Thursday at noon brunch. Everything was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was easy to order with good menu options. The food was all perfectly cooked so kudos to the cook for that. The croissant was fresh and lightly toasted, the eggs where cooked perfectly (rarely does one get perfect cooked eggs from a restaurant) and the yummy red potatoes where also fresh and cooked perfectly. Nice shaded outdoor deck seating with space heaters as well. Good location.
Local eateries are the best….just need a “local” to tell you where they are! Find Stratford Court Cafe and enjoy any meal (breakfast always my fav!). Friendly service, delicious food, fair pricing and they use @Toast, we love tech friendly places too!). A converted beach house, pleasant music and lovely outside seating! Go!!!
Gorgeous and quaint cafe just a couple blocks from the beach. A great laid back vibe with amazing food mimosas and coffee selections! The perfect place to eat and relax with your besties after a good hike:) We walked down to the beach to watch the whales migrating!!! The BEST breakfast experience EVER:)
I recently hosted a private event at Stratford court cafe. The venue is beautiful, the staff was so courteous and friendly! It was such a pleasant experience. I’d 10/10 recommend this place for private events.
Wonderful ambience outdoors with the beautiful ocean in the background. Food was absolutely amazing and I could barely finish the big portion. Our server accidentally sent out the wrong food to my friend but then brought out the correct order fully compensated. Service was great…nice friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this custom restaurant to anyone who visits this gorgeous location.
I love this peaceful cafe because you can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of trees, plants and flowers. The food is delicious with generous portions and plated nicely. Very good coffee and specialty coffee. Good variety of endless cup drip coffees.
Loved the patio, dog friendly! Quiet & warm with heaters.. my turkey croissant hit the spot But I wouldn't get the potatoes again. I'd get a side salad or fruit.
We came here for brunch on Saturday with my son. I had the veggie scramble and he had the croissant omelet. The food was delicious, but what truly stood out was the service. They were so attentive. As soon as my tea was finished, they came right over with a fresh one without me even asking. Thanks to Calia! They always have fresh coffee ready too. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm, the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. You definitely need to try this place. It really is a hidden gem.
Great morning place! We’re from out of town and love the 7am open for an early bite to eat before going about our day. Wonderful lattes and a hearty scramble platter!
Such a great spot in Del Mar for breakfast or lunch! We love impressing out of town guests with the charming atmosphere and it being so close to the ocean. You can never go wrong with the Stratford Scramble or the Turkey Club!
Adorable atmosphere! You order at the front and they bring food to your table, and it was efficient despite being busy. Such a good brunch spot!
Great brunch spot blocks away from the ocean you can feel the breeze , lovely patio with a water fountain sound as you walk in , beneficts were delicious and their generous fruit cup on point
I recently visited Stratford court cafe, and it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm and cozy ambiance made me feel instantly relaxed. The decor strikes a perfect balance between modern and rustic, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that’s perfect for both working and catching up with friends. Their coffee was exceptional and it was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. They clearly know their beans and how to brew them. I also tried their croissant which was fresh and flaky, complementing the coffee beautifully. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about their menu. Service was quick, yet never felt rushed. Overall, this is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality coffee in a relaxed environment after the amazing walk in the beach 🏖️. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Quaint brunch spot in Del Mar. the line goes quicker than it looks. The weekly special when it’s chicken chilaquiles is amazing. They don’t shred the chicken, instead it’s marinated and grills in bite sized chunks which I prefer. One of the best I’ve had in all SD county! Btw, the donuts are from VGs so if you see one you like, grab it, it’ll be amazing!
Such a great spot for gluten free waffles

First time to this restaurant. Very quaint and charming cafe. A place to go for ambiance and to be in del mar, not really for foodies. No inside dining, all outside on a large patio, underneath that nice California sun (though there's plenty of shade so that's not too much of an issue). Close enough to the park overlooking the beach and the main road, but still pretty quiet. Food was alright. Nothing to keep going back to personally. Everything was pretty expensive ($15+ per plate in picture) but on par with del mar pricing. Pretty sure the Stratford scrambled eggs had bacon bits instead of fresh bacon. The waffles tasted good, were soft inside, and slightly crunchy outside. Pretty plating, but overall forgettable. They do serve sandwiches and fruit bowls as well. Service was pretty good, water is self service, but servers did come by to clear the table when food looked done. Dogs are ok as it's patio seating, but please make sure your dogs stay near you (looking at those people with retractable leashes that aren't locked). It's very inconvenient when those leashes aren't locked.
Its a nice place, you won't find something as cozy and local as this for a casual breakfast or lunch. My wife likes the coffee there and she is very picky. More people than tables, eventually you gind one in-between the time you order and when the food is ready.
We came here for breakfast. Cute little spot in Del Mar tucked inside their coastal neighborhood. The cafe seems to be a house converted into a cafe. It has a large patio for seating with large yellow umbrellas. Food wise, we enjoyed a breakfast burrito which had avocado, bacon, potato and eggs with a side of fruit. We also had the avocado and edamame toast which had micro greens, tomato, pickled onions and feta on top of it. Overall, the food was good. I enjoyed my brown sugar cinnamon oat milk latte. It was not overly sweet. We will return to try more options.
Delicious & beautiful spot in Del Mar! Ordered the Perfect Breakfast Sandwich, the Household Benedict and Edamame Avocado Toast on sourdough with a fried egg (although we couldn’t find/taste the edamame…). Everything was so fresh, especially the fruit. Would definitely recommend the Perfect Breakfast Sandwich.
Stratford Café in Del Mar is the perfect spot for a relaxing morning. After a refreshing walk along the beach, there's nothing better than grabbing a delicious cup of coffee here. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal place to unwind. The service is friendly, and the food is tasty, with plenty of options to complement your drink. Whether you're in the mood for a light breakfast or just a pick-me-up, this café has you covered. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful place to start your day in Del Mar. Great vibes all around!
We had read and heard alot about Stratford Cafe. We tried the breakfast burrito and egg sandwich. We also ordered cappuccino and Frozen Caramel Craze. We didn't know it was a order ahead, get a number, then they bring your food to your table. Most of the parking is on street. Get very busy go get here early.
Ah, Stratford Court Cafe. A curious little establishment nestled in the heart of Del Mar Beach. One might say it's akin to a mid-level operative - shows promise, but ultimately fails to deliver on its full potential. The burrito, I must admit, was a pleasant surprise. It stood out like a well-crafted dossier amidst a sea of redacted documents. The smoothie, however, left much to be desired - reminiscent of a poorly executed counter-intelligence operation. The atmosphere benefits greatly from its proximity to the beach, much like how a mediocre safehouse can be elevated by a strategic location. But make no mistake, if you're seeking that picture-perfect ocean view, you'd be better off chartering a yacht. In the grand tapestry of culinary experiences, Stratford Court Cafe is a single, unremarkable thread. It's the sort of place one visits once, commits to memory, and files away - never to be revisited unless circumstances dictate otherwise. Like a compromised asset, it serves its purpose but doesn't quite inspire a return engagement. Three stars - adequate, but in my world, merely adequate is often just not good enough.

Mostly self serve but what service we did receive was not friendly. Counter order, wait on yourself style. The water you serve yourself in 6oz plastic cups with no ice from a dispenser tasted funny. Eggs Benedict was good but the waitress who dropped off our shared order couldn’t be bothered to ask if we needed anything else. Menu is limited. You won’t find a big country breakfast here, it was just ok.
Overpriced and mid. This place is your classic California ~exploit the nice atmosphere to over charge people for small portions and average food~ Would love to see more places like this lead by example and actually serve good food
I ordered the Stratford Scramble which is scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese, avocado and your choice of toast and I had sourdough. I was surprised and disappointed the description didn’t say the eggs, potatoes, bacon and cheese are all cooked together and the avocado is on top or a photo showing the execution of this dish. The avocado was fresh and looked fantastic. I like to eat my protein first and that was a challenge. The bacon that was in my scramble was chewy and I spit out several pieces. It was hard to extract just the scrambled eggs from the mixture. Very polite and friendly staff. They have several tables outside so you can enjoy the great weather while you eat. No parking lot, just street parking.
My friend brought me here for lunch. Parking was a nightmare around Del Mar so plan accordingly. Luckily we went for an early lunch but it still took us almost half an hour driving around before we found an open parking spot a few blocks away. There was a line to order about 10 people deep when we arrived at this cute restaurant in what was once an old home. Seating is all outside in the front patio. We had 4 people in our group and we had to wait a bit to find a table to accommodate our group so not an ideal place for groups larger than 4. Food was ok. I just think the lack of parking, slow moving order line, and lack of seating really wasn't worth the visit for the mediocre American fare.
Had high hopes for this cafe as the reviews were great. The cafe is located in a cottage and the location is walkable distance to the beach. Visited around 10am on a weekday, and the cafe was busy. It is mostly self service, where you grab your own table and have a number once you place your order for food. We ordered the waffle, which was alright and the cream was melted by the time we got it at our table. Scrambled eggs were underseasoned, veggie omelet wasn’t great, and lox Benedict was average. The only items we finished were the donuts. The food was average at best.

The lady and I were in the Del Mar this morning and were both craving breakfast sandwiches. The Cafe itself is a cozy and comfortable garden style outdoor patio. Dogs are welcome which is a huge plus! My Lady ordered an Iced Coffee and a Oinkster Sandwich with a side order of potatoes. I ordered a breakfast croissant (Bacon) with a side of fruit and a Everythings Rosie smoothie. Our drinks where delicious and the staff was nice. Our Sandwiches were a different story. For my crossaint sandwich they used Fake eggs that were undercooked and unseasoned, Bacon was soft and greasy and the cheese was melted on 1/3 of the sandwich. My ladys Sourdough bread was tough and chewey, also her side of potatoes tasted bland and unseasoned. For pricing these sandwiches at $13.75 you could get the same quality Sandwiches at Jack In the Box for a third of the price. Hope they improve there ingredients, would love to bring my dog here one day.
Burrito was subpar, the shell was cold and chewy. Smoked salmon was tough and tasted weird. Gluten free bread was terrible (many restaurant now offer much better gluten free bread). To make matters worse, they originally gave us regular bread which thankfully we noticed because the waitstaff did not. It’s not cheap too.
Nice setting. Cappuccino was ok. The worst Eggs Benedict (house version) I ever got in a restaurant. Every layer let something to desire. The muffin was not toasted or just barely if it were, the ham was regular, not Canadian bacon (ok fine), the eggs were way overcooked, like hard boiled except at the very center. Not what defines Benedict! The Hollandaise sauce was orange, flavorless, thin and runny, thus lacking not only in taste, but also in appetizing visual. (It was not only mine, take a look at other Eggs Benedict pictures taken by others!) The only cool thing was the shape of the egg, well rounded. For $17 Eggs Benedict, disastrous, move on and don’t look back.
Disappointed. The perfect breakfast sandwich on buttered rustic sourdough was dry with no butter and was more like plain white bread. The oatmeal was barely cooked and very small serving.
We had terrible experience today here. We arrived at 1:30pm ordered 3 food and owner brought hot food in plastic boxes as you can see after 30 mins delay and expect us to eat in these plastic boxes while sitting. They did not mention anything about take out or inside dining but just brought our food like this. Did not offer anything else. Terrible experience.
Our family had breakfast on Monday, 1/5. We were very excited to go there, but when we arrived and tried to order food, the reception staff didn’t even say hello. One lady was chatting with her coworker and didn’t look at us at all—no smile, no acknowledgment. The place itself is beautiful, but the staff showed no energy or sense of hospitality. It was disappointing.
