I tried this place for breakfast and recommend it! I had the most delicious crapes with fruit and mascarpone. They were amazing! Coffee is good too. The atmosphere is really cute. Love this brunch place!
The chefs/cooks never cease to satisfy me. Eggs Benedict al a avacado, tomato confit. It's a rare treat! First and only downfall was ZERO champagne in the building for brunch on the Saturday after Xmas.; Ouch. I love this place so much. Needed that mimo with me bene
Absolute gem! The Chestnut Tree in Denton is a quaint restaurant with excellent service, delicious food, and a historical vibe. Not sure if this is often, but we were treated to a live music when we were there on a Saturday morning! Their complimentary corn muffins with cinnamon butter were a warm, tasty touch. Very reasonably priced as well!
I stopped in on a whim and was greeted and seated immediately by the lovely staff. I started with coconut black tea(YUM!). The eggs Benedict a la tomato confit and avocado was THE MOST DELICIOUSLY DESIRABLE DISH I've eaten this year! I will crave it often paired with the coconut black iced tea. Excellent service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, cravable and thoughtful food.
Always a fantastic experience at The Chestnut Tree. This has been my go-to brunch spot and it’s always cozy vibes and delicious food. Love grabbing mimosa and sitting outside to people watch on the Denton square. Definitely check it out if you haven’t already!
This food could cure depression! Do not sleep on this brunch spot right on the square. Got the in-house smoked salmon and bagel and you can tell the chefs take pride in what they do. The dish was curated with love and passion. I opted for the side of fruit over the potatoes. And this was no side dish at all. The fruit a bountiful variety all very juicy, sweet and perfectly ripe. Riley and the other staff do a great job making sure the guests here are happy and fulfilled. Thank you, Chestnut Tree for doing what you do so well. Here's to another 30+yrs of excellence. Cheers!
Absolute hidden gem! My friends and I went out for birthday brunch and got seated immediately. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the place has a chic rustic theme. We went on a Saturday and there was a jazz band playing there which made the experience even better. The server was also super nice and went out of their way to accommodate us. The food and drinks were amazing! All five of us loved our food. The tea and coffee selection is very good as well. I highly recommend the blueberry pomegranate tea and Denton Fog. The parking could definitely be an issue, however, there is a free parking lot near the Wells Fargo building that is free and about a 3 min walk!
PROs: Old but quaint place, decor is chic. Hostess and customer service is excellent. Food is good quality and attn to detail was noticeable. Mini muffins were served as appetizers but not sure if they were GF and I failed to ask. CONs: No designated parking for the restaurant, it's a hassle to find one up close during busy hours. We ordered: Healthy Hippie, American Breakfast omelet, and a decaf latte. Vanessa, waitress at the time, was in training and did just fine.
One of my clients came back from lunch at Chestnut Tree and was just glowing about the food there, so we decided to try it out for ourselves. The service was outstanding, really extraordinarily friendly and fast. My vegan meal was excellent and I especially appreciate that the server took pains to make sure that the potatoes were vegan. My husband enjoyed the Monte Cristo sandwich. All in all, a terrific addition to Denton's square.
A hidden gem in Denton, TX. Upscale atmosphere and service. Casual or business casual attire. The staff was exceptional the moment I walked in. I mentioned it was my first visit, and Zella was very patient and explained the menu. I fully enjoyed the pancakes and Gravlax and toasted bagel. I also had a pineapple mimosa that was well balanced. The restroom has a cute decor and was clean. I will absolutely revisit without hesitation.
We love coming here for brunch on the weekend. They often have a mimosa bar set up, which we love! The food is wonderful and the breakfast potatoes are the BEST. If you like tea, try the Denton fog. It is so, so good. On the weekends they often have a live music duo that gives the perfect setting for a leisurely brunch. We rarely have to wait and the waitstaff has always been kind and knowledgeable. This is the perfect place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.
Great little coffee shop inside The Chestnut Tree bistro. Has a stand alone coffee bar where you can order and a couple couches to sit on plus all the diner table/booth seating where you can sit down and order cafe drinks with food (breakfast, brunch, and soup/salads/sandwiches). Had the Michigander latte today (maple syrup) and it was delicious. Can order drinks to go as well. Will definitely be back!
Very good experience, all the staff are extremely friendly. The food is good and has a lot of French elements to it as expected. A lot of the more unique recipes focus on flavor and texture nuance as opposed to the typical Texas "more oil = better" which I do not mind, but its a nice change of pace. One of the few places in this area that uses Brie in a dish. If you want a nice cute bistro with French inspired cuisine I reccomend this place. A little pricey but worth it.
Super cute aesthetic. Food was not great quality for the price. I ordered stuff French toast, which came w two pieces of toast and a scoop of mascarpone in the middle. Paid extra for blueberries. My daughter substituted potatoes for fruit (up charge) and fruit was not fresh. Iced tea didn’t taste fresh either.
Based on good reviews, I stopped in for breakfast before a nearby meeting. Cute place. Server was very dismissive/inattentive. Food was just OK, coffee was great (but tough to get refilled even though they weren't busy). I paid with cash and asked to break another $20 for tip and they didn't have a way to break my $20. So wasn't able to tip. Just overall bad service.
Wow, I used to love this place but today was not like past. Little muffins were stale & appeared old/cold, sourdough bread dried out, no sugar free coffee options and salad was just meh. The live music was so loud that we had a hard time talking. I don’t think I’ll be back. Sorry
