We went kind of late, so the lobby was closed but the drive thru was open. We ordered 2 chicken fried steak meals and they were great! I haven't eaten at Grandys in many years, will definitely go again soon.

Food was served hot and delicious. At first wasn't sure about going here but glad we stopped by. Staff was friendly and courteous would definitely stop again for lunch.

Great Food, and Amazing staff on site. Food was hot coming out the kitchen and had a familiar Grandy taste I had missed. Visiting from out of town and felt right at home with this Country Fried Steak, mashed potatoes w/brown gravy, okra, and those rolls. Amazing taste. The interior is a little worn down, but plenty of seating to sit down, and everything is clean.

I came through the drive through and was helped by the nicest young lady. This was on Sunday Nov. 16th at about 3:30. When I got to the window I was met by the sweetest young African american lady. She had the nicest smile and happy demeanor. Not what you usually get from a drive thru. The food was amazing. Chicken was juicy and the crust wasn't crunchy. If it was just kept up a little better. That why I don't go to grandy's, they are so run down looking. Corporate needs to have more pride!

The middle aged black lady at the drive thru and the very tall younger white kid were an absolute delight!!! Everyone should be blessed with staff like these 2...we felt totally at ease...at home even...and it wasn't just us but about 2 or 3 other "sets" of people were greeted with the same genuine friendliness.... by the time we all were done eating we all felt as if we had known each other and these 2 staff members for ages!!! A pleasant unexpected encounter especially in these times when everyone seems anti-social nd self absorbed with their phones. And tge food? Well it was every bit as good as I remember it being when I was a teenager 35 yrs ago!! We cant wait to go back.

The atmosphere is pleasant. The staff was very courteous and informative. They greeted me and my family with smiles. The food was hot and truly delicious. I ordered chicken fried chicken with coleslaw, baked beans, dinner roll, and Sierra Mist. I also ordered a catfish sandwich, with coleslaw, french fries, and a Dr. Pepper.My last order was a chicken fried chicken sandwich, with french fries and Sprite. Me and my family had a great time.

The only thing that I did not like was that they did not have a hash brown patty to be able to order separately and the lady behind the counter said they've been trying to get them forever and all that ever happens is they send them the same loose hash browns

They are trying to make improvements to the inside of the building which is good. The food is made to order depending on what you get. They no longer have unlimited rolls for dining in. They also don't give 2 rolls anymore, just 1. The rolls don't even taste as sweet as they used to. I only gave 4 stars because my brother likes this place.

It's been a while since I've been to Grandy's, since they closed the one in Shreveport and never had any locations in Austin, TX. Our cashier was kind of rude at first, but she finally "came around". The food was okay, although the cinnamon roll was nothing like it used to be which was a bomber. Restaurant was clean. Good location.

This place used to have an excellent breakfast bar. I tried it today expecting the same, but it didn't hold up to what it used to be. The Food was ok; they didn't have the steam table anymore, so once I received my food, it was lukewarm, and I couldn't enjoy it. The service was excellent from the moment I walked in. They closed at 9:30 but the business hours said 10:00pm. I drove to this location thinking I had time. Then the gentleman proceeded to tell me they was out of food, mash potatoes, & Tea. But however I saw one of the employees given someone who was sitting outside food and drinks as I was pulling off.. I had my on some “Grandy’s”

Arrived here at 9 pm Wednesday the 20th. My cousin wanted their pot roast....NOPE....OUT....she then asked for the dark quarter grilled chicken mashed potatoes green beans and peach cobbler. Price not too bad $. The young man said the inside closes at 9:30 pm and drive thru later. I was out by 9:12 pm went to door AND THE ENTRANCE DOOR WAS ALREADY LOCKED! 😞. I had to walk back in with food and a very large iced tea and walk out the other door! It really irritate's me when employees of an establishment locks the doors before its time to close....ESPECIALLY WHEN THE BUSINESS HOURS ARE POSTED...2 people were still eating in the dining room. I did not order food due to (worried) it would not be fresh considering from what I seen in the trays. My cousin didn't eat but 2 bites of the peach cobbler due to the peaches being very hard and her mashed potatoes had about a very SMALL TEASPOON OF WHITE GRAVY.....that's why a 3 for me....as for the cashier, the young man was polite but I did have to remind him of the peach cobbler (mmm a sign) but I already paid for it and she (cousin) was ill at home. I guess my suggestion GO EARLIER, MORE FOOD AND PROBABLY MORE FRESH!!! 3 🌟🌟🌟'S

We went at 6 am .... Eggs were VERY runny and cold ! Steak was cold and rubbery, couldn't eat either! Spent $25 and couldn't eat the main ingredients! What happened to Grandys? Huge disappointment 😥

Grandy's isn't what it used to be. The quality has gone down quite a bit. I really don't appreciate paying for the extra roll I didn't recieve either. The country fried steak is still delicious, and still my favorite thing on the menu. The rolls tasted like they had been sitting out for 3 days.

This is an old building with a nasty parking lot. Lot's of potholes to get the restaurant. The service is always the same, quick, nice, easy. The food is wonderful, of course, the Pot Roast rules the day. The place needs a remodel, maybe a smaller building, looks like a lot of empty space. Always feels dirty though (must be the building).

Very friendly staff. I was in town for the weekend and this was my first trip to Grandy's. It was okay. The staff was very friendly and helpful but I think Church's Fried Chicken is much better. I did really like the mashed potatoes and gravy and macaroni and cheese though.

I was bummed because the dining area is still closed. I love their Double chicken fried steak dinner and that meal is a immediate sit down and dig in meal. Not a drive thru and wait until you get home and almost cold meal. In which has happen before. 🤦

No free refills on oj. Super super small buffet, like 4 square feet. Hard dried out oven bacon. Soggy scrambled eggs, thank goodness for the shredded cheese and salsa. Greasy sausage links. Gravy and little pancakes were was good. Butter cups not even real butter and syrup served in warmed buffet tray.

This Grandys is a hit or miss ! The breakfast is HORRIBLE while the dinner/lunch is better ! They suppose to stay open till 10pm but THEY ALWAYS CLOSING EARLY! As early 9pm sometimes ! Grandys is not as good as it used to be. The BET combo I ordered had a great amount of bacon - but the egg was cold and the bun wasn't soft. Could be the location I visited, but I wouldn't recommend.

Please, check your box, do not leave without checking it. They sometimes get it wrong. There's nothing wrong with making mistakes because nobodies perfect but it's always a good thing to check your box. Don't rely on faith. No. It was a waste of gas going back.

I ordered 2 sausage patties & a side of eggs. Cashier rung up a combo to charge me $7.80. I received eggs that were severely over scrambled, In crumbles, & dry. I also received a patty hash brown that was in pieces & burnt. A drink did not come with this $8 plate. I was very disappointed in the product, price, & the customer service. I came 3 weeks ago. Wasn't great. Building needs improvement. I came today they won't open the door. 8:30am. I working in this area again. The employee just keeps walking by and refuse to pick up the phone. No hours on the door for Saturday service.

This place was closed down for several months. Looks like they should’ve stayed closed. Ordered the double southwestern grilled chicken. Got two pieces of boot leather and bad service. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Update: chicken cold, dry and hard as a rock. Corn undercooked, okra cold. I don’t know how you screw up fried okra and bread, but they managed to do it. Last time I ever go to this Grandy’s. Horrible!

I live in Oak Cliff and drove all the way to Grandys by Jim Miller rd. and it was something I will not forget. The coffee was amazing, the food was AWFUL!!!! I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO ASK FOR MY MONEY BACK. Not 1 or 2 things were bad, it was ALL BAD! I DIDN'T EVEN TAKE A PICTURE. BECAUSE, I WAS SO, UPSET.

Beneath even a one star. Hadn't visited a Grandy's in 15 years, decided to try something different on this date night. The order taker was unappealing totally, they had only two pieces of fried chicken, was told I had a wait on chicken fried steak, asked for fried chicken and was told there'd be a wait, ordered two cobblers and they only had one, ordered a diet dr. Pepper and they didn't have it, git to window and they got my dates side dishes wrong, and forgot to give us our drinks...all this on a Saturday night and the Saturday before Xmas eve. After a long day at work, this kind of service was deplorable. Will never eat at Grandy again. The final straw was when we tasted the food and NEITHER of us found it palatable. :( :( :(

I used to like coming to this location prior to them closing down and remodeling. The new employee's are rude. The food still taste okay, but the service is terrible. They ignored the customers at the counter, and they were only building their order for the drive-thru. We ended up leaving, and we went to Denny's instead.

Just went here and git the country fried steak meal. They gave me a burnt fried steak, burnt okra and mash potatoes when I didn't even order them. I ordered mac and cheese. The white gravy was cold! So mad for going here. Definitely stay away from this awful place!!

This was the worst food I've ever had and the structure is old and run down! Chicken tenders had no flavor. The mash potatoes and brown gravy tasted like it had been sitting all day. Clearly waste times for product is non existent. The Mac and cheese was deplorable! It only taste like soggy over processed cheap cheese sauce. Will never go back.

This was my go to place up for a quick but good bite up until 2 weeks ago. Ever since they opened back up the food and the service has gone to s***. Eggs were real dry the sausage gravy for the biscuits and gravy didn't even have pieces of sausage in it like it use to. I bought a chick fried chicken plate today and the gravy had big lumps in it.

I haven't had a pleasant Grandys experience in years. My husband still loves the chicken fried steak dinner. This trip he ordered the grilled chicken dinner for me. The chicken looked like small dry hockey pucks and my green beans had so much black pepper on them, I had to rinse and reheat them. The best thing about the meal was the rolls. I have asked my husband not to buy me anything from Grandys again.

Seriously the tea was toooo sweet. The restroom was just old it was 1/2 way clean but just old timey. The walk to the restroom was like stepping into the past and walking past ghosts of former patrons who ate there during the 1980's during a time where they seemed to be the After Church place to eat for reasonable price. As I walked through there I remembered the past and I realized that in the Restuarant game it's about Adaptation. This store with it's workers who seemed like Zombies who didn't greet nor say "Thank You." I got a piece of pie and she literally came from back somewhere. I wondered why the pie wasn't up front. Where I could see her prepare it or cut it? In anycase, I think this store should be closed down. It has nasty chairs, seats, the outside looked okay and I hadn't seen a GRANDy's in forever. But The workers do not care the chicken looked over fried. it was too dark. I know what the chicken should look like . I think that it's on life support unfortunately. Also the rolls were old tasting. They used to have the BEST dinner rolls. I used to just order them for whatever we were cooking . But I don't know the world has changed and in my opinion I wanted to vommit. I didn't eat all my food. I just tossed it. I asked for packs of lemon juice to offset the sugary taste but the packs didn't open properly the juice leaked all on my tray and it was Worthelss. Why can't they have real lemons? Anyway, this place is NASTY and should be shut down. For real. I will never go here.

The one star is not by choice. I wouldnt give them NO stars. Disorganized employees arguing which one is going to take our order. One was complaining about the time. There was no fries, no pot roast, everything. I dislike lazy employees. It's just easy for them to tell me they are out than cook. GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION!! I pull through drive Thur order 3 meals 2 chicken meals and a chicken fried steak meal ask for gravy on the side. Pull up and watch the young man pouring gravy on top. I honk the horn ask the you man that I paid if that was my order if so I needed it to have gravy on the side he looked back at a female worker that side something smart an then asked for me to pull in front. After 12 minutes I pulled back through drive thur to see food just sitting there!I Immediately ask for my refund cause they purposely had my food sitting there getting cold while they washed the floors.

Went in the evening on the weekend, inside closed, drive-thru only! Had customers walking up to the D/T to complain about messed up orders (in the drive-thru), while customers where in the D/T. When we got to the window, we didn't receive a receipt, just in case if we had to come back, they ran out of condiments, and food wasn't cooked good. Cashier was rude & made like he gave us a receipt, then when we asked for another, he printed out one w/o any information on it. So we asked for the corporate number & they said they didn't know it or have it on hand. Smh So had to Google the Corp. HQ information. Found that information BUT after reading the comments/reviews, the majority wasn't favorable & not just in TX. All over they had complaints & No response back from a national fast food chain. Won't be wasting my money again.

I went to this location yesterday through drive-thru to get a chicken fried steak mashed potatoes and corn and roll up on checking my things when I got home in the car I looked at my role dinner roll and it was bit all off like a rat or something had been chewing on it so I had to turn around and go complain about that they act like they had a problem with giving me another role and I also asked for a cup of ice they act like they didn't want to give it to me they didn't give it to me at first when I asked for it and he said ma'am why do you keep saying that it looks like a rat beat it that's what it looked like they had a funky attitude I don't think I would really eat. I don't have a Grandys near me. Drove 30 minutes for a Southwest Grill Chicken dinner....mouth watering, couldnt wait....for the guy to be such an A because their systems are down. He didn't give 2 cents...just left me hanging!!!! Extremely disappointed!!!!!!

Just left at least 15 minutes no body came to the counter or drive thru walk in Flys and no one up front. Get workers 🙄 that knows someone has to stay up front for customers we already loosing locations to choose from

In the late 70s grandys came on to the scene ..there was a reason for about 10 years it was the place for dinner ...and excitement.... I saw a grandys and immediately got excited....walked in and was immediately disappointed.... Now i know why the restaurant is empty run down and lacking in everything from service and food...it would be a greater service to close it then keep it open...sigh...so much for child hood memories ... Dont go!

Went to order food at about 8pm this past Sunday. I ordered 3 kid meals. The cashier said all they had were breast. I said okay and also ordered several other meals. When given a total of 21 dollars, I explain that the total was I correct. I was told to drive to the wi dow and asked to repeat my order. The cashier said we don't have any legs and I said it's okay just give them whatever pice you have (breast). She said then it's not a kid meal and it will be an extra 3$ each meal. I explained that it's not my fault you don't have any legs, so why do I have to pay extra. I said then cook more chicken and I will wait. The cashier then told me it would be 30 to 45 min to cook the legs. I tod her that it does not take that Lin and I was told unless I want it raw it will be 30 to 45 min wait. So I just left. The cashier was very rude and customer service seems to be the last thing on this store list. This is my second terrible experience at this Grandys. I thought it was because the sfatt was new...but they are clearly not interested in retaining customers. I have been going to this Grandys for 40+ years and I really think I am done. These are definitely not the same employees with the same standards. Just fyi.

I haven’t been to Grandy’s in years now I know why I never went back. It’s still the same took forever to give me my order and there was nobody in front of me. My pancakes were disgusting cold and hard. Everything was disgusting. The woman didn’t do my order, right She just gave me a sausage biscuit can’t give me no coffee no nothing it’s just I’m not going there no more I didn’t even enjoy my food. First of all let me start off saying I hate that I didn't take a picture of the horrible breakfast that I received my burnt bacon my cold pancakes my overcooked steak and when I told one of the ladies that the pancake was cold she tried to tell me that they were warm. I told her they not warm enough for me and I had to repeat, over and over asking for my condiments for my breakfast once again I truly regret I did not take a picture of this horrible breakfast and I let my niece eat a little of it because she was hungry I was so disgusted that I wasted my money. I'm looking at the ladies, like I know y'all see this bacon is burnt, not crispy but burnt. Maybe they're used to serving this type of presentation in this area but I'm not used to that, not for $11 anyway it is Sunday morning I order my food about 8:40 a.m. and I mean I'm just disgusted I really don't want to do surveys and reviews but this this is the worst and they are representing your company Grandy's so if y'all are okay with it I'm okay with it I'll never come back here again!!

Food was old and not even hot. I threw my order of old cold grilled chicken meal with mashed potatoes and 2 many times fried okra. I also had a cinnamon roll that was not hot and the bread was old. I was the only person there, which should have been my first clue. I wish I'd read the reviews first. Sigh! I hate waisting money.

Today is the 3rd and last time I visit this Grandy's! The experience is deplorable! The drive thru will only complete 1 car at a time! They take an order, get the money, give the food, the customer drives off, and you still have to wait 5 minutes before you are able to place your order through the speaker!!! There are 3 cars waiting in line at the speaker. They would not take the next order until the previous car has ordered, paid, and drove away! This happened each time. No one says "Welcome to Grandy's" once you get to the speaker. It's silence. YOU have to ask if someone is there and then they come to the speaker and tell you just a moment. My "moment" took 16 minutes and for 5 of those minutes, there was NO car in front of me! Who knows why I was waiting! No reason for the wait and no apologies given. HIRE a new drive thru person please. I have relatives in that area and I've been there for decades! It's never been this rude or bad.

The fish was horrible. The fillets were so tiny. Not worth the money.You use to have nice size fillets What happened? Will not buy again.

Went there today. Told the girl 4 times what i wanted. They STILL got it wrong and gave me attitude over THEIR MISTAKES. After the 3rd time repeating myself, i told her she needed to pay attention. It started with cashier leaning on the cash register with a i don't really care attitude. was messed up both orders. the water had a sour after taste. to meat being room temperature and serving size for a child. the white gravy look like a pile of spoiled milk.

If this is the location in North Dallas, not in Mesquite Texas. I must say They were not only rude but they were also closed almost an hour early, the location that was accommodating and communicated with us until we arrived at there location that was 15 minutes away in Mesquite will easily get 5 stars. Unfortunately I have not yet ran across that location of places I've visited, but when I do I will make sure to maximize on how they did team work for an entirely different store location. To make sure that the customer/ consumer Left satisfied after such a disappointing visit from the last location.

The positive reviews here are clearly family members or biscuit addicts. I truly went here. And was shocked by the 70's dining room and lack of customer service. I'd rate it negative 800, and thats still being generous. After paying and hating myself for staying, the cashier slammed my coke cup down. And 20 minutes later, slammed my tray of "breakfast goods" down. Seeing the body of Jimmy Hoffa slumped across the 4th unworking fryer in the kitchen was the only redeeming thing I can think of. Cause as the cashier continued to care less about me, I kept thinking I'm so calling the FBI and solving a huge mystery, if I survive this meal.

Just went got sunshine platter i get my order the mexican lady ask if i want any jelly i got one foe my order put it in the bag aand went home get ready to eat no syurp in the bag im like really her are the guy that prepared my food is the blame make sure people have everything that go with what there eating them two been working there to long to make simple mistakes

White girl running drive threw acted like she wanted to be anywhere in the world besides their I ordered chicken sandwich chicken was hard enough to drive nails in the wall with do you use it a hammer if I would like it I would post a picture of it but it says I can't do that .... Keep driving don't waste your money at this location

Absolutely disgusting! Stopped to get breakfast to go. What exactly is this? Supposed to be chicken, but its a grayish brown patty. Inside didn't even look like meat. 🤮 The inside of the restaurant looked awful. Paint on walls peeling off. Definitely run down. The only reason I gave them a chance is we had a huge camper & it was the only place we could park. Next time we will just be hungry. Yuck!

Wanted some chicken drove two hours and pulled over to Grandy's. Very very disappointed got some chicken two wings look and taste like it been out for two months. The fish was fresh and delicious with the potatoes. The green beans wasn't seasoned good. The sandwich was ok the grilled was all dried up very disappointed
