Mother’s Day , all of our “first choice “ dining venues were beyond capacity, with waiting times and lines beyond the average octogenarian’s coping capability. We decided to trust the New China King Buffet , and they really came through for us ! They had a special holiday banquet prepared. Everything was delicious! There was an additional charge for special occasions, but well worth it . We were seated promptly, without waiting, and were well tended to.

Went at lunchtime. Food was fresh, abundant, and good quality.

The food is awesome. Very nice and friendly staff, great service. My sisters and I had a wonderful time there and the price is right in my opinion. Great place. I definitely recommend a try.

Took my 7-year-old son here for Father's Day, and he declared it "the best meal ever"! The buffet had a huge variety, everything from classic Chinese dishes to kid-friendly favorites like chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. The food was fresh and hot, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The price was very reasonable, especially for the amount of food we got. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious, with plenty of seating. Overall, a fantastic experience, and we'll definitely be back! Highly recommend New China King Buffet for a delicious and affordable meal!

Cool place to eat with a nice variety of things to eat. Food was good and at appropriate temperatures they should be. (Went around 7pm.) -Walk in and wait to be seated, server takes your drink orders then you're good to go searching for what you'd like to eat. Took a picture of their current prices. -Clean environment, was pleasantly surprised and can't wait to go back. (Normally don't like Buffet's due to food choices and the way they taste but this food was good.)

Great place with great staff! I came with a group of friends. My first visit. Most of the food options tasted delicious. Some items I didn't like so me but it still tasted ok. I would definitely visit again with family and friends.

Ok I've been coming to this place since college. I visited when I was pregnant and come in from time to time with my kids. They have always been welcoming and remember us. My usual waitress Vicky wasn't there tonight but she is amazing very time. I have never had a familiarity where I hug my server but we always greet with hugs me and my kids. Even if months go by this place always remembers us. Today we went in for dinner me and my kids and my eldest who loves this place wanted to come for a early birthday celebration. She is autistic but is always happy and gets to be independent in getting her own food. Which may not be a big deal to some but it is for her and us. We'll tonight our amazing server surprised my daughter with a cake and candle and sang to her happy birthday and gave her a small gift. Also, to the ladies next to us who gave her birthday money when they didnt have too thank you. This place holds a special place for me and my kids and tonight made a new memory she is still overjoyed with tonight. I will always recommend this place for years to come.

Just ate at New China King Buffet in Denton and I’m genuinely impressed. The sweet-and-sour chicken was excellent and the sauce was on point (not that weird watery stuff). The soup was really good, and the noodles and rice were both fresh and flavorful too. Honestly… everything we tried was good. Even the sweet tea was great — and I’m picky about sweet tea. Clean place, food stayed hot and stocked, and it’s an easy recommend. We’ll be back.

The staff are always very nice and helpful. We’ve always been coming here for many years. We choose this buffet more than any other Chinese buffet in town whether we’re eating in or dining out we’ve all been happy with the food never have an issue with any of the food there or the staff, the staff are very very friendly. They even recognize this when we come in They’ve seen all my children grow up and always let us sit wherever we want. The food is at a fair price compared to a lot of buffets and is fresh not like when you go to some buffets and the food is real dry. It’s fresh here.

The food is amazing in a buffet mediocre way! The servers are so amazing and attentive, very kind! It’s not busy, the seatings not crowded. It’s very well spaced and played out for all you anxiety people! Soft calm atmosphere, soothing music playing and slightly dim lighting. Food is amazing and decently diverse for a smaller place. Food is well made. It is also VERY clean. I think this is the cleanest buffet I’ve ever been to. AND ITS CHEAPER THAN OTHER PLACES. Like probably the cheapest buffet I’ve been to that amazing. Really large buffet and clean restaurant. Very friendly staff and fair price even for a Sunday. The crab was cooked perfectly and the soup options were big for a buffet. Sushi is fresh and the spring rolls are very good but the peanut sauce is missing something that a little Sriracha was able to add! Dessert bar has many options from traditional sweets to fresh fruit and even a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN! In the back you will find a Mongolian style grill with a pretty good selection of fresh meat and veggies cooked fresh while you wait but in my opinion it was a little over cooked due to health reasons I'm sure. Nice place, good food and a great value. I'll be back.

Good food, huge selection, and it was pretty clean. The wait staff was pleasant and the drinks never ran dry and they kept our table cleaned off. Good selection for people with shellfish allergies as well, though I wish they would kind of keep their shrimp and other stuff on a table together and away from most of the other foods.

Hard to rate a 4 star but it wasn't a 5 star. Food selection was great. Nice variety from sushi, to Mongolian grill, to Chinese/ American choices. The dessert bar included 6 flavors of ice cream/sherbet. My complaint was that some of the food seemed to be leftovers from yesterday and it was not hot. Our waitress never let our drinks get dry or used plates to pile up. She asked us several times if we were "OK".

Sometimes this is the best buffets in Denton, but this last time I went I was a little disappointed on the lack of flavor the food had. Usually the food is beyond amazing, and the service is always great they always ask how the food is and always fill out drinks when they are almost empty. They have good music playing quiet enough to not disturb anyone that just wants to chit chat or watch a movie on their phone. All and all a great place.

We went there for a late birthday dinnner for our 15 year old. Most of the food was very tasty. However, Lo mein noodles tasted off. The sushi was good. Food was all fresh and hot. Service was nice. Our server Lily was prompt and polite. We all enjoyed the dining experience. We will go back.

Good selection of options to choose from. The majority of the food I tried was the correct temperature and appeared to be fresh. The only thing I didn't like was a chicken wing that was too spicy and cold. Had everything I liked and new things that I wouldn't normally order without trying first. Buffet area, tables, and bathroom were clean when I visited. Plates were removed quickly after we were finished. The hostess and busser were very friendly. Thought I'd have to roll my boyfriend out of there at the end because he kept wanting to try everything.

This used to be our go-to for Chinese buffet, but the last couple times the food has been dried out or overcooked. We may have just been there with someone having an off day, but the food has definitely been better. On the positive side, there is amble selection for whatever you are in the mood to try.

This is a typical Chinese food buffet. Some dishes are better than others. I like the choices for kids. It did seem the kids choices weren’t refreshed and were drying out. The ice cream freezer they have is awesome. You have like 6-8 choices of ice cream to choose from. Pricey, but if your kids don’t eat much, it will be a waste.

The buffet is well stocked with a large variety of freshly prepared food and it's kept clean and neat. The food is good, but I wouldn't say it was great. The atmosphere is much like a cafeteria, with many tables and lots of customers. I don't like that they have several televisions going with no sound. Why bother? You can't really enjoy the program and it interferes with table talk because people zone out on it. I would like the experience better if there were no TV's.

I usually stop here when shopping at the shopping center. To go plate is my usual, I have only eaten in once. Staff is quick to give you what you ask for, no additional customer service or smile is given. Food is usually fresh or warm, no in between. I like as a to go, pick up lunch or dinner.

The food is delicious. I finally found a Chinese buffet that’s similar to my home town . Love the food here. The prices are kinda of high, but I guess that’s the new normal as everything has gone up . Over all I love this place. The staff was great.

Not the greatest Chinese Buffet. Many dishes were soupy instead of having a thick base. The beef was tenderized oriental style which requires a complete rinse of the meat. Normally a good sauce brings back the flavor of the beef. This simple beef n broccoli dish had a weak sauce so the dish tasted like overcooked broccoli. They had steak on the hibachi grill. The steak was "mock" which is an oval steak with a strip of grizzle running down the center. I love grizzle and chewy substances on my beef so I was in heaven. Overall the food is worthy for a good meal. The waitress was outstanding. She constantly wanted to refresh our drinks. She was on top of replacing our plates. She was perfect. Since we had our two-year-old grand child we were set away from the normal population of diners(?). Another larger family joined our area too. It was quiet and private. It was perfect for us to visit and enjoy each other's company There are better buffets but this was okay.

suprisingly good sushi for being a buffet. it is mainly all crab, but was still wonderful. nothing was soggy or over-cooked. Server was great!

Typical Chinese buffet. Nothing much to say, the food was the normal chicken or beef dish with either noodles or rice and veggie dishes. Seating was a little tight for my liking, and service was ok. Mainly the food was good and hot and it was a reasonable price. Will come again if in the area.

This buffet has shrimp 🍤 and more shrimp varieties than I've ever seen, the coconut shrimp was yummy! Food was fresh, tasty and very good. Food area was clean and they were changing out fresh food trays. My absolutely favorite was the egg drop soup, it actually taste like egg! My other favorite was the sushi and believe it or not the bbq ribs were great! We definitely will be back and bring my Mom who enjoys a good Chinese buffet. My only suggestion would be to have antibacterial soap in the bathroom facilities as the bottles read shampoo and a little daily clean up in the bathroom.

Come here for their beef, ribs, & shrimp. Very good pot roast & ribs. Impressively tender & moist. Lots of shrimp varieties & they don’t skimp on thir servings either. Salad bar with jellos & fruit salad looked temptibg. Not as many veggie options. More stir-fried & fried varities. Their dessert options are wide too, including thrir huge tubs of ice creams. You’ll be full when you walk out. Warm & friendly staff. My 2 negatives are: #1. tilapia was under-cooked #2. location is in sketchy area with homeless folks

The food was great, no complaints there, much better than your average buffet. Price was also cheaper, 33 for 2 is about average for a buffet. The waitress made sure our drinks were filled and cleared dishes when we were done. The interior and exterior are just about the same old thing if not run down a bit. If you want a variety of food and not break the bank, I would definitely recommend stopping by. 👌

It’s just another China King Buffet. I feel whenever I review these places, I end up saying the same things, so I’ll keep it short this time. The decor was nice, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Most of the food tasted fresh, however all of the chicken tasted a little dry for some reason. It was strange, because the other meats like the fish and ribs tasted fine. It was a Friday night so they had crab legs, which were alright but I would’ve preferred a cheaper dinner over the option of crab legs. Oh well, I guess that’s my fault for coming in on a Friday night. Overall, it was a fine experience, especially for a long time fan of the China King franchise. Give it a shot.

It's a hit or miss here... Lately it's been all misses, the food is ALWAYS cold. I try going during lunch time to get the hot fresh food but I never seem to find any. They should just add a microwave on the side or something so we can be able to heat it up ourselves. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the waiters are always really nice.

The egg rolls were soggy inside.... the moo shu was salty and had quite a bit of liquid. They did wrap it nicely to prevent from going all over the bag. They also included these little pastry and package everything you need, Soy sauce, hot mustard, sweet/sour, fortune cookies and the little buns for dessert. That was nice.

Visited this location for the first time and I can say that the buffet needs a bit of improvement. There were not any Kung Pao options found on my visit. I tried the Orange Chicken and the General Sao Chicken and both were too sweet. Didn't take nor see any orange in the Orange Chicken. Fried chicken wings were absolutely perfectly seasoned and perfectly fried. Enjoyed the beer prices. Sushi options were a good addition to the buffet. Egg Drop Soup needs more Chicken flavor or bullion...even after adding green onion it still lacked flavor. For $8.49 + tax for a lunch buffet, this needs to be a bit better!!

Hey got food poisoning here 3 years ago but that’s part of the journey it’s part of the mission you can’t be mad at it it taught me a lesson and it’s a good teaching moment for the kids if you got any I don’t I just mean if you do, hey don’t drink the soup I think it’s a different animal a different creature they got up in it the sushi has a 52% chance of getting you in the ER but you take that risk that means there’s a 48% chance it don’t happen so there you go.

Restaurant temperature was nice compared to the heat outside. Staff were androidal. Nice selection of food, looked fresh. Like it was just put out to enjoy. As usual I got a take away because I was dining alone. Spare ribs were just the way I like them, with a little resistance when pulling the meat off the bone. The food was warm and not hot. When I get a take away I want it to be hot. Green beans in black bean sauce was just the way I like them, a little over cooked. Spring rolls only had lettuce inside, sad. All the dishes were cooked correctly. My take away only cost $6.00. i didn't get the bubble guts from eating there which means I will probably eat there again. Oh! No KimChi, oh the sorrow.

We like Chinese. But we are having trouble finding great Chinese food. Like used to be Hunan House in Ennis Tx. Most of the chicken items here are good. But broc beef, fish, dumplings could be much better. The had an item that looked like a cross between a bird and a fish that looked absolutely disgusting. I should have took a pic because u wouldn’t have believed it. We were a little ill after dinner. Too many weird tasting things.

The only reason that I’m rating this 3-stars is because when i played their claw machine they charged me 16$ when I picked the 3$ option and in return when I went up to the counter they gave me broken toys.

Its got some good food but also a bit salty. Like mongolian grill stuff is pretty good. Chicken skewers and egg soup is not bad. Crab rangoons are my personal favorite. Otherwise some of the other carbs are good but most of the stuff is kinda mid. It is good for the price even though the food might not be good. Dont want to say its kinda like a slop buffet but yea its kinda a slop buffet.

Some food was lukewarm or almost cold, I didn't really trust about half of the dishes out on the serving floor. I did like the sushi they had, but one of the rolls I really liked ran out and it was not refilled the entire time I was there. The waitstaff was very nice and polite, they came very often to take plates we were done with or refill our drinks.

My bf and I went for Sunday late dinner and let me start off my saying place looked clean, service was good, however food was all greasy, some dishes tasted okay, others didn’t taste that great. They have a young girl at the front that buses tables, she’s extremely rude. She appears to be in high school. I was patient with her because she’s most likely a dumb teenager with hormonal problems, but her attitude is appalling. Her manager needs to pull her aside and have a word with her about treating customers in a better manner. My questions were always answered with a sigh or a rolling of the eyes. I believe her name was bunny (?). I do not recommend eating here. Please skip and go elsewhere.

Our food was not warm, and fruit flies were buzzing around our table. One of the flies ended up in my fried rice, and after only eating a couple bites, I was sick to my stomach. Overall, management did not handle the situation in a professional manner.

Food is average buffet food. When it was time to leave we paid in cash and told the waitress we didnt need change. She proceeded to count the money at the table and then asked if 7 dollars was all the tip we were leaving her. She stood there for an uncomfortably long time waiting for more money. The waitress even asked for a tip multiple times, and when I declined, she became visibly angry, shouted, and walked away angrily. Eehh--not my favorite of Chinese food...most on the buffet was not hot. Years ago, we sat there for to use the Internet, but when we got ready to leave, the dad-gum woman CHARGED me just for sitting there using the Internet! I did not realize that!! And she was as cold as ice! Since then, I we never returned, but I did go there with my friend, but as you know, I was not impressed at all! I do not care too much about Chinese food-the only exception is Chinatown further up the road. They have better quality food there, unlike this place where it's described as subpar, the food being no-taste and nasty, always cold--a while back, the drinking water tasted like it came from the bathroom-goodness-not my 'cup of tea!!--I'm not ever going back!! They don't even contact you to try to reassure you that they'll make things better for the customers-they don't care!! That is just deplorable!!

On 4/16/19, my family and I decided to eat here. We fixed one plate and sat down. The food was completely cold. We informed the waiter and front desk clerk. The waiter told us to pick food from the bottom. We were told that since we sat down and ate we have to be charged full price. We were then offered a 20% discount by the owner’s daughter. Total was still $27.33. Very disappointed. Please do not waste money here!! Then observe the seating arrangement, they placed minorities on one side.

Unfortunately this was the worst Chinese buffet I have ever been to, bar none. Some food was inedible. ALL of the meat items were barely warm and some had a strange floral taste. The only thing good tasting and at the appropriate temperature that I ate there was the sushi and a fried donut - not really the best two things to fill up on at an overpriced buffet ($13 a plate after tax?). I tried dumplings, sweet and sour chicken and pork kabobs and they were all either dried out or tasted old/ weird. And all cold. The egg drop soup was the only thing hot and even that tasted too strong and less than fresh. I’m a bit shocked this place hasn’t been shut down by the health department. Thankfully, I didn’t get sick. This place needs better management and they’re NOT keeping the food hot.

Food is very bad. Flavorless and veggies way over cooked. Everything has a weird, very greasy after taste that tastes like rancid lard. Won't be coming back.

Im vegan so I ordered mix veggies, fried rice and spring rolls...though food was hot, fresh& good. It WasNot buffet items cost me $13.40 almost buffet price..however I was treated like i was going to steal food. I was approached like they were doing me a favor ....AM SO OFFENDED THE RUDE DISRESPECT WASNOT WORTH 10 CENT!!!!

Please,please, please. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This place is horrible! The food was absolutley dreadful. Undercooked and tastelessitems. Cold and undercooked meat!? The health department should pay this place a visit. In the middle of my lunch today 6/19/2023, the "waitress" asked if I needed a refill. I daid yes the gentlemen behind me also requested a refill(non sweet tea) they lady brought a refill, it was dudes unsweetened tea! I told her about the mistake and she just tries switching the cups. I told her the gentleman had already put sweetener in the pepsi! Then as if drinking out of someone else's cup wasn't bad enough she just tries emptying the cup. I told her new cups . After I thought it over I was like these people are nasty! Let me get the foh! Went to the front told the lady what happen she just kept smiling and bowing obviously not understanding or pretending to not understand English. Save your money and your stomach. DO NOT EAT HERE!

The food was cold and all of us got sick the same night and were throwing up. Also the service wasn't so great because when we got there the 2 ladies in the front were just talking to each other and ignored us for about 5 minutes before addressing us and sitting us down.

This whole tipping, is an issue here. How are you gonna expect a big tip. When you did nothing for us. She was quick to bring the bill. She immediately took our drinks and a plate I was still eating off of. But she did leave the little tray for a tip. I asked her if she was already running us off. She walked away, then returned to our table and proceeded to watch us waiting for her tip. We got up, as we passed her she had the meanest face. I'm all about tipping my server. But if the service isn't there and are rude. Well im sorry for you.

Food was not good at all. Ate buffet and was trying to do small tastes of several items.. nothing impressed me. Everything had a funny taste to it. Service was horrible.. They tell you to pay after you eat, yet a young lady came brought me a ticket while I was still eating and stood there untill I gave her my . I felt that was very rude.no one else was treated this way. I wasted 47 dollars here. Kids left hungry. Never again.

I took my granddaughter and family to eat at this restaurant. The food was good but not warm enough. The waitress was horrible. She swept the floor throwing food particles or something at our table while we were eating, never offered refills of drinks. Stared at us the entire time . My granddaughter was being polite and picked up her empty plate and hand it to this woman. She snatched the plate right out her hand (forcibly) pulling her arm across the table. She's only 11 and it scared her. I asked this lady what she was doing and she just looked at me with no response. When she brought the bill I handed her my credit card. When she came back she stood at the table leaned over my shoulder to see what her tip would be. I was so pissed I covered the receipt left her a lousy $5.00 tip. I folded the receipt in half and laid it on the tray. This woman stood in front of the table, unfolded the receipt and looked at me really pissed. This is the second time we have gone there. The first time was as bad! The same lady was our waitress. That time the food was around $27.00. I paid with my credit card and left her a $9.00 cash tip on the table. She started yelling at me in front of other customers about the tip. I chalked it up as she was just having a bad . We will never never go here again. She needs to retire or find another job.

Customer service was horrible. The whole tipping is an issue here, she was quick to bring the bill to us before we even finish eating stand there the whole time waiting for me and my family to finish eating to pay . We felt like she was running us off. She did not give us good customer service or refill our drinks. Then after paying our bill she demanded Tip from everyone in a rush manner. If you want good food and good customer service please go somewhere else.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. Food was dreadful and repulsive. Spent an arm and a leg for nasty and undercooked and way over cooked so called food. We do not recommend this place to anyone! All over our stomachs were hurting and upset even before we left.. it was so bad! Save yourself yall.

DO NOT come here, the food is NOT good . Customer service is HORRIBLE. DO NOT GO I REPEAT LOL the pizza was SUPER burn and literally black . They don’t even have LOTS of options. No potatoes, no corn, no macaroni no steaks NO CHOPSTICKS And no NUGGETS FOR KIDS. 🤣. And something smelled off in the restaurant. No variety of food . The noodles looks very UNCOOKED. We’ve been to several china buffets and NEVER had to deal with something like this . When choosing the sauce we like to OUR liking The lady told my mom “no touch” THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

Dirty doors, tables, walls. Bland cold food. Our waitress didn't know English, I asked her if I could pay before we finished eating instead of after so my father doesn't b/c he would but shouldn't since it was his birthday & she told me no. Everytime I had a question like bathroom, refill drink, kids seat, etc. She didn't know what I was saying, extremely unhelpful. Everything inside and out is outdated. Again food was so bad! Waste of $70!!!!!! Do not go here! Over priced for their food, if you can same price at mckinney buffet 100x better. They didn't even say goodbye/thankful when we left, just stated at us.

Food was gross and restaurant was dirty. None of the food in the photo got eaten. Was all horrible

I went and ordered a shrimp fried rice and instead of going to the back making my shrimp fried rice order they went to the buffet got some dried up Rising through some raw shrimp in it worst meal ever

Some of the absolute worst buffet food I have ever had. Currently back home hoping I'm not in for a night of food poisoning. Spend your money somewhere else. The food was barely warm, some wasn't even fully cooked, and ALL of it was oversalted and sickly sweet. Wasabi was contaminated with multiple chunks of different 'sushi', and even the mass produced desserts were stale. The pudding had a skin forming at the buffet. They have the gall to price it at over fourteen dollars a head too. Never again. Absolutely foul experience.

Food is cold, not well cooked, variety is limited. This place is one of those that you would never go back to.

We went to this restaurant today and as we were walking up, there was a dead mouse in front of the restaurant. When we got inside we told the lady behind the register About it and she said she was aware of it when we left the restaurant. About 25 minutes later the mouse was still lying on the ground dead; no one picked it up. I will never be going back there again The food wasn't that good.
