We were there on a Monday evening. The waiter was helpful. The dishes are delicious. Highly recommended.
Seriously the Bbq ive ever bad in my life. The rib is so tender. I’m not a big fan of ribs but when I had their ribs.. it completely changed my mind. 100%%%% recommend. ❤️
Visiting Aubery, TX ,this charming town for the first time was made truly unforgettable by our dining experience at Prairie House. After a four-and-a-half-hour drive, we were welcomed by Brittney G , who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. She led us to a private room where we were treated to an array of delicious appetizers and an abundant feast that exceeded all expectations. The hospitality and care we received made every mile worth it.
My dad wanted a good Chicken Fried Steak and I agreed, that sounded good. Great food, him and my mom were able to share 1 plate. I brought half my plate home with me because the portions were large for the price. Tender CFS, mashed potatoes and gravy were excellent as well. The fried Okra was seriously the best I ever had. 1st time there and I knownwhere to stop when I have to take my parents to their Dr. Appts.
Loved this place when I lived in the area and my return trip with friends did not disappoint. Brisket was good, enjoyed my cocktails and the server was very efficient.
If you've ever been to Knotts Berry Farm, this place will look familiar. Variety of BBQ meats, steaks, sandwiches, and salads. I ordered the Sliced brisket, roasted corn and sweet potato fries. My husband got the Texas 2 Step, which is 2 bbq meats and 2 sides - he picked burnt ends, ribs, corn, and regular fries. The brisket was tender, but not very smokey. The Sweet Potato Fries were crispy and perfectly cooked. The corn was a bit odd, but not bad. I wish they would have had sauce on the table, but the service was friendly and professional.
Always a great visit. The food and service was awesome. Had the fried catfish this go around and it didn't disappoint. Good size portion and sides were mouth watering good. All came out fast and hot. Nothing was needed to be returned nor did the server get anything wrong. Our server Azra was on point and gave us the right amount of attention.
Very good. With old farm equipment outside, it reminds you of "Babes Chicken". Entryway had big funny bear too. My date and I arrived around 6-6:30pm. We were seated in small area- about 9 4-tops and six booths. Turns out there is another huge area down the hall. Anyways, we had great waiter. We started with drinks from menu. Can't remember names but my date had watermelon something or another.she liked. I had the flowery sounding one near bottom of menu page, it was ehhh, seems watered down from very beginning. For the food, Everything looked and sounded good, but our waiter walked us through the best stuff. Some highlights included BBQ Trio with the " Banditos."- those things are amazing. Burnt ends good too. My date said her porkchop was a little bland, but my chicken fried chicken was awesome. Tender and juicy, with fantastic country gravy I mopped up with the fried okra I got. We were too stuffed to eat desert there, but we took peach cobbler and chocolate cake to go, along with half lb of smoked turkey. :0) We spent right around $100.00 for everything, including the take hm turkey. The one drink and the pork chops weren't thrilling, but I look forward to going back- they still have steaks, prime rib. Quail, and blackberry cobbler I want to try. :0) PS - Sorry pics are so bad, but you know food was good when 3/4 of plate is gone b4 you remember you were supposed to take pictures. Lol
Second time I've eaten here, both times I have had the Fried chicken sandwich. Brought the wife this time as well as the girls. Fried pickles was our start, the breading they use is delicious! Lots of crunch and a little to salty for my liking, but the ranch helps. Grils got the turkey and smiles face fries as well as the chicken strips with regular fries. Wife got the chicken fried chicken with fried okra, coslaw, and glazed carrots. I had the the chciken fried chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese and all the toppings with fried green beans. The chicken portions are so big I had to cut my chicken beast in half to fit it on the bun and had some for the next day to make another sandwich. Might try something else the next time I go, but the chicken is amazing. Staff was courteous and attentive.
Hands down the best Pittsburg Style Filet I have ever had! The chef did a really good job on our food so I had to mention him/her right off the bat. This is a very cozy, country style restaurant that my husband and I both enjoyed. The service was good, restaurant is clean and the food was exceptional. If I had a complaint it would be that the country music wasn't loud enough! Kudos to the owners well managed, great restaurant.
Came here on a whim since my friend wanted steak. It’s really nice inside and feel very welcoming. The ambiance is very nice as well. Our server was very friendly and helpful. She recommended the bbq plate and so I got the 3 step - burnt brisket ends, ribs and bandidos ( jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and chicken and wrapped in bacon) the bandidos were absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the ribs and burnt ends as well. I also got white Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes for my side which I ended as well. My friends got the New York strip and really enjoyed it. I would absolutely come back here . Definitely worth the price and the food was sooo good.
Stopped by the Prairie House Restaurant for dinner and really enjoyed the place from the moment we stepped inside. Promptly seated, our server had our drinks to us very quickly. I ordered a Shiner Bock (draft) and it was brought out nice and cold. Also, ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes (ordered sweet corn as an extra side). Dinner was so good! I would highly recommend stopping by Prairie House restaurant...we'll be back!
The food was delicious. We received top notch service. There is also a bar and open air music venue in the back. Great date night restaurant.
Old Western and antique atmosphere with decent low volume music. Service was friendly and quick. Top Sirloin steaks were cooked to perfection. My rare one was juicy, reddish pink and tender. Sides were great as well. It seems as though they put care and attention into their menu. Can't wait to come back and try their brisket offerings!
It's been more than 20 years since I was here and nothing has changed, this place is still really good! Went today with a buddy of mine I was here last with and we both said the same thing, food was really good and the beer was COLD! Cant wait to go back this weekend with my wife for some drinks and steaks! Fried catfish and shrimp was just right for todays lunch!
I didn't have time to take a picture of our food but let me tell you, and trust me on this, it was DELICIOUS! We had ribs, pulled pork and tri-tip; white mac and cheese, and french fries. Totally recommend it and also our server was SUPER friendly and attentive who went all extra and beyond; I wish I could remember his name but we left a generous tip for sure, well deserved. Good music, good ambience... Great experience for Californians in Texas for the first time.
Hands down worth the hour and 20 minute drive. Food was excellent, drinks were excellent and desserts were amazing. Then add staff and atmosphere, got me wishing they would move to Rockwall!
Charlie was an excellent server! Efficient, attentive, and quietly confident. He had such a kind, demeanor and a fun, lighthearted personality that made the experience even better. The food is always delicious and hot.
We finally was able to try Prairie House after driving by it for years and seeing people waiting outside to get in. We had a lovely time and the food was excellent. Its an interesting menu with BBQ to steaks. The food was prepared perfectly, and was served nice and hot. My wife got a steak. It was nice and tender and exactly the way she ordered it. I actually ordered a burger made with one of their special beef selections. It was extremely tender. I ordered medium and it was served medium. That NEVER happens in restaurants!.. The rustic feel of the restaurant is fun too.. There are booths and each booth has a different theme. All in all it was a terrific experience. If I were going to complain it would be that a place with some fine food should have a better tap selection. They had a few and fortunately they had one that I liked.
Had the $15.99 special which was a 12 ounce New York strip. Flavor was good and had some cowboy beans and a baked potato. Really enjoyed the food. Waitress was super friendly and did a great job. Will be back and try something else.
We only go here for special occasions and it's evidently clear as to why. Food, service and atmosphere are spectacular. There are 2 brothers that work there so it took awhile but they are twins so if you get either one, they'll take care of you the same... pun intended.
This was our first time dining here, and we love taking a chance on new places we’ve never visited before. This restaurant did not disappoint! The food was delicious, the bathrooms were clean, and the service was excellent. From the moment we arrived, the host was friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for a great experience. Our waitress, Lilah, truly stood out—she was attentive, friendly, and thoughtful every time she came to our table. We really enjoyed our visit and would gladly return.
I've been here for brunch more times than I can count and every time is delicious! If you haven't been for brunch yet, I highly recommend! Farmer's breakfast, brisket skillet, cinnamon roll all great choices... and get you some bandidos!
This is a nice, rustic place to enjoy a great steak or fried catfish meal. All the old photos and signs make the restaurant unique. It's a memorable place that takes you back in time.
We had dinner here last week with our family members. We so enjoyed all our food. I especially found the chicken fried steak to be super tasty. Gaby, Michelle and Ash were all very attentive servers. The country decor is pleasing. The next time we come visit our family we plan to have another delicious meal with at your cozy restaurant. Thank you Prarie House.
My family and I had the opportunity to enjoy a meal at this restaurant. Though, the burnt ends were somewhat chewy(Lil tough) the flavor was still delicious. The minor concern was met with great professionalism by the restaurant manager, Izzy. Who took excellent carevofvus. Ash G., our server was attentive, polite and very customer service friendly. Even had a chance to catch up with Charlie. Our server from the first visit. Will definitely continue to go back and visit!!! Thank you!!
This place is awesome!!! It was our first time, and we are already planning to go back. I had the brisket sandwich, and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was so overstuffed that the meat was falling off the bun. Our waitress was great, and the atmosphere is so Texas!!!!
We have driven by this place several times …. We drove in from Arlington to give it a try! Service was outstanding! Food and drinks were great. We were served with cornbread first. It was good! Started off with the brisket queso and chips. I highly recommended. I had catfish and shrimp (my mother had the same)… both were fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband had grilled salmon and it was very good! The potato salad was full of flavor. Mashed potatoes and green beans were very good. Salads were crisp and chilled and the salad dressing was good! The roasted corn on the cob was ok … not too much flavor …. Could use butter and seasoning. The beers are served in an ice cold, frosty mug. Now, the chocolate cake was delicious!!!! Definitely give this place a try.
Stopped her during a break between our kids' marching band contest in Aubry. Our server Aaron was awesome. Food was fast and good. I had Mai Mai Tacos. Prices were fair. Would definitely come here again if in the area. Disclaimer, the attached pictures are of a carved tree located 0.7 miles north on the right side of Naylor Rd. Turn right at the small road just before Fishtrap Rd.

Good food. Service was excellent. Worth dealing with the construction traffic to get there.
Will be back to try other menu items. Husband had chicken fried steak with fries (boring steak fries) and ranch beans. Beans were awesome, flavorful with a bite of spice. Could have used a little more gravy. Catfish wasn’t too bad, cornmeal batter but shrimp could have used some spice. Very clean and interesting decor, talking points. Will try some of their meat plates next. And if you like your cornbread muffins made with sugar then they are spot on. True southerners who like their cornbread with no sugar out of luck. Bathrooms clean.
We always have amazing service when we come here. I have had some experiences with overcooked steaks and burgers, but they're still delicious nonetheless. The burnt ends are great, especially with that jalapeño jelly, as is the cornbread and all the other appetizers. My personal favorite entree is the ribeye, but you really can't go wrong with anything here.
Food was good. Service was excellent! I hadn't been to this restaurant in many years. I love the environment. I got fried catfish and shrimp. The catfish was ok but the shrimp was very good. Also got fried pickles and they were great too. I hope to come back soon and try a steak.
Kristen is easily the best bartender here. This place would do so much better if the other ones were half as great as her. Service and drinks are mediocre when she isn't working.
Came for the prime rib - very average. Rest of the food was great. Will be back for sure. Chicken fried steak was amazing and fresh.
Stumbled upon this place for the first time on a random road trip. I was hungry and decided why not check it out. We had to wait about 10 minutes for seating which is ok. The place overall had a awesome early 50s/60s western atmospheric. The food was ok, not great. Ordered an appetizer of their Bandidos, which were pretty small, pricy, and kinda burned. The only thing that saved them was their bbq sauce. For my main course I ordered a burger While the presentation was nice, it was very bland. Did not even have mayo or mustard at all. Wife ordered quail. It was pretty decent.
Love the atmosphere of a rustic texas country restaurant. The food was good but not amazing. We got the burnt ends as an appetizer and salads with ranch. The ranch dressing was awesome. I got a ribeye and my wife got a bbq combo plate. The steak was good and her bbq was good. Very solid place and would come back again.
I have been to Prairie House multiple times over the years and each has been a great experience. The food here is down home cooking, I've never had an order and not loved what I've gotten. It is located in the crossroads intersection, diagonal from Walmart off of 380. I stopped in for lunch today, I'm meeting I was headed to was canceled so I stopped for an early lunch. I got there around 11:00, so I was one of the first people to be seated. I ordered tea and the Tuesday special which was a barbecue plate served with brisket, chicken breast and your choice of sides. I went with the beans, potato salad. They also brought out a cornbread roll. I wasn't wild about that, it was kind of dry. The meat was tender and had a great smoky flavor, was served with a nice barbecue sauce. The beans had a fabulous kick, potato salad had a creamy mustard base, potatoes were the right consistency of tenderness, nice flavor. They decor here is definitely rustic. Even though my daughter loves the food here she does not love visiting because the taxidermy animals bothers her. There are several rooms in the sprawling location. There is a bar set up in two of them, think saloon style. There is a large stuffed bear in the lobby and all kinds of furry guys throughout. They had a John Wayne, Western vibe in my booth today. There are all kinds of old pioneer regalia on shelves around as well. On my way out, I noticed a new fence with a enclosed backyard patio area. They are upgrading their outdoor entertainment area next to the stage, I will definitely have to be back to check out music in the future! Server was friendly and had good follow-up. Prairie house is always a solid choice for barbecue in The crossroads area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I went here with my dad for breakfast, wasn't busy at all. We were immediately greeted and seated. The staff was very nice. We both ordered The Homestead. The food came out fairly quickly. I wasn't impressed. The pancakes were extra thick but dense. for me personally if I eat thick pancakes I want the light and fluffy, not so heavy, but the flavor of them was good. It was a decent sized meal. Eggs weren't anything special just some scrambled eggs with cheese, the sausage patties were not good at all, seemed like they were reheated. But I would come back again the regular food looked delicious!
Update, as promised, we tried it again. I have to say that those burnt ends are in my top5 best. Those Cowboy beans with chopped beef and a couple of cornbread muffins were outstanding! My wife got the house special, prime rib. I the bbq. The prime rip was very rough and chewy. The brisket was dry (except 1 piece). The side were all good, the service was very good and the atmosphere was very Texas. We will try again.
PROs: Great location. Plenty of parking. Hostess was welcoming and friendly. Customer service top notch. Great menu options. Establishment appeared cleaned and orderly. CONs: Baked potatoes/sweet potato are not available until 'noon'. Our order was entered at 11:54am. Miranda, an excellent waitress, friendly and attentive. $56 (plus tip) we ordered Chicken Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish & decaf coffee. Fried Chicken meal was fine. The Fried Catfish was tasteless and bland, unable to finish the dish. And our side dishes were lukewarm.
I always have a great experience there. I’ve had times when something I ordered wasn’t right and they fixed it immediately and it was wonderful. I’ve made a mistake myself on an order and they corrected it immediately. The drinks are fantastic because the bartenders care if you want it different and they make it how you want it. The steak is tender! Luv it
BBQ and home made food choices make this restaurant a family eatery. They serve spicy corn bread for the table. The portions are always huge. So your $20 entree can be shared or taken home. The steaks are wonderful. We rarely get dessert because of the Main course helping sizes, but the chocolate cake or cobbler is very nice.
Great place. Great experience. Would go back. Lots to look at on the walls and the layout is cool, similar to Cracker Barrel vibes. The in person menu is different than the online menu so FYI, prices don’t match up the same. Would be nice if they served bread as an appetizer but sadly they do NOT. Would have to try something else other than the chicken fried chicken, for me the breading had way too much black pepper, but my brother loved it so yeah!
Great place for great food! We had pulled pork sandwich- chicken fried chicken- 3 meet bbq plate. ( brisket- ribs-pulled pork. The cfc was excellent & the lunch special which was a plus! The brisket was a little dry, but everything else was excellent. They also have live music on the weekends.
The atmosphere was so cool, we went on a night they had live music and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary. The prices were definitely on par with the quality of food. The drinks were delicious. They had a good selection of beer as well. We will definitely return and try more menu items. The desert was top-notch!
It was very good, so was the service and the ambiance. When we went it was right before Thanksgiving and we went alittle late so we were lucky to get in. Alot of parties before we sat down.

The food was okay. The brisket was tasty buta slight bit overcooked. I know brisket takes a long time to cook but it seemed a bit dry The baby back ribs were over cooked with a salty bark. While the meat was falling off the bone, that is not necessarily a sign of a good rib. You really didnt taste any smoke flavor on rib just some heavy salt on bark. Service could have been better. I was sat in very back corner where I was out of sight. Did not think I was dressed bad. Clean t-shirt and khaki style shorts. Probably will not go back again
First time at Prairie House - not impressed. Now, I’ve read several of the other reviews and I’m thinking that I didn’t order the right things - I went with the 2 meat special and got small portions of brisket and ribs. I guess it was at lunch, but I expected more. I think everyone goes there because of the location - nothing else around - but I’ll try it again and see if maybe the disappointment was a one-time deal. Food was good, just not great for the price.
Burnt ends app was cold. Waitress who told us she was one of the managers never offered to make new one or take off bill. We sent back half eaten. Chicken meals were good but not the best service!
Good food, but service is hit and miss. Really started the experience off rough when the waitress talked us into beer with our meal since still during happy hour. While eating our appetizers, she came back around and we mentioned about getting refills. She said she would do that after taking our order. So we order and then she comes back a few minutes later and asks about the drinks and we said we will take the same drafts as before. She leaves then walks back and says...oh by the way happy hour is over now, just stopped a few minutes ago. We were like...uh..we tried to tell you that before the food order....but also wanted to be polite and thought they would still take care of us. But guess not. Not the end of the world...but the food was great, forgot to take pics...but kept it at a 3 star because the waitress really killed the experience over something as simple as a beer. But I guess that is what reviews are for. Also hope one day the decide to bring back their bread cheese with raspberry jam. Been gone for a while now....but was a fan favorite for sure.
Must have been a new waiter as he was terrible. The food wasn't anything to brag about either. It was much better 2 weeks ago and the service was better so I think it was just the luck of the draw this time.
The food service was pretty slow and inattentive; the menu was very easy to read. Many of the crew members seemed tired, uninterested, and maybe not wanting to be there but they were ultimately helpful, and knowledgeable. The business was very clean and the decor was interesting and fun to look at. The food was mostly accurate, hot and just OK; I wasn't particularly impressed because the brisket and cornbread were a little on the dry side and the jalapeños weren't particularly flavorful. It was an ok experience. I am willing to return and try again.
Brisket queso was terrible but the chicken fried steak was pretty good. Server was good but I think he was overloaded
Service and atmosphere are so lovely. BUT I will say my family and I were very let down overall but the quality of food we received. We went for the first time not sure what to expect but excited, ordered the bandidos (fried jalapeño app) the options being 3 or 6 , so we were expecting I would assume something considerable and shareable (like 3/6 whole jalapeños) since it was an appetizer. We were surprised to see they were extremely small fried balls that had barely any jalapeños in them. Then with both plates we ordered our meats were over cooked. I was going to share with my 14 month old my grilled chicken but it was very tough and dry to the point I was worried for my toddler. We left hungry which has never happened before but it was just not a great experience overall. Perhaps we just ordered on a bad day but just sharing what happened for others.
My steak was delicious and the Service was good, although we did have to request water refills and we were never asked about drink refills. The huge disappointment was the onion strings. See the picture. But only were they not strings they were not crispy or very flavorful. I will not order them again.
I had been here a few years ago for a burger but this time we got two entrees and we were very disappointed because the food was not very good. It started with water, either they need to change their water filter or they must be using city water, but it tasted Not Good. We had the chicken fried chicken with baked potato and side salad. The chicken was very thin and the crust was ok. The white gravy was terrible, couldn't even eat it. The potato was good except there was a lot of foil in it from where they cut it to prepare it. The salad was good. My friend had a weird steak. It was like it was pressed together, like it had layers of steak. And it just wasn't very good. Bad cut of meat. Oh well, we will not return.
The experience at The Prairie House was overall acceptable, with some highlights and a few areas that could be improved. The best part was definitely the service from the young man who attended to us: very kind, helpful, and attentive, although he seemed a bit shy. His attitude and willingness to help were much appreciated. The atmosphere was quite original and traditional, clearly aiming for an old Western aesthetic. However, I didn’t find it particularly pleasant; some areas looked a bit run-down, and the upholstery on the chair I was assigned was torn, which gave a sense of neglect. On the bright side, the food had very good flavor, which is a strong point. However, the menu was somewhat confusing and hard to follow, making the ordering process less straightforward than expected. In summary, it’s a place with personality and good potential, but it could use some updates in certain details and a clearer menu presentation.

Really love the new bar area. Food was great the last several times we've been and the bartenders are really friendly and professional **Edit** I hate to change my review, but the last two times I've gone in and paid a premium for the prime rib it has been horrible and dry and overcooked. If you're an owner or manager and you see someone in your restaurant adding A1 sauce to prime rib you should literally run to the table and ask what you can do to make things right rather than rolling your eyes
We expected quicker service since after 1:30. Too much lag time between appetizers and meal. Also would've liked our bread sooner. Don't think our server was completely to blame she did great overall.
The first time I went it was great! I got a steak and asked for extra seasoning on the side and had no problem. I went tonight with my friend and after I asked for extra steak seasoning I was told they only use salt and pepper, I just said okay and ordered my steak medium rare and my friend ordered his medium rare as well. After receiving our steaks our waiter set them down and asked if we needed sauces and did not make sure the steaks were cooked correctly. My steak was so dry the meat looked white after cutting into it. My friends steak was cooked well done. After he sent his steak back he got a new one and it was rare almost blue rare, and after the manager brought it out he did not ask if this steak was better either he set it down said sorry and walked off. I hope my dogs enjoy my dry steak more than I did.
Been eating at the Prairie House for 25 years, at least once a month. 2.16.26 Family came in to eat, I got sick. The only thing I had that others did not was the house salad with Ranch. Which normally their Ranch is the reason to eat there, it's the best. I called the next day and ask for a manager to call me, explained what happen. I was not mad, stuff happens. But today I throwing the receipt out which reminded me of this... that manager could NOT bother to call me! That makes me mad! I did not want one thing from them, just to say, you might pitch the Ranch that day. I feel not being kind enough to just call me back, is so RUDE!
Loved the food, great atmosphere but after we paid our 220 tab with tip we had a server chase us down saying we owed $4. In front of multiple customers. Like I said food was amazing but will never go back.mind you the bill was 180 the rest was tip

I went yesterday and it was terrible. the chicken fried steak was overcooked to the point I couldn't even cut it with a knife. Mashed potatoes were "watery" and gravy had no flavor. Used to be…
We got the bandidos, they were okay but cold. Then we got the sirloin I ordered it medium and it came out rare, and cold in the middle, Mac and cheese was cold. Paid over $100 for 4 people and 2 people shared a steak they didn’t even get to eat. 10/10 would NOT RECOMMEND TRYING
This place is a scam. Only been here three times and got burned each time. I ordered a $13 quesadilla. The first picture is what I got — like a mini 4” baby one. For $13.. I went back and asked for a refund and they led me to believe they were making another one the correct size and explained “there was mix up on the size of the tortilla.” The second picture is what they gave me — a half of the first one. It was mostly beans and tasted awful. I want a refund please.
We had two orders. 1st my daughters had way too many chocolate chips in the pancakes, the scrambled eggs came in a huge clump and wasn’t scrambled at all. My breakfast came was the brisket hash which was good but the sunny side up eggs where slimy on top . I sent them back then they came back way over cooked. The coffee taste like they reused the grounds or cut it by half with water. We won’t be coming back.
We had driven past multiple times and always saw a crowd and decided to give it a try. We may have ordered the wrong thing but it was not very good. I had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. The only good thing was mashed potatoes and my partner ordered catfish and it was not good either. Maybe they serve better BBQ and steaks. I won't bother giving them a second chance it was really bad food.
We had two fillets the steak would have been good if they weren't cold the french fries were cold the broccoli was cold. They're understaffed we had to go get our waitress 5 times. Biggest joke of service ever. Thanks for noticing!!!
Have been wanting to try this place for some time. Came in on Christmas Eve with our family and the hostess acted so clueless. We had 5 people in our party and she sat us at a 4 top. I then asked to be moved to a bigger booth so our child could be more comfortable and she said “what booth?” There were 4-5 open booths. Then she walked up to another waitress and said “can they sit in a booth?” And the waitress said “are they here?” And they both looked around like it was the biggest problem. Our original waitress was then coming out with our drinks and was confused why they wouldn’t let us change tables. We left because apparently it was too complicated to switch tables for a family during a time that literally wasn’t busy. Such a shame for a small town restaurant to have this bad of service, especially on Christmas Eve.
Food was cold and sweet potato fries still raw. Our drinks are water down as if it was sitting in back for while and waiting to be served by our waiter. Very disappointed because we live 5 minutes away…
Ordered the catfish and I can say with total confidence IT SUCKED ! No flavor whatsoever. Breading was strange and totally mushy on the inside. I was literally mad. The smell of smoke was overwhelming.
Ordered Chicken fried steak. It was so tasteless & not fried at all. Said they had no mashed potatoes??? That was 🤪 Green beans also had no flavor.
First time ordering from here. Bison burger and chicken sandwich were very underwhelming but the baked potato they gave us takes the cake. Never again.
1st service slow!!! Sat for 8 mins before someone greeted us and took our drink order! And.....our food because we had time to look. Waiting on food order.........stand by for more......the server was very polite, which she was trying to compensate for her slow, poor service.
In ordered the Prime (which was $32) medium, but I got it rare, cold, and so gristly. I couldn’t say to anyone because no one checked on me. I got my salad and steak at the same time. I was charged for 2 Long Island Ice Teas when I I only ordered one. The funny part is the bartender called me liar but I said looked at the only glass in front of me. She did get it corrected. I’ve been to this restaurant 3 times in the last 5 years and regretted every time. Even the hostesses are not welcoming. I do NOT recommend and will NOT be back.
It cost the four of us (two adults and two children) $83 before tip to eat here $91, it was not worth even $30. • The restaurant reeks of cigarettes • The hostess couldn’t be bothered to stop folding napkins when we arrived to listen when we told her how many seats we needed then she about ran our 7 year old over as we were standing waiting for our other child to get down from the booth. We were standing there long before she started walking through. • Our waiter hardly checked on us and over charged us for things but never brought the itemized receipt before taking our payment. • our steaks were ordered medium and medium rare. The medium was well done and very fatty. The medium rare was medium both were extremely salty. • the fried okra lacked flavor • the mashed potatoes are instant potatoes • they burned our kids grilled cheese (along with the outside of both steaks) • the mac and cheese was bland • the queso is over priced and you get hardly enough for two people. Overall this was one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever eaten at and we will not be returning. We’ve always passed and saw the parking lot full and assumed the food must be good. It’s not. Save your money and eat somewhere else.
