Go for the food, the service was great as well. Had a steak burrito 🌯 and is was HUGE! And very tasty. I would recommend.
Great Mexican food. Its affordable and delicious. They have lots of selections and alot of refrigerators for you to choose your cold bottled drinks. Will return and recommend to others.
Perhaps to better describe its excellent carne deshebrada to Orange County, "Roman's Mexican Restaurant and Taqueria" has followed Chipotle in naming it "beef barbacoa," even though barbacoa in Spanish translates to barbecue and, in Mexico, barbacoa traditionally refers to pit-roasted meats. I am 100% sure the owner of Roman's is aware that carne deshebrada, aka Mexican-style shredded beef, is not barbacoa. Carne deshebrada is culinarily closer to being the Mexican equivalent to the Caribbean-style marinated, slow-cooked beef referred to as "ropa vieja." Roman's "Carne Deshebrada Taco" aka "Barbacoa Taco," consists of two thin white corn tortillas filled with braised beef, dressed with fresh chopped onions and cilantro. Roman's juicy carne deshebrada, due to lengthy stewing in chilies and spices, really doesn't require any additional sauce. Nonetheless, I added the salsa bar's thick salsa roja during my visit, and the smoldering combination induced delirium. This is not barbacoa, it's not even just carne deshebrada, it's heaven in a tortilla.
I lived in Costa Mesa for most of my life. This place has one of the best Torta Cubanas I've had in OC. Mixed with their fresh avocado salsa verde! PERFRCTO! (It is spicy for people who cant take spice. Lol) I also enjoy their tacos al pastor, chimichangas with shredded beef, enchiladas and their BIG chicken quesadillas! their cheeseburgers are made very tasty as well. It is a bit pricier but there portions are big and it is worth it!
Tacos are HUGE. I moved to Irvine 2 weeks ago, this place is No.1 so far

Best sausage, bacon, & chorizo breakfast burrito I’ve ever had in my life!! All day breakfast.
This is a great restaurant. I ordered the pozole rojo. It was very delicious and flavorful. The restaurant was very clean. I also had agua de Jamaica and that was delicious. I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu.
Ordered a pollo California burrito from here since there was a deal on Grubhub; the green salsa is super delicious and the chicken had a lot of texture. Saved this place in case they have more Grubhub coupons in the future 😍
Ordered Torta al pastor, stuffed jalapenos, and had a good selection of Modelo. Torta came with a bomb green sauce and served well with the side of stuffed jalapenos. While the jalapenos were lacking a bit in the aesthetic department, they still had a good taste Fast service, and the place gave off a homely, authentic feeling
Excellent Mexican cuisine. It's tasty and reasonably priced. There are plenty of refrigerators and options for you to pick from when selecting your cold bottled beverages. Will come again and suggest to others.
Absolutely delicious! Great selection, the authentic Mexican food you're craving, they have several salsas including a very spicy chipotle type flavor, and who doesn't appreciate a menu complete with a picture of the item next to the description. What they actually serve is even better than the picture. Loved this place, great food and excellent service.
Delicious chile verde burrito and pastor plate! Meat was flavorful and tender. Even though we came after the lunch rush, the food was fresh and the service was great. The dining room was clean and comfortable. I especially liked the bottled beer selections!
Amazing taqueria hidden on North Newport Blvd. in Costa Mesa! Most everything I have tried has been delicious and made to order. The carnitas are my favorite, always crispy and juicy at the same time. The tacos are huge! Definitely worth the price. The salsa bar has several varieties that are always fresh, and are comprised of all heat levels. They also have a large beverage cooler wall with many varieties of drinks, from juice, and sodas in glass bottles, to beers and teas.. Highly recommend.

Food is good here, location is very clean. Not a whole lot of parking, and getting to location can be a bit of a pain. Staff were great, no complaints, slight difficulty talking to cashier, but was favorite part of location. Food prepared immediately, like done in less than 3 minutes. Only had a burrito, mild salsa was good. Definitely going to come back here eventually. Didn't see if had restrooms. In all, good food at an expected price.
Food was good, place was dead, and employees were very cold. All in all was decent

This is a small walk in place with menu on the board behind the counter. Prices are a little higher than I would like for a walk in as they haven't much of an overhead. But if you're in the area and want Mexican food there's nothing wrong with giving it a try. I had the fish taco which was good.

I have been going to Romans for many years. They used to have an amazing salsa bar but stopped putting the salsa out a few years ago which was very disappointing. Now they charge you a dollar extra per little small round container! you're only allowed two small round salsa containers per burrito and their prices went way up they charged me $16 for a chorizo and bacon Mexican style breakfast burrito. The owner said it was because of high prices but to be honest that is ridiculous and how much does it really cost to make salsa or to add hash browns or a piece of bacon to the burrito. By the way I got charged that price and didn't even get a Mexican style burrito! They now charge $12.99 for a Mexican style burrito without all the bells and whistles like potatoes etc. and add 4% to your bill total. Super disappointed, I paid $45 for three breakfast burritos. I personally think it's greed and they're using inflation as an excuse. My family and I will never go back and I will tell all my friends about my experience 😠

I ordered from here on Uber eats on Memorial Day and went to pick it up and the restaurant had a sign on the door saying it was closed. I never picked up my order, and when I tried to get a refund from uber they said that the restaurant reported I picked it up so I cannot be refunded. This is blatant fraud.

Went to grab something to eat after reading some reviews. I ordered carne azada nachos supreme. Nothing to brag about except for the salsa that was good. Facility was clean and empty with no customers. Person at the counter was nice but not very talkative. I thing it was overly price. Definitively not coming back.
Worst food ever, not worth your money. Place is unsanitary, meat was not good and was unable to tell what meat it was. The Guacamole was rotten and over priced for the amount given also. Service is bad. Please be careful what your eating out there. Just thought I’d give this place a chance. Never again.

I don't get it. I came here because I was in the area, was wanting mexican, and the reviews were great. Did I get the off night? The food was not good and it was not a good value for what I got. I ordered a fish taco / enchilada combo and carne asada combo. I was looking forward to it too. The fish tacos are literally frozen fish sticks in a corn tortilla. I couldn't believe it. It was placed directly on the cheese enchilada in my combo which made the taco fall apart. The enchilada was just ok. The carne asada was basically burnt ground beef. Definitely not the asada I've had many many times in the past. The rice and beans was bland and under seasoned too. To top if all off there is an unannounced 4% service charge added. (I was a walk in customer...not delivery) so when I got the receipt after I paid, I saw that I paid an extra 4% on top of my gratuity bringing my total bill to nearly $40 for this meal. Sorry, that's not a good value at all...especially for what I got.
