! This was my very first time trying it, and I absolutely loved the experience. The food was incredibly fresh, and even the little decorative touches on the plates made me feel so cared for and special. All of the servers were kind and friendly, but Judy especially stood out—she was so warm, patient, and answered all of my questions with such clarity. Two big thumbs up from me! This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots for sushi.
We ordered 2 bento boxes to share with each other and 3 different rolls(4pcs) to taste different rolls. Food was very delicious and we were full. This place was way better than any other sushi stores we went to last 90 days. We paid $75 plus tips. Next time we will try all you can eat option.
10/10 honestly. Service was so fast that as soon as a plate was empty it was gone. Food quality was the best we've had at an AYCE. The nigiri fish to rice ratio was perfect too, large pieces of fish with a very small amount of rice.
The food tasted amazing but it took FOREVER for our food orders to come out. Idk if they were just understaffed or what but we were probably in there for 2 hours and about half or more of that time was just waiting. Food tasted fresh and was all you can eat. It was $88 dollars for 2 people with only water and 1 sparkling water to drink so it was pretty expensive... The serving staff were very nice and the place seemed pretty clean including the restrooms. If you go here I suggest making sure you have the time just in case because we did not and it put us way far behind on our travels. There are menus that show you pictures and tell you what all the sushis are and what comes in/on them. You order sushi on a physical piece of paper that you write on (you only get 3 rounds of ordering) and then any of the appetizers and side dishes you want you have to scan a QR code and order through your phone. It was really easy and you don't need an app, it takes you to a an internet page. I'll upload a current photo of there menu. I took this photo when I went there and am writing this (1/31/26). On the weekends you have to pay the premium price no matter what...
17 December 2025 - Very attentive staff. Staff was so attentive they interrupted my meal a few times. I won't hold that against them though. Food was mediocre. It didn't taste fresh but didn't taste rotten. Salmon tasted oily. The nigiri sushi had very little rice. It was pretty much all fish. There was three laminated menus, two paper menus that you write your order on, a drink menu, and one online menu solely for the kitchen food. The menu system seemed overly complicated. It was an good experience. It seems like the owners of this restaurant really fight to make it a good experience. I wish them luck.
This was a great little find. Service was top notch and for newbies they do a good job of explaining how to order. They offer half rolls so you can try, and we got some complimentary gyoza. All the food was amazing but we didn't care for the Jessica albacore. Overall we'd come back.
The sushi is very fresh and above par quality. I loved their torched (which is smoked) salmon belly, bluefin tuna, and unagi. Of those, the unagi was the freshest and smelt in your mouth without the real fishy aftertaste you usually get with the cheaper type. Their tempura is really good without being greasy. My son had the crunchy roll and pork katsu and they were OK. I think their sushi and sashimi are the way to go. Oh, their drinks, lemonade or Arnold Palmer, are large with free refills.
Good food, good service, and good location. I have came here multiple times and each time the food and service have been very consistent. I have not had the chance to try any of the rolls yet but will definitely get to it on my next visit. The blue fin, yellow fin, and albacore are very good. Also, the salmon is very good. Typically, whenever I go out to eat sushi, I have never had to bring food home with me but two times I have ordered so much sushi that I could not finish it all and had to eat it an hour or so later. That is a good thing. The prices are very fair. You will probably spend around $25-$40 per person. Coming here with a party of 3 I have spent close to $100. We are all big guys and have big appetites so maybe it is just us. The point being is that the food is very good and keeps you coming back for a consistent experience. The place is a little tight and can crowd up. I have never had to wait. I usually come here around 11:30-noon. I have seen people having to wait ten minutes to be seated.
This place has really good service. We got free onion rings and sushi. The fish is fresh and their sake affordable. We ordered the sweet shrimp and it was delicious. But the one that takes all the glory is the seared salmon belly. I ended up getting 3 orders of it.
This location has great nagiri sushi and good sushi rolls. It is on the pricer side but worth it. If you like nagiri sushi it is a great spot. I would definitely suggest the combos they offer. This will save you money. If you want a good drink, then ask for the Shirley Temple it is refreshing and delicious. The miso soup is also good. It's not too salty and has a nice flavor. They also have some popcorn chicken that is very delicious, it is made fresh on site. It might take a while to get to your table, but it's definitely worth the wait. The gyoza is also really good crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside.
On 12/30/14 the wife and I decided to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary dinner at Sushi Imari. We live in South OC but had to drop off our kids in Tustin. So luckily, Yelp guided us to this small place and we could not have been any happier. The staff was super attentive and super friendly. We even shared some sake with Judy, who made our sushi. We ordered a ton of sushi and some food from the kitchen but the bill was way less than i thought it would be. The food was good but what stood out the most was their salmon sushi, salmon belly, yellow tail sushi, and some specialty rolls. They even gave us some free stuff too. Free stuff : onion rings, grilled tuna, some sweet citrus shots, and for desert- green tea ice cream & red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting. I'm sure they treated us well knowing it was our anniversary but I noticed they also gave other guest free stuff as well. Basically, if you want to try out a small quaint happy tasty sushi restaurant, I'd definitely highly recommend Sushi Imari in Costa Mesa. Come early because the place is small though.
Delicious sushi, open environment, and quality service. The food at this restaurant is fantastic; their sushi artists are top notch. Location is off the beaten path and mostly locals patronize the spot. The staff is friendly and attentive but seem super busy; understaffed that day? Did not get drinks but they have a full drink menu! The restaurant has mostly booths for the patrons and a few large corner tables for groups. Food: 9/10 Drinks: N/A (but 8/10) Environment: 7/10 Staff: 7/10
Sushi was great. Came with about 10 people, food came out on a timely manor. Service was good. Owner and chef was very nice, they hooked us up with some rolls too! We really enjoyed our dinner.
The food it was ok, the employees super serious not really friendly just the guy at the door was friendly. Cleanliness? Mmmm not really the table was sticky and the floor as well but the worst I looked down and there was a tempura shrimp on the floor 😝 I give them 4 stars because I’m pretty sure that tonight Monday they don’t have the same crew as weekends.
This is a very popular place for folks around the Irvine area. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is not that big but they have a lot of variety of sushi. Presentation looks very nice too. For me the Sushi seemed okay. It didn't strike me as any extra flavorful compared to other sushi places.
I've been here about 4 times already. It's a pretty chill place to come for sushi rolls. They have a good amount of tables and can accommodate large parties. They also have nice bento boxes and special lunch prices as well. Service is good too. This is a great place to hang out and enjoy sushi and Japanese food. I took down a star due to the price versus quality. The food is good but if I'm going to be in this price range, it does open up other places that have higher quality sushi. It's generally easy to get a table here. I rarely ever have to wait.
Good selection of food but kind of long wait time between rounds of AYCE as well as missing some orders on the sheet. Great fish to rice ratio on the nigeri and good sushi rolls!
One of the best places to get a Blue Fin tuna bowl or Salmon Bowl. A must try also is the Salmon Belly appetizer. The Sashimis are also great because they are bigger portion. When it comes to flavor and portions, This spot it way better than Sugar Fish or that fancy sushi place I went to at the mall. The sea urchin Is a hit or miss so I skip it now
This place was recommended to me by one of my Elite Yelp friends, I was super happy with this recommendation. Without getting too far off topic, I recently came back from a trip to Hawaii. While there, I ate lots of fresh raw fish and poke. I realized there is a huge difference in eating fresh fish versus non fresh or frozen and thawed out fish. So when I came back from this Hawaii trip, I was determined to find a place with some of the freshest sushi/sashimi. This place definitely has that! Sushi Imari is sort of tucked away at the end of a plaza, it seems sort of "hidden" to me. The wait time was perhaps 7 minutes on a friday afternoon around 7pm, so not too bad. The place is nice inside, lots of space, enough for larger parties if need be. Immediately upon being seated we were greeted by our waiter "Nacho"! This waiter was quite the gentlemen. Being that I'm new to sashimi, he was helpful and patient with all my questions. I ordered the following: Fresh wasabi Bluefin tuna Yellowtail Halibut Live shrimp Rainbow roll Sake bomb roll Plum wine Gyoza The Halibut was my absolute favorite! Then the live shrimp. Following my friends suggestion about getting the fresh wasabi was probably the best thing I could have done, it was definitely fresh, and it has quite the kick, but it certainly does make a difference in taste and flavor. I will continue to do this from now on, thanks Michael! Even their ginger was better tasting than other sushi spots I've been to. Everything was fresh and delicious, no complaints about their food. The plum wine was WOW! I'm not a big on wine, but this was certainly something I thoroughly enjoyed. I enjoyed so much that I asked my waiter where I could purchase it, and I went straight there right after my meal, hahaha yes it was that good! The rolls were great as well, no complaints. I was pleased to have my waiter bring us some Gyoza on the house, not only was it a nice gesture on their end, it was in fact delicious! Thank you Sushi Imari! It was a pleasure to have Nacho as my waiter, thank you Nacho! So I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great fresh tasting sushi. Enjoy!
First time here yesterday. Would have given 5 stars if not for their kids policy. 51" and over is an adult!? Total scam. My kid is 7 years old and I had to pay $39 for her LUNCH!!! Would have walked out but she has low blood sugar issues and we needed food immediately. Food came out fast and was very fresh and delicious. Really did not appreciate paying premium ayce prices for myself and a child and then there are STILL items that are not ayce. Make that make sense please!!! You're already charging an exorbitant amount for anyone over 4 ft just in case and then you limit what that person can eat??? It really rubbed me the wrong way immediately when we walked through the door. Would have loved to recommend this to the community but the money grab on the children is ridiculous. I would still recommend everyone go to AYCE sushi in Santa Ana. Same quality, no limitations and they charge children appropriately.
Delicioso.sushi
Fish quality was alright, some pieces were fine but a few didn’t taste fresh. Price is about the same as other spots. The only downside was I got food poisoning after, which kind of ruined the experience.
Fish was pretty fresh, but they lacked presentation as several plates had fish drooping over the edge and a few nigiri we got were in poorly cut chunks (like when you cut sushi with a dull knife). We had to ask for wasabi, chopsticks, and soy sauce a few times and it wasnt because we needed more; the guy just forgot that many times. It wasn't too busy that Monday evening either. I'll give it one more try, in hopes that they take these reviews into heart and make changes. Criticism isn't bad when you use them to your advantage.
Sushi Imarı was one of my favorite restaurants. Gyoza and veggie rolls were tasty. However, I was not so happy with the Rolls this time, which were so mushy.
Average nigiri and average overall is the best way to describe the food at Sushi Imari. I will admit that I am discriminating when it comes to sushi because I eat it 3 times per week. The staff is amazing and the prices were surprisingly low. I'd come back and order different things.
Good sushi. Nothing spectacular, but better than most in the area. Ordered 3 different rolls and 2 turned out to be very similar. Cant recall the names as this was our first time. Ordered togo so we didn't dine in. Dining room appears to be much bigger than the typical sushi restaurants and tables were spaced nicely (not too cramped).
La calidad del pescado era buena; algunas piezas estaban buenas, pero algunas no sabían frescas. El precio es similar al de otros sitios. El único inconveniente fue que me intoxiqué después, lo que arruinó la experiencia.
I came here with high hopes and left very disappointed. $35 for regular dinner ayce and $55 for sashimi Ayce. There are some very important rules to them so make sure read the footnotes at the bottom of the order sheets. I was really annoyed by them. The first thing that arrived were the appetizers and they were argh. I never had sweet agedashi tofu. Some of the orders were wrong that came to us. They also put way too much rice in their sushi. Admittedly, a couple sushi dishes were good. We were waiting for our premium items to come but they never did due to one of those important rules. In the end, we left very full (probably from all that rice) and very disappointed. Not coming back.
Food quality is just not there. Tried tonkatsu pork, teriyaki beef, teriyaki chicken, sashimi, variety of sushi, soup, salad, tempura etc and we were very disappointed. Not only did the meats not taste fresh but to make things worse the salad was just lettuce and the soup was overly salted. Wish the food would have been more fresh. At this price level and rating expected a lot more.
Tried to charge my 8 years old full price and he's not even that tall and barely over. The manager didn't even want to make an exception.
I've been going to this place since it was called "En Sushi," but their sign's design read like, "Eon Sushi.". So today I called in for a to-go order, because it's my birthday, and I'm craving sushi. So anyways, their web site has no prices (or descriptions) on the menu/order section. So Im forced to find the menu on a third-party service, for prices and for descriptions on the rolls I want. Then when I call in the order, I'm given a total that's $7 more than the prices I'd found online. So... cancel!!! I used to like this place. Now I don't. The rolls are pretty good, but not that good, See ya...
Really sad to see it go like this. We had been loyal customers of Sushi Imari for YEARS and now it’s completely different. The charm and pleasant dining experience this restaurant once had has disappeared. All the rolls fell apart as soon as it was picked up to eat, the fish questionable, tasteless and farm raised. Inferior ingredients and I am sick the day after eating there. Pretty sure I should look into anti parasitic. This once was a nice authentic Japanese restaurant and now it’s employed by low wage employees that clearly have no business preparing sushi. I was suspicious why they blocked the kitchen at the bar, so if you like to eat at the bar you are no longer looking at the fish or chefs preparing your sushi and counterfeit fish added color for the blue fin sushi, my rice was pink under the piece of fish. Honestly, it’s an insult!
FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! gave this place a try twice in the last two months 1st time we got the premium ayce ($38.95) for dinner, food was good, nigiri had great fish to rice ratio, there was no wait and the restaurant was 70% full the thing that bothered us most was there was a 10pc per person limit in the first round and we could get unlimited pieces afterwards, but they took an hour to bring out the limited premium pieces we ordered and kept asking us if we still wanted it (after waiting for a long time) but were quick to bring out rolls and appetizers we ended up cancelling our carpaccio (limited item) orders because it took too long and the waiter kept suggesting that we do throughout the dinner 2nd time we went was today for lunch ($29.95), we chose the classic menu and when we sat down the hostess told us that the first round was limited to 10pcs and the next two rounds were unlimited (fair since it’s stated on the menu and we are aware from our previous exp), another waitress picked up our order for the second round and told us it was in fact, not unlimited and nigiri was limited to 10 pc/person per round and the rolls were limited to 16pc/person per round so we told the waitress that it is not all you can eat if we are limited to 30pc total, and she said it was a new policy they just started and the business was hoping people fill up on rolls and appetizers Oh, and you can’t order all the appetizers from the ayce menu if you go with the classic “ayce”, you’re limited to just fried stuff (fries, tofu, tempura), rice bowls, and udon, so if you were expecting baked mussels forget it!!! (we didn’t know this until we scanned a QR code) felt like we got baited, maybe don’t serve all you can eat sushi if you can’t deliver the product
Worst sushi I’ve ever had. All the rolls fell apart as soon as it was picked up to eat, the fish questionable, tasteless and farm raised. Inferior ingredients and I am sick the day after eating there. Pretty sure I should look into anti parasitics. This once was a nice authentic Japanese restaurant and now it’s employed by low wage employees that clearly have no business preparing sushi. Go somewhere else.
This is my first time coming here since it switched over from Eon. We came at noon on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy... I am very disappointed. My friend and I ordered 5 rolls, one (dynamite roll) of which we couldn't even finish because it tasted so bad. The roll price is average to above average but the amount of fish you get in each roll does not equal the price. Drinks went and stayed empty for a decent amount of time. I will not be coming back.
Really sad to see it go like this. We had been loyal customers of Sushi Imari for YEARS and now it’s completely different. The charm and pleasant dining experience this restaurant once had has disappeared. Time to find a new restaurant!
Genuinely confused how this is highly rated. Probably one of the worst sushi places I've ever tried. The sushi gets drenched in sauce i felt like I was having a salad. We also only ordered two rolls and a soup and it came out 74 dollars?? Seriously a let down. I cant trust tiktok reviews anymore lol
I dont know why this place is rated so high. The sushi is mediocre, the wasabi tastes like costco jar wasabi with no spice or flavor, its over-priced, and on top of all the people behind the counter were spanish. When I eat sushi, i want to get my sushi by a Japanese Itamae sushi chef. Will not be coming here again.
really slow service and wasn’t busy enough to be excusable. we were seated fairly quick because it was almost empty. we were in the middle so it was hard to miss us. the food was subpar and we waited over 20 mins just for edamame. since it was the weekend we had to pay for the premium price AYCE and since we were a party of 5, we HAD to leave an 18% gratuity but the service did not reflect that at all. for 5 people the total was $245 and the food was not worth that at all.
UPDATE: we all got FOOD POISONING from this disgusting low quality dirty restaurant What a let down. They advertise AYCE all over but when we arrived an hour and a half before closing they told us we couldn’t do AYCE. Aside from the seared samon sushi everything was pretty gross and low quality. The server was rushing us through our entire meal. The music was loud and obnoxious. This is not a new restaurant, it’s the same old run down restaurant with a new sign. The bathroom is dirty and smells so bad. All around awful experience. Definitely will not be returning. I’m convinced the other the reviews must be paid/promotional
¡ANUNCIO FALSO!
