Absolute favorite Tex Mex spot in Dallas. The valet crew, the managers, the servers, the chefs, and everyone else involved at this establishment makes the experience amazing from start to finish. My family has been going to Mia’s for decades and have left happy every single time. Whenever anyone flies in from out of state we take them straight from love field to Mia’s for their Tex-mex fix. Don’t skip the mole or the mango margs!
Get the brisket! Either in quesadillas, tacos or enchiladas, the meat was so flavorful and tender. Wonderful service. Chips and salsa were on point. Will definitely be returning soon.
My family’s favorite restaurant in Dallas! Diana is the best waitress we’ve ever had. Been coming here for 30 years and the food/service is top notch! The best things on the menu: Sunset Sauce (spicy queso) Brisket tacos Lucychanga (chicken fajita chimichanga) with Sunset Sauce 50/50 Sunset Fajitas 50/50 Nachos Salsa Tortillas
Mia’s has a very extensive menu. It was great service and a fun atmosphere. I had the chorizo queso appetizer which was a lot of food and delicious. I got the pollo mole for my meal and subbed the rice/beans for salad. The chicken was on a bone but extremely tender and the mole sauce was very flavorful. The chicken fell off the bone with ease. I would get this again or try the chicken mole enchiladas next time!
Love this long-standing establishment! PERFECT thick and not runny queso! I'm fascinated that a long time addiction, Topo Chico, is now being found more places!! Mia's happens to be one of those places! Sour cream chicken enchiladas spot on in flavor, just as the beef burritos, wrapped perfectly for lunch portions and enough to take home for later! Atmosphere is exactly what you'd want in a casual Tex-Mex spot! Mia's is doing it all right, hey, if they weren't they wouldn't be around as long as they have!
Went in with low expectations but what a delight. The food was just excellent. If you've got to do Tex Mex then Mia's is the place to go. Even the Coke is from Mexico. Btw go well in advance as the place is generally full and parking is an issue. Give your car to the valet in the front and just get in to start feasting 😊
Great food and service. Drinks were reasonable. Food came out really quick.
I have been coming here with my family for years and it is always good. Food is amazing and super flavorful, there will always be something for someone to enjoy. The servers are extremely nice, and fast on their feet. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience here!
The absolute best Tex Mex in town. The managers, servers, and valets are all wonderful people that make you feel welcome.
Excellent Food and Great Service. Highly recommend! Brisket Tacos are wonderful 👍
This place was great! My party and I had a wonderful time. The service was great. We had questions about the mole and the server was quick to bring us a sample of the sauce. He was so attentive. We asked for additional hot sauce and he brought us a verde sauce and a habanero sauce. They were both out-of-this-world delicious and when you combine them, even better!
Awesome food. Good margaritas. Never disappoints!
Great place. Nice friendly staff. Went there mid-afternoon on a Wednesday and there was plenty of seating. The food was excellent — from the homemade salsa and chips to my cheese quesadilla to my friends brisket tacos (which are a signature dish of theirs). Price for two of us: $21.87. Very reasonable and highly recommended.
I came to Texas so I could eat brisket and Tex-Mex. I got both with the brisket taco and it was amazing. I liked that they brought out small bowls of chips that were fresh, and kept replacing them as we ate them without asking. My family also enjoyed their meals and my wife really liked the margarita with Sangria.
Truly 5 stars! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 I had a little time on my hands waiting for an appt so since I love Mexican food I stopped at Mia’s for lunch at a friends suggestion. I ordered cheese and onion enchiladas and a brisket taco. SO GOOD! Had lots to take home with me too! Their chips were very good and I’m not a salsa aficionado but I liked it 😊 Now the service? Wait staff, valet…. Outstanding. Courteous, prompt, attentive…. Told my husband it’ll be a great place for date night! 💕
What food is texas best known for? The answer here is bbq (specifically brisket) and tex mex and boy does mia's understand both. A breakdown of my favorite dish from the night below will explain why: 1. Meat - the brisket on the chips on the right was perfectly cooked, seasoned excellently and overall amazing 2. Cheese - the cheese on these nachos was fresh and delicious, can you go wrong with melted chest 3. Chip - perfectly crisp, no sense of sogginess, perfect density this is probably the best nacho I've ever had Honorable mention - salsa: I'm not ashamed to say I inhaled this salsa, I might have genuinely drank it, it was that good. There's been a few meals in my life that I've thought were life changing and this was one of them. It was so good we literally came back the next day. It was also special because it was a reunion of friends I hadn't seen in nearly 4 years. I will be back Mia's and I highly recommend if you're in Dallas go asap.
We had a great experience! The restaurant was so accommodating to our party of 11, including 2 babies/stroller/wagon. They had great vegetarian options for our family and the service was awesome. The baby changing table in the bathroom is great!
Went to Mia’s on a late Saturday afternoon before the dinner rush and feasted on delicious brisket tacos. I like them with flour tortillas and my husband likes them with corn. The tender brisket is cooked to perfection and the au jus puts it over the top. Generous slices of avocado and fresh made pico and onion on the side finish this heavenly delight. This Dallas classic blows the chain restaurants out of the water. It’s a converted old house, not at all fancy, which adds to the charm. On your way out, pick up one of the yummy pralines to enjoy later once you recover from the full meal. Highly recommended! They get super busy at peak times, so expect to wait or go early or at off-peak times.
Irma’s Special and the Enchiladas de Mole always hit the spot. Silviano was a phenomenal server -very attentive and checked back at the right times. We like that they have valet but for those who don’t -something to take into account.
My favorite TexMex in Dallas as in my not so humble opinion, nearly every item kindled memories of great Mexican Food ( they weren't called Tex Mex in the late 60s) places from my growing up in Fort Worth, and several of those places are gone now. The cheese enchiladas are amongst the best I've had and the chili they put on the enchilada and tamale is what I miss the most and why I went to Mia's last night. I live in Los Angeles and the Mexican food there isn't bad but the best place I've had wouldn't make the top 10 in Dallas-Fort Worth. Recently I realized a big part of that is that the enchiladas are covered almost always by some sort of red sauce, some being much better than others, so it can be good; however no place I've been to in California covers their enchiladas with a chili con carne good or bad, it doesn't appear to exist out there and that's what I love about Tex Mex.
Had a wonderful experience at Mia's with delicious food, great service and drinks! The mango margarita was delicious and would definitely recommend it WITH the Tajin. Enchiladas Verdes and Fajitas were all flavorful and presented perfectly. A great spot to fix that Tex-mex craving for any day!
We wanted to try a new Dallas Texmex place and came here for dinner, and overall it was all good! Our favorite was the appetizer queso chorizo. I got Mexican dinner and my husband got Gabriele’s and both were very good. Honestly nothing super special, it almost feel like identical to El Fenix but because of that I liked this place. Service was a bit slow compared to any other texmex places tho. I typically don’t like valet so it was a bit eh there as well. Still was a good try!
I’m am so sorry I am a 1987 high school grad and I have never been here. Finally. “This is The Tex Mex of DALLAS” OMG this was great Friday night 40 min. Wait first cone first serve. We had the Jack Hongos and actually we should have stopped Thee. My son had a Guadalajara dinner which is fabulous he said, I had the brisket tacos which were outrageously perfect. I live in Denton Texas but can’t wait to come back thank you so much Gracias.
Delicious food love the brisket tacos the best I have ever had!!! Nice staff, small crowded restaurant but it doesn't really matter once you taste the delicious food it makes up for it. And they have very fast service. A plus is that there is a valet service that is complimentary. Overall great place.
Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Dallas! Taco Tuesday at this place is something we eagerly anticipate each week. The brisket tacos are out of this world and the special chili relleno they offer on Tuesdays is simply unbelievable. It has become our favorite night of the week! The staff is incredibly sweet and always goes above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. If you're in Dallas, this is a must-visit spot for an unforgettable meal!
This place is the best. It’s og tex mex and is the best place in Dallas to get brisket tacos. It comes with a meat Au jus to dip the taco in and you won’t regret it. The service is always quick, and very friendly. We are never disappointed when we make the trip over to Mia’s. Tea, chicken, tortilla soup, and the appetizer platter were the perfect amount of food! Can’t wait to go back.
We wanted some Mexican food while on vacation in Dallas. We looked up the reviews for this place and decided to try it. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. I mean everything was Soooooo Delicious! Even my daughter, who is such a picky eater ate ALL OF HER FOOD.😁 DEFINITELY WILL Return when I'm back in the area.
Valet parking is available here. Very busy during peak hours, but that's a good sign... that means it's work any wait. Great food, good customer service and this is a family friendly environment. I'm definitely coming back soon! They are famous for their brisket tacos and for good reason. I thought 2 tacos wouldn't be enough, but it was very filling. The staff is super amazing and acknowledgable of the menu.
Visited here when we were on a trip. Loved the food! I left my purse on the chair and the manager and our waitress Diana have gone above and beyond to make sure I have gotten my wallet and purse back. The best customer service.
Found one dish I loved (camarones a la diabla) and just for that I went back another time and will keep going back when I crave that dish. I've tried other things some good, some standard but nothing bad. The frozen margaritas aren't good for my liking but no deal breaker. The server was attentive and friendly. We'll definitely keep going back. Ps. Parking is valet but it's free on the street if you find a spot .
This place is awesome... the service is fantastic... the food is great... I suggest the brisket on or in anything, covered in the mole' sauce... brisket chimichunga with mole??? Yes please!! Normally I despise anyplace that forces you to valet and i avoid them, but there's street parking, and the valet are mature acting so you're not handing the keys of your 150k car to a 19 or 20 year old... We go here often for lunch... highly recommend it...
We had a great experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served hot. The salsa and chips were delicious, and our meals were perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming.
Tuesday chili rellenos are the best in Dallas! I wish it was not only Tuesdays, but good enough to make plans to get there. This place has been in bushes for a long time and the food is consistently great. Highly recommend.
I love the atmosphere here and the food is great. The salsa is on the spicy side, which is a huge plus for me! The flautas are delicious, the enchiladas and tacos are amazing. Love it all!
It was a bit loud on a Friday night, especially the table of annoying, roaring laughter from one table behind us. We arrived with no reservation about 7pm, and waited only 15 minutes for a table, during which time one of us had a margarita at the bar. Our server was a real pro--quick and attentive. My son's chile con queso enchiladas were great, but my brisket tacos were amazingly good. Yum!! My only complaint is that the chips are not great. Salsa was nice...and hot!
Mia's has the only skinny frozen Margarita I've ever had. The service is always impeccable and food always comes out delicious, as well as very fast! I used to live near this restaurant and when I'm in the neighborhood, I'm sure to pop in for a meal and drink.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I came because I heard the brisket tacos were ranked some of the best in Dallas. They did not dissapoint! Our server recommended anything with the sour cream sauce. Recommended the Reuben plate with a brisket tacos and a chicken enchilada with sour cheese sauce. It was so delicious! Highly recommend this place! It all smelled amazing.
I’m from Houston, where the best Tex-Mex is, so when I say this place’s food was good, that should mean a lot. In fact, this is the first Tex-Mex restaurant in DFW (besides the chain, Rosa’s, that I’ve given 5 stars to yet- and I’ve lived here for ~5 years. Cons: -The chips were a little too thick/tough -Not enough rice was given for the lunch special chicken fajitas -The parking lot was full, and valet-only, so we had to park 2 blocks down on the street in front of some houses Pros: -Juicy, marinated chicken fajita meat -Fluffy, fresh-tasting tortillas -Good onions with the fajitas -Nice staff -No wait to be seated -Spacious restaurant
Mia's Tex-Mex Restaurant in Dallas is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Tex-Mex cuisine! The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it perfect for both family dinners and casual outings. Service is consistently praised for being friendly and attentive, contributing to a dining experience that feels like home
Mia's is the originator of the brisket taco - and for that it deserves a visit by any Tex Mex aficionado. It also has some of the best frozen margaritas served in Dallas. The salsa is spicy but without any cilantro. The new location just up the block from the original on Lemmon is great. Outdoor patio seating with heaters is available. This is a go-to place when out of town guests visit and want to try good Tex Mex. UPDATE: as of 8/22/25, still the best margs in Dallas!
A great Tex Mex establishment with a family atmosphere and a large, bright dining room of many tables with a bar at the entrance. The brisket tacos were great along with the frozen house margarita. We arrived without reservation on a Friday evening, and though it was popular they were able to seat us after one drink. There is a small valley parking lot next to the building and free street parking nearby.
This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Dallas, especially here in Oaklawn! We come here as often as we come till o’clock, and it’s always wonderful and very festive and this time of year it’s even more festive! We are all as treated wonderfully well here and the food is always really tasty and they do the food the way you want your food done, not just done! It makes it most excellent, most excellent, not only to come here, but to Dine here!
Came with a friend for lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They offer valet for parking and upon entering we were seated immediately. Our waiter was attentive and provided recommendations on his faves from the menu. The food is brought out quickly so it makes for a good choice if you’re on lunch and need to return to work timely. For drinks, I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita (sugar rim) and the drink was delicious! The guacamole dip was fresh and chips/salsa very good. I decided to go with the chicken fajita chimichanga topped with queso. The chimi was filled with chicken and bell peppers/onions! Rice, beans, sour cream, and guacamole came on the side. I rarely ever order chimichangas but I enjoyed it! My friend enjoyed his food as well! I will return to try out other menu items and drinks!
This place is phenomenal. I understand why there was such a large wait by the time we left. Food is excellent and they have fantastic service. Honestly some of the best chicken fajita style meat we have had in Dallas. The best part is the price. Nice portion for quality food at a low price. 💯 Better than a majority of the "up-scale" locations. Try it. You won't be disappointed 🤝🍻 Update: I keep coming here and it continues to be phenomenal 🤤👏🤌
Mia's was recommended by a few local friends as an authentic Mexican food place. Our friends urged us to give them a try so we drove the 15 minutes over and it was fantastic. The food, service, valet and atmosphere did not disappoint. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!!! We enjoyed the Mia's Sampler, brisket tacos, a brisket chimmichanga and a tres leche's cake. This place was straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just the best Tex-Mex in Dallas. Fantastic flavor, good atmosphere , you might even want to bring a friend and start a tradition here.

Best brisket tacos ever! This place has been my favorite in DFW for over 25 years now. You just can't beat the Brisket.

My uncle and I came here for dinner. I had the brisket enchiladas and he had the brisket tacos. We both enjoyed our meals. The service of the staff was great. We will be coming back again.
Brisket tacos are the truth! Able is a great waiter! Great time to be had with friends and/or family. Fast service and didn't take short cuts on the hospitality!

Basic Tex Mex like El Fenix introduced to Dallas 110 yrs ago. Lunch specials are very expensive compared to other restaurants these days. Bean soup is good. Beef taco, enchiladas with chili sauce all good. Fresh made. Flavors are mild as is the salsa which for most native palates is bland these days. Service right on. Perfect for visitors from the North who want Texmex - music, atmosphere full on with food that is good, traditional but mild.
If you are looking for a good tex mex place- look no further! This was a nice place to celebrate my friends birthday. Parking is a little limited but they have valet parking available. The margs are good and they have unlimited chips and salsa! I got the chicken fajitas- which was a lot of food and I love that they had potatoes with it too. Prices were moderate but they do give you a good amount of food. My friend got the brisket enchiladas and really seem to enjoy that. The place was packed and overall we really enjoyed our experience there
Everything was great except there was only valet parking available and we were there for lunch. Our food was really flavorful and good. My margarita had dirty ice and Tahin seasoning in the maragarita (I asked for salted rim only). The waiter was super nice about it. My side comment: The prices are too high for the level restaurant this is. It's like that almost everywhere, but it feels like gouging now. I understand that businesses have to charge what people are willing to pay. We just go out to eat less often now.
Food was standard Texmex like we used to eat back in the 80s. Margarita was served in a large glass. A bit too sweet for me though. Chips and salsa were very good as was the service.
Went there for brisket tacos and they did not disappoint! My husband got tamales. He loved them too. The surprise was the beans and rice. Usually they are an obligatory side, sometimes good sometimes not. Both were very flavorful and the rice was tender and fluffy! The hot sauce was good. Margarita was not in a fancy glass but delicious. Typical Mexican beers. The service was great! Decor is typical loud colors. Our complaint is the entire parking lot is valet! Why? Most people are parking down the street and walking.
Chimichangas are here! Wish it was split into 2 small deep fried burritos like how they do in the Midwest; had a lot of meat 😩. Overall great quality Texas Mex. Has a different feel at this new location compared to the smaller, cozy spot they were previously at. Would’ve gave 5 stars for service but the server was rushing us. You can’t miss here regardless. So good 😊!
The food was good, as I remember from years ago. The ambiance has improved from the previous location, still maintaining its Mexican heritage. The service was really slow. It took a while to get the food orders and a lot of time to get our food. They seem to be short staff. This was a Sunday night around 6pm.
Speedy service, they get you in and out, although we stayed for a while, catching up with friends 🧡. The chips are a little crunchy 😋 and good salsa. You can purchase several other salsas for your table. I enjoyed the made in house tamales and my chicken enchiladas. I wasn't a big fan of ground beef taco (flavor needed). We did like the white queso. You get generous portions and worth a visit.

Their Mexican plates are great. First time to try the guido and I was disappointed. Mostly vegetables and the meat appears to be fajita meat not beef cubes. I thought it would be beef stew meat in brown gravy like traditional guiso. I think they should rename this plate to something else. Not guiso.
Not really my favorite place. Wanted to try some place new today so we went to Mia’s Tex-Mex for taco Tuesday. First you are forced to valet park which I personally do not like, but that’s me. The service was bad but that great either. They bring out chips & salsa… that I loved! The chips were fresh and warm (YUM) the salsa had a fantastic flavor but was very watery (boo). We Ordered the Tacos Callejeros, I got the beef and my wife got the chicken. The corn tortillas were very soft and tasty the beef had a pretty good (not great) flavor however it was very greasy. My wife enjoyed her chicken. The meal wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either… it was just ok. Probably won’t go back just not a great experience, at least not for me. I’ll give 3 agaves out of 5. Follow me on Twitter for more reviews @tequilaNtaco
The food was satisfactory, the service was nice. It’s nice that the valet is free (but you should still tip, don’t be a jerk). The drinks were wayyyyy overpriced in my opinion. And there was an overhead light blinking throughout my meal, which was an issue for me (I have a seizure disorder). So overall, I didn’t DISlike it, but neither would I recommend it.
So I was in the area last night and thought I’d try this place as I know it’s a longtime Dallas Tex Mex institution and I hadn’t been there in years. I was kinda excited about visiting. I sat at the bar with a friend and overall it wasn’t horrible but it was extremely underwhelming. The margaritas are somewhat expensive for the size and very generic in nature. The service while not rude was very detached like you had to work to get them to actually pay attention to you or answer any questions. Our food order a best be described as average at best and we ordered from their classics menu. Oh and you have to valet park as well which is kinda annoying. An example of the service and overall vibe is that we asked if we might get a small taste of their mango flavored margaritas, we were already drinking two margaritas and just curious how the mango flavor was and the bartender said they don’t offer samples of anything. While watching them it seems that this place is very focused on cost control and to me they seem to be benefiting from the longtime brand awareness by trying to maximize profits over service or experience. I’m a Tex Mex lover and there are many great spots in DFW and this was a disappointment. I won’t make the mistake of going there again.
They're brisket tacos used to be legendary. Even with the gravy, it was dryer than usual. There was salsa on the side of the table cloth (the party that hangs down the side side & it got all over one of the people in my party. No apologies and especially no offer to get her garments dry cleaned for the stain it caused but instead annoyance that the waitress had to wipe it down. We even had to request drink refills. Might as well have the soda & tea station out so patrons can get it themselves with the care currently provided by this establishment. I hate the forced valet, I mean this place is not that swanky, but there are so few parking spaces & with the way some people park... It's a must. Last time the waitress was even worse. We had to ask for everything, even salsa refills. Every encounter was such a bother. Everything else was ok
Not a fan of the queso. Had a jello like consistency. I liked my enchilada plate. Overall easy to get in but I think there's better Tex Mex out there.
Very disappointed. Prices are higher than other similar Mexican restaurants, so I was expecting better quality...not the case. I ordered guiso de puerco, and it was totally bland. The top shelf margarita was decent, but for $15, I was expecting it to be much better. With so many other Mexican restaurants in DFW, there is no need to come back to this one.
This was my first time eating here! Bartender/waiter was not very helpful in guiding us thru 1st dining experience. Tacos were extremely greasy. Plates were scorching HOT food was room temp-Cold. Not at all what I expected. Regular portion sizes. Nothing spectacular from seating, guacamole, margaritas or Dessert! A lil disappointed ☹️
Small .. couldn't even take a bottle water in ..lady was rude about it.. it was hot outside... no kids menu or option..had to order 15$ plate a 4 yr old .. didn't even eat half 😕
Extremely disappointing starting with 55 minute wait to be seated after being told 20 to 30. The chips and salsa were very bland and no flavor. The chicken soup was Luke warm and no seasoning or flavor. The fajitas were ok but nothing special. I know there are much better Tex Mex restaurants nearby I would not waste my time or money here
Parking is horrible, had to take a star off because there’s nowhere to park. Service was the worst, the waiter came by once. Guacamole was really good and a good size. Sour cream enchiladas were good as well, very flavorful. The tamale dinner was disgusting. Never order this plate. Over experience was rough. Do think I’ll come back.
Mia's has become a complete let down. Went here for dinner on a Friday evening at 6:30pm. Valet and parking was a complete cluster as usual. Grabbed a spot at the bar while waiting for a table only…

I asked valet if we could park in the handicap spot and they told me that is was being used. It was as being used by a truck without any handicap credentials and when we left the truck was still there. Yes I have a handicap credentials.
I went here for lunch. 1st off they only have a small parking lot and you can't park there unless you valet(Money Grab). 2nd as a food connoisseur who loves tex mex , this place is horrible. I had the lunch special which cost $10.95 for a taco, chicken enchilada, and cheese enchilada. No rice or beans. I ate the taco and a little of the cheese enchilada. No flavor. Salsa was not spicy at all. I also had a margarita on the rocks which cost $12. Absolutely ridiculous as it had a bunch of sweet and sour juice and very little tequila. I definitely will not return. There are way too many VERY GOOD TEX MEX RESTAURANTS IN DALLAS . TRUST MIA's is not one of them.
The waitstaff was extremely rude to my elderly father over his medical condition. The harassment continued even after multiple explanations. This is NOT how you treat people — let alone paying customers — so we took our business down the street to Uncle Julio’s and enjoyed a lovely meal. We won’t be back to this awful establishment.
Don’t go here if you are African American. They will treat you like crap from valet to service. It’s not worth ruining your day. Go eat somewhere else.
Horrible Horrible customer service. They lost one of credit card & blamed it on us that we only gave them one card and they wanted to check the cameras. The waiter was incompetent and dropped the card in the basket full of menus, which I found myself by looking in their baskets and not trusting them to find it The manager refused to compensate us for anything and just said that it was just a little mistake and said that it was. It a big deal when they could have easily lost our card for good. Shame on them!!
