We had lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Great experience with excellent food and service Shrimp cocktail was perfect. Cobb Salad could have used a little more blue cheese. My steak frites with duck fat fries and aoli was prepared as requested and was very good. Highly recommend It was a birthday so we got a dessert on the house and our server did an excellent job.

This place was amazing! Me and my wife went there for the first time. The staff was super friendly and informative. The manager even comp us a lobster tail, just to let us taste an amazing butter sauce. The seafood sampler was amazing and fresh. The steaks were life changing, I’ve never had a steak like that in my life. The whole experience is definitely worth it. We will definitely be coming back next time. Thank you Capital Grille for an amazing experience. We will definitely be back

My wife and I celebrated my birthday at one of our favorite spots, The Capital Grille in Costa Mesa. We’re pretty much regulars here, so it felt right to make it the place for my special night. Not only was it my birthday, but the Generous Pour dinner was happening as well—so we were extra excited. We started with our go-to appetizer, the calamari. It’s always cooked to perfection—crispy, tender, and paired beautifully with the sweet peppers. Of course, the warm bread for the table never disappoints either. For entrées, my wife went with the Seared Sea Scallops with Maine Lobster and Asparagus Risotto, while I had the Double Cut Lamb Rib Chops. Both were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. We also shared a wedge salad and the Soy-Glazed Brussels Sprouts with bacon—both excellent complements to the meal. To drink, my wife enjoyed the red and white pours, while I sipped on a delicious In Fashion cocktail. The ambiance was sexy yet relaxed, and the service was flawless as always. They even sprinkled confetti on the table and surprised us with a birthday dessert plate, which made the evening feel that much more special. Cheers to The Capital Grille Costa Mesa and Happy Birthday to me!

Wow, he knows his wines. The generous pour is a great things…but even better when the server is vested in knowing the history of the wine, wine maker, and tasting notes. Just fantastic. Great job! I also order Charcuterie board to go only cheddar with the prisoner’s red blend Tiffany shop, it goes very well with it and I have some cheese and appetizer the untouched leftover for tonight’s dinner. Their crunchy flat bread is very tasty.

The restaurant is beautiful and upscale, their food is delicious, their drinks are strong, but what makes this place stand out from the rest is their attention to detail and their incredible customer service. We celebrated Mother’s Day at The Capital Grille in Costa Mesa, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the elegant ambiance to the incredible service and unforgettable flavors, this fine dining steakhouse in Costa Mesa made our special day truly perfect. We started with the fresh oysters and house-smoked salmon—both beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. For the main course, we ordered the 8 oz filet mignon, which was cooked to a flawless medium-rare and melted in our mouths with every bite. The quality of the meat and seasoning was top-notch, exactly what you’d expect from one of the best steakhouses in Orange County. To end the meal, we shared the crème brûlée, which was silky-smooth with the perfect caramelized top, and enjoyed rich, freshly brewed espresso. And I can’t forget to mention the Doli, their signature cocktail made with vodka infused with fresh pineapple—it was sweet, refreshing, and an absolute must-try! The service was outstanding—attentive, kind, and thoughtful. Our server made excellent recommendations and added a special touch to help us celebrate. Whether you’re planning a celebration or simply looking for an upscale dining experience in South Coast Plaza, The Capital Grille Costa Mesa delivers on every level. This place is phenomenal. The calamari was so crispy. My favorite was the lobster bisque where they drizzled the sherry. O yum. There was good pieces of lobster in it. The steak was cooked perfectly. I came celebrating my wedding anniversary and they gave us a little "capital" treatment. Yummy dessert.

I had the pleasure of dining at Capital Grill last night, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant's Valentine’s Day decorations were beautifully done, adding a charming and festive atmosphere to the evening. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. We started with the clam chowder soup, which was absolutely delicious—creamy, flavorful, and just the right balance of ingredients. For the main course, I had the grilled salmon, which was incredibly juicy and cooked to perfection. The lamb chops were another highlight of the meal; they were perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. As for the lobster mac n' cheese, while it was good, it didn’t quite meet my expectations—it was a bit more standard than I hoped for, but still tasty. Overall, a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back to try more of their offerings!

We went here for my birthday in a large group. The food was great as usual, but the issue we had was with the service around their drinks. We ordered several margaritas, waitress, asking what kind of tequila we would like and we responded liking reposado tequila. At the end of the night we receive our bill and each $23 margarita had a $9 up charge for reposado. I mean seriously? Should we be told that there’s gonna be an up charge before? And why exactly does a fancy steakhouse have an up charge like that? Is the base $23 margarita using Hornitos tequila? Very absurd for this kind of place. Flemings would never do that. The 1 star is about this matter otherwise the food was great.
