A rustic fish and chips that is tuck at the corner..it looks totally unassuming from the outside but the place is packed early. The seafood is very fresh and portion is large. Will come again.
Best fish and chips in the South Bay, huge portions, very reasonable prices. I love that the same family’s been running the shop for years. In the wild world of running restaurants, it’s heartwarming to see this wonderful restaurant continue to succeed.
I cannot say enough good things about this lovely restaurant. The food is amazing, pricing is spot on for quality and market, service is above and beyond. Even the other patrons are top notch! I love going in with the family, sitting down to watch a game with our community. The staff works so hard tontake great care of you, best of all... their to go orders taste the same as dine in. You know what a feat that is!
Whenever I’m in Cali I look for those special little gems that I place on my go to list for good food. The City Fish is on my list. I had the blackened catfish with white rice and veggies. Everything was amazing. It was so good I ordered some calamari to go because I knew the flavor was going to be top tier. The portions are generous and the friendly family atmosphere is what I love in a place like this. I can feel the culture and how they put it into the food. My server (Tony) was as sweet as a young woman can be and she has a great future ahead of her. Five Stars all around. Go check them out. You will be very happy you did.
City fish is amazing for seafood lovers. Anytime I crave seafood this is my go to for fresh stuff. I love their food, I love how quick their service is and the staff is very attentive to you and explains the specials of the day very well. The atmosphere is very simple, diner style and Hu good for 4 people in a group. I am sure the can re-arrange tables to make room for larger groups. The clam chowder is yum, I even love their fresh sea bass and my kid enjoys the fish and chips. The crab cakes are great too. I keep cooking back here and if anyone loves seafood this is the place to be.
Wonderful restaurant. Food was delicious. I ordered the fried fish and fries, my wife ordered the tilapia platter with vegetables and Cole slaw. The food was delicious, the portion sizes were filling, the service was excellent and very accommodating. We sat at an outside table, enjoyed the beautiful day and indulged in the delicious seafood. This was our first time here. It's a keeper. I highly recommend this restaurant. ( See my reviews to compare and contrast with another seafood restaurant.)
This is me and my husband’s favorite go-to spot for seafood. To start with, we got the crab cakes which were so good. Then we got the oyster rockefellers with cheesy crab bread and a bucket of mussels in garlic wine butter sauce. That was so good, we didn’t take a picture. For our main dishes, I got the shrimp pasta in alfred sauce and my husband got the lobster roll. My goodness the pasta was cheesy through and through and they did not skimp on the shrimp. Absolutely splendid and will continue to come here for their seafood. Definite recommend.
We've now eaten here several times, always getting the grilled fish plates. Casual dining and simple decor, but prompt and friendly service. Generous portions consistently cooked correctly. The calamari appetizer is excellent - crisp with a mix of rings and tentacles. If you like a little zip, try the Spicy Ranch dip. Try the sweet potato fries. 4% CC fee (vs. cash), which they are upfront about. Can't comment on the desserts because we never have room!
We had a taste for fish. The City Fish came up on our radar. Seems like a lot of people love it. The atmosphere is easygoing, neat and clean. But...we came for fish. The menu did not disappoint. We went with seabass and catfish. The filets were sizable. The taste was spot-on. Portions for the sides were large. Overall, plenty of food. All for a great, fair price. Service was attentive, but not too much. Yes, we loved our experience.
We had a truly satisfying meal at this fish restaurant, both in terms of quality and quantity. The highlight was the grilled trout, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and served with two generous sides of fresh salad and seasonal vegetables. A particularly thoughtful touch was the way the salad was served: on its own plate and presented as an antiplate—a small appetizer-like dish to enjoy while waiting for the main course. It’s a simple yet elegant detail that added to the dining experience. We also tried the ciabatta crab sandwich, which is very delicious with crunchiness of bacons, well flavored crab filling , lettuce and avocado!
We placed our order, and moved outside to eat, comfortably quiet atmosphere, the portions are on the large side, everything was cooked perfectly, just the way I like it, note, if you prefer your seafood cooked on the lighter side, I suggest you let them know. Thank you, Tony and Javier, for the excellent service.
Have passed near this area many times and never knew this was here, found it on Google maps and decided to give it a try. Food was pretty good (a lot of items on the menu are fried). Service was prompt and very friendly. Atmosphere is nothing special, very informal but decent for a lunch or casual dinner.
If you’re in Cupertino and craving authentic seafood, this hidden gem is absolutely worth a visit. The quality and freshness of the food truly stand out. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and clearly prepared with great attention to detail. We started with their famous clam chowder, and it lived up to the hype—rich, creamy, and full of tender clams. It was the perfect comfort dish to begin our meal. Next, we ordered the grilled fish, which was perfectly cooked with a beautiful char on the outside while remaining moist and flaky inside. It was seasoned just right and served with a light garnish that complemented it without overpowering the natural flavor of the fish. The highlight, however, might have been the seafood pasta. Generously loaded with shrimp, scallops, and calamari, the pasta was tossed in a savory sauce that brought all the flavors together. The garlic bread on the side was warm, buttery, and crisp, making it the perfect accompaniment. While the food was exceptional, the ambiance could use some improvement. The space feels a bit dated and could benefit from a more modern or coastal-inspired refresh to better reflect the quality of the cuisine. That said, the service was friendly and prompt, and the focus clearly remains on delivering great food—which they do exceptionally well. Overall, if you’re in or around the Cupertino area and want to enjoy some truly delicious and fresh seafood, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. The flavors, portions, and quality make it a standout, even if the interior isn’t fancy. For seafood lovers looking for a satisfying and authentic experience, this place delivers.
I ordered the calamari and fish and chips, and overall, I was very happy with the meal. The tempura and fish were cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and super tender inside. While the fish was a little bland for my taste, the texture made up for it. The calamari was very flavorful, though it did have a bit more breading than I prefer. Still, the seasoning made up for it, but I would have loved to taste more of the calamari itself. The fries that came with fish & chips were the only letdown, not quite up to par, but they didn’t detract too much from the overall experience. I'd definitely return!
Amazing food and service! This is one of the best bay area seafood restaurants! Even though the outside looks a little bit sketchy, never judge a book by it's cover. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was fresh and ready 15 minutes after ordered. The environment was pretty clean, and there was no wait. Always happy to support a local business and with these prices for this quality makes it easily by with a 5 star review.
Service was decent, but the decor felt a little tacky and it was a little dingy inside. The prices are somewhat reasonable, but I was disappointed about how mid the crab cakes were. I had awful food poisoning from the aforementioned crab cakes and will not be visiting this restaurant again.
