Best dining hall I’ve ever been to! Im not even vegetarian but I loved the food. We came 3 days in a row to try all the diverse foods they offered. My favorite was Wednesday when they had Indian food. Highly recommend!
My favorite! I prefer to eat plant based proteins so this dining hall is perfect. The food is always packed with flavor. They have a “build your own” bar that’s different each day, and the best is the fried rice bar. The cake here is delicious and so is the soft serve. Easily the best dining hall on campus, you can really feel the passion behind the food.
Love the variety of vegan foods they have here, from waffles, tofu scramble, and fresh fruit at breakfast time and the pizza, soups, fried rice, grilled vegetables, curry, and American choices that they offer at lunch and dinner time. For desserts you can choose from fresh ice cream, cakes, brownies and cookies. There is always a salad bar with lettuce grown using hydroponics and packed with fresh fruit.

They have amazing food selection and quality. Can't wait to go back!
Favorite cafeteria at UNT. They have an abundance of choices and they are all tasty.
The ice cream was so good I forget that I had a class
Best vegan cafeteria in UNT. Love pancakes and waffles here
Pretty amazing experience. Basically eat anything that you can imagine, plus it is all vegan. Buffet
Mine might be a bit bias..I wish I could post a picture of the fresh lettuce I just harvested and am using today.
Great all you can eat with a variety of different cuisines throughout the week.
100% PLANT-BASED/VEGAN We love mean greens but have not been in a good while because of the serious problem with parking.
Awesome food, good selection, and great prices!
Great place to eat for vegans and vegetarians like myself
Good vegan food. Wish they weren't closed for the summer.
It was epic to eat
YO I FEEL S0 ACKNOWLEDGED AS A VEGETARIAN, THANK YOU
Fantastic vegan food that anyone can enjoy.
So great that they are open to the public! So cheap for so much food and every single thing was delicious! I can't wait til the next time we are up in Denton to hit this place up again.
Best vegan food in Denton! The food is always fresh, authentic, and delicious. I highly recommend it to everyone!
vegan heaven. period. 😍😍😍
Amazing all-vegan dining hall!! As someone who follows the vegan lifestyle, this place honestly makes it possible to attend UNT.
Great food, very reasonable prices in a vibrant dining hall. Did I mention it's totally vegan?
Having a hot peanut butter and jelly panini while hiding from my roommate always brightened my day. Always good fresh fruit
Great vegan food at a great price (with a University meal plan). What's not to love?
Excellent food quality and service. They serve something different every day and all of it is plant-based.
Best vegan buffet I've tried, they have a good variety and always good flavor.
the best drink is the blueberry lemonade and the best meal is the pizza. chocolate cake is amazing as well
definitely the best cafeteria on campus, regardless if you're vegan or not!
The BREAKFAST is good.
My favorite campus dining hall!
Great place go get a good vegan/ vegetarian meal. Denton citizens and non university students are more than welcome to eat here, you have to pay though. Staff is amazing and super friendly.
Amazing vegan food with tons of options, everything is delicious, and the dessert is extremely good. It's the best food spot on campus in my opinion.
This is probably my favorite dining hall on campus. I don't consider myself vegan or vegetarian, but never do I walk out of Mean Greens with an empty, unsatisfied stomach. I can't wait until my next visit!
Excellent food for a forced-vegetarian like me. It's a vegan cafeteria with good food and plentiful choices. I just wish their hours were better.
Amazing vegan food with tons of choices. I go here at least once a week. Everything I've tried has been delicious.
I must admit, the last time I ate here was 6 years ago. However, it was my favorite dining hall on campus! I especially loved the paninis, grilled vegetables, and curry. The food here was just so fresh and high quality. It felt like they truly put effort into making healthy, delicious food for students. One day, I will return to have it again.
Good variety of vegan fare. I end up eating a little too much. Staff are kind and courteous. Best to arrive right at 4:30pm when dinner service starts. I can't believe i went to this school for years without knowing this existed. A true campus gem!
In my opinion this is the best cafeteria on campus! I'm not even vegetarian, let alone vegan, however I eat at Mean Greens Cafeteria almost every day. The food is quality and there are lots of options. I really feel like there is something for everyone here. 🦅
best dining hall fr 🤞 The selection actually rotates (unlike other UNT dining halls) and they have tons of options so you never get tired of them, the food is always good, their breakfast gets me waking up in the mornings, absolute holy grail for a vegan college student in texas. i luv u mean greens <3 manifesting that one day they'll stay open on weekends :)
FYI: entrance is from Avenue C just south of Maple St. Walk up the small staircase just north of the loading dock for Maple Hall on Ave C, and the entrance to Mean Greens will be a brief walk down the covered walkway and through the double doors on your right. The chefs know what they're doing here! I tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner service all in the span of two days. For non-students, you can pay for any meal of the day for $9 + tax, all-you-can-eat. Tons of choices, and the variety keeps things interesting (e.g., veggie tofu scramble, red curry tofu, seitan yakitori, lentil shepherd's pie). The vegetable sides are cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully (e.g., roasted broccoli & parsnips, spicy orange carrots, sweet potatoes). Infused water flavors change day to day (e.g., watermelon thyme, peach basil, strawberry ginger). The only thing I would skip is any frosted cake: the icing is too sweet for my taste. But the chocolate chip bake and the brownie were both amazing. I turned them both into sundaes by topping them with vanilla soft serve. Next time, I need to ask about the freshly made veganini (i.e., vegan panini).
What an amazing experience. A cafeteria on campus focused on serving fresh, vegan food made from scratch. Even their seitan is made from scratch! I was so very impressed and would love to come back to eat and I'm not even a student! 😊👍
A-freaking-mazing. It's technically for the campus but everyone is welcome. It's a buffet. Everything is wonderful and vegan. I go as much as possible. The staff is incredible as well. I love everything about this place.

good food
The menu has yet to change for breakfast, but it isn't bad, all things considered.
It's a vegan cafeteria. If you're not vegan and don't like vegan don't go. I'm not vegan, but I like to eat vegan and vegetarian every once in a while, so I liked it. It's also cafeteria food, so take that how you will. I'm a UNT student with a meal plan so I can eat there for free.
For vegetarian and healthy options, I think the food is very good. Also, being compared to it's neighboring cafeterias, the options are more healthy and (in my opinion) taste a lot better!
Very good Vegan food even for non-vegans! Lots of options and yummy soft serve.
This is the best food on campus. Everything is fresh and a large selection of food. It's much smaller than the others and has a good atmosphere. I am not a vegan but choose to eat here because of the good quality. The drinks are good too. No soda, so you are forced to make a good healthy choice. The only thing that's stopping this place from having 5 starts are the servers. 50% of them are fantastic. The other 50% are not so.
