This one by far one of the best experiences in dining I have had for a while. First time I go home not feeling bloated. I enjoyed the fresh ingredients. The drinks and the two desserts. The whole menu is delicate and intentional. The spritz is amazing. Out of this world. I know they have become more busy due to some social media video but the hype is worth it.
Our dinner at Verde in Costa Mesa was exceptional from start to finish. We began with the charcuterie board, which was beautifully presented and offered a thoughtful selection of cured meats, cheeses, and accompaniments - balanced, flavorful, and perfectly portioned to share. For our entrée, we split the half chicken, which was tender, juicy, and seasoned with precision. It’s clear the kitchen takes real pride in both flavor and presentation. We ended the meal with cocktails, and they were outstanding. Each was crafted with care and creativity, but the standout was the Cigarettes & Coffee. It’s rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced, a must-try for cocktail lovers. The atmosphere at Verde is refined yet comfortable, with attentive service and a warm, welcoming energy. From start to finish, it felt like a complete experience. Verde is a fantastic addition to Costa Mesa’s dining scene and one I’ll absolutely be returning to.
Wonderful food and atmosphere! Highly recommend giving it a try. Loved how curated the menu was. We ordered pickled carrots and gem lettuce salad for apps. Had a classic gimlet cocktail for our drinks, and the half-chicken and hanger steak for entrees. Topped it off with a panna cotta dessert. Everything was delicious!
Delicious and healthy food. Beautiful golf course views. Service was friendly. You can tell they put lots of love and care into their recipes
Beet salad ⭐⭐⭐ - not super sweet in a good way - wish there was more cheese - liked the walnuts - my bf thinks 4/5 Roasted Carrots ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - really good, you could eat the whole carrot - likes the whole sauce - they're really long and crisp, not soggy Charred cabbage ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I like the char, wish it was more charred - the sauce was a little too salty for me which would make me not reorder - I could tell I would love it though without the saltiness but would be hesitant to try again --- entrees --- Salmon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - love the spicy sauce Pork chop ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - I like the mustard sauce - not sure if I could eat a whole one but prefer this over the chicken Chicken deboned ⭐⭐⭐✨ - like that it was deboned - not blowing me away - very buttery Trout ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - like a chicken picata, had capers etc - very buttery too - not fishy at all
Such a cute little hidden gem. Their appetizers are all healthy, hearty and delicious. Their skirt steak is cooked to perfection with a yummy sauce. Burger was super juicy. Above all was their awesome service. Highly recommend and cannot wait to dine there again!
Absolutely gorgeous meal! Our server Nicole was great. Each dish had details that elevated them. I plan on trying the cocktails next time. We had the mushroom appetizer, the squash appetizer, the tagliatelle Bolognese, and their chocolate and yogurt dessert
Excited to finally have a restaurant at the Back Bay Center. The cuisine is elevated California cuisine which for the area is a good choice. The drink options are great to pair with dishes, although we had the chilled red blend. Hoping to see a more adventurous menu in the future. The curry was very earthy, with tumeric and pureed vegetables notes. Assortment of vegetables was pleasing and cooked well. The sea bass was also cooked exceptionally well, skin adorned with nuts. Light and savory. I also haven't really ever been served blistered grapes in mashed parsnips so that was new to me, and it was nice.
New fav local gem! Clean and fresh decor. Everything was excellent!

The trout was perfectly cooked—delicate, flavorful, and the roasted vegetables had just the right char and seasoning. The service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance made the whole experience feel effortlessly special. A truly satisfying meal from start to finish.
Loved it! One of the best meals we’ve had in a while. Everything was fresh, well prepared, with textures, flavors, and presentations on point. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a great time and meal here. Food is interesting and very flavorful, service is attentive and friendly, atmosphere is lively without being too noisy. We would definitely return.
Excellent Service, food and drink. We were a party of 5 with a 1 year old and were made to feel very welcome. The waitress did a great job with the baby.
Tremendous meal, first timers. Although they had a multi course Valentines menu that evening, we wanted to explore more of the menu. Three of us, one being my 83 year old mother-in-law, had 5 appetizers and salad, and three entrees. Hit it out of the park on everything. We had the charred cabbage, broiled marinated carrots, short rib chili(killer), beet and feta cheese salad, and house made olive oil bread and whipped butter. Every dish great attention to detail, delicious and varied saucing. We could have stopped there, but we continued on to the trout, hangar steak, and 12 oz pork chop. The sauce on that baby was tremendous, and I’m currently finishing the left overs in my hotel room for breakfast covered in that remarkable sauce. Service was spot on, timing was appropriately spaced out. Definitely put Verde on your map.
Great Restaurant! Anthony the owner is awesome...our Server Bella was on point all night and knowledgeable about all things Verde. Be sure to talk Mezcal with Anthony and order the Blistered Shishito Peppers! Went early on a Saturday (5ish) and walked right in. Reservations are recommended though...it was getting very busy after we left. We got lucky.
One of the best hidden gems. From beginning to end great food and service! We came for all the perfectly executed appetizers. Came back for entree protein. Again Excellent. Now don't get me started on dessert. Yup. You guessed it ⚾ Home Run! Do yourself a favor. Come enjoy this place. You're welcome 😁
This was a wonderful find. The menu and food are simple ingredients but they did a great job with flavor, texture, and temperature. All the dishes we ordered were delicious. The service was great as well. They treated us like guests at their house.

Great food choices! We had the salmon, prime hanger steak, roasted pickled carrots, and the ranch salad. Everything tastes superb, and service was remarkable. Can’t wait to come back!

A restaurant without direction. Expensive ($65-> ) no name wine bottles. Entrees are ok, almost good, at a normal price for the region. For a place with some kind of ambition, it's strange to not have an espresso machine. Besides, bread and butter with the food for $10 and regular coffee for $12...well you'll be the judge... but this place has a strange pricing strategy and an unclear direction and I wouldn't go back for another dinner.
First things first, the chips and dip are not worth $15. You may look over the appetizers and see that they are one of the most expensive options. You may also see that french fries are about half the price at $8. This may lead you to think that the expensive chips and dip are something special, but they aren't. Do not spend $15 on them. I came on a Friday night with a reservation. It took about ten minutes to be seated, a half an hour to get a round of drinks, and over an hour before the food was served: a burger and a salmon filet, neither of which require an hour of preparation. The prices are good for good food, but it was pretty mediocre, which means the prices are bad. Neither I, nor my date finished our meals or had any desire to box it and take it with us. I don't think they have the skill or the staff to actually create the environment they're after, but that doesn't stop them from charging for it. I will never be back. Proceed with caution.
