Perfect experience, the pork curry was delicious
100% a real human and not AI generated to leave good reviews. Super good if your not sure what to get my go to is bbq pork fried rice, it's to die for. I get it level 6 spice because there spice scale(1-5) is for white people who can't eat black pepper. Well I'm a white guy who wants to die so throw that heat my way!
My boyfriend surprised me and took me here. SO GOOD! He ate the whole bowl of edamame in like 5 min haha! I inhaled my meal so quickly I didn’t even get a photo haha! Worth every penny and will definitely be back.
I love this place. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. Their food is top notch, very fresh. Meals are well balanced and cooked to perfection. Renovations were well done. Denton needs to meet the new O.G. and take advantage of this tucked away gem. Cheers!
I love the Red Curry. Try it 3 star (In house spice ranking, 5 star is hottest. 3 star clears my sinuses right up, and the red curry has a nice sweet flavor to help balance the spice. I always get the pork. They do serve Peanuts, and products made from them.
Everything was delicious!!! Perfect flavors and right amount of spice! 😋 This is definitely my top Asian restaurant!! Customer service is superb as well. ❤️ Will come back!
This place is amazing!! I haven't had such good Thai food in a long time. I literally felt I was going to cry from how good it was .I got Red Curry , everything was seasoned perfectly. The price is amazing and Julia was super sweet and friendly. I love this place and happy I found it !! The only complaint is that the dinner portion be twice the current size!!
Their pineapple fried rice is outstanding. I would also recommend salmon panang curry. Pad Thai, on the other hand, is so so. They also have pretty good desserts too.
This is not a Chinese or Japanese restaurant and they don't have sushi. It was not what we expected but it was incredibly delicious. The steamed edamame was the freshest I have ever had. The egg rolls were fantastic. There are a variety of noodles bowls, soups, curries and other dishes. Lots of Thai. All the portions are gigantic and the food is so good! Absolutely a different but great Asian place. I hate enough for three days and loved every bite.
The food here was really good, the service was a bit slow but not bad. It is definitely a sit down restaurant. The food was great, the dark blood broth soup I got was a bit sweet but the shrimp rolls I got and the pad Thai were AMAZING
Oriental Garden has been a staple of mine for quite some time. They are moderately priced and have decent customer service, but I rarely dine in. Recently, I had a pickup order with them and everything was so nicely bagged and hot and none of the sauces leaked outside of the containers on the way home, so I was very very happy. They provide a good amount of food for a pretty decent price and I will probably return again soon.
Their lunch specials are amazing deals! Their dinner prices are reasonable too. I always get the green curry with tofu and eggplant. Idk why but it always just completely hits the spot. Good service, and the location is super close to campus!
They recently changed their whole menu to just Thai food and boy was it for the better. Everything before was mediocre at best. Now they have some really good food. The mango curry was one of the best curries I've had, so good we made our own version at home. I recommend getting level 4 or 5 spice if you want it closer to authentic tastes on any dish though.
Great food for an amazing price. We got spicy edamame. It was very spicy! The food display was aesthetically pleasing, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Greeted by green live plants as soon as you walk in which I appreciate!
We had been looking for a good yellow curry and we found it! Their stir fry and fried rice were also good!
This place is the bomb. I always go here 2x to 3x a week and they never disappoint me. The servers are the sweetest too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The stir fry stuff are the bomb. Fried rice are tasty. Idk with the appetizers tho. But overall 5/5.
We had this delivered last week and it was amazing. If you can't find something to like on this menu - give up. The delivery was quick and packaged beautifully. Order now!
This is by far the best non-upscale Asian restaurant I have eaten from in years. We haven't visited the place yet, but ordered online due to the great reviews. We had sweet and sour chicken, Tom Kha Gai soup, fried rice, and Pad Thai...each of them delicious. Their food had a lot of fresh veggies and it didn't have the typical salty taste from MSG, so they may not be using any or just little.
Food is delicious, plentiful, and well priced. The atmosphere is relaxed and not overbearing with "theming" like some restaurants. The only issue I've ever had is with their physical menus. They are a little cumbersome due to their size and style. But if the only problem is a big menu, I think the restaurant is well worth it!
Really nice twist on their dumplings recipe! The calamari had the perfect crunchy coating. And the sauces that go along with both of these are unique and desirable! If you love yellow curry this is the place to get it!!
Just moved to Texas a couple months ago and finally decided to give this place a shot....I'm just Completely stunned. To be honest I was kind of expecting some average food that was good in an alright type of way.. all I have to say is the Thai fried rice is a freaking must-try! You simply won't be disappointed eating food from here.
My husband and I were super hungry and wanted a fresh and warm meal. We drove by this little place surrounded by plants and the ambience was truly mesmerising. We ordered fried rice, khao suey and some starters. The food was delectable and appetising. I would definitely eat here again. It was worth the money and the calories 😊
Genuinely my favorite restaurant in Denton. My partner and I regularly go here and the food and service is always phenomenal. Highly recommend any of their rice or stir fry dishes, their Thai tea and coffee, and their gyoza.
I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!!!! THE FOOD IS ALWAYS SO GOOD AND THEY NEVER DISAPPOINT!!!! AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS SO COMFORTING AND COZY I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT 🙌🙌🙌🙌
This is my favorite restaurant in Denton! I have actually driven from dallas just to eat here. Their prices keep on inching up tho...
Incredible restaurant. Reese and Charles are great servers, the pad see ew is the best I’ve ever had, and the music choices are immaculate. This restaurant has helped me get through college, can’t recommend it enough.
Oriental Garden is my favorite restaurant in Denton. We come here for my birthday usually, but I also bring my partner and my friends often when we want someplace good to eat. Any of their dishes I've tried over the years have been great. As for my go-to's, OG's mango curry and green curry are AMAZING, as well as the fried rice, which reheats really well! They also offer non-meat protein options, like tofu, at no extra cost :). There's always enough food for leftovers, and even my picky eater friends like it because they know exactly what comes in each dish. (Speaking of portion sizes, the Thai tea is great and comes in a pretty big cup!) I also can't stress enough how much I love the energy in the restaurant--I'm pretty homely and even I would choose to come eat here. The atmosphere is wonderful with warm lighting and a variety of self-seated options for where to dine. The service is fantastic because the servers are always very friendly and never mind if I need extra time to decide what I want. They always make me want to tip extra because they're very personable, but not pushy. I would absolutely recommend OG to anybody in Denton who wants good, reasonably-priced Thai food and a great atmosphere to eat it in.
The restaurant was fully decorated for Halloween and full of plants, which created an amazing ambiance. The staff was super friendly, and the service was really fast. The food was very good. I got a pad kee mow and a Thai iced tea. The noodles were amazing.
Absolutely wonderful! We went here for the first time when we moved to the area and we have been coming back for the past 6 months and are never dissatisfied! We go multiple times a month one of our favorite places to eat. The chicken pad Thai is delicious! Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
So delicious! Wonderful service and great atmosphere. We loved it!
I work down the street at UNT and walk by this restaurant often. Decided to try today and glad I did. Great friendly staff and the food was hot and delicious. I got the Red Thai Seafood curry. This will start being a monthly stop in for lunch!
Found this cute place via google reviews (we were on our way to Houston). The food was amazing! I had yellow curry with shrimp, my husband had the ginger veggies with chicken, the kids had pad-see-eew, and we all shared spring rolls and chicken satay. Yummy! Service was also great. Our server, Mallory was super sweet and attentive. We'll definitely be back when visiting the area again :)
This place is super cute and has delicious food! I got the pumpkin curry and egg custard and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. They have many options for food like soups, curry, fried rice, and more. There is also a good selection for desserts and appetizers. The people were very kind and pricing is not bad either. I would highly recommend trying out this restaurant if in the area; you're in for a treat!
I’ve lived a lot of places, eaten a lot of Asian cuisine. This place is my favorite. The dumplings have complex texture and flavors throughout that wasn’t like anything else I’ve had and incredibly delicious. The sauce they’re served with is perfect with a little heat in it. I’ve had versions of Thai, Vietnamese, and American Chinese dishes from here and they are excellent. My son got the orange chicken and it wasn’t breaded thick or dripping in sauce. It felt almost healthy, with a slight tempura and a very thin sauce with rich flavors. Hands down impressive. Every dish is like this. The perfect blend of veggies and meat for the Thai Basil meant every bite had both available from beginning to end. Mine had pork and there was no fatty sections on any of the meat. The service inside is excellent. The attitudes of everyone are positive and helpful. They’re extremely friendly but not even close to overbearing. It’s a hole in the wall place with a small interior and minimalist decor, the music is muted mostly, but the food is outstanding as are the people. Highly recommend.
Good Thai restaurant. People here are so nice, gentle, and polite. When I visited the place one Thursday night 🌚, there were hardly any people there. It was easy to get a table there. Very calm atmosphere. The waiter came in between for asking if we are ok if anything is required if are we happy with the food, etc. And about the menu, I think most Thai restaurants have common dishes. Here also you can expect the same. Vegetarians also have options here.
What a great place for very good Thai food! It's a very reasonably priced, cozy atmosphere with friendly and fast service. We had the typical dishes you would order when its your first time at a Thai place. Pineapple rice, chicken satay, Orange chicken and Pad Thai. I like you have protein options even though we are not vegetarian. We will definitely be back!
Hands down my favorite pan-Asian food joint. It’s not that everything they make is delicious (it is), but that the flavor is strong and solid and you can taste the layers of ingredients. From their dumplings to their chef specialties, everything comes out perfect. We’re to the point of ordering things we haven’t eaten before, just to work through the menu. The price is on the upper end of acceptable for Denton, but feels like value when you get the food. Great place if you have a group of people who don’t want to settle for one brand of East Asian cooking styles.
So glad I checked out this restaurant today with my hubby. The outer appearance doesn't look too aesthetic, but once inside, it's a decent place. Fried rice was excellent! The atmosphere was very laid back, and the staff provided fantastic customer service. I will definitely return.
I love this place. We come here semi-frequently and the food is always delicious. Try the calamari it's cooked to perfection. I've seen other reviews saying that the portion sizes are small for the price but my experience is they give large servings for a good price. I usually get the chicken pad thai and it's a pretty big plate for $9
The food here is sooo delicious and full of flavor, and the service has always been warm, welcoming and kind.
THIS PLACE IS SO FREAKIN GOOD YOULL ORDER SO MUCH U CAN'T WALK AFTER I CANT SAY EBOUGH ABOUT IT CAUSE I CANT MOVE RN I ATE SO MUCH THEY CASHEW CHICKEN AND VEGGIE ROLLS ARE FIRE AND THAT MANGO SWEET RICE ICE CREAM DISH SLAYED ME IM ACTUALLY UNDEAD RN AND PREAW SO SWEET AND KIND SHE MADE US FEEL REAL WELCOME AND TOOK GREAT CARE KF US THANKS AGAIN NEXT TIME I GOTTS GRT THAT FRIED BANNANAS AND CURRY
The pad thai is the best in the city, by a VERY wide margin. They're a staple of our community and deserve our business.
Crispy chicken fried rice is amazing as well as the combo rice and the entrees for the lunch specials are tasty and good deals. I also love how you can order spicy food 1-5 on the menu items. The dinner entrees could be a little larger for the cost, but the quality ingredients make up for the higher prices. Very good service as well and the location couldn’t be better! Update: I ordered Crispy chicken fried rice add bbq pork no egg and tomato and it was amazing
Have dined here for years now. My wife and I’s favorite place to eat in Denton! When we someday leave Denton, this will be the spot we forever yearn for.
Great food and amazing service. Everything I had from the menu has been phenomenal. The food taste so good and the coffee is amazing. There’s always consistency and the spice levels are great.
Service was great and food was delicious! I got the Combo fried rice heat 3 and the flavor was dope with just enough spice for me. My family had the Pad Thai, Mango curry, Thai fried rice and pad keemow and I tried them all and we were all pleased. When I come back to visit my college kid I’ll for sure come back out at least consider it so we can try different restaurants in the area. We’re like foodies 😁
Time after time this place consistently kills it with their food. My girlfriend and I got the Dumplings and Spring Rolls, which were great appetizers! Our server was kind and super friendly, I wished I remembered her name so I could give a shout out. Our entrees were really good and filling, had to take leftovers home. I got the Egg Noodle and Wonton Soup, the broth had a great flavor and the BBQ Pork was cooked well! I wish the inside was a little nicer and seating wasn’t all over the place, but doesn’t really matter if I’m just able to get a seat and enjoy some great food!
It’s a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has some of the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted! I haven’t been in a while, but I was in the area and had to get my fix. I would’ve posted a picture of the yellow curry with chicken, but it was half-way done before I remembered to take a picture. 😂 However, I did manage to snap a shot or two of their cashew stir fry with chicken my mom got. The food was fresh and plentiful! This was the lunch-size, and we still had lots of leftovers. If you’re in the area and wanting to eat local, please check this place out! It is so worth it, affordable, and Dentonesque. 😊
Okay so I’ve been going here for six years ever since I found out about this delicious place! It’s my favorite Thai food! This is the Pad kee mow. It’s a craving of mine and I just have to always get this dish. Never have I had any better also they have the best fried rice! And I haven’t been able to order anything else because these two dishes are to die for. Large portions!!!! Love this place forever!! Highly recommend.
We tried the green curry chicken fried rice and the khaaw khaw fried rice. Both of them were delicious, but we preferred the green curry fried rice. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming, with beautiful decorations including plants and lights. The server provided excellent service and always had a smile on their face. We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the restaurant's decor.
Great food, it has a distinct grilled/ smoked flavor. Vegan options if you omit egg. questionable price point. Expensive for the average compared to other Asian restaurants. I have ordered a few curries, soup, and pineapple fried rice. The curry is really good - equally the pineapple fried rice.
Been to this restaurant twice! Wished I had known about this place sooner! Love the aesthetic decor and the food is good. However, the waiting service can be worked on to become better. I can tell the servers are new and younger. They seem a little bit unsure and scared. I kept getting repeated service by two different servers throughout my visits which now has become annoying because it was interrupting my conversation with my friend. For example, did we want to order any appetizers then later can I get you guys some to-go boxes. I highly recommend you guys try the traditional waiting services like other restaurants meaning one server is assigned to one or two tables and completely takes care of those guests from start to finish. This will also help clarified to your guests which server to call upon. Another table had signal for help and like all 3 servers were on it. A bit too much there. Plus, we felt rushed when the restaurant wasn't even full. I had picked this place because it was quiet enough to have a long conversation versus yelling over the noise from a busy restaurant. Also, please place some plants outside for decorations to show that you guys are a fun and open restaurant. I didn't stop by sooner because it looked dead and closed on the outside. I hope you guys consider my recommendations as I look forward to seeing you guy grow in success and stay in Denton.
They have an amazing fried rice. I did takeout and they forgot to put the meat in the soup. It's a good thing that broth is tasty. I like their food as the flavor is not from a lot of salt. They seem to layer their flavors.
Large menu with Vietnamese, Thai, and a variety of pan Asian choices. Food was great, large portions and served quickly. Avoid lunch hour since it's next to campus and gets very busy. Pumpkin custard was served... in a small baked pumpkin, how cool!
Just finished eating the Pad Thai & Sticky Rice. Neither was worth a 5 Star rating. Never eaten here before & never will again. The chicken was dry & tough. The rice could not even pulled a part to be eaten. This is my opinion, maybe others have had better meals but we did not.
kind staff, excellent laid back atmosphere, good music. Kra prao dish had really nice flavor, unfortunately the chicken itself tasted off, like it was of low quality or old.
I used to come here often. However, the last time I was here, the food did not taste that great and portion sizes got smaller. Also, their menu does not reflect the current prices and you have to go online to see the prices
I'm loving this place! Got the all-meat fried rice, and the beef was surprisingly tender. The rice was a little mushy, not exactly "fried," but hey, it was a nice change from Benihana's. Those shrimp and chicken spring rolls were amazing though! It's clean, and taking the top off would make the patio awesome. Great decor and music too. And I got a front-row seat to the young lady doing her makeup the whole time! If you're looking for something different, give it a shot.
Great atmosphere, service and setup. Food is a mixed bag, drunken noodles were good while other noodles was not as good. Quality of food : 8 Taste and essence : 6 Presentation & Service : 7 Hospitality & Environment : 7.5 Price-value : 6.5 Cleanliness : 8 Red’s Final Rating : 7.17/10
Read review on another's take on the BBQ pork fried rice they said it was great their favorite. It made me excited to try because I really wanted this very dish and didn't know where in the area to get just that. Mind you I was really looking forward to it. However, my excitement and anticipation probably played a role in my total disappointment. It was not good, edible yes but not good. The pork itself was tasty but too dry. So disappointing I through it away. And no, I can't afford to just throw money away like that but I couldn't phantom having to eat all of it and well after 3 or 4 bites I was done. The plus, my neighbor had smoked some ribs. Now they were good and went down easy. Happy eating or Not
I really wanted to like this place but maybe we just ordered the wrong items…my husband and I ordered to go dinner for our first time at this restaurant and when we got home were extremely disappointed with what we received. My orange chicken was basically chicken nuggets in watered down orange juice. He ordered the “crispy” pad Thai which we realized was basically wantons instead of noodles. Panda Express would have been better. Extremely disappointed and will not be ordering from here again.
I only give them two stars not one because I've got to assume their food is decent. I however did not get to try it. We walked in at 8:33 on a Saturday night and were turned away. Apparently they do not like making money during reasonable dinner hours. I'm really only leaving this though because of how rude their server was that told us he wouldn't seat us and for the dirty looks their other staff gave us. Just be respectful and we'd be, well still disappointed, but not upset.
Great food. Plenty of it. The pineapple fried rice with chicken has provided two meals with another to spare. I'll be back soon! New cook. Changes to menu items that may be unsettling in spiciness if you were ordering an old favorite. I was disappointed, to say the least.
I picked Oriental Garden to eat at because of its good ratings online but I was extremely disappointed with what I got. For $8, my order included about 5 small nuggets of chicken and one sad scoop of fried rice that wasn't even edible because of the amount of some sort of sauce that was dumped into it. I don't know if it's because I had it delivered or because I ordered at 8 when they close at 9... but I was unimpressed with the lacking amount of food I received when I could have gotten a much better deal had I spent the same amount of money elsewhere. Save your money, order a pizza instead.
Great food and atmosphere. However, they do not take food back even when customers don't like it, which is honestly reasonable since this is a more local spot so I can get that. Another however, they made a mistake and accidentally split the bill and when we were already in our car to leave, they ran out to get us to go back in to pay the other part of the bill. I get that mistakes happen, but isn't this a service? A restaurant? Why put customers in uncomfortable positions like that instead of owning up to their own mistakes. Oh well.
i ordered two things online and one of them was sold out and i didn’t know that until i picked up the food, otherwise i would’ve bought something else. the sesame chicken i did receive was so over cooked and fried way too hard. i’ve had to scavenge for edible pieces. def not worth $18 for. heard this place was good but i’m not sure if i’d give them another try. i was soooo hungry too smh
Not only was this food expensive it was inedible. The soup was so sweet it tasted like sugary cereal milk. The pad Thai was a sugar bomb and was full of red onions and tasted awful. Couldn’t finish two bites of either. Never ordering here again.
My boyfriend ordered takeout for my him and myself, after picking up the order my boyfriend was assured that the order was 100% correct and all contents were in the tied bag. When he arrived home he was disappointed to find no crispy chicken in his crispy chicken fried rice (impressive). When he called to complain and make them aware of the error he was told they tried to call but they didn't have his correct phone number, even though he had tried to give it to the employee he ordered from and was told "I already have it". Long story short he returned to the restaurant for what he was promised would be a hot, fresh order of crispy chicken and was given the original cold soggy box that was left out of our order. Save your time and money, and take your business to Thai on the Square.
I’ve dined here many times, but my latest order was not acceptable. I placed an order for pickup and once I arrived home noticed we were mistakenly given white rice and not the brown rice we paid $1 extra for. I called and they said next time the brown rice would be free. Ok, not a problem, it happens. Once we get to eating, we noticed all of the vegetables are raw and uncooked. I called again and the person who answered apologized and said they had new cooks. She talked to her manager and said either we could bring it back or get free meals next time. I said that wasn’t ok, and we’d like a refund for this meal. She said ok, took my info and to check my account for the refund. So, we start re-cooking the food in our own kitchen and I get a call from the manager insisting he can’t refund the order unless we bring the food back. Bring the food back? I’m going to now drive across town on the count of your screw up? That is unacceptable. We will not be going back to OG.
Ordered sesame chicken heat level1 ,broccoli beef heat level3 both were the worse Asian food ever, heat levels were the same neither were hot. sauces were the thickness of water. Never again.
My curry fried rice was very dry…the rice was hard as if they used rice that had been sitting out all day to make my fried rice and the cream cheese rolls weee just rolled up egg roll wrapper…there was little to no filling in them…I’m very disappointed.
Overpriced, ordered tom kha soup and it comes in a cup or a bowl. Ordered the larger size because I was feeding two, it was 12$ and they didn't give me the size I ordered. Paid 12$ for a half filled container - just under a cup of soup with almost no fillings. The taste was also not great, it was very sweet, plus 4$ for a small serving of rice. Overall not a good experience. Maybe it was just close to closing time but I wouldn't go back.
Overpriced! Waste of $30!! I’m extremely disappointed in this food, the flavor would be OK, but I’m not sure what pieces of chicken this even is as they barely have any meat on them. The crispy noodles are burnt. The fried rice is barely a portion for one person overall just disappointed and dissatisfied. If it wasn’t far, I would drive back and argue to get my money back ASAP. If you are just hell-bent on eating here, I would avoid the sesame chicken at all cost. Smh
Ordered pickup from the website - left a small tip since it’s pick up and I used the site. I 💯 feel like I deserve a refund but do not want to drive back across town or argue with whoever is on staff about it . So out of frustration and disappointment I will leave a review. I wanted to venture out from the normal Mr. chopsticks(Which I regret!) When we Open our food the first thing was the rice- Had a HAIR right on top of it ! Almost like it was placed there on purpose! Perfectly laying on top of our white rice is a black short hair. I said, you know what you’re already home and we’re hungry? Let’s just pick the Hair off. Scoop some of the rice out and move on. But then my husbands orange Chicken had absolutely no liquid in it, and obviously had sat in the fryer for way too long. There was literally no chicken left and was so dry he (Who never complains) Couldn’t eat it!! At that point I took some bites of my food and Just felt so bad for my husband since his food was completely ruined, but I lost my appetite as well. I wish I would’ve gotten a picture of the rice, but I just wanted to throw it away as soon as possible and then decided to take a picture of the chicken. Very disappointing, especially because this is one of the pricier places! We paid $15 A piece and even left a tip Just to toss out our food. Whoever packed that chicken has absolutely no quality control Because it was straight up uneatable- The hair on the white rice on the very top when opening the box is also so disgusting
Tried this restaurant for the first time, was disappointed to find out that my $11.90 bowl of soup was only filled half way for my to go order. When I asked why this was and if it could be resolved I was told that it was to “let the steam out”. Un happy before I can even taste the food. Definitely not worth the price or hassle.
