Surprisingly tasty! It's a hole-in-the-wall type of family restaurant. Food portions are substantial and rather affordable in price. Taste? Authentic mama type of cooking. - Wonton: It is very good, but not the best in Socal like someone suggested. - Pot stickers: The best dish today. Very crispy and filled with lean meat. Little fat. - Porridge: porridge of the day is a sweet millet porridge. Not bad, very "Taiwan" like - Steamed bun: lots of filling. Great baos. Overall, satisfied and will be back! Recommend!

A gem of a place hidden in a partially empty strip mall along Diamond Bar Blvd. The food was absolutely delicious combined with all the spices and complimented with a fantastic house made Chinese chilli sauce. The decor is hopeless, seating arrangement is boring but the service is great and expeditious. The price is amazing!, for two the average price is around $ 20. With three spicy dishes (depending on the day of the week) and steamed rice. From the main street the place is not visible, but if you go in search of this place, all is worth. Worth for the buck!

Excellent spot for baos and dumplings. Big Bao (da baozi) - A+ The bao has a delightfully fluffy texture. The daily available stuffings for the big bao are offered on a rotating basis. I got the pork and mushroom stuffing. Pork Pan Fried Bao (Shengjianbao) - A The shengjianbao also has a great fluffy texture. Flavor was also tasty and there was a little bit of soup inside. I don’t know if I really like the gyoza-like crispy lattice on the bottom though. I’m used to the bao being fried to a crisp on the bottom instead. Pork Xiaolongbao - A- Not the best I’ve ever had, but still really good. Might have suffered from the takeout travel time. Beef Rolls - A- Solid. Maybe could’ve used just a dab of hoisin sauce.

This is the first time I was able to try authentic northeastern Chinese breakfast in California, and it really satisfied my cravings. The food is just like it is back in China and very delicious. The menu is short and simple which is my favorite since that means they specialize in specific foods. Must try for some authentic and delicious Chinese breakfast! The staff are very friendly too.

Soy milk and the fried dough were so fresh! Tofu jelly soup was one of the best ones I had. Also had fish chive dumplings .. all very tasty . The food brings back a lot of childhood memory. Will come back and try more stuff

I've always had this place to go, but it's been really good every time. The beef rolls are among the best I've had. They're not oily at all, and not overly beefy. The beef noodle soup isn't taiwanese style, but is still good. The broth is like bone broth, pretty reminiscent to malatang if you've had it before. The spicy beef noodle soup is decently spicy, it provides a kick while still being flavorful. A new Diamond Bar certified classic.

Just randomly found this place after we played golf and we were looking for something different than just eggs and toast. The yuatao and soy milk were really good! Similar to the ones we had in China. The dumplings were good, but not sure if I would get those again. If you are looking for a more traditional Chinese breakfast, this is a good spot.

Authentic Chinese food. Not a single white person inside. Fantastic. We were the only English speakers. Immersive experience. I don’t live in Diamond bar but I’d make the drive to come back.

Update: the wontons are still the best. We also tried the steammed buns (小笼包) and grilled buns (生煎包),both were quite good. Not as fancy as Ding Tai Fung, but sure tastes better. This place has one of the best wontons in SoCal. The soup flavor was just right with a right amount of seaweeds and cilantros. Note: the soup does contain tiny dried shrimps, so if you have shrimp allergy, you should ask the chef not to add the tiny white shrimps. The xiaolongbao (小笼包)were decent as well, but the wonton was superb. They also serve Chinese breakfast on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, though selection was limited. They have fried bread stick (油条), but no buns (烧饼) to go with it as they normally go together. Also, I really wanted to try the pork buns, but they ran out for the day. (Edit: we’ve returned to try its pork buns, and they were decent, but not great.) Guess I have to go back. This place is in a plaza that’s a little hard to find as it’s not on a busy street and many vacancies within the plaza, but the upside is that there were plenty of parking spaces.

This is our favorite place to stop for lunch! The food is high-quality for a very reasonable price. Everything is fresh, well-made, and delicious. I could not recommend this place higher!

Very good Chinese breakfast. Everything was delicious. Their beef roll is excellent and pan fried baos are good. I like their salty tofu curd since it is not salty and has a lot of the authentic ingredients. They did not even bother to charge for tips.

What a discovery!!! The “Beef roll cake” (Niurou Juan bing)! was amazing, the dough was super thin and yet flaky crunchy. The beef tasty and plentiful with fresh coriander. I’ve eaten this in Taiwan, China and (too) many Chinese restaurants around the world and commend the chefs for an exceptional experience. We also had Xiao Lom Bao, the very fine soup dumplings which were equally tasty and had a very fine skin dough. This was definitely the hidden gem I had been looking for with my wife who is part of the Chinese diaspora. It’s a simple eatery without much fanfare but for those who have a discerning taste for this type of food, a must visit. The Diamond Bar (east of Los Angeles where I-57 and CA-60 cross) neighborhood as is Chino Hills etc. is home to many families, originally from Taiwan and later people from the People’s republic of China. This eatery is owned and operated by a chef from Heihe, Heilongjiang province, located on the Chinese northern border with Russia across Blagoveshchensk. They also do take-out and one can buy various dumplings to make at home. A word of thanks to my niece who discovered this gem.

Great authentic, traditional Chinese food at a great price! It's run by a very friendly family and if you have any special diet requirements they can cook it for you if you ask. They're a bit of a language barrier if you have any complicated requests but they have two daughters there that can translate if needed.

This is one of the best restaurants I ever experienced in LA. Though it is not big the food tastes really great. I really like the red bean sticky rice fried cake it reminds me of the ones I took in Beijing. The savory tofu pudding is strongly recommended. The steamed dumplings and Wonton are amazing. Strongly recommend this restaurant it will never let you down.

Perfect place for Taiwanese food. The beef wrap is crispy and has a large chunk of meat in the middle- one of the best I've had ever (even compared to those in Taiwan)! Super delicious and affordable!

Great food, very good service. One of our favorite relaxed places to eat. 12/20/2018 - We’ve been here several times since my first post and had good meals each time. This place can always be counted on for a good meal. Today was sour cabbage fish soup, spicy intestine and veggie Dry Pot and leek pies (always very good here!). Portions are very good and they haven’t had a price raise yet, so this place is a great value! Service is good, but it’s just a husband and wife operation, so be a little patient!

I thought the food was hearty and tasted great! Definitely gives that homey authentic Chinese feel that most Chinese restaurants here lack. Personally feel like the prices are a tad high… Soy milk was lovely and I’d recommend the beef noodle over the beef wraps. Just to note, my companion who came with me (a Chinese native) who usually isn’t picky with food said it didn’t taste that good.

Decent traditional Chinese fare. My family of nine adults and two children came in for the first time tonight for dinner and we were the largest party, taking up half of this small restaurant. I had called ahead and asked if we could reserve a table, and the woman on the phone said yes. We arrived at 6pm and it really wasn't busy tonight, surprisingly. Service was good, pretty standard Chinese service. Not a whole lot of talk, just there to take your orders and serve you food. We ordered twelve dishes including tea, cold seaweed, a cold noodle dish, chive boxes, bamboo and pork, scrambled egg with shrimp, water boiled fish and beef, pork dumplings, hot and sour soup, and enough rice for everyone. The food was hot, served quickly, presented well, and it really wasn't very expensive at all. Our total bill with tip came out $122, so about $11 per person if you include the babies. Overall, decent traditional Chinese food.

Very good. Not fancy, just good Chinese food. Not chain style Chinese. Friendly customer service. Family atmosphere. There are pictures of the dishes on the walls and in the menu so you know what to expect. The portions are large and the prices are low. Great deal ! Kung Pao chicken is excellent as is the Orange chicken, fried rice and my new favorite - Cold noodles with spicy sauce. We are hooked. You should try it. Call ahead for take out.

Didn't know how it got good reviews. The waiter didn't even bother to greet us. We stood there and waited and the waiter just totally ignore us. No clue what was going on. Will never go there!
