Ernesto's Taco Shop has mixed reviews. Customers praise the food, especially the vegetarian burrito and handmade tortillas, and the flavorful green salsa. However, poor service and inconsistent quality (e.g., burritos with mostly fat) are major concerns.
Tip: If you want to try the food, order it to go due to the reported poor service.

Excellent ! Authentic flavors all the way to the wallpaper. Highly recommend the meat nachos - they were so good ( we started before we could snap a photo) ! - Rolled chicken Taquitos : fabulous - Tacos : Barbacoa was my fav, my friend encouraged me to try and wow 🤯 the chicken was also top notch Hidden secret menu gem: the corn (elote) / spicy or normal
Amazing service and the food was fresh and delicious. There was no wait to be seated and the food came out fast.
This place was absolutely amazing! I was looking for a good Mexican food spot and I think I’ve found my one! The Carne Asada here is always delicious. The Barbacoa is super tender and flavorful, definitely worth ordering if you stop by!! Definitely make sure to grab salsa while you are there! Their spicy salsa is 👌🏽👌🏽 but if you don’t like too much kick, their green salsa is tasty. Or if you like smokey flavors, I def recommend their Chipotle sauce!
My only complaint is I wish I had ordered more! We got lunch. We ordered the elote, the tres amigos tacos, and the al pastor tacos. All of it was tasty. They also have a counter off to the side with self-serve sauces - a few spicy sauces, green sauce, a non-spicy ted sauce, and banana peppers. The indoor seating area is colorful and cute. There is also barstool-style seating by the entrance, where the barstools face the big paned glass windows. There is lots of natural light throughout the restaurant, and the menus are big, colorful, and well-designed. I really like the pictures. It helps me decide! There are also beverages off to the side, including passion fruit juice and horchata. They also have some sweet baked goods (see photos). The cashier was very polite and easy to work with. Also, the prices are very low. We'll definitely be back! Thanks!!
traditional Mexican home flavor food. Love their salsa, encurtido bar.Tortas, chile relleno and chimichangas are my 3 faves. Have visited Ernesto taco shop since 2005 and is an obliged stop every time I come to South dade. Same flavor, good customer service, nice ambiance building has been remodeled recently that tells you a lot. In my opinion, if a restaurant survived pandemia it means is good and keeps it essence. Recommended 100%
SO DELICIOUS I WILL RECOMMEND IT TO EVERY ONE I EVER MEET, THIS SPOT HITS THE SPOT! We ordered 2 chimichangas one of steak and the other one of carnitas (cow cheeks) it was outstanding, perfectly fried. The seasoning of the refried beans are amazing, and the steak was cut delightfully to every bite. Never forget to order your flautas! Get the chicken flautas, trust me, best appetizer you'll ever have, we couldn't eat inside because of covid-19 BUT we were able to canvas the area, a nice outside patio and a gorgeous eating area inside, please see the photos below, as soon as I can eat in I will, perfect place for a nice date.
If you're looking for good, authentic, and affordable Mexican food this is it! They have a variety of Mexican dishes that can you can order and the price varies between $10-$20. I ordered the chicken nachos and the carnitas tacos. Place is clean, staff is friendly!
Best authentic Mexican food in the city. Everything here is made fresh and tastes amazing, I highly suggest anyone who is looking for real Mexican food to try Ernesto’s.
I had the Plate #1 (beef taco and cheese enchilada). It was excellent. Beef was shredded, with a good crust. Enchilada was perfectly cooked, firm not mushy. My friend had a chicken burrito which was also excellent. Too bad we're just passing through... We want to try everything on the menu. Friendly staff, clean restaurant.
I stop and treat myself every week at Ernesto's. A quiet eating retreat!!
Definitely a great spot ! Everything tasted good . Chips and salsa were fresh. The birria tacos and sopes were delicious! I loved the passion fruit juice. The service was great and food came out quickly! I will definitely be back !
This place was close to our hotel so we stopped in. Great food at a good price. We got 3 tacos with barbacoa. I didn't know it was cow cheek until after I ordered it, but I decided to go for it. It was so good! Try it!
This is my favorite Mexican food in South Florida. Not saying it's the best or most authentic, just my personal favorite. The crispy tacos are amazing. The taco shells are perfect, the meat is mouth watering and the toppings make it what it is. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is always very friendly. You get free chips and salsa if you dine in. The shop is decorated with lots of cool Mexican art. I've been going here for over 10 years. I live in Homestead where there is lots of "authentic" Mexican food but I still make the drive all the way up to Ernesto's when I want tacos.
Great Mexican in a central location!! We tried the chicken and steak burritos and they were very good, especially because of all of the toppings! We definitely recommend to anyone that wants a good burrito in the Miami area. Also, they are not currently doing dine-in (as of March 2021), so that is worth noting!
If you love Mexican food, you’ll love Ernesto’s! I tried their Wet Burrito, covered in yummy sauce, and it was amazing. The place is fun, the service is friendly, and the food is delicious. Definitely check it out!
Delicious chimichanga. Stopped in for a quick lunch and I was very pleased. Quick service, good prices, and tasty sauce. ... Since posting this review, prices have gone up significantly. I am considering other sources for my tacos. The employees are friendly enough, and the food is decent, but capitalism leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Also not many options for those of us who don't eat meat.
A little hidden gem. Food is delicious. Atmosphere is ok, nice little set up but mostly practical. Service could have been better and faster. A bit of a wait
Ernesto's is a fantastic taco spot! Their al pastor tacos are amazing, and the carne asada's great, too. They have a self-serve salsa bar with several different options, along with a pretty cozy little seating area inside for anyone dining in. The prices are definitely reasonable, too, with most of the three taco combos falling in the $10 range.
Really tasty Mexican food. But the place needs to come cleaning. It appears dirty. I only buy to go food.
Love this little gem. Food is top-notch, and the service is awesome. I used to call and pick up and always found my order ready. Now I show up and order take out, and the wait is like 7 minutes. All their sauces are amazing, fresh, and tasty. Go check them out, Tell them Marc sent ya.
Food was delicious. Good authentic food.
This place is like a regular Mexican taco place. The kids in the front are always gentle and the food is great. They have a lot of options but I mostly prefer the 3 amigos
So far my husband and I have only had the beef shredded tacos. We went 3 times in the same week and they didn't disappoint. They were so yummy and juicy and very filling for just 3 tacos. I wish I had a pictures but I ate it so fast 🤭
Great authentic Mexican restaurant. Can't believe I had never been here before. I thought you had to go to Homestead to find a spot like this. There's only a few tables inside but they do takeout also. A little pricey but worth it if you consider how few places like this are in Miami. I got the barbacoa burrito 👍👍 and my wife got the Fiesta combo plate which she was also very pleased with. My brother in law is legit Tejano from Texas and he eats here every time he's in Miami. (Don't know why I only took a picture of the hot sauce station lol)
Love the variety and they make it easy to order with the picture and price on the wall. I really liked the presentation of food, clean environment and large windows in front with stool seating and separated dining room. horchata was good and the crispy taco was pressed for an extra crunch
Food is pretty outstanding and well done - as it is worth the price to pay if you’re on a budget. In other words, the quality of food is great for people that don’t want to spend too much money on tasty food.
My favorite Mexican restaurant around and have been coming here for almost 20 years. Favorite things on the menu here are the green enchiladas, wet burrito, and the barbacoa and al pastor tacos. Never been disappointed with this place.
Hay burrito vegetariano 😋😋😋 La salsa verde riquísima 😋😋😋
The food here is absolutely delicious. Some of the best Mexican food to get without driving all the way down to Homestead. Their salsa bar is amazing and I’ve yet to have anything that is not good. The only thing that knocks it down is how rude one of staff members is, she must be related to the owner in some way for her not to have been let go but I bring it up as to temper expectations of any pleasantries.
Googlemaps is my go-to when I need to find a good place to eat, and the reviews for this place were great. The place is very low key, little hole in the wall, but the food was amazing! We had the 3 tacos al pastor and the 3 beef taquitos combo with beans and rice. Had the guacamole but did not care for it. They have a little condiment bar, and their encurtido and green sauce is so good. The only downside for me was the counter service, the lady seemed annoyed at my questions, not friendly at all. But the food saved the day.
At first sight the place is not very inviting, but I think we found our new casual taco place. It’s like homemade food. My husband loves Mexican and spicy foods and he loved everything we tried. We tried the Sopes, tacos and a sampler platter they have. The Horchata was pretty good. We’ll be going back soon. We visited on a Monday night, so I don’t really know how packed it can get. The place is not so big, but I would say that the yummy food is worth a little wait.
I really enjoyed this taco shop. I learned about it through my co-worker. I have driven by it thousands of times but never stopped to dine. I prefer the soft tacos over the hard though. We ordered extra meat. It was very seasoned and worth it if you like meat.
((((((Kendall))))) listen to me, mi gente. Food is above average but the service from the young girl taking the order is horrendous. Id fire this girl if I were the owner. Maybe she had a bad day and she really is a great employee, I DONT KNOW. All I know is that my experience tells me not to come back. Food was average had the Wet burrito and my daughter the steak burrito - Mexican. Hope you all have better service. Thumb up this review if it helps make a decision. The food is delicious. It's a great place for a quick lunch. I almost always order a steak Taco salad (you won't regret it), but to be honest, everything tastes great. I would it give a 5, but the physical place can use an improvement. Look past that and you won't regret it. 5 times better than the one at 152nd st and 137th Ave, hands down.
I love this place! Have been coming since I was little and hands down the best tacos in town.. I would give it five stars, but as of lately the lady that answers the phone makes the experience less enjoyable. I’m always so hyped to get my tacos, but I am absolutely turned off by the matter in which she responds and her comments. It doesn’t matter how good your tacos are, it matters more how you are treated.
I've been coming to this place ever since I was a kid with my parents. Seen the location go through a lot of changes over the years and I love the new mural that they have inside and the new menu board and all. I know nothing can be done about it but I really wish that the parking situation was just a little bit better and that there was actually a bathroom for customers to be able to use. I went here with a friend and the food was good and everything but they're always seems to be a slight little problem when it comes to the consistency of the food. I know it can't be always the same person that's cooking the food everyday so it is to be expected but sometimes you can kind of just tell y'know? Overall though I don't think anybody would really be disappointed in the food here and as a landmark and sentimental location for me despite the changes that it has gone through in the lack of a bathroom I still love this place to death but I'm giving it a fair rating of a four because it does have its minor inconveniences.
Real family atmosphere here. They dont have margaritas but food its good. I had 6 tacos in total and they were decent. Didnt tried their main dishes, but looking at everything and trying the tacos it was good. Restroom its located outside the facility in the back and need to ask fir the key to open. Have to order and pay on tge front and if you eating in they would take your food to the table.
Best Mexican food in Cutler Bay. Big portions and delicious plates. Got a bit disappointed yesterday. I was going to eat in but when I asked for water they gave me a small plastic cup with water. I asked the girl to please give us a pitcher since it was 5 of us (3 kids) and she said that they didn't have anything bigger than the cups. And that we had to get up and go to the counter for more. I changed the order to go. I wasn't going to get up every 5 minutes, especially eating spicy foods. Also, the little containers for the sauces (delicious, BTW) are way too small. Maybe some customer service improvement would of gotten them a 5+ stars
Great place, however I’m a bit disappointed since the chips they placed on the table were quite small for two people. We sat at two tables connected, and ordered two separate meals almost 30.00. Asked if I could get a refill on the chips and was told that it’s only one per table. Well my wife and I were sitting at two separate tables put together and they refused to gives us the chips so that’s why I give them 4 stars for being inhospitable.
I was skeptical to try it, but It was actually really good food. We were pleasantly surprised. Food didnt leave us feeling over stuffed or bloated. We felt satisfied. We ordered to go, the carne asada quesadilla. Service was friendly and fast as well. I will def come back to try other plates as well and may even update my review to 5 stars.
40 minutes for 4 tacos and an enchilada Trying to get past that the food was good. , the staff was great, and cute spot for a decent price .if you get anything definitely get lots of the sauces they are great. It pains me to leave a low review on a cute spot with nice staff but unfortunately the wait time just killed everything. and to top it off the cup tray collapsed (probably due to sitting there for 40 minutes and the condensation weakening the foundation) causing the passion fruit juice I ordered to spill all over me and the floor. Again the staff is wonderful and said not to worry about cleaning it up and refilled the juice. It seems weekends are nuts with Uber wats and they take priority so if you do eat from here just do Uber eats and order early that way your not stuck just sitting there waiting.
Have been here 10+ times. Service and food used to be excellent. Dissapointed with the new young cashier and her rude customer service skills. My family of 5 visited and were given an appetizer of about 10 chips. When I asked for more after ordering multiple meals, she rejected my request and said if we were a big family she would have given us a basket but since we were only us we only get that tiny serving and can pay almost $2 for another tiny serving. For a repeat customer who has never had that happen here I was pretty dissapointed. Its just chips but as we patiently wait for our food, it's all I can feed my starving toddler. Re-evaluate your customer service reps as they give a bad rep to your business. To add to it, a group of three young guys came in after us and were given plates of chips with their meals not even the mini containers and the other two small families (2/3 people) sitting in restaurant had multiples of the small chip containers. So I felt this was her just choosing to treat us differently for no apparent reason. I felt discriminated against.
Food is decent to good. However, the attitude and lack of customer service of a girl who answers the phone ruins everything for me! Made me want to cancel my entire order. No “how can I help” “anything else” “thank you” - NOTHING. Owner should really remove this person from their shop if they want to succeed.
I really enjoy the food here, super delicious, BUT! every single time I order a juice along with what I order for take out, it gets forgotten and if I remember right outside the restaurant I'm lucky and go back in and they give me my juice. Most of time however I'll remember when I'm heading back home, or whoever delivers my food doesn't receive a drink either to bring to me. One time would be ok, but this is like 99% of the time where my drink is forgotten. Sucks because their food is awesome but makes it seem like my drink is now their extra tip since they're collecting $4 each time. Id give service 5 stars if my drink wasn't always forgotten.
I can’t understand why my bacon is never cooked. I come here maybe once or twice a month for their breakfast burritos and almost always the bacon is never cooked. It’s almost like they put the bacon on the grill for five seconds and took it off. Unacceptable I will make sure to specifically ask them to cook the bacon next time..
This was my first time going here But I can say it's been atvthis location for years more then 10 years from this date , I made a phone call order and the tpyng lady who was taking my order was very RUDE , I came in to pick up order the same young lady ask me dud I place an phone order I said yes, I paid with my card and she put a piece of paper on the counter and said sign, I looked to the side it was 3 papers I ask one she replied the one I put down on the table, I told her it's three ,she rolled her eyes and picked the one O had to sign out the 3. Seconds later she ask so you want salsa O said sure , I waited and waited and she said what do you need ,I said the salsa the she pointed to a silver box , I told her it's my first time I did not know . SHE ROLLED HER EYES AGAIN. chicken quesadilla was good Everything else I ordered was not that great My First and last time
Food is good but customer service is horrible. The kids in the front can’t tell you the difference between the food they have and are sarcastic about it. I asked what the difference was between the wet burrito and an enchilada because in the picture they look exactly the same and his response was “one is an enchilada and the other is a burrito” we went back and forth a little and I asked him to get someone from the back to help. I almost left without ordering because of the rudeness but I’m pregnant and was hungry. I won’t be going back. Customer service is a big deal to me
The staff in there need to eat a snicker or something because this is my second time going there because I understand that people have a bad day but it seems like there day is like that always. The food is good but no one is going to eat at restaurant that has bad attitude. The corner store tacos are way better food and attitude.
Their service is good, very attentive, but the my al pastor tacos didn't look like any I've ever had, in a bad way. It got the job done but there are better places for cheaper or the same price. Which wasn't that cheap like other reviews say. I wouldn't go again, but it was worth a shot, some people might really like that place if they never had a real taco before.
I been here a total of three occasions, all three times the service is horrible, the young men at the register taking your order have a nasty condescending attitude. They're not warm and welcoming as your typical Latino restaurant and Latino culture. When you ask a basic question they look at you like you're dumb and their explanations of the food condiments are way off. I asked what a Michelada was and I was told it was a Beer with tomatoes, another customer explained what it was 1000 times better than the restaurant employee taking my order. Food: We ordered tacos de asada or steak to go and oh my god were they salty...they might as well be salt tacos. The food doesn't feel or taste authentic neither Asada tacos do not take Pico de Gallo. The Barbacoa doesn't taste anything like real Barbacoa, the Aguas frescas not powder based and just don't taste anything like the prices they command. Overall it's a no go for authentic Mexican food. The hunt continues for good Mexican food in Cutler Bay Florida. If you're the owner of this stablishment and you're reading this review please see to make some hospitality adjustments to your host taking orders, it will go a long way.
I don’t have problems with the food at this spot. It’s usually great. My biggest concern is a young lady who picks up the phone when you want to make a pick up order. She is rude and this is not the first time. It seems like she has poor people skills which is a must when you deal with customers. Hopefully she gets additional training or if she doesn’t like to deal with customers she should request to be placed in the kitchen or somewhere away from customers.
First and last time ordering from this place . Got the Birria tacos and they were the worst ones I’ve tried yet it was just pure meat fat in the tacos no flavor Whats so ever . It was just overall unpleasant in my mouth
When the man was taking my order I asked for enchiladas with GREEN sauce for my daughter. When it came the sauce was red and the man told me he didn’t give me it with the sauce we wanted because it was going to be to spicy for my daughter. If I order something I expect it to be what I asked for and not what they think I will and will not eat.
The person working the front in the afternoon of. 2/4 should not be in a customer service position. As the first point of contact, he was dismissive and unhelpful, creating a very poor first impression of the business. This did not feel like a one-time bad day, but a consistent attitude. Owner: please address this. The first point of contact sets the tone for your entire operation, and behavior like this will drive customers away. Someone in this role should be welcoming and willing to help within company policies.
I tried to give this place a 2nd chance. Yet, the tacos arrived like the 1st order. I ordered quesabirrias and they came with cartilage and cheese, instead of meat.
Ordered from Uber eats: Chihuahua burrito with just guacamole ( because they would add other ingredients when though the request is there) and received a tortilla with guacamole and five chips. It's clearly not a vegetarian option, I've never been this dissatisfied with this place as of today. Never again
I have been a frequent customer and today was the straw that broke the Camels back !! Their prices are extremely high and they charge for everything ! I ordered a 3 taco plate with rice and beans and asked for 2 extra tortillas and was charged $ 2.00 for 3 Tortillas And although I only asked for two apparently they only come in an order of 3 , Seriously?! They make them individually so why not charge .25 each because a pack of 20 corn tortillas cost $2 and since they are made “fresh” it’s even cheaper for them because you can make a whole batch for less than $2 !! Greedy, and Money Hungry!! Also the air conditioning was out AGAIN!! You’d think since they charge such ridiculous prices they’d have the money to fix the air conditioning properly. It’s ALWAYS broken!! Take some of the money and buy a new air conditioning system so your customers are comfortable!! Also, the ONLY person who is nice is the young guy with the glasses . The young girl always seems to have an attitude and the Older gentleman is very rude and unfriendly! The older woman that was pregnant is back now and she’s very rude also . I’ve always felt the prices were ridiculous but continued to come because my husband loves the food and they are convenient . The food is okay sometimes, I’ve had better for cheaper in Arizona! I’m tired of being robbed !! I’m Done
I have never had a problem here in the past. Today, 6/1/2023, I unfortunately had a server, Alexander, whom it seemed didn't want to trouble himself with my order. He refused to ask the kitchen staff for items I've ordered in the past stating they "were not part of their menu". It is only thanks to Camil and his consideration that I will return hoping for better service.
Anyone that has left a good review for this place has lost all credibility. In no way is this place worth a stop. The tortillas had a hint taste of fabuloso, they tasted floral. The salsa was strait out of a can and just bland. Really just overall a zero creativity, heat and serve bland restaurant. They don't even have the decency to provide a glass of ice for the bottle soda!
If i could give them -1 star i would be happy, but unfortunately i can't. This is the worse place ever! i found part of a roach on my nachos, so imagine how disgusted i was i almost fainted. You will think this is a joke but this really happened to me in this place. When i showed them the roach's leg hanging there on my nachos they immediately took my plate and threw it away. I was so much in shock that i didn't even had the time to processed what just happened, and i failed to take pictures or even record the incident. These people didn't even apologize to me and instead the guy at the register gave me attitude. They didn't want to give me my money back and of course i didnt want to accept more food from them. This place is nasty and should be out of business. I hope people read this before they go to this place, it was a complete nightmare. Trust me.
Can they hire new people at the front? We want to come back for the food but they have the UGLIEST GIRLS in the font with the rudest attitude. Who wants to eat where it stinks? They turn off the phone too so they don't have to take orders. Why are you paying for incompetent employees that don't know how to do their job? They would be more useful used as mops for the floors instead.
I been going there for YEARS and Till this day I enjoy the food so this isn’t a 1 star review for the food but the service if horrible and disrespectful. This is the first time and I’m not asking for chick-fil-a service nor I expect it in south Miami heights area but damn just have some decent customer service. At least be a little nice and stop acting bothered the people are walking in and ordering at the restaurant.
I waited almost 30 mins for my food…. I placed my order @4:09pm and the cashier David act like he didn’t care about my order. I polite asked how much longer for my food he had a whole attitude “ I told her to wait his customer service was horrible. I visit the establishment on June 02,2024
Never had an issues until about a few weeks ago. We had a large order for a birthday dinner(which we normal place). When we got back home with the food, someone found a hair in the food. When we called back to notify them of the mishap, they hung up on me & started ignoring my phone call. Terrible terrible experience. Never coming back.
The first time we came to this restaurant, the food was delicious. I had asked for a shrimp quesadilla to include vegetables, specifically onions and peppers. I was accommodated and my family really enjoyed the experience. Today was the second time and I requested the exact same meal. I was told they cannot add vegetables to the quesadilla because there was no way of putting it in the system. I asked several different ways if I could pay an up charge to have the kitchen staff prepare it how I wanted it. The man behind the register kept telling the employee translating in to English that they cannot do it. The employee translating into English suggested I get a side of onion and peppers, open the quesadilla, and put them on it myself. I ordered for the rest of my family and decided I was not going to eat. The employee that was translating into English apologized. I explained that what just happened did not make sense. He agreed with me, but no one offered to make the changes. I did not want to spend money on food I really didn't want. We are on a budget and felt like a waste of money to do that. I sat at the table and watched my family eat. I almost didn't write the review because some people might see this at petty, but the lack of customer service bothered me the most. I did ask my son how the chicken nuggets tasted, and he responded they were not good. The review of the food was not good. There was also a rude interaction between an older woman and the employee behind the front desk. The older woman wanted to ensure there was no meat in her order and the employee was making fun of her in Spanish and rolling his eyes. The older woman asked us for help and the employee continued to act in a condescending manner throughout the interaction.
3 of us came to eat a quick dinner. I started eating guacamole. It smelled like fish and was past its exp date, to put it nicely. The server said we had received the end of the other guac batch and gave us a new one. We decided not to eat it. The guacamole on the other 2 plates had to be removed so it took another 20 minutes. When my friend went to ask how long it would take, the server said he doesn't bother with customer feedback. Customer service is terrible. Just thinking I ate a spoon of guacamole makes me feel sick. I ate 1 of the chicken tacos it was okay, dry but edible. Won't return.
I have never left a review in my life. But this is outrageous The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Refused to listen to the customer even when THEY make the mistake. HALF of my order was missing because THEY didn’t give it to the driver. When I call, they didn’t let me completely explain myself before interrupting saying that all I was missing was sauces. When I disagreed he threatened to block my phone number and hung up the phone on me. Life is too expensive and hard to be treated this way by a business when they should have just said sorry! Give business to another company that truly values their customers.
Me and my wife went to this restaurant. We arrived at 8:45, when I went to order I was told it had to be to go only. They close at 9:30, which was in 45 min. The cashier said we could not use the dining room as it was already cleaned. Unbelievable service. We just turned around and went to another restaurant. Due to this bad service i will never return.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years however yesterday was the day I made the decision to never come by again. My family and I bought 3 desserts, which were expired. They tasted sour, I asked a team member to switch them out, and refused because I had took one bite. I asked for a manager said they weren’t there I asked for a supervisor the team member failed to get me a supervisor. They lost 3 customers yesterday because of this. And I will never be returning again, I didn’t ask for a refund just to switch them. I threw them away in his face because it wasn’t edible. Mind you we spent over $60 in food and an extra $15 on desserts that went in the garbage.
There was a homeless man who made the experience very uncomfortable. Restaurant did not tell the man to leave and it created a very hostile environment. Was very disappointed
The food was HORRIBLE. The meat was super chewy and there was a disgusting taste in my burrito. Not sure if it was the guac or sour cream but it tasted like plastic or something inorganic. Just go a little more south for good mexican food. this place is not it.
I came to have dinner today and the food was horrible the carnita asada was super greasy and burned the manager was extremely rud. I don’t think they had a chef. The kitchen was behind more than 30 minutes. The food came and I asked that I was missing a burrito and the manager response the world was not made in one day. I simply asked a question. The sauce tasted horrible. Not planning to be back again. We use to go to Ernesto every week I will never go there again. I have never seen this manager there.
Having just moved from Southern California we were looking to find replacement Mexican food and were sorely disappointed in this restaurant. I can eat copious amounts of food, but my burrito was so salty I could only eat half of it. The chips were so-so. The only plus were the salsas. In sum, we won't return and unfortunately cannot recommend.
I Went in there on 4/16/2024 at 3:50pm. I asked the young cuban man behind the register a question about the Tuesdays promotion and he responded in a rude and disrespectful fashion. He responded with a nasty attitude saying that i should already know what the promo is about and he did not know or care to look it up or help me in any manner. Then he continue to be on his phone ignoring me… smh. I would never give my business to any establishment that treats you that way.. i will make sure to let my followers and fan base aware of this place’s customer service.
My food was delivered with wrong items, no salsa, loaded with tomatoes which were not ordered and I hate tomatoes, meat so dry and tough from overcooked. The entire order had errors. Horrible food! I tried calling and the phone number kept disconnecting THEN...Watch your credit card for fraud charges after eating here. Someone attempted to use my credit card to charge close to $100 worth of cleaning supplies at the target a few blocks away from there. I have now canceled the card I used for the meal and disputed the charges. A new card is being issued. How dare you! FYI...this Ernesto's in Cutler Bay IS NOT THE SAME OWNER as the Ernesto's in KENDALL and COUNTRY WALK. Their food is excellent. We have eaten at those two numerous times and they have delicious food and I never had anyone try to use my card.
I'm going to be honest. All I read is says that the staff is rude, especially up front. This leads me to believe that this is a family staffed business, which means they are less likely to take action on complaints. I heard the food is good but with such poor customer service, why would I even risk finding out the hard way. I'll probably wait till the reviews reflect real change, which I doubt.
*POOR SERVICE* I placed an order through Uber Eats for a veggie burrito that’s supposed to come with rice, beans, pico, guacamole, sour cream, onions, and peppers. What I got was basically just pico and guacamole—nothing else. I called the restaurant, and the guy I spoke to got defensive right away, claiming he “remembered my order” and didn’t believe that all that came in my burrito. When I offered to send a photo to prove it, he got combative, then hung up and told me to call Uber like it was their fault. Terrible customer service—I won’t be ordering from this place again.
This food is so trash, they fix your food any kind of way , and Service is Definitely not good . Please do tho here , I’m asking for refund and it haven’t even been 20 minutes …. I looked at the food when I made it home , tasted a Spoon full & Immediately Wanted my Money back ….. NEVER AGAIN
First and last time here! The food was delicious , great portions for less than 10 bux until I found a hair in my nachos , I stopped eating my food . Didn't really feel like saying anything to manager so I rather have people read this. This place was recommended by friends...... I wouldn't recommend this place ... Simple as that
I ordered los tres amigos.. I can confidently say they are by far the worst tacos I have ever eaten.. tortillas were so stale they all broke in half.. this place has been here for MANY years, and it use to be delicious. I urge the owners to anonymously order there own food and taste it..
This place is absolutely disgusting I grabbed my food and it had hair in it I will never eat at this disgusting place again
What happened guys? 40 min to get our food ! And the 10 people after us all got their food . We had to go up to the counter and you guys forgot about us . Been going here for years with my fire crew . I noticed the boss wasn’t working today. Maybe if he was there things may have been better ? AND I also ordered 5 tacos to go and I should have opened the box but was in a hurry because we were running late …. And there was only 4 tacos WTH . And I left a pretty nice tip When I payed ….. uhhhh
