Happen to go here on a Tuesday which is Karaoke night so if you are looking to do that or hear ppl on the mic then this is the night to do it, and it's also the closest place I found from Winstar, so yeah it's a drive. It felt good to do my Texas Karaoke debut at this place as well, had the crowd going especially being from the Oklahoma side.

Love this place! One time when I was married my husband was unfaithful. I haven’t told anyone about it yet. I know what he did.
Like I said on previous posts For bars on Fry Street if you do not do the Fry Street bar crawl On your birthday, you are not living. Mine ended with me in the ER with seven staples In my head A concussion and four days in the ICU and it was worth every minute of it. I had the best time of my life. Unfortunately, I chose to go to aces Not on fry street After afterwards And that’s what sent me over the top But all the games I played doing the crawl All the people I met in every bar And the experience I had on my second day being in Texas It was the best time of my life And every single bar on Fry Street was such a good time All the workers were amazing Tip your bartenders and servers always people I just had the best time Piece of advice, always in the bar crawl after you finish Do not go to another bar That is not on Fry Street if you complete the crawl This is a bad idea Go home Lol But do the crawl Live life and have a blast You will never regret it Even staples layer 🤣🤣🤣😭
Tyler is the best door guy in the world!!! Definitely recommend. Clean environment and nice people. Go have fun
This place is huge with plenty of space to dance. We run a podcast and enjoy seeing their posts on social media. There are literally activities every day of the week here. Monday throw back night Tuesday Karaoke nights Thursday college night and stop light party Friday ladies night Saturday social Saturdays (super packed) Sunday game night with a DJ and drink specials. This is probably the livest bar in Denton and it's close to campus.
Visited public house on fry street multiple times and have always had a great time. Staff is very fun and makes you feel welcomed, and they are very knowledgeable on drinks and recipes.

This place is not as bad as it's being made out to be on here. The patio outside is a very nice place to hang out, and there almost always seems to be live music of some kind playing both inside and outside. Drink specials are pretty dope here too. People need to stop hating.

Honestly I was going to leave a 1 star but the GM and his security were very professional and understanding even going as far as inviting us back in and giving me my money back. I wasn't going to leave a review however some things need to be cleared up. Hannah and Peyton both of yall were very rude and extremely unprofessional, let's get something straight I DID NOT throw a drink on you that's not even my character to do something vulgar like that, so the fact that you used that as an excuse to have me removed from the establishment was extremely uncalled for. I will admit I threw 40 bucks on a 20 dollar tab because yall were very classless over a question my friend was asking. I do get you all were busy, and you probably didn't feel like asking 21 questions, However that doesn't give you the right to talk and treat people any kind of way. At the end of the day being a bartender is very stressful if you can't handle it leave, don't talk to people any kind of way and then when they call you out on it, you want to call security. That's not cool at all and that goes to both of you. Now with that being said to the General Manager and his security THANK YOU, gentlemen yall did handle the situation very professional once again thank you.
I love the architecture and design of this bar but the drink deals aren’t any better than anyone else’s on fry street and the bottom bar is too welcoming to apex frat guys that want to rub their junk on your behind, super nice back patio though! Also what’s really weird is the bar has all kinds of weird rules about dress code when it’s IN THE MIDDLE of fry street where mostly college girls and guys come on the weekends to get drunk, not like this is in the middle of highland village or south lake, it’s just too pretentious for the demographic of people that come to this bar.

I came to this bar from a bar down the street I had 2 drinks total that night upon arrival. I come in order a beer and half way thru I need to use the restroom. So my buddy watches my beer for me. By the time I get back (not even finishing 1 beer) the bouncer is telling me I have to leave. I ask him why and he is reluctant to tell me. He just says I have to leave. I eventually leave, giving them no problems... I feel a bouncer should tell you what you did wrong in order to not do it again. I still do not know what I did I was dressed very nice and was friendly with all who I encountered. I am not sure I will ever be back. Luckily it did not ruin my night since all the other bars on fry street welcomed me openly. If it wasn’t for this I would’ve gave this bar a 1 star instead of 2. On top of that It kinda smelled.
First time going since I came to Denton two years ago, and to be honest I wasn't missing out. The atmosphere is okay but what really got me writing this is the bad/weird/outdated???? music they play. It's all repetitive, and not really good for dancing or keeping an upbeat atmosphere. Maybe come here if you're like already super drunk or something? idk

worst bar in denton!! the bartender lauren was genuinely the most nasty person i have ever met. my friend ordered a round of tequila shots and we were given green tea. not a big deal. when we tried to clear up the miscommunication she completely flipped out. she started raising her voice, insisting that “even with his accent she knows the difference between tequila and green tea.” he has genuinely never even heard of a green tea shot. she was rude, racist, and walked away when we asked for the receipt to make sure we paid for green tea. so so unprofessional and disgusting. i walked to another bartender to ask about the receipt and she was standing there making rude comments the entire time. the bar back came and kicked me out! when me and my entire group of friends left and were trying to explain the situation he said we were dramatic. the bartenders friend came to the door and started saying she was going to beat my ass. the barback stood there and let it happen!! my friends and i left and stood outside a few doors down when the bartender, her friend, and a group of girls come outside to try to keep arguing. not even 10 minutes later as i’m headed to my car a man is coming out of public house saying that he was called a slur when going to do karaoke and staff refused to do anything about it. based on my experience last night and many other stories i’ve heard since, public house is not a safe place for people of color, or anyone that gets served the wrong drink lol. do not go here.
Racist and rude bartender named Lauren making comments about my friends’ accent and denying bringing us the wrong drinks instead of just owning her mistake and moving on with the night. She was rude as soon as we asked her what we got served since it was not what was ordered. She fully denied making any error and just walked away in the middle of us calmly trying to clear things up on what was ordered. Then we got kicked out for calling her racist and rude behavior out and not letting her get away with it. None of the staff were helpful at all or even tried to listen to what actually happened. very condescending staff. do not recommend coming here at all.
Incredibly rude bartenders here. Do not recommend this place at all. Go to Lucky Lou's instead.
Very nice bar and cool people. However the bartender will rip you off! Me and my buddy ordered 2 lemon drops. Paid cash, everything was fine. Buddy wanted another 2 so we ordered another 2 and he handed her his card, total was $31! And when we explained we only ordered 2 lemon drops the bartender claimed she watched us drink like 6 shots and 2 beers?! No big deal? Maybe just unaware? So we told her very nicely that we only had to 2 shots! On top of that the group that ordered the $31 was standing next to us and was telling her “that’s our ticket, not theirs”. So how does she respond? She starts yelling to get out and kicked my buddy and I out! 😂😂 which she already swiped his card for the $31 and the other guy that we don’t know who’s order it was is the one who signed the receipt…so really we could dispute the charges but it’s NOT THAT SERIOUS! So for us to get kicked out, like come on…don’t rip off customers then kick them out, it’s not a good look. (There were two blonde bartenders, a cute professional one. And then there was the scammer blonde who’s shorter and has bug eyes) (and also let me add me and my buddy were respectful and once she started yelling for us to get out, we did…but she caused kinda a big scene for nothing)
They will let everyone call you slurs. And once you tell the bouncer, they will kick you out. DO NOT GO!!! NOT SAFE FOR LQBTQ+.
I recently visited Fry Street Public House and was deeply disappointed by the rude behavior of one of the bartenders, Yukino. From the moment I approached the bar, Yukino made it clear she had no interest in being helpful. When I asked about the drink options, she gave curt, dismissive responses, making me feel like I was inconveniencing her just by asking. Things got worse when I noticed my drink was incorrect and politely brought it to her attention. Instead of fixing the issue calmly, Yukino responded with an annoyed tone and a sarcastic comment, making the situation unnecessarily uncomfortable. I’ve enjoyed this spot in the past, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Fry Street Public House is known for its great atmosphere, but employees like Yukino are doing it no favors. I hope management takes steps to address this kind of unprofessional behavior.
The bartenders were great, however the rest of the staff was plan rude. I’ve NEVER been somewhere that forces people to stand up from sitting so they can take the bar stools away. Maybe 10 minutes later they came and took the table we had our drinks on. I simply asked the guy why he was taking the tables and his response was “I’m not going to argue with you. You can leave if you want” WOW I will never recommend this place ever!
I love going here because the atmosphere is wonderful, but I won’t be using my card here anymore. The last two times (that I’ve noticed) they’ve tipped themselves without my consent. I let it slide the first time because I had forgotten to close my tab before I left, but this most recent time (10/28) I only got one drink and closed my tab, my account was charged $6... however I just checked my account and it went up to $8. After reading multiple reviews of people running into the same problem, I think management needs to step their game up and talk to their employees.
This was my first time coming here, but I definitely won’t be going back. The bartenders ignored me & my friends all night(we’re black) each time we approached the bar they would see us & serve other people around us the entire night. You would like to think racism is dead, but then things like this happen.

Do not recommend going here. Security is definitely biased to who they let in. They would not let one of my brothers in because he had on shorts but a guy wearing the same exact clothing was let in not even 2 minutes after and we asked the guard why and he said "the other guy slide him $20..." Definitely will not be returning here any time soon or at all.

Horrible bartenders! Last Friday night I went with a friend bought two drinks total of 12.50. Monday morning woke up to my bank statement saying 41.00! Bartender told me the card reader wasn't working so she asked if I had cash.. I responded with a no. So she told me I had to leave a tab open.. I didn't mind... but wondering what happened while she carried my card? Anyway clearly closed out at 12.50.... still wondering why my statement is saying 41.00? We need more trustworthy people!!!!!!!!! Left millions of voicemails and nobody can give me a call back! Seriously?
