Tempted to give 4 stars because of some of the little things, but the food was a party in my mouth and deserves 10 stars. The key lime marinated salmon was by far the best salmon dish I have EVER had. Mango sauce and poblano mashed potatoes and veggies with the salmon just sang in my mouth. The flavors were so dynamic and symphonic... I wanted to come back the next day and get it again! The server's attitude was a little off-putting, like he was put out by having to wait on us. However, he did the job in a pretty timely manner after a 15 minute or so initial wait, and brought us surprisingly exceptional food. The queso blanco was decadent. The silver patron Margarita was amazing, and my husband got the chili relleno and felt the same way I did about the salmon. As far as ambience, there were a bunch of light bulbs out, paper towel machines in the women's restroom were empty, and a few other minor things I would improve, but there are some cool features in there that make the ambience pretty cool. If they would go the extra mile on service and some of the little things they've let go, I would pay more for that experience. Compliments to the chef though ..... Well done!

It's like mom used to make.....nah.....It's way better. This food is excellent, texture, taste...delicious. Portions were perfect. Denison Main St has some stellar restaurants and Rustico is one. Highly recommended!

Friendly owners and waite staff. Margaritas and drinks were great. The food was amazing. They live up to the name"Fine Mexican Dinning." The ambiance was spectacular. From all the artwork hanging on stone walls to the eclectic bar with wall trophies and even a mexican carriage in the main dining room. Very large restaurant with room for large parties and events. When we were there on Saturday night, they were accommodating two large parties, one of 20 plus and another 16 plus with a full house, and the service was seamless, and food came out quick. Compliments to the kitchen staff and management. We will be back soon.

This restaurant is so delicious. It’s family run. The workers are exceptional. The food is over-the-top delicious highly recommend this restaurant. This is our second visit while visiting Texas. The drinks are great chips and salsa is amazing.

My visit to this AMAZING venue occurred on April 12th. Family stopped by RUSTICO after running errands in the area and seeing the location, thought it might be a good place, even though the parking lot was not full. Upon entering, the atmosphere was AWESOME and INVITING, appears to be a family-owned & operated restaurant. All employees were polite and friendly (my only "negative" is that the employees did not engage a lot, maybe due to language - but we always appreciate communicative staff who want to talk and share). WE had chips and salsa quickly, drinks were kept filled and entrees were delivered promptly. The food was fresh and hot and I mean fresh made hot, not microwave or heat-lamp hot. I added photographs of our meals. The food was OUTSTANDING and a perfect serving size without being over-filled. We will definitely return to try evening dinner menu. This is a definite place to go if you enjoy Mexican food and would encourage those of you traveling to make this a place to stop.

Stopped in on a weeknight after a quick Google search for Denison restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised by the sophistication of the menu. I ordered Chicken Enchiladas Suizas that came with wonderful Elotes and a yummy pepper cream sauce. Hubby ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Chile Relleno and wow! It was packed with lobster and delicious. We also had guacamole as an appetizer, it was very good. For dessert we had an exquisite chocolate cake that was accompanied by a tangy mango sauce and fresh blackberries. The only disconnect was the choice of music- with a name like Rustica we were expecting some old school Juan Gabriel or Celia Cruz :) All in all it was a memorable meal…we’ll be back!

The food is the finest quality! You won't find better taste & flavor anywhere else! You really get what you pay for here! Rustico has great atmosphere as well. The service is superb as well! The servers are respectful, courteous and expedient. I gladly tipped 20%. I highly recommend the stuffed jalapenos! Absolutely the best I've ever had! Our meal for 2 was under $40. with appetizer! Chef Felipe gave us a scrumptious chocolate tres leches cake layered with chocolate ice cream & topped with whipped cream for my wife's birthday 🎂! Top notch destination!

After a busy day exploring, we didn't feel like cooking over our campfire and found this gem! Chef Gaytan is fantastic! Great atmosphere plus amazing food! My pictures don't do it justice as I was trying a new food filter.

The BEST Mexican food in Texas!!!! The food is amazing. We had the beef fajitas which were tender but well seasoned, the fajita enchiladas, the poblano pepper soup. The soup needs it's own review. It has a slight pepper bite and is very creamy but is exquisite. It is hearty and the bowl is huge! Service was perfect and a very nice atmosphere.

Very nice place, I had the enchiladas. Chips n salsa was very good. The food was served fast and was real decent. The white queso had a very authentic taste for sure. I’ll def eat here again.

Rustico is some of the best in Denison. The absolute best thick white queso! I always get the Puerco en salsa Verde because the pork is so tender and I love the sauce - but it's a lot of food! Yesterday, I switched it up and got the jalapeño bacon Mac and cheese appy and was Not disappointed! I'll be getting that again! Also, Felipe loves to regale with stories of Africa!

Got there at 7:00 pm, not busy! Slow to take drink order, even slower to fill drink order. Had to ask to have my tea refilled three times before the waiter did it. Food took way too long to come out. Food 3 on a scale of 10. The check took longer to get than the tea. They add a credit card fee so if you pay with cash make sure they take it off the ticket. Bottom line got out of there two and a half hours later. Never ever again. Save your time and money and go absolutely anywhere else!!
