I had the blackened grouper served over Marsh Hen grits with a shitake-tomato butter and wood fired carrots. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Grouper was tender and flaky. The carrots were smoky with just the right amount of jalapeño heat. Both paired well with the Jax Chardonnay. The meal was topped off with a Kingstide crunch bar and a espresso martini. We ate on the porch. The view was terrific. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time.

Came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Amazing, down to earth service and the food was incredible from appetizer to main course. Tried the mussels, the cauliflower, and the grouper entree. All top notch.

Had truly the best experience visiting Charleston and coming here! The food was AMAZING, but the service was arguably just as good. Zoey was so kind and made my entire experience. Absolutely recommend!

My girlfriend and I had an incredible dining experience here. From the moment we sat down, we were taken care of by Josh, who knew the menu inside and out. He gave us some of the best recommendations we could have asked for. I even told him to surprise me with an entree based on the flavors I like, and he absolutely nailed it. The Blackened Grouper he picked for me was nothing short of perfect. Despite having a busy section, Josh never made us feel like an afterthought. He constantly checked in, made sure we had everything we needed, and his friendly, welcoming personality really made us feel at home. Every staff member who brought out our food or drinks had the same genuine kindness, which made the entire evening feel special. The food was outstanding. The crab cakes, oysters on the half shell, and carrot cake were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. On top of that, the drinks were top-notch and complemented the meal perfectly. After dinner, we made our way up to the rooftop where the atmosphere was just as amazing. The bartenders up there were just as friendly and welcoming, and the view made for a perfect way to end the night. This place gets a full 10 out of 10 from us. If you’re looking for a spot that combines phenomenal food, genuine hospitality, and a beautiful atmosphere, you will not be disappointed.

Took my girlfriend to Kingstide for a date night and we were lucky enough to be seated at the chefs counter. The kitchen staff make it a point to welcome us in and interact with us as we were fortunate to be able to watch them work. Our server Josh was fantastic and made us feel like we were family. The entire staff was so accommodating and super friendly. The bar staff were very knowledgeable and kind with drink recommendations and substitutions. All of that and I haven’t even gotten to talk about the meal yet! The food was amazing. It was very difficult to decide what to order and what not to order as everything looked and sounded delicious. As we suspected everything that we did order was fantastic. We will HAVE to go back and try the things we did not order for the next time we visit. 10/10 recommend. Thank you Kingstide!

Every trip has one standout meal, the one you remember long after you're home. For our visit to Charleston, that meal was at The Kingstide. The restaurant's waterfront vibe is the real deal; we even saw a dolphin swim by while we were sitting down. The staff made us feel welcome right away, and we started with the seafood tower. It was an impressive spread of fresh, chilled shellfish and the perfect way to begin. But while the tower was good, the grouper was the highlight of the night. It was served over incredibly creamy grits, and the fish itself was cooked perfectly. It is a simple dish, but it's executed so well that it truly stands out. We came looking for a memorable seafood dinner, and The Kingstide delivered. We highly recommend it if you're visiting the area.

We had the best dinner and sunset ocean view for our anniversary. Hudson was one of the best servers we’ve had in a long time! 10/10 experience.

B

We specifically chose this restaurant for the octopus and it was amazing. We also enjoyed the tuna crudo, raw oysters, and seasonal fish (mutton snapper). Hudson was a fabulous server. It is a bit loud inside, but the rainy weather didn’t allow us to sit outside where I think it would be a bit easier to hear who you’re dining with.

This premium waterfront restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience that beautifully blends exceptional cuisine with stunning views. We arrived by boat after a leisurely sunset cruise, and the ambiance alone made the evening feel special from the start. The warm glow of twilight reflecting off the water set the perfect backdrop for a memorable night. From the moment we were greeted, the service was impeccable. The hostess went out of her way to make our birthday celebration feel truly special, accommodating our party with genuine hospitality and thoughtful touches that did not go unnoticed. The food was nothing short of outstanding. We began with the Oysters Rockefeller, which were prepared to perfection—rich, savory, and beautifully presented. Every bite was indulgent, a perfect example of how a classic dish can still surprise and delight. The rest of the meal followed suit, with fresh, flavorful ingredients and artful presentation that showcased the kitchen’s attention to detail. This restaurant is a gem, whether you're arriving by land or water. It’s a rare place where the setting, service, and cuisine all exceed expectations. We look forward to returning—and next time, we’ll be sure to stay a little longer and savor every moment.

Had the best dining experience ever tonight at Kingstide. Our server, Zoe M, was more than accommodating and made the experience a 10 out of 10. I really appreciated her making this dinner special for my boyfriend and I. The food was phenomenal, and I can’t wait to come back and try more. We loved the low tide tower and the brussels sprouts. Southern hospitality is real 😍

Went for lunch on a stunning day. Didn’t have a reservation (they don’t take them for the lunch service anyway!) and were seated right away. The rooftop area is beautiful, airy, and bathed in light. Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful vibe, and friendly staff. The food was perfect, and we had an overall wonderful experience! Would love to come back again to try the dinner menu!

Our server was wonderful and asked right up front if there was anyone with food sensitivities or allergies. I am allergic to wheat and she pointed out all the dishes that were gluten-free and the ones that could be modified for me. I had the crab salad and it was delicious. The Lemon Blueberry Crème Brûlée was scrumptious! It was a beautiful evening for outdoor seating. I will definitely visit again!

My wife and I love this spot. Each time we come into town to visit, we stop by and grab drinks and dinner. Every visit has been a fantastic experience. The drinks are expertly prepared and very refreshing. The food presentation is great. As our waiter said, “Your eyes have to eat first”. The quality and value of the food is excellent. And, most importantly, the service is friendly and attentive. We’re looking toward to our next visit to the Charleston area and our next visit to The Kingstide.

Amazing food. I had the tuna tartar, oysters, and Cesar with pickled shrimp. They also gave me appetizers for free. The view is amazing if you sit outside on the deck above. Great place for good drinks too.

Excellent Thanksgiving lunch today at The Kingstide. SHE crab soup, tuna tartare appetizers were both very good — fresh and flavorful. The main course we opted for (grilled market fish, which today was swordfish) was excellent, though slightly small. But the absolute highlight was the bourbon pecan pie — really out of this world! We would have had the whole tray. Great vibes and service too, and really nice views.

I had such a wonderful experience dining at the Kingstide, I was in the area for work and decided to stop by for my last night in town. I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere, decor, staff, and food were amazing! I had the low tide, crab fried rice, and the kings tide crunch bar. Everything was excellent and my waitress and the hostess were so very lovely! Thank you so much, I’ll definitely be back when I visit again!

My husband and I enjoyed his birthday dinner here and had a fantastic meal. Our server was lovely and so attentive, and the tastes of each dish were thoughtfully created. Everything was delicious! The calamari was light and crunchy, the yogurt lime drizzle on the sweet potatoes was a unique twist, and both the campfire trout and swordfish "fish of the day" preparation were great choices! Parking was a bit far, as all the close spaces were taken and we had to park in a gravel lot across the way, and it was very cold. Still a great meal and we look forward to returning!

Truly fantastic dinner! Our waitress Monica went above and beyond after learning about our little celebration we were having. The she crab soup and Brussel sprouts were delicious! We also got the lamb bolognese and fried seafood platter! Definitely worth a try

I will be returning to Kingstide the next time I'm near Daniel Island. The food was AMAZING everything we got was delicious. We started with espresso martinis and calamari both were great. For entrees I got the seared tuna (best tuna i've ever had) and my friend got the steak. There was a mix up with our order which caused us to have to wait a while and our waitress Kayln i believe and another staff member were apologetic and accommodating they gave us a free appetizer and dessert. The service was phenomenal from everyone we encountered. 10/10 recommend dining here.

Fantastic! Everything was perfect. Our server was a delight, and even let us try a few pink oysters on the house when we couldn’t decide on appetizers. Cocktails were absolutely divine. We ended up getting more oysters, ceviche, and the catch of the day. Eating seafood next to the water has healed my soul. Thank you so much!!!

Kingstide in Daniel Island is an amazing place to get drinks, appetizers, and food, all while enjoying a fantastic view of the Wando River. It's one of my favorite stops when showing clients property in the area. The oysters are fantastic—fresh and flavorful—and the espresso martini is absolutely delicious. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxing evening or a casual get-together. Highly recommend visiting Kings Tide for a memorable dining experience! Before you go to Kingstide, make sure you check the hours of operation. They open in the afternoon on most days, to plan your trip accordingly! And let me know when you’re going, and I’d love to grab a drink and meet you there! Cheers!

Amazing view and service. Open kitchen and you can see the chef manage the sous-chef and team with high standards. I saw two platings turned down by the chef while eating at the bar (seems a few new team members last night). And the bar seating was extremely comfortable and the waiter was very attentive (unlike most bar seating areas). I’ll be back! 12/5/2021 Update: came again and want to add another 5 Stars! Amazing food. Freshest oysters on the coast and the Fireside Trout will be my permanent dinner here. Thank you Kingstide!

We went to dinner on a Thursday and requested an outdoor table. We set up our reservations 30 days out. We were seated right away and Jacquelyn greeted us immediately. Not only are the outdoor seats in a beautiful setting, they are a lot quieter than indoors. Different kind of menu, no chicken or pork and one steak on the menu. Octopus and mussels for appetizers that were outstanding. Our main courses consisted of items like trout, lobster cobb salad, lobster roll, and swordfish. They use a wood grill that enhances flavors. Everything was very good and at the end of the meal, all plates were clean. We will go back. Besides great food, our waitress made our meal fun and with laughter, get Jacquelyn if you can.

The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The service was impeccable! I got suggestions for everything including my drink. And look how absolutely beautiful it is, with a smoky flavor. The crab and oysters were super fresh and spot on! It was a perfect date night spot for our anniversary dinner. Other than special occasions I may not go due to the high prices. But the prices are well worth it for those special nights!!!!

Beautiful restaurant right on the water. The service was fantastic and the views were STUNNING. The upstairs bar is perfect for a more casual setting (and they allow dogs!) while the downstairs is a more formal setting (takes reservations) for a nicer sit down dinner.

Our food was awesome and the view was beautiful! This restaurant is fresh and very pretty. Our waiter was a little green and we had to ask him for things a few times. Loved the food and enjoyed the outside seating.

Love this place! I prefer the downstairs restaurant menu over the upstairs bar area menu as it’s more extensive but it’s always a good time and they have some great cocktails! Can’t beat the view either! Lesley, is the best bartender!! Her drinks are the best !

Great food and a beautiful view! Climbing the stairs to the outside space was well worth the view. The hush puppies were a great start and each item that followed was delicious!

I want to thank John for an outstanding culinary experience tonight at the restaurant. The food was absolutely exceptional, and the kindness shown to us during our visit was amazing.! As an example, it has been decades since I visited a seafood restaurant with they actually crack up the Alaskan King crab legs so they are so easy to eat! Kudos to everyone at the restaurant and the views are absolutely stunning! I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful restaurant and ask for John as your server!

My wife and I went during Restaurant Week and was impressed across the board. The food was high quality and well-executed: tuna appetizer, swordfish entrée, and their crunch bar dessert all delivered on flavor and presentation. The setting is a big part of the experience. The patio offers fantastic water views and is one of the better people-watching spots in Charleston—boats docking, families strolling the trail system, plenty of movement without feeling crowded. Overall, Kingstide balances upscale dining with a laid-back waterfront vibe. Strong choice for anyone looking for good seafood paired with one of the best patio scenes in the area.

We had the blackened Grouper, sore fish and pork chop; all delicious. Wood grilled kale salad was pleasantly nicely done. The She Crap soup was too creamy for me. Manager came/brought Brussel sprouts on the house and was done very well. Had great time.

My fiancé and I had a dinner reservation here on the day we got engaged. Not only were the food and drinks AMAZING, but the staff were so sweet and made us feel special on an exciting day! Will definitely come back here next time we are in the area.

We ate here twice in 3 days. Dillon was great - had him both times. Lobster bisque was outstanding first night, batch slightly less so second time. Grouper was lovely both times. Cesar salad was excellent. Calamari was very meaty - one said best he’d ever had! Brussels sprouts and carrots are fantastic - don’t skip!!! The view of the water is beautiful and they have a playground outside too.

We absolutely had the most amazing experience for my son’s 18th birthday dinner! They went ABOVE and BEYOND! They reached out a week before our reservation and asked about my son’s favorite teams, hobbies, desserts in order to make our dinner special! Our centerpiece was a “bouquet” of special things he loved! Wow! The food was amazing, the waitstaff was amazing, every.single.thing was AMAZING!! The GM and the management team went out of their way to meet us, engage us and make the night special. We are so appreciative!

My favorite restaurant delivered the most incredible Thanksgiving experience for my family. From the moment we walked in, the service was flawless and the atmosphere was welcoming. The food was absolutely outstanding, every dish was delicious, beautifully prepared, and truly made our holiday feel special. A very heartfelt thank you to Dargan and Jackie, who went above and beyond to take exceptional care of us. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made the entire day unforgettable. My kids enjoyed every moment, which says everything! This place is a gem. We left feeling grateful, full, and so impressed. Of course we will absolutely be back! The Kingside continues to be one of my favorite places.

We had another fantastic dining experience at The Kingstide. This time we sat downstairs, which offered a great atmosphere. Our waiter was truly exceptional. The service was one of the highlights of the evening. As always, the food was excellent. We ordered one of the seafood towers, which featured a really fresh and delicious crab. The short ribs from the specials menu were truly amazing, tender and perfectly seasoned. We also loved the seasonal vegetables, which are always a reliably delicious side dish here. My only minor note was that the she crab soup had a little too much sherry for my taste, but it was still well-made. For dessert, the crunch bar was an absolute pleasure—a perfect end to the meal. We enjoyed everything and will definitely be back again.

This is a nice place with a beautiful view, great food and good service. It's a little loud when the dining room is full and our server was a tad overbearing, but overall I would recommend Kingtide for the quality of food and cocktails. I also am looking forward to experiencing their outside terrace. It was beautifully set up and I can see it being a perfect spot for a drink and some snacks with friends, family, or for a special occasion

The atmosphere is what makes this place. They have an up stairs that overlooks the water and the bar window opens up, so it's beautiful at night. If I lived in the neighborhood, I could see this being a great one of my regular spots. Down stairs is an upscale seafood spot. Both places have different menus. Seems they have something for everyone. The food was good too. The hush puppies were amazing.

Pricey. The food was too salty for me, but my husband loved it. The seafood tower was great! You have a view of the entire kitchen. Watching SOME cook and prep was a little disturbing. Need some hand washing refresher courses. Service was great! It's a casual place. No need to dress up.

Beautiful area and building. Great view, great food. Our server was really nice. The timing was a little slow, but it was a full Saturday night so it was expected to a point. We were there about 2 hours as a result. Would definitely return but prob not on such a busy night. Crab cakes were delicious, and if you get a chance to try the blueberry creme brulee DO IT!

T

Nice, clean place. Good views down by the water. Service was friendly and helpful! I had swordfish! Would go again but sit inside if it's hot out.

C

Delicious! Tried the watermelon cocktail with tequila—perfectly lite with just enough tequila and fruit flavor. The appetizers were all delicious, but the calamari was a little too breaded for our liking. The entrees however were all delicious. From the pork chop to the swordfish, and the mussels. All Devine. I recommend coming for sundown and sitting up on the rooftop. Great experience overall. And good service to match!

We went for lunch so only the upstairs area was open. The space was nice and comfortable, but the menu was a bit limited. Hopefully next time we’ll come in the evening when there are more options available.

Location is what makes this place so nice. Beautiful views from the upper deck. We had a couple appetizers and a few drinks. It’s overpriced yes, but it’s the whole experience. Parking can be tough so you may have to walk some. There is a ramp and elevator also if needed. On to the food, The buffalo shrimp are very mild and pretty good. The calamari was really good though. Still 5 drinks and two appetizers and tip will run $100

We had lunch here after visiting Daniel island and walking some of the trails by the water. Plenty of parking around. We sat inside on one of the high tables since we didn’t want to wait 10 mins to get outdoor seating. For food we had the Smoked Salmon Rillettes, Oysters Rockefeller and Caesars Salad. We also had two non alcoholic drinks. The salad had too much dressing, so we didnot finish it. But the other food and drinks were pretty good. I would say decent food at a not-so-cheap price.

A

I stopped by with my wife, daughter ,son in law and grand daughter, calamari was excellent, hushpuppies I didn't like, fried chicken was excellent, my son in law loved the tuna tostada, but the fish bologna sliders were not what he expected, 6oz burger should be 1 -6oz patty not 2 -3oz patties, burger was maybe a 6 out of 10, wouldn't get it again. The view saved the 4 stars

N

We decided to go to the rooftop, where the view was much nicer. They do not take open table reservations for their rooftop. Our hostess sat us at a table for 4, where it was 5 of us, but our waitress quickly recommended a larger table for six, and moved us there right away. We wished there was an umbrella, because the sun was too much for most of us, but it was nice, nonetheless. They have a different menu than the dining area downstairs, and we really wanted to try their crab cake dinner, which they were nice enough to accommodate us with, and we are very grateful for that. Somehow our order was mishandled, and we received the appetizer instead, but they swiftly fixed that. We had their lobster roll, which was quite disappointing, given that we've had really good lobster rolls at hole-in-the-wall places, and this one was probably the worst lobster roll we've had in years. Their crab soup was really good! Nothing else on the menu was to brag about. Their oysters were within the norm. We had a second order, which wasn't put in correctly, but at that point, we were running late for something, and had to go, so we left that alone. Our waitress was pleasant, and gave us good recommendations. There was live music in the park, right outside the restaurant, which was great. Had we known that ahead of time, we would have made different plans for the evening. I wouldn't say we'd go back again, given we spent over $300 for mediocre food (with 3 young kids, that didn't eat much, besides the fries).

I was here by myself on a business trip and made reservations. The hostess shoved me toward the kitchen bar. It was extremely hot 🥵 warning ⛔️ The bartender was my server and he was absolutely amazing. No complaints super attentive even though he was making drinks for tables and had guests at the bar, the restaurant was I would say pretty busy and I think the hosts wanted a table for someone who is more than one which really wasn’t her decision to make as a matter of fact, the two or three hostesses stood there on their phones and chatted the entire time ignoring guests not impressive. Also the bar faced away from the water which I wasn’t happy about. The food was good, but some of it like the hush puppies were pretty disappointing. Food also took a long time. I’m not sure I would go again. You all need to value all guests. Single or parties.
