Traditional place to have breakfast. The place is run by kind ladies. I ordered the huevos rancheros and they were good. I would definitely need to come back to try their lunch.
Old school Mexican Restaurant Vibe. Drove by and saw lady that looked like my abuelita as the servers and I knew the place was gonna be good. And it definitely did not disappoint its like nostalgia of old school mexican breakfast with the whole family. Definitely recommend tacos and menudo was good.
Great place to have breakfast. One of the gems of Bishop Art district. I love this family run Mexican place. Everyone is very nice.
So happy we stopped in El Jordan for breakfast/brunch. Ordered bacon omelette, breakfast burrito, and menudo for 2 people - all under $30 total. Big portions (note: the breakfast burrito is more of a snack and priced as such). Great homey atmosphere and friendly service. Feels very home cooked. Ask for spicy red sauce if you can handle some heat. Definitely recommend!
It has the feeling of a small town cafe on the square and the food to match. I ordered two eggs over medium which they came out. Exactly that way, two sausage patties, and two pancakes and all was tasty. The eggs already had salt on them so if you don’t like a lot of salt, you might ask them to hold the salt (I don’t salt my eggs - just pepper) My server was probably in my top five ever of being the most friendly. The prices were incredibly reasonable, and I can highly recommend this place for a good basic breakfast. If I come back, I will definitely try a breakfast burrito.
Authentic Mexican breakfast. Breakfast burritos are a decent size. Breakfast special for my daughter included pancakes very affordable. Chips and salsa provided. Salsa was fresh and not too spicy. We had the Horchata which was amazing. I would return just to order the drink again. Definitely recommend this location for breakfast.
Great spot for quick, tasty, and very affordable Mexican food. Small cafe setup, service was friendly, and food came out quick. The chips and salsa came out first and the chips were still warm. We had the huevos rancheros, migas a la mexicana and horchata. The horchata is delicious and served in a giant cup. Would definitely come back for a weekend breakfast.
Fast, friendly and tasty! It's my favorite breakfast spot! The staff is extremely nice and attentive. The tortillas are always served hot and the food is very consistent!
I arrived at 6:40 AM. Our trusted Google maps info matched the hours on the door Open: 6:30, yet the door was locked. A gentleman looked up from the Kitchen as if to say oops, time got away from me. He quickly made his way to the door and opened with a friendly Ola. He quickly went to the back to pour me a cup of coffee while the other person I'll call "Kitchen Lady" and I looked over the menu. She says if I order the breakfast burritos I'll need 3 or 4 due to their size. Omlette sounded good so I asked if they could make a Spanish Omlette even though it wasn't in the menu. See Senior, anything you want. Spanish Omlette it is -- OR SO I thought. When the to go box arrived kitchen Lady opened the box with a flare and a "see", I was introduced to the prettiest and what I would soon find out -- the best Spinatch Omlette I have ever tasted. Yes, you read right, I said Spinatch, not Spanish --oops. The language barrier however worked to my advantage this time. I'm glad I decided to pass by the Cafe Brazil on my way to the new, best experience with a Spinatch Omlette I've ever had compliments of the Bishop Arts District. Meal complete with potatoes , Refried beans, corn or flour tortillas, and homemade Salsa. Wheel Chair accessible but not automatic. Handicapped parking is hard to find. El Jordan was. Real find for this lover of Mexican food. I hope to return for lunch or dinner one day. Great job. Friendly attitude and cooking skills more than made up for the mild language barrier.
I’ve been coming here for the past 8 years. It has become a staple for me. I come at least once a month. Menudo is really good. Everything is made fresh. If you want a home cook meal, this is the place.
If you’re craving truly authentic, soul-satisfying Mexican food, look no further than this gem. From the moment we walked in, the family spirit showed in every detail; warm greetings, cozy vibes, and that sense of real pride in every dish. The service was excellent: attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and genuinely caring. The coffee is actually outstanding; bold, smooth, just right. And the food… amazing. Every bite tasted pure, honest, and full of heart. This is one of those hidden treasures that reminds you what real food is all about. Highly, highly recommended. I’ll absolutely be back.
Every single time I come here, the customer service is impeccable, the food is freshly made and delicious, and the staff really make you feel Like family.
Been coming here forever. Parking sucks, best if you go at an off-time. Food is good, wonderful service, good prices. Real homey Mexican eats.
The food was great and I love that they give free chips and salsa with the meals . However, what stood out to me was the amazing and attentive service. I never had to ask for a refill of my drink or more chips and salsa . They really pay attention to their customers and I commend them for that .
Great food at Veracruz Cafe. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned, and the portions were solid. Service was quick and friendly, and the place has a relaxed, local feel. Straightforward, good tex-mex food — I’d definitely go back.
This should be a Micheline Star restaurant. From the appetizer sampler to our two different entres we were completely speechless. The service was fast, kind, and helpful. There were multiple rooms for different dining vibes. I will definitely be back over and over again to eat this food and try the menu. 1 million stars. Eat here!!!!!
The food is amazing! Go a weekday for lunch and skip the wait. You won't regret it. Make sure to try the beef it's absolutely melt in your mouth delicious. Be sure to specify your heat level tho because this is not Taco Bell... They really add the spice 🥵 in all the right ways.
The food is phenomenal and our waiter Jesus was even more fantastic!! He made our dining pleasure amazing! He was very attentive to our request throughout our meal and provided excellent meal selections!! Pedro, give this young man a raise immediately!!! There was little wait time for our amazing meal!! Food seasoned to perfection!! Restaurant decor was really nice!!! Atmosphere inside and outside was inviting! 🌟 If you are there on SUNDAYS, ask for Jesus!! He's a GODSEND! Smile!
This food was absolutely bussinggg. We got the Mexican eggrolls and the sour cream enchiladas and everything was sooo delicious omg. The egg rolls were stuffed and so were the enchiladas. Flavors on point. Everything seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of heat. Everything came out pretty quickly and our server was super nice and came at all the right times. 10/10 would recommend. I will absolutely be back!!
Very good and decent place to go eat. Food is good and well prepared. Service is also good pur server was very nice and helpful and attentive. The only negative is park as it can be hard sometimes to find parking. Other then that , its a good enough to give it a try.
This place is awesome! This is my second place visiting and it hasn't disappointed. Very few mexican places offer authentic, almost non heard dishes to the American public like the delicious pipian. I, myself tried the cecina and, is delicious. Great margarita swirl. Over all it was a great experience.
I have been to Veracruz Cafe more than 5 times in recent months. Food has been consistently good. They provide unlimited chips and Salsa. Roberto’s Desert Soup is one of my favorite dish over there. This soup is full with veggies and cactus. Today I tried blue corn Enchilada Trio. A good way to taste three different sauces (all awesome). I also tried Sopapillas. Overall all good food.
We had lunch today and it was beyond delicious. I had the house Top shelf margarita & Michael had the Mezcal margarita both fantastic with bottle cap appetizer(sliced jalapeño with bread crumbs fried and dipping sauce, Wow! I had the smoked brisket tacos and Michael had the Macambo combo dinner and it was like being back in Puerto Vallarta where we lived for 2 years. The chips & salsa were also great. This is a Definite come back and Highly Recommend! Salud !
Food, amazing. Salsa, amazing. Mojito, amazing. Came back a week later with a friend. The food was still amazing but the best part is how every waiter walked by and filled up our bowls with salsa every dang time. Their salsa is amazing. I mean the food is exceptional too but the salsa ♥️♥️♥️
I have been visiting Veracruz Café for more than 7 years now and have had countless meals here. I’ve always had a great experience. The staff is very welcoming and greet us with familiarity and comfort. The food is well-presented and delicious. I’ve visited when it’s very busy and full, yet get amazing service every time. I take friends and family here when they are visiting from other cities because they never disappoint. I would recommend getting their margaritas, steak, and shrimp cocktail.
UPDATE: Came back with family today after not having visited in a while and I'm happy to report that the food is still FANTASTIC! I had the Pescado Xanath, a tasty stuffed fish with crab and shrimp. Everyone at our table ordered some of the more specialty dishes and loved all their food. Plates were literally licked clean. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't offer anything other than sodas and tea for beverages since we were not drinking any alcohol but the food more than made up for that. Very reasonably priced for 5 people to eat as well (without cocktails or drinks of course). This is officially receiving a gold star from me 🌟 Will be one of my permanent foodie staples in Dallas! 4 years ago: Came here on a whim with my mom and sister for lunch on a girl's day during the holiday. I ordered the fish tacos and a limonada (which was made with real lime!) and enjoyed it thoroughly. The menu is a bit different from traditional Mexican; they add a different twist to the food on several dishes but all seemed tasty and worthy of giving a try. I didn't have the cocktails but my sister is somewhat of a regular there and she said they are delectable and have a great happy hour. Make it a point to stop by and try this place. There's so many choices in bishop arts but this one stands out for sure.
Great place for breakfast! I felt like I was back home eating delicious food with the family. Definitely coming back soon ☕️
My daughter and I visted this place for breakfast. We both had pancakes, they were fantastic, and split the vegetarian omelet plate. It was a lot of food and the prices are very reasonable. Really good.
Amazing Mexican breakfast and impressive staff service. We had breakfast there today and it was really nice and refreshing. Would definitely try them out again for brunch.
Food was good. I just have high expectations on mexican food.
Not a super fan of this place, it was just okay at best. Their flour tortillas were rubbery and I'm not 100% sure on this but I assumed they were NOT homemade or made in house. The chips and salsa where the highlight of our meal as those were very tasty. I tried to order a migas taco but the waitress didn't seem to even know what that was and said that they couldn't make that even though they obviously have All of the ingredients necessary and are a Mexican restaurant that serves Breakfast tacos / Burritos. As I previously mentioned They have chips for the salsa and being a "restaurant" you can't tell me they don't have eggs, onions, tomatoes and cheese which all mixed together makes "migas" anyways moving on from my anger and not being able to get a migas taco the food that we did get was just average and kind of bland for what it was. Don't get me wrong I've had worse and all in all it wasn't a bad experience it was just not memorable or satisfying really. the question is would I recommend this place? And the answer to that would be, I most certainly would not ask you to go out of your way to dine at El Jordan Cafe but I would say if you are in close proximity and craving some Mexican food and just don't want to go any further then yeah sure why not. Why three stars and not four: An Unrememberable an unremarkable experience losses you one star and having a Mexican restaurant that doesn't know what a migas Taco is loses you another. *Poor *Decent *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Good Service. Good Cleanliness. Good Consistency. N/A Value. Good
We were excited to try this place but were really disappointed. The chips and salsa were good but you have to pay extra for more chips. I got the sausage omelette and it was so disappointing. No seasoning just eggs with cut up little sausage in it. The potatoes had no seasoning and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. They also barely came around to us. We had to flag them down to order and refill waters.
I went by the Google positive reviews which usually is a safe bet but not this time. Food was very underwhelming. Service could have been better. Ordered the huevos rancheros with potatoes. The papas needed some seasoning. Beans were ok. Prices are decent. Wouldn't go back.
