The Valentine’s Day dinner was such a treat! The service, presentation and meal were top notch. Thank you to Matt and Adam for the hospitality.
My wife and I chose Hannah’s Off The Square for a pre-Valentine’s dinner on Friday night, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation as one of Denton’s top local spots. I made our reservation through OpenTable, and everything was seamless from start to finish. The restaurant was easy to find with plenty of parking available, which made the evening start stress-free. From the moment we walked in, the staff warmly welcomed us and promptly escorted us to our table. The noise level was just right — lively but still perfect for an intimate conversation. Annalise took great care of us all evening, serving with a beaming smile and checking in consistently to make sure everything was just right. We both started with the fresh, crisp kale Caesar — a perfect opener. For our entrées, I decided to be adventurous and ordered the seasonal wagyu, which was absolutely delightful and beautifully prepared. My wife couldn’t stop raving about her ribeye — cooked to perfection and full of flavor. What truly elevated the experience was the attention to detail and hospitality. The chef personally delivered our mains, and the owner stopped by to welcome us, ask if it was our first visit, and invite us back for the next seasonal menu debuting in March. There was no rush, no negative energy — just a team that clearly takes pride in their craft and their guests’ experience. We’ll definitely be returning for more date nights. Highly recommend Hannah’s Off The Square for anyone looking for a refined, yet welcoming fine dining experience in Denton.
Fantastic choice for a special occasion! The service was awesome, the food was soooo good, and the ambiance was warm and comfortable. The filet and ribeye were noticeably excellent cuts of meat. The crab+salmon cakes and the key lime pie bookended a superb meal with more deliciousness. Add to that a great wine selection, it was a memorable dinner for my wife and I.
We happened upon this place completely by accident, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of charm — the kind of spot that makes you want to linger over your meal. The menu featured fresh, seasonal dishes that were clearly made with care and creativity. Every bite was delicious and beautifully presented. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive without being overbearing, and it was clear they genuinely cared about making sure guests had a great experience. The owner even stopped by our table to chat, which added such a personal, friendly touch — you can tell they truly take pride in what they’ve created here. We will definitely be back in the future!
Hannah's is for sure a Michelin Guide-worthy-of-a-mention restaurant. Come hungry, come curious and come with friends and family! Perfect place to impress a date too. Or the wife on your anniversary. We came with a specific urge and that was a big juicy burger. Guess what Hannah's has?! A one big juicy burger with 1/2 lb patty. It passed with flying colors. It was a battle to leave some space for a dessert, but we managed to accomplish just that. Personally, I could use a picture book or a full on presentation of all the named out dishes. It was so hard to choose. We picked a carrot cake and a flour-less chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet. The servers are attentive, knowledgeable and professional. We left reluctantly, wishing we had bigger stomachs. The experience was satisfying and uplifting.
Visited for lunch as I’m always looking for local gems as I travel. Super cool restaurant with a very nice vibe. Definitely a date night spot when you’re in the area. Sat at the bar for a relaxed lunch with a very unique, diverse lunch menu. Definitely on the upper price range for lunch but it was worth it.
If I could give this 6 stars I would, Brunch here is to die for, cocktails are great, food is amazing. Our server was the bartender and she was great, plus really good with the drinks and menú explanations. Truffle fries feed like 4 people keep that in mind, they are reallyyy good. We had the Grand Marnier French Toasts, the burger, Smoked Salmon crepes and the Croque Madame they are all delicious. Daily breads were really good also.
I can't believe this was our first time here (our friends who brought us have been b4). Just blown away by not only the regular menu, but the seasonal too....oh, and they had a daily special! Service was spot on (I've managed Zagat and Michelin restaurants before), and I know great service. Prices were reasonable too. Not steakhouse spendy, but definitely not fast casual. And the best part, what you received for the price was great - I hate using "value", but they hit a sweet spot. Suffice to say we'll be back - it's not a far drive, but well worth it.
A Review of Hannah's in Denton, TX Hannah's Off the Square is a true gem in Denton, and my recent visit was a perfect example of why it's a must-try for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. I had the pleasure of trying the Hannah Burger 21 and the Salmon No. 7, and both dishes were absolutely outstanding. The Hannah Burger was cooked to perfection, with a juicy patty and a delicious combination of toppings that created a truly memorable flavor profile. The Salmon No. 7 was equally impressive—flaky, perfectly seasoned, and served with a complementary side that highlighted the quality of the fish. I would give both of these dishes a 9.5 out of 10. They were not just meals, but culinary masterpieces. Beyond the incredible food, the service was top-notch. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The entire staff seemed to be on the same page, and it was clear that the high level of service is a priority. A special shout-out must go to the manager, who was a great presence in the restaurant. They were actively engaged with the staff and customers, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that everyone was having a great time. This kind of hands-on management makes a huge difference and contributes to the overall excellent atmosphere of the restaurant. Hannah's is more than just a place to eat; it's a complete dining experience. With phenomenal food, great service, and a good manager at the helm, it's a place I'll be returning to again and again.
We always bring people here from out of town for a nice meal or come here for special occasions. The drinks and food are great. Service staff always have great attitude, professional hospitality and are attentive. For our anniversary dinner they put rose petals on the table which was a great touch. My husband always orders the prosciutto wrapped chicken and I like to change it up. We order the bacon wrapped dates appetizer every time. The truffle fries are a good appetizer to share with 3 people, with two people it’s kind of a large portion. Everything is delicious here (except the salad with scallops and mushrooms, that was weird and bad don’t get that). I love their seasonal options and everything tastes fresh! I feel the prices are reasonable for the quality of food. We love coming here! Do make a reservation for popular nights like weekends!
OMG! If you haven’t been, you have to go!!! What an incredible spot for a dinner packed with bold, mouthwatering flavors! Our entrées were absolutely spectacular—every bite was an explosion of deliciousness. And don’t even get me started on the desserts… SO. GOOD! Whether you're celebrating something special or just in the mood for a treat, this place delivers! We devoured our food so fast there wasn’t even time for photos (LOL), but we did manage to snap a few pics of dessert. Trust me—you won’t be disappointed!
Husband and I made reservations for our anniversary this past Saturday. It was our first time here. From start to finish the customer service was excellent. We were greeted at the front by the hostess and host who told us happy anniversary and taken to our table immediately and it was decorated with rose pedals for our anniversary. We were then greeted by the server who went through all the specials and again told us happy anniversary. We ordered a special appetizer, octopus and steak and some bread and margaritas. It was all incredibly delicious including the drinks and I am not a big drinker and very picky about the drinks I do have. During our meal we were greeted and checked on by the owner and our server always made sure our drinks were full and nothing was needed. After our meal chose our dessert which was crème brûlée and it was also amazing and given to us for our anniversary. Throughout the entire dinner we saw the owner Phil checking on guest, clearing plates and much more. It is very rare to see an owner so involved. Our server was Adam and he went above and beyond and was excellent. We will definitely be returning.
Absolutely loved this place. Super quiet and low key restaurant. My wife and I dined here for our 7 year anniversary and had a reservation for 2 pm. We were seated quickly and they had rose petals on our table, which was super nice. Waitress came over and served us waters and told us the daily quiche. I asked what her favorite appetizer was and she said the bacon wrapped dates. I personally wouldn’t have gone with this, but I took her recommendation. I ordered a bloody Maria and my wife went with the Bloody Sunshine. The drinks were absolutely perfect! The bacon wrapped dates were served with fried shishito peppers and pepper drops and this dish was spectacular! Highly recommend. For our meals, I ordered the Hannah’s burger and fries, and my wife the Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas. My burger and fries were great, so the fries being the star of the meal. I would definitely want more of the fries. My wife’s meal was the best! The green chile chicken enchilada was perfect and just the best dish I’ve had in a long time. Definitely will come here again.
My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal here about 4 years ago and of course we have been back multiple times. Our visit tonight was absolutely phenomenal though. Our server Whitney was so kind and had an intuition like none other. The food was amazing as always but tonight’s experience and service was just above and beyond. I love that they have a mocktail menu! Recently sober and it was so nice to have a delicious drink to sip on while the family had their glasses of wine
For a guy that loves to give 5*, this is hard for me! We dined at Hannah’s last night. We heard many great things but this was our first visit. I really liked the table arrangement where there is ample space between tables. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive at the beginning. It took a very long time to get things from the kitchen… we were there for 30 minutes before our food order was taken. Our drinks were dry for a very long time until the owner came around with a pitcher for refills. The food was great. No complaints. The big issue is when our friends attempted to use a Hannah’s gift card. They had the receipt from the original purchase. They’re business owners and so are we. Ironically, we were talking about books that helped us in business. “Customers for Life” by Carl Sewell and “Unreasonable Hospitality.” Each book discusses a relentless pursuit of client happiness. The card was from years prior. Nothing written with an expiration date. They refused the card. When the owner of the restaurant came to the table he said “I’m not taking the card. Is that ok?” I asked him if the business changed hands. He said no but he changed their system. I challenged him softly but he held his ground that he was refusing to take the card. What was he thinking? No, it’s not ok! But, because my friend is grace-filled and professional he said “That’s fine.” But, as soon as the owner left, we compared his actions to the books mentioned. My friend said “If he would’ve offered to comp just 1 desert I’d be okay but he did nothing. It shows me what kind of establishment this is and I won’t be back!” Customers for life. We could’ve been regulars but instead we have a bad taste in our mouths and it’s not because of the food. And, spread the word that a gift card from Hannah’s is a gamble if you’re buying as a gift.
Don't bother going anytime after 6:30. Me and my girlfriend had reservations at 7:00, we ordered around 7:15. They were out of both the steak and chicken entrées which is what we went for.... for an American cuisine restaurant you think they would have these stocked. I get if we came late, but to be completely out at 7 is unacceptable for a restaurant "of this caliber". Service was lackluster as well, waitress forgot 3 things in a row. For the amount of money they are charging, the staff they hire should be on there game, which unfortunately she was not. If you are looking for quality service, you will certainly pay for it here.... and probably not get the experience you are looking for. EDIT: So yall catered to the walk ins, instead of saving inventory for for people that had reservations... mind you 2 WEEKS in advance. This is a simple inventory management problem that could've been simply solved by making sure you had stock for your guests WITH RESERVATIONS, before catering to the walk ins. Thanks
