Amazing food! We tried multiple dishes including the radiatori vodka sauce, carbonara, chicken Parmesan, house made mozzarella caprese style and the prosciutto de Parma that is sliced in house. All of it was absolutely amazing. The service was wonderful as well. Lisa was our server and gave great recommendations. I highly, highly recommend this place if you love Italian!
Love this restaurant Pelato Charleston that was opened by Anthony Scotto Jr. in 2025. I had the Baked Clams Oreganata, the Radiatori Vodka Pasta and the Dark Chocolate Budino. All were delicious but the chocolate budino was heavenly! My waitress Alden was so personable and was very attentive. I will be going back to try some other recommended dishes. Plus they have free parking behind the restaurant. A must for anyone living in or visiting Charleston!!
Amazing as always! Sloan was very informative for the rest of my party that hadn’t tried the menu, and very friendly! She was a great time! The cacio de pepe is my all time favorite but the burrata crostini is refreshing & filling!
I had such an amazing experience last night! Our waitress, Sarah Rothschild, was fantastic. She was incredibly informative, genuinely funny, and so kind the entire time. She walked us through the menu, gave great recommendations, answered every question, and made the whole evening feel relaxed and fun. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything came out perfect, and Sarah’s service truly elevated the experience. Also had the best dirty martinis ever! I’ll definitely be coming back, and I hope I get her again!
We had an amazing experience at Pelato. From the food to the service to the attentiveness. Everything was perfect. The homemade gluten free vodka pasta was the best pasta we have ever had. Aziya was our server. Super kinda and attentive. We will be back for sure!
We went here for a birthday dinner and the food was amazing!! We had reservations but got sat a little while after which was my only area of complaint. Clayton was our server and he was so sweet, attentive, had delicious recommendations, was super informative on the menu, and even offered to take a picture for us 😊
Brenda and I had an awesome romantic dinner at Pelato last night. In a newly built out space formerly Butcher & Bee across from XO Brasserie Audrey hostess and Will the manager guided us to an incredibly beautiful table where we were served by another Will. We enjoyed over the top five star service and gourmet food including chicken parmesan grilled broccolini and stuffed mushrooms handmade crafted martinis by Mauricio bartender. We so enjoyed our Frozen Espresso Martini for a great finish. We highly recommend Pelato for great Italian food in an informal neighborhood setting.
All I can say is WOW! I won’t lie that I was a little worried this was an overhyped spot as I’ve seen it all over social media, but this has now become my favorite Italian spot in Charleston! Service was great, food was evidently fresh and homemade, and every dish had its own wow factor. Our personal favorites were the vodka pasta & chicken parm, but I would recommend everything we got. I am already planning our next visit to Pelato, because it was simply perfect!
Had a fantastic time at Pelato last night. The food was so flavorful and just the right amount for sharing for two. Everything came out piping hot, at just the right time when we were ready for the next course. The frozen Cosmo was the perfect drink to start. Service was warm, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Also a huge plus, lots of free parking in the dedicated lot! This is my new favorite place!
We had a fun time! Orderi g drinks at the walk-up window was charming. Our waitress, Christine, provided wonderful recommendations & her suggestions were spot on. The noise was a little loud from the acoustics on the porch, but otherwise a fantastic time.
We heard so much about pelato and it definitely lived up to our expectations. The food all came out fresh to order and we appreciated the time we had in between each meal. All of the food was delicious and we split six plates for three people. The stand outs were the pelato salad, the meatballs (my personal favorite), and the vodka pasta. As someone who isn’t the biggest pasta lover, the vodka pasta was extremely tasty and rich. It’s a perfect dish to complement the other lighter items and for sharing. I also loveddd the shape of the pasta! Our waitress was DaJané who was very kind and helpful. Super nice ambiance as well and the restaurant itself was beautiful and spacious.
Excellent dining experience! Pelato has a great menu, everything on it tastes great I’m sure. We had 6 of their dishes and each was unique and delicious. Our server Mia, did a great job answering questions and providing good recommendations. Highly recommend a visit to Pelato!
A wonderful Italian small plates dining experience. Everything from the garlic bread to the heart shaped Almond cookies were so perfectly crafted.
Ryan was amazing! Everything was absolutely lovely- the food was beyond what I expected. I took my mom here for my birthday celebration and it was fabulous. We went to Sorelle last year and I feel like this completely surpassed the experience there. Payton the host was also so sweet and helpful! There wasn’t one dish I wouldn’t order again. My favorites were definitely the raditorre, the burnt broccolini and the stuffer eggplant bread. We will definitely be back!!
My husband and I picked this place randomly on our first night in town celebrating our baby moon and I can not say enough good things about it. Ofc we didn’t have reservations and the girls at the host area were so sweet and squeezed us in immediately on a Friday night at dinner, then we had Sloan as our server and she was just as great! She was knowledgeable about all the food, efficient, sweet and even brought us a cute sparkler when we got dessert to celebrate our baby. I also will say I’m a bit hard to impress as I’ve been a server since I was 15 and she went absolve and beyond!! If you want great Italian and service go here and ask for Sloan!!
Pelato's is so beautiful and the food was amazing. Our server Sarah was super sweet and helped us pick out all the delicious dishes. The manager Ian came by and checked on us several times and we appreciate that. We will definitely be back.
Perfect experience overall! Alden was an awesome server - very knowledgeable, personable, & has a great personality! We will definitely be back again with family & friends to request her :)
Visiting from Charlotte and we decided to dine here, based on internet reviews. The food & service exceeded our expectations. From the Casanova cocktail to the arancini to the penne carbonara, everything was amazing. Alden was our server and she was so friendly and attentive.
Excited about this restaurant as I LOVE small plates! Absolute favorite was the frozen espresso martini and the garlic bread with the melted parm. Service started very strong and was not as fast towards the end of dinner. Very crowded but we were seated immediately with a reservation.
We ate at Pelato during a recent trip to Charleston and had high expectations based on other Google reviews, but it fell a bit short for us. First impressions: the place was packed, which felt like a good sign because it’s clearly popular. That said, it was also extremely loud. I couldn’t hear the person across from me, and the tables were so close together that it felt like we were dining with the couple next to us. As for the food, we ordered the burnt broccolini, which I unfortunately couldn’t eat due to soy, though I was told it was good. The seasonal burrata crostini was delicious. I loved the delicata squash with the burrata. The radiatori vodka was my favorite of the three pastas we tried. The bucatini cacio e pepe wasn’t the best cacio e pepe I’ve had and fell a bit short for me, and the campanelle shrimp limone was also just okay. Overall, the food was good and the service was fine, but it wasn’t quite memorable enough for us, and I probably wouldn’t go back.
