Went in and ordered carry out today - was pleased with the variety of offerings. The kind person taking my order thankfully told me my choice was very hot and offered an alternative that was still spicy but excellent - boneless chicken biryani. Definitely has a kick but the flavor is superb! We also ordered paneer butter masala which was “really good” per my kid! In addition, we got aloo samosas and stuffed peppers, garlic naan, and mango lassis. Everything was superb - flavorful, plentiful, and fresh! We are excited to have found Desi Vila!

Love the food here. My favorites are Mysore bonda, Chicken boneless pulav, and Veg keema pulav, which my kids enjoy. The masala used in biryani and the meat in the pulavs and biryanis are much better than in many other places in STL. Enjoy hot punugulu and hot tea here in the evening.

Mysore bonda is excellent — perfectly crispy with authentic Indian taste. The chutneys are fresh and flavorful, which makes it even better. The lunch combos are delicious and very satisfying. Definitely a must-try place!

Went in to get a door dash and it smelled really good so i had to come back to try some food! Never had indian food before, tried a non veg pulav pachi mirchi bonless and IT IS SO GOOD! Bit spicy but really good! People inside are very respectful too!

Had the Mysoor Bonda, Vada, with Allam Chutney at Desi Villas — and it instantly took me back to my childhood! The flavors were so authentic and comforting, just like the ones my mom used to make back home. The bondas were crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy inside; the vadas perfectly golden and flavorful; and that Allam chutney — absolutely spot on, with just the right hint of spice and warmth. It’s rare to find such genuine South Indian taste that brings back nostalgic memories. Truly a delightful experience — highly recommend for anyone craving homely, traditional flavors!

The food was delivered right on time and came neatly organized in a warmer, which made it easy to handle and serve. I have had the pleasure of ordering food twice at Desi Villas. The first time my husband and I ordered the chicken tikka and the potato samosas. My second time was for lunch and I got the lunch special. Both times the service was impeccable. There are some things I have not tried and the girl working let me have a couple of samples as well as some chai tea. Everyone there has been so nice and friendly. The food is delicious and the price is on point. I have tried other Indian restaurants in the area and the quality and quantity for the price have not matched. Everything that I have tried at Desi Villas has been amazing.

Great food with generous portions at fair prices. Mostly takeout, but they’ve got indoor and outdoor self-service seating. Feels homely and welcoming.

The staff were kind and helpful. I tried items from most sections of the menu, and overall the food was just average. The chestnut appetizers and dosa stood out as the better items. However, the Indo-Chinese dishes were overly salty, and the chicken texture in both the appetizers and biryani was not good. The restaurant feels more like a casual grab-and-go spot. There is a clean, functional dining area, but it is self-service only. Overall, it’s okay for a quick bite, but there’s room for improvement in food consistency.

Found this carry-out restaurant while picking up my friend’s catering order. The snacks were good, and the food was tasty. The only downside is that it’s a little bit expensive.

I purchased the lunch combo today, October 3, 2025, at 12:45 PM. I found a distinct ladies sticker/jewelry piece with two stones mixed into the rice. This is a severe food safety and hygiene issue that is completely unacceptable.
